Went there with a group of 6 for Saturday brunch. Service was pretty good. However, none of us were impressed with the food. The salad bar was bland. No dressing on the cole slaw or Caesar salad. None of the meats we had seemed to have any seasoning. Very bland. Good quality meats, but zero flavor. Not near as good as Fogo de Chao. I have been here twice in the past month. I will compare this place first to a normal restaurant and then to Fogo de Chao. Vs normal restaurant: * better service * meat is higher quality (asking for sauce would truly denote a rookie) * seafood is about on par with most non-seafood places (good but not spectacular) * salad bar is exotic, abundant, and diverse Vs Fogo de Chao * service is two notches lower * steak is of equal quality, but chicken/pork options are not as good as Fogo * meat options are more diverse at Rodizio! They had a "Wild Game" month and that really made the trip worth going to. They should bring it back. * salad bar is not as luxurious or abundant. It does have quail eggs, which give it exotic points. Summary: A great overall restaurant. If you want a cookie cutter meat extravaganza go to Fogo, its more standard. If you like trying new things, stepping out of your normal palate range, and are okay with slightly lesser quality than Fogo, this is definitely a place you need to try!! Second time here. Came here for a friends birthday and service was slow. We had a larger group and the staff kept skipping the people in the middle of the table because it seemed inconvenient to serve them. They would serve people on the edge and walk away. They were definitely understaffed tonight. When the people in the middle do finally get you a piece of meat it's so small you'll finish it in one bite then wait another 10 mins for someone to come by. They do however refill your water very quickly. I left the place full... full of water. Probably would never go back and would not recommend. The first time I came the wait staff made comments about my weight, assuming I didn't know any Spanish or Portuguese. I foolishly bought a gift card thinking it was isolated to just a couple of "gouchos". Nope. Second time I went I was told I had to wait even though there were more than a dozen empty tables. This is the third or fourth trip to this location when in town. My family likes the place. I was especially impressed this evening with the customer service. We asked for a discount for a senior member of our group who would not eat much. The manager was willing to do so, saying we all have a Mother to take care of. This is my review of the Rodizio Grill in Maple Grove Minnesota. It's a Brazilian steakhouse that features unlimited meat, salad and appetizers. My wife and I ate there on February 15th, we had a 6:45 PM reservation. We walked in at 6:35, were told our table was being cleared and we were seated within 5 minutes. The place was full. During our 5 minute wait, another couple tried to walk in and were told that they weren't taking walk ins because they were booked solid with reservations. My first hint at the excellent service came next. Before the couple could leave the entryway someone said there was a cancellation and they found them a table. Our waitress was Sarah. She asked if we had ever been there before. We had not. She gave us the low down on the full Rodizio (It sounds dirty, but this place can only be described as a food orgy!). They give you a green and red wooden peg. When you have the green side up, people come to you with meat on skewers, when you place the red side up, they don't (so you can eat), and when you place it on its' side you are ready for your bill. They brought us appetizers. Banana Frita- a cooked banana with a cinnamon coating, Polenta- a Brazillian corn meal bread and Pao De Queijo-a Brazillian cheese bread made with yucca flour. The appetizers were excellent. The Pao De Queijo had a popover like taste, I very much enjoyed. The Banana Frita was not only an appetizer, but a perfect desert, should you have room. The Polenta was my favorite. The full Rodozio also includes a full unlimited gourmet salad bar. It contained Brazilian salads and items you'd recognize like Greek salad. I had a Greek salad and some coated broccoli, my wife had a salad and some mashed potatoes. The salads were fresh and tasty, my wife said the mashed potatoes were to die for. Sarah also offered us drinks. My wife had a chocolate martini and I asked if they had any Brazilian beers. When in Rome, right? They had a dark Brazilian beer called Xingu. I love dark beers. The Xingu beer was new to me. It was dark with a very sweet taste. It reminded me of grapes. It was a perfect beer for the food orgy ahead. I would later learn it had molasses in it, which gave it its' sweet taste. The meats? Where to begin. Once we placed the green side of the peg up servers swarmed with every meat imaginable cooked to perfection on a skewer. Beef, poultry, pork, lamb and seafood. They come to your table, tell you what the meat is and ask if you'd like some.They also ask how you want your meat, rare, medium rare or medium. Then they carve