Staff was ok it felt like you were bothering them vs a welcoming friendly staff.It felt like they had worked non stop and you walked in 5min before closing but they had just opened 2hrs ago.So that just added to it but with all ordeal with parking it was "we're already here let's just stay". The drinks were the best part of the meal. The bad part? Besides the price was the size. According to one of the wait staff they only have 1 cup size for all drinks. They also limit the amounts on some drinks. Now for the main course the burgers everyone raves and posts about all over social media. For the price I was expecting something new, something I haven't had or way better than your reg fast food burgers. The burger were avg at best. I got the Marvin Z. It lacked salt/flavor. It came with a pickle chutney that if you ask me I couldn't tell you if it was really there. The bun was soft but it was soggy and the longer it took you to eat it the worst it got. You had to lit try and hold everything together or you'd end up need a fork to eat your burger. I got chips and that was the best part of the meal especially with the ranch they came with. It's been 7 years since I've been to rodeo goat and the food is very consistent. I came on a Saturday night with my girlfriends after going to frostys Christmas pop up across the street and surprisingly there was no wait. I ordered the firebird and one of my friends had the river oaks burger and our vegan friend had the Neil young. The firebird and river oaks were good and juicy. The firebird is supposed to be a hot chicken sandwich but it's not hot or spicy. It's still very flavorful though. Once again the Neil young veggie patty was very bland and underwhelming. Rodeo goat is a must eat at place if you're downtown Houston. I was at a cheer competition recently at the convention center and didn't want to lose my parking space so loaded up my Yelp app to find a good restaurant nearby for lunch. I saw rodeo goat and decided to check it out, merely based on the name and because I love a good burger. We took the quick walk there and expected to have to wait because it was pretty busy but found a seat immediately. Our waiter was quick to greet us and very friendly. He explained things on the menu that I had questions about and we were able to place our order quickly. I ordered a royale with cheese burger as well as the cheese fries surprise. Once it came, I knew there was no way I was going to finish it all. The burger was amazing. It had American cheese, chopped onions, jalapeño bacon, mustard, and a spiked ketchup, which tasted like possibly a whiskey, ketchup? The beef is itself was flavorful and moist. Even without the toppings, it would've been delicious. The fries were quite the creation and so delicious. I was bummed I couldn't finish them because it was such a huge serving. They had cheddar, bacon, and jalapeños on top of fries. Under the fries was brisket chili. They were a meal themselves. It was so filling I didn't even eat dinner that night. Definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had. The restaurant itself was kind of fun. Taxidermy goats, a warehouse type restaurant with a lot of wood, these long tables with dividers so you can share them with others. Definitely my kind of vibe. Service was also very consistent. For how busy they were, our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we were doing well and make sure we always had refills on our drinks. Honestly the best place for burgers in Houston. The only issue is the patties are way smaller and off portion in comparison to the bun. They have every possible patty-turkey, beef, chorizo (you name it) which raises the bar in comparison to other places. It was good but not standoutish, the fries really took the cake there. To drink I had a bottle of Saint Arnold Root Beer and a glass of Saint Arnold Raspberry AF, both of which I would hands down order again. I sat at the bar and the service was on point. I'd heard good things, so the last time I was in Houston I checked out Rodeo Goat. While there were no rodeos and no actual goats, the burgers were incredible. Really, really well-made all around. Clean, good staff and plenty of parking. They have a great selection of different burgers and it was hard to choose just one because a lot of them sounded great. They also have two burgers to choose from that are in competition and keep a scoreboard of which one is ordered more which I thought was kinda cool. The food was good for sure. They had a ton of delicious burgers on the menu with swap out options for the meat. We wanted to try the Houston Rodeo Goat after having gone to a couple in Dallas. Wow! Fantastic! (Way better than Dallas, but let's be real...everything in Houston is better!) We started with the cheese fries and probably should have stopped with these since they were tasty and filling but we pushed forward. We had the Whiskey Burger --blackberry compote is amazing--and the Nanny Goat. Finally we finished it off with the churro goat balls. Delicious!