it in front of you, and you take from the skewer with tongs. There are too many meats to describe all of them. My favorite was the Bife Com Alho. It's a tender cut of beef rubbed with garlic. As I mentioned earlier, all of the meats were perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. Near the end there were a couple of meats we hadn't seen yet. The lamb and bacon wrapped turkey. We told the meat servers and were told they would bring them. True to their word they did! Again perfectly cooked. The turkey was so hot we had to wait for it to cool. Service was excellent. Our waitress, Sarah explained the process to us, made sure we had appetizers, drinks, showed us the salad bar and never let our water glasses empty. The meat servers were prompt and expert at carving the meats. They also made sure you got what you wanted. I ate until I couldn't have eaten another crumb. I haven't been this full since I used to visit the old Viking Village smorgasbord in the 70's. After feasting like Henry the VIIIth, we finally placed our peg on it's side. Sarah promptly arrived and offered us desert. For probably the first time in my life I said no thank you. I couldn't eat another thing after the food orgy. My wife did however have another drink. The price was very reasonable. $34 per person for the full Rodizio at dinner. I spent $116 for two, including appetizers, salad bar, excellent meat, drinks and a $20 tip for Sarah and the staff (well deserved). I left feeling like a python that had just swallowed a pig. I don't think I'll have to eat for another month! I can't recommend the Rodizio Grill enough. The service and food are excellent, well worth $34 a person. read more

I went here when they first opened and I thought this was going to be as good as Fogo De Chao...wrong. The service was really slow and it wasn't even busy. The men who walk around and cut/serve the meat for you were so inexperienced it was pathetic. They didn't know how to properly cut the meat so the juices would just go flying everywhere. The meat selection they have isn't as good as it may seem when you look at their menu online. For my first experience there, I would have to say it was just okay. I recently decided to give it another shot. I figured that maybe their workers just needed a little more experience. Nothing has changed. Service sucked, and the men who cut/serve the meat were more inexperienced than the first time I went there! They never ask how you want your meat (rare/medium/well), they splattered juice everywhere a few times, one time the guy just literally threw the piece of meat onto my plate, and one guy nearly knocked over 2 glasses on our table while pulling away from our table...SO inexperienced. I can only remember ONE nice man while the rest were so disinterested in their job. I went during dinner time and the flow of food coming through was so inconsistent and sometimes we would go awhile without any meat coming by. Oh...and when I got served some type of meat, it was cold...wth? *rolls my eyes* Their salad bar isn't anything to brag about either. If you don't care about service and you just want whatever meat you can get, that's fine..but I suggest only going during lunch when it's cheaper...I think dinner is like $30 or $35? NOT WORTH IT. GO TO FOGO DE CHAO where you will get 100x better tasting meat, you'll have it cooked/served the way YOU want, and the service is really good. STAY AWAY...spend an extra $20 and go to Fogo De Chao...trust me...if you even dare to compare the two, you'll end up just wishing you had listened to me and just went to Fogo. So I really like brazillian steakhouses. They are usually are superb when it comes to delicate cuts of meat. Being a fogo de chao fan, i expected a similar service and food but my experience was horrible. Cons: Cold appetizers, Lack of wait staff interest, Not so fresh salad bar, Overcooked and poor choices in steaks. Worst of all, i had just gotten a new visa card and this my first use here. Today I got a call from bank that someone called the bank gave my card number and tried to take some actions on my behalf. I strongly suggest you avoid the waiter names Raphael. Went here for lunch a couple times and had a real nice time. Came for dinner and will never go back. I've been to a couple Brazilian Steak places before (Fogo and a Fogo-wanna-be.) So this was not my first rodeo. The lunch here is good to great. It was not very crowded so service was better and the gauchos get around quicker. They don't have all the premium meats, but its good enough to give you a solid three hour meat coma. The lunch is pricey, but worth it. Dinner, however...... We made dinner reservations for 7:30 on a Wednesday assuming we would be at the tail end of the dinner rush. Wrong. We show up at 7:25 and were told it would be a few minutes until we had our table. At first this was OK. By the time we were seated at 7:50 I was getting annoyed. I was thankful though; there was a couple who had reservations for 7:00 that weren't seated until 7:40!!! Bless those folks for being more patient than me. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine and I assume most people. What's the point of making a reservation if it means nothing? We were seated and our waitress brought us menus and took our drink orders. No need for the menus, miss. We come here for the walking protein smorgasbord. She returned with our drinks and then vanished for the rest of the evening. The gauchos were moving fast and making little eye contact. If you want something, you needed to stand up and flag the guy down. They quickly slice off your taste portion and then run away. It was frantic and a bit cold. Not the warm, careful service I expect from a Brazilian steak house. Another surprising observation during our mid week dinner trip was the number of families with young children in the dining room. Like, stroller to early elementary age children. Be aware that you may have to dodge a wandering child or rogue sippy-cup on your way to the salad bar. Overall, the food was tasty and satisfying. I would have ordered another drink if our waitress had not been MIA. Bottom line, if I'm spending $100+ for a night out with my wife, I'd expect a more refined dining experience. Our waitress forgot to order our drinks and never came back to refill them. We had to wave down the manager to get our drink orders. The restaurant is the worst Brazilian steak house I've ever been to. It is definitely a step down in quality compared to others I've been to. The Carnivore and Mrs. Carnivore received an invitation to this northern establishment from some friends of ours, and as we were available and very curious, we accepted. We are glad we did, so we no longer have to wonder, and so we know not to go back. As Brazilian style steakhouses go, I have now been to two, and this one just falls short in almost all areas. The staff was super-friendly and constantly looking out for our table, which the Carnivore appreciates. Desserts here seemed hit or miss, probably due to my personal preferences. The soft drinks here, Coke products if you are keeping score at home, do come with free refills, unlike the competition, however, it is from a fountain instead of glass bottles, unlike the competition. Now, the meat. The runaway winner at our table, and for the Carnivore, was the picanha. Lamb was okay, beef tender was okay, but a bit stringy. Pork was okay. I do not know how the chicken at these places gets so hot, but it does, and was also okay. The best I can say about this is that it was not bad. The Carnivore was pleased that this establishment offered chicken hearts, as he is generally happy to eat the heart of his enemies. Sadly, the victory confirmed by this act was somewhat subdued with the realization that sometimes, like this time, the heart of my enemies just doesn't taste wonderful. There were strange offerings that the server referred to as "pineapple" and "grilled tomato," but the Carnivore does not eat things he cannot identify, and as he is not familiar with "pineapple" or "tomato," he passed on both. There is also something called a "salad bar," which, due to the strangeness of it all, the Carnivore avoided. Overall, it isn't that this place is bad, but that it is farther away, not appreciably cheaper, and just plain not _as_ good as the other alternative. I will not run this establishment down, but I likewise will not revisit it. It just cannot compete, at the price point it is at, with the competition. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, our first since becoming parents, and though we normally go to Fogo de Chao or Manny's for our big occasions we decided to give Rodizio a chance since it's basically Fogo, but cheaper. Well after a meal at Rodizio I can safely say that Fogo has nothing to worry about. To start with we were seated and promptly forgotten about. Over ten minutes went by before a server came to take our drink orders, etc.. The salad bar is an ok size but it's much smaller than Fogo's and has some pretty unappetizing items like school cafeteria quality mashed potatoes. They tried to duplicate Fogo's delicious little cheese popover things but they were hard, barely warm, and flavorless though they do manage a tasty polenta. Of course the meat is the star of the show at a Brazillian steakhouse and though there a couple of exceptions the meat is where Rodizio was really a let down. As I saw another reviewer mention they don't typically ask how rare you would like it (we were asked exactly once) and so you just end up with whatever the gaucho feels like giving you. Often the meat didn't feel hot enough, it felt warmed up as opposed to fresh off the spit like it is at Fogo. The garlic beef, our favorite Fogo specialty, was tough and overdone. Now I'm not saying the place is terrible all over. The marinated chicken is delicious and my wife loved the grilled pineapple. Free parking is nice also as long we're comparing this to the downtown Fogo. Really the food here is fine and you can eat as much as you want and try to get your $32 worth. And though the service started poorly once we got to the meat portion of our evening we had a steady stream of gauchos and were never left without food when we wanted it. They have Surly on tap which I appreciated and my wife's sangria was tasty. Overall I wouldn't recommend Rodizio to someone unless they loved Fogo but absolutely couldn't afford it, but still I'd hesitate since the food is such a big step down and ultimately it's still pretty expensive (the two of us each had one drink and no dessert and with tip we still paid over $100). read more

If you are expecting a full service experience like they do at Fogo de Chão, then this is not the place for you. Every cut cut of meat we had was dry, like eating lightly salted sawdust, emphasis on lightly! There was no salt on the meat! Caipirinhas were horrible, no sugar, we paid for a "premium" caipirinha and it has to be the worst caipirinha I've ever had; for $12 I can buy the whole bottle at any liquor store for that price. The salad was limp, the Pão de Queijo came from Costco, and the beans came from a can. The chicken was bland, like a dry chicken nugget with no breading not it. We had a server who made me pass the plates across the faces of my guests because he was too lazy to go to the other freaking side of the table and pick up the plates. The place is dirty, we sat down and for 45 minutes the table next to us stayed askew. During the COVID-19 pandemic, restaurants are the ones struggling the most, why would you cut corners on the food and cleanliness of the restaurant? BOO!!! I don't know if it's whether I just came on the wrong day or if it was because I came for lunch. I came here for lunch on Friday. Upon entering Rodizio, our host was on her phone and was more interested in talking to her peer co-worker about charging it. There was 2 other tables for lunch. There was a total of 2 gauchos. One was preparing the meats and the other was going around serving them. We started off with the salad bar. -Fresh fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries) is a nice touch -Mushrooms were on point -I don't recommend trying the beef stroganoff. I've never had beef stroganoff so bad before. -Alfredo looked very depressing, old, and dry. Our table sides: -The cheesy bread was not hot when they brought it out. It was hard and stale. The dough was thick. -The polenta fries were good, they were nice and crunchy with a nice flavor. Down side? Again, cold. -Bananas, now these were different because they were topped with cinnamon sugar. Nice touch. I'm going to assume these were all cold because there was only 2 other tables and they wanted to cut back expenses. They weren't fresh. Our meats: -For one, I'm going to start off talking about how they serve "spicy chicken". It literally looks like orange chicken on a stick. It taste like chinese food with spice, from a skewer. It was over-cooked. -Pork sausage, the gaucho carried around 2 skewers of these. One was over-cooked and burnt, the other was undercooked where you can see the fat residue connecting all of the sausages together still on it. -Top sirloin, in a way, we talked about this one, this one made us all feel like all of these meats were left overs from the day before. It was burnt and the fat was shriveled up. -Chicken hearts. I think this one is kind of an acquired taste. I know people who absolutely love these and will order 20 of them in one order but for me, I think it's got kind of a raunchy taste to it. -Glazed pineapple. This use to be my favorite thing here, when I came here before but lately, this place has really lost it. The guy gave us the pineapple core. BOO!!! Then he came back with another skewer of pineapples but they were under-cooked and the glaze wasn't prominent. -Garlic beef, the meat looked cooked but it was cold. Food here does not taste fresh. It all looks like yesterdays leftovers. Or maybe because there's only 2 gauchos working and it's hard to work with that, I don't know. To top it off, the gauchos have to answer the phones too?? It's already hard enough only having 2 of them working, one prepping and one serving but they have to answer the phones?? Dessert. We ordered the creme brûlée. All I can say is that i'm disappointed. There was nothing special about it. It was just basic. There was a total of 2 servers as well, and I felt like our server just disappeared until we were ready for the check, the other server took care of us the whole time while he was gone. It's really hard when your co-workers aren't team players. Overall, I don't recommend this place, I suggest you pay ten dollars more to go to their competitor for lunch, twenty more for dinner. Great Service, Bad Food still = a bad experience. Food 7/15 This is a restaurant. And ultimately the food was just not the strongest part of the night. I tried as much as I could and found many of my meats either awkwardly sweet, raw, or burned on the outside. As a steak house I thought there steak was the weakest part of the evening. I thought they did well on the rattle snake sausage and the fillet steak. Service 4/5 Our wait staff was delightful and I was really enjoying myself. I found conversation with people to be good. There was an awkward 6 min wait at the beginning after getting seated Price 2/5 I thought the price was not good compared to what value we got out of it. People told me it was a cheaper fogo de chao. So I went in with a groupon and payed 22 dollars. And normally is it 35 dollars. I could see a price around 15 dollars being fair. But 35 dollars was unreasonable. Uniqueness 4/5 Had some really fun dishes that I enjoyed. Rattle snake,fish, garlic and Parmesan coated steaks and flan. Overall 17/30 The hard reality is that I would not consider going back. I noticed that there was a new Brazilian steak house in town very comparable to Fogo De Chao for much less I had to go try it out. Made my reservation through open table for a lunch, Its party of the outside mall when arriving i quickly noticed that the decor is the same as Fogo and there for gauchos bringing out the meat on sticks. The place is huge and can seat a lot but the tables weren't full at all even for a saturday, Once seated the waitress stopped by and explained the process with the wooden piece and got our drink orders I got the Brazilian limeade which isn't as good as Fogos but still ok. The salad bar had a lot of options pasta salads regular salad and parmesan pieces which I enjoyed. Then off the meat which is the main reason why we went everything was good but it seemed like they weren't consistent on the cooking because the next round of the same meats we would get wouldn't taste the same as the last over cooked, under cooked, or the seasoning on it wasn't the same which really disappointed me. They have a few items the surprised me like chicken hearts and the grilled pineapple which was my favorite. Sure Rodizio maybe less then Fogo and easier to get reservations or a table but the taste isn't going to be the same I say pay the extra amount to get a better taste of a Brazilian steakhouse but if you've experienced it already and just want to get a lot of meat then I say go to Rodizio. read more

Disappointing food quality! We had our first (and last) visit this afternoon for lunch. Our main focus was to compare them to Fogo de Chao since we had both recently eaten at Fogo. And all of my computer nerd friends have been telling me the past year that Rodizio is "just as good" as Fogo "except cheaper"! I'm here to tell you this is NOT true at all. BEEF QUALITY: I literally tried everything on offer for lunch. But I'm all about the beef. And the quality was super disappointing. I don't know what grade of beef these guys buy but it obviously isn't Prime or Choice. It was ALL chewy, rubbery, and dramatically worse then the beef at Fogo. Some of the other meats were sub-par...like the pork sausage (yuk!) and the chicken. FYI, I liked the grilled Pineapple. SERVING SIZES: The servers also offer you microscopic sized slices. This was pretty irritating because I was really hungry. I felt like I was in the meat line at Old Country Buffet. I always asked for two slices and I was still served ant sized portions, despite me laughing and telling the dude that they were "wimpy". APPETIZERS: Ho, hum. I like the fried banana with cinnamon. SALAD BAR: Interesting selection. Nice try. But again, quality was lacking and FAR below Fogo. DESSERT: The Creme Brulee was fantastic. It was the highlight of the meal and I actually ordered some extra to take home for my wife. SPEED: Our beers took forever to arrive. We actually finished all of our apps and our entire plate of salad bar selections before they arrived. Weird. SERVICE: Our server, Chad, was fantastic. I left him a big tip since he totally kicked ass. If they bought better food products and let Chad run the place, I think they'd be better off. FYI, the person who took our reservations on the phone was super unprofessional and in need of some training. Also, the reservations were ridiculous since the place was nearly empty for lunch. PRICE: Finally, lunch is only about 10 bucks less than lunch at Fogo. Dinner is about $20 less than Fogo. But Fogo is far superior from top-to-bottom, beginning-to-end. DOES NOT COMPARE TO FOGO!!! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT WE MADE!! We went and took the in-laws even after I read the bulk of the recent reviews. Because, clearly I cannot listen or heed. After reading the current reviews, I thought perhaps these folks came at a bad time or what we have all thought before, only those with poor experiences write reviews. I wanted to give Rodizio a chance. Unfortunately, I had a very similar experience to other reviewers. I was immediately disappointed in the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant. I faintly thought of a comparison to a Perkins family restaurant. It was not at all what one would expect for a nearly $40 per person dining experience. But, I still wanted to keep an open mind because in my opinion great food can often trump a less than fantastic atmosphere . The service was reasonable. It was a Friday evening and there was only a single waitress for our entire section. She worked very hard and did her absolute very best to service all of the tables. It was just very unreasonable to expect her to do so. We tipped her well because she gave her best. Also, the gauchos were friendly and came to our table frequently. I agree they did offer inadequate servings but I was able to look past that because they did come to the table so frequently. HOWEVER, the quality of the meat being served was seriously SUBSTANDARD. It was so mediocre that it ruined my dining experience. If you, like me, are looking for a Fogo experience in the suburbs... then you will be extremely disappointed. My opinion is... Spend the extra $12 and go downtown. The challenge of parking is comparable but there is absolutely no comparison in dining experience. read more

When seated, we were given a run through of the experience and were led to the salad bar which consisted of salads, quail eggs, bacon, mozzarella balls, and rice. Rice was a huge plus for my boyfriend! After we reached our table, the server gave us a basket of fried bananas, palenta, and cheesy muffins. The palenta and cheesy muffins worked really well in combination of the meats. As the servers began to arrive to our table to offer meats of all sorts, I must say their chicken was tender moist and well seasoned. Chicken hearts were also offered to the most adventurous. But by far my favorite offering was the grilled pineapples. I had 4 servings!!! Unfortunatly I was no fan of the fried bananas or the pork. They were not much to right home about. Hubs and I were going to have a last minute dinner date while our kids were away for the evening. Called to see if we could make a reservation and we were told they were totally booked for reservations. No problem, well stop in. On our way to drop off our daughter we were going to be passing the restaurant. I called to see how long the wait was, thinking we could put our name down, drop her off, and be back by the time our name would be called. I was told that the manager said she could not tell me how long the wait time was. Um... excuse me? So I respond: "Ok... are we talking 15 minute or are we talking an hour?" Hostess: "I'm sorry, he said I cant tell you" Seriously? Do you want my business? Cause at this point I dont ever want to come eat there just because of this ridiculous interaction that were currently having. Unfortunately for me my husband the caveman was in the mood for ALL the meats, so he suggested we just drop by and put our name down. I walk in and the restaurant is 90% empty. COME ON! You couldnt have told me there was no wait at the moment? I turned right around and walked out I was so annoyed, I just couldnt give them my business after that. As I'm walking out there was a sign on the door that says "Due to it being Valentines Day weekend our prices Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be $44.95 per person". ARE YOU SERIOUS? So because its VDay weekend you think you can charge close to what Fogo charges? Givemeafreakingbreak. Not going to happen. I'd rather drive my butt downtown for some a Brazilian Steakhouse with amazing customer service than spend $20 at Rodozio. read more

Second visit to Rodizio Grill and this time it was me, hubby and the two kids. The kids thought this place was terrific. The food is really quite nice. Some meats are definitely better than others. While many of the pork dishes were overcooked, the lamb was outstanding, as was the chicken and the steak. The salad bar was ok this time, but not quite as good as the first time we visited since the farofa and other specialties were missing. Overall, a strong restaurant- especially since lunch is served until 4 pm. Yum! read more

After watching this place being built, I was super excited to try it out! My parents birthday was approaching and I decided to take the family out and try Rodizio. Parking was pretty easy; however, it can get tight during high traffic times since they share a parking lot with Trader Joe's. There's a Whole Foods going in soon, which will share the same parking lot as well. I had reservations and we were seated immediately. The decor inside is nice and doesn't scream super posh; it's tasteful and fits well for the area (Fogo goes all out with white linens and such, don't expect the same here). The system is similar to other Brazilian steak houses, red/green system. The salad bar is quite fantastic to say the least. It had a great assortment of both hot and cold items, lots of pasta salads, chilled/picked vegetables and several hot items (pastas, meats and such). I definitely appreciated the larger variety of salad bar items! On to the grilled meats! Now, compared to Fogo, the variety of beef items is much smaller; however, the is a much larger variety of meats (chicken, lamb, pork and seafood). If you like your cow, you'll see that here, just not in the massive quantity as other places. My favorite was the Bife Com Alho (beef in garlic seasoning)! The Frango Agri-Doce and Coracao (chicken in flavorful sauce and chicken hearts) were also a big win for me. The other favorite I had was Abacaxi (grilled pineapple) combined with grilled chicken was fantastic! I was very impressed with variety and thought it was a different take at the Brazilian grill experience. So, what's up with my 3 stars?! It comes down to the little things with the grilled meats; it wasn't consistent from one product to the next. I was never asked rare/medium/well done and each time I got a piece of grilled meat, the cooked preparation was different. I was also expecting more beef items to come around; the focus seemed to be more on chicken. The service was 4 stars. The staff was on top of helping each table and bringing out items being requested. They also made suggestions of pairing items together to get the best taste experience. The manager (Amber?) also stopped by to ensure we were having a great experience. At the end of the day, if you haven't tried it, try it. I'll for sure go again, but might hit Rodizio during the lunch hour ($20 vs $33). read more

The service went down for this place. Being a Maple grove neighbor we tried so hard to support this place. The hosts are crabby and act like they have the most prestigious job as they take early reservations. and Last time we visited them Gouchoes returned to our table once in 30 minutes with Parmesan crusted chicken and chicken hearts. This place should take some customer service lesson from GRILL HALL serving same type of food (with more selection) where they appreciate return viisit. 20 of our family members decided to permanently avoid Rodizio Maple grove unless Service gets better. The lunch AYCE ($20) is the best value if choosing to dine here. While not offering as many meat options as the dinner ($35), the lunch selection is more than enough to have several beef, pork, and chicken varieties. The salad bar, as many previous posters have noted, lacks the breadth and quality of Fogo, but still offers plenty to serve as second fiddle to what you really came here to do: eat lots of meat! The servers are friendly, the meat men are on the ball and personable, and the overall experience is excellent. Where else can you get that much meat for $20? I haven't found it yet. read more

This is not Fogo de Chao, but if you're looking for a cheaper suburban alternative, this is fine. We tried out this place with my mother-in-law. It was easy to get a reservation on a Saturday night which is a definite rarity in Maple Grove. The restaurant is big with tons of seating, but yes, you'll be sitting very close to your neighbors. Like Fogo, there is a salad bar option and a salad+meat option. Just pick the salad+meat option (unless your a vegetarian). Trust me, you won't be satisfied with just that salad bar when the meat starts arriving for your fellow diners. Decent salad bar, although there were some strange options up there like beef stroganoff. I appreciated the variety of salads. You get a trio of sides with your meal including those scrumptious little cheese buns and polenta fries. I can live without the plantain bites, though. There is a good variety of meat here with some things that differ from Fogo including grilled pineapple and a daily fish (also chicken hearts - cue "ewww"). We enjoyed the top sirloin, the bacon-wrapped turkey and the garlic beef especially. Some of the meats were drastically undercooked, though, and we had one server who seemed to keep getting stuck with them. Thankfully, he recognized when the meat was too rare and didn't just plop it on your plate. Overall, this meat doesn't seem to be as good of quality as Fogo - something we all noticed. Also, the pace is different. There can be LONG waits between skewers and the in-demand meat seems to disappear quickly. Take advantage of the gauchos that ask if there's anything they can hunt down for you or you'll just keep seeing that grilled pineapple go by. Having been to these kind of places a few times, my best advice is to quickly abandon the cuts you don't love. Taste it and if it doesn't wow you, move along to something worthy of your valuable stomach space. read more

Took 6 attempts to make an online reservation. System didn't sent confirmation and wouldn't allow me to review reservations. I finally got a screenshot of it however and we were on the books. When we showed at 3:53 for our 4pm we were told we had to wait in the entry. We couldn't be seated until after 4. More people came in however and they showed them back. This doesn't make sense. I understand you're switching staff over for dinner but to make us wait when there are 20 tables ready and the manager explicitly told the hostess all stall but one are clocked in was ridiculous. Our serve never introduced herself. Another server is who explained the process and walked away. The hot bar and salad bar were decent. Polenta was old and cold but the rest was pretty good! The Gauchos were great. THEY are why there are two stars. The Gauchos were attentive and on the ball. Bummer that it wasn't until 4:25, 25 minutes into dinner that all dinner meats were even available and making the rounds however. Meat cuts were very fatty on the top sirloin. When we finally finished (again, no acknowledgement of anything during dinner from our server) we were told of the option to have raspberry sauce on the cheesecake. Yummy. The cheesecake in the foyer on the trolley looked amazing. We asked for it to go as we were full. Sadly we got home and realized the slices were half the size of the ones on the trolley. Minus the tons of fat the food was decent but overall experience left a lot to be desired. For $75 (with coupon) this should have been a better experience. As someone with 10+ years restaurant management experience myself I try and give them the benefit but this was a big bummer all around in many ways. read more

TIP to anyone is we suggest to come here either OPENING TIME or COME AFTER like 1/1:30pm. We came after 1:30 and there was only a few parties, so they were pretty attentive. So if you a person who wants their MEAT NOWZZZZZZ, then this is the time to do it. I understand why SERVICE might be affected by how BUSY they are. So if you can wait, socialize, eat your salad bar plate, then anytime is fine. A last little thing about our experience was when we got our check at 3:30 the bill said dinner (lunch window ends at 5pm). And when I gave the check back it took like 10 mins before we saw it again. The place was a good size but on the smaller side space wise and I felt like I was invited into someone's dining room for dinner. The hospitality by the entire staff matched the atmosphere. If I had to rate the meats that were served: Chicken hearts - Not my bag Everything else - Very Very good Bacon wrapped pork - Off the charts, over the top, I could add any number of similar terms here. it sounds redundant (swine wrapped in swine) but trust me it is amazing Before I forget, they had a very good and delicious spread on bar of salads and things also They only negative I could come up with is that I live 431 miles away from here. Had a party of six for lunch on a Saturday. They were busy, but we had reservations so we had no problem being seated. I had bought a Groupon. I have been to Texas De Brazil in Schaumburg, IL. It is very upscale (probably very similar to Fogo here in MN) TDB doesn't even list their prices on the website but I remember them being around $55-60 per person. Now, with that being said, I found this less expensive version very nice. No, it's not with white tablecloths or fancy floral arrangements. You get what you pay for. We had excellent, efficient and friendly service. Meat was very tender and plenty to be had of it. Salad bar is not as upscale as your high end Brazilian steakhouse, but it was a nice variety and very tasty. We enjoyed chicken hearts, flat iron steak, top sirloin, polenta, sweet and sour chicken, marinated chicken and lamb just to name a few. read more

Had reservations for 11 a.m. on Father's Day. They open at 11 a.m. and it was obvious they didn't have their staff to work early and prepared for the big day. Three gals at hostess desk were super disorganized and appeared overly confused. We checked in, stepped to the side and waited as three tables of 5 without reservations were seated before us. We had kids with us so we didn't go unnoticed. One of them should have stopped and questioned why we were just hanging out. Finally my husband asked what their plan was for seating us. They sat us in a section without a waitress apparently as we continued to watch people come in, get seated and start eating. So all and all the service was poor and didn't get any better including us waiting for about 15 minutes for drinks and then waiting another 20 minutes to see the dessert tray at the end of our meal. Another aspect of the visit that were less than optimal was the salad bar dynamic. There is no place for a line and because of the spacing and size of the salad bar, people were backed up in disarray and you could tell people were getting irritated having to stand in line stacked up. Salad bar was good. Appetizers they brought to the tray were more for show. Didn't taste that great with the exception of the bananas. Meats were good but as other reviewers have pointed out there were long absences between their visits and there was no organization in trying to reach individuals who hadn't had the opportunity to try a certain meat. We will go back because it is half the price of Fogo but when we arrive I plan to alert the manager of our last experience and ask if there is a spot to be seated that might give us a better experience. read more

We love this place in Maple Grove. The meats are all excellent and a great variety of options. The salad bar is not as great as competitor steakhouses - the cold salads could use some work and fresh recipes. I overlook that and stick to the bread rolls and mashed potatoes and leave most room for the meat. read more

We went here for a friend's birthday. They were very accommodating for a big party of 25. Our waitress was very nice. The service staff was the best part of our experience. The majority of us felt disappointed because the food was mediocre. The salad bar barely had any food. We sat towards the back of the restaurant so by the time the food got to us, there was enough serving for 1 or 2 people. We found ourselves waiting longer for the food as well as appetizers. When it comes down to it, we left realizing we make better steak at home. read more
