We received a gift certificate from our relatives at Christmas and decided to use for our anniversary on 1/22/25. The ambiance was exquisite and stunning. Actually the entire building was incredible. Our two servers Denise and Abi were attentive and at our beck and call. The food was attractively prepared and delicious. The prices were a little more than other restaurants but was well worth it. We couldn't eat all the food so we took quite a bit home. We highly recommend this restaurant but more so for special occasions as it's a special place. We will be back. read more

My husband and I went on date night on a Tuesday when they weren't too busy and we had the best service. We booked our table online. On arrival, we were greeted by professional staff, and we were sat immediately. It felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant the way we received such excellent service by Denise. She had expert knowledge of the wines as well as the menu and had robust knowledge of the artwork. She provided excellent recommendations regarding the menu. The chef was phenomenal and everything was cooked to perfection. We started the meal with the escargot. It was my first time having escargot in the shell. Felt extra fancy. Served with additional utensils I had never used. I hope you are entertained by the video I have attached. next was a starter of feta cheese and olives with a flight of wine. Our server might have been a Somalia given how amazing she was with educating us on the wines we tasted. After our second round of appetizers, we did decide to indulge in some soups. The French onion soup was superb. It was broiled with a very thick layer of cheese on top. Chunks of French bread within the French onion soup made for a delightful treat to find. My husband had their clam chowder. He felt the clam chowder was exquisitely homemade. He didn't even offer me a bite to try! For our main course, we ordered the salmon wellington and the rack of lamb. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly medium rare. My husband paired the rack of lamb with the mashed potatoes. I went with the salmon wellington, which was a rare treat! I upgraded my side to get the mushroom risotto. I highly recommend both entrees! Lastly, we finished had the flourless cake for dessert. It was so rich and decadent. We took an impromptu tour of the facility, taking in the artwork and exquisitely decorated interior. Great food. Barely adequate service. Live music. All contributes to making dinner a bit of a wonderful event. For foodies, this is one of the few restaurants in Boise that are worth a visit. All aspects of the food were excellent: selection, quality, preparation, presentation. All outstanding. Soups and salad are excellent. Mains delicious. Didn't try dessert. Confident that you can try anything on the menu, and it will be better than expected. As has been noted by other Yelpers, service is probably not up to par. Still, Roghani's is not that expensive, and the service wasn't that off. So, still leaving at 5 stars. My recommendation: remember, you are there to have a great night. Tables are pretty close, so don't expect an intimate ding experience. But, also not very loud. Nice. They have a live singer on Friday's and Saturday's. An old time crooner in the Frank Sinatra style. Definitely adds to the experience and isn't a distraction. If you are looking for a special night, definitely worth considering. read more

I highly recommend this place!!! This is definitely hidden away and does not receive nearly as much recognition as it should. It's a wonderful, unique environment. Extremely pleasant. The servers are super nice, very on top of it. They create a comfortable environment while still providing top-notch service. When I went, they also had a live singer that was absolutely outstanding. The singer only receives payment from tips, so if you go while he is there, please tip him! Really wonderful vibe in here. The food itself is also superb, to match the rest of the restaurant. This Review is mostly in regards to the Afternoon Teas: (I've attended one on a Saturday as well as one on a Wednesday.) unfortunately... both times were lackluster at best... although waitstaff for other tables looked to be good, even possibly great... both times I've gone the actual table service at my table has been quite poor. (Also broken equipment, inconsistent gluten free experiences, unhappy staff before service even starts...) Also- absolutely would not recommend for high risk folks during era of Covid-19. (Yes they took people's temperatures, but didn't seem to enforce proper mask wearing to all staff... all staff, mask worn properly- being the key... ) I should note I usually don't write reviews with negative aspects... I usually simply don't review those places... but since I gave feedback on the Feedback card, gave detailed feedback to the mgr via email (per mgr request)... but to no response... after spending hundreds there both times, & recommending it to many many the last 5 years... I will no longer recommend. So I do not recommend the restaurant, do not recommend the teas, & I also do not recommend for events. (5 years of hearing of others, in addition to my own- of the very inconsistent service is enough.) Just know if you chose to go- know that it could be a good experience...or a very poor one. (And yes this also unfortunately extends to the Camille Beckman Gift Shop & her products.) Caveat: I do recommend the delicious local honey avail for purchase in the gift shop. read more

High tea. First quiche which was ok. Then salad. Pinkie fingernail slice of tomato and sliver of carrot. That's what they call salad with veggies I guess. Then 3 very VERY Small triangle "sandwiches": egg salad, chicken, and cucumber. I asked about the 4th - the lox as the menu said 4 little bites but she said they didn't have any. Oh. Disappointing. The rest is all cookies and sweets that are marginal. They did not appear to be homemade but rather bought in bulk. Maybe I'm wrong. We took some home but they ended up in the trash. Not worth the calories. If I'm going for calories it better be worth it snd nothing was worth it. Then some little kid was loudly banging on the piano in the hall which went on for a few minutes which was very annoying and echoing throughout the large hall and tea room. I won't return. Unfortunately I had high expectations. We came out on a night an event was going on. So if you want to try this place I suggest you ask if they are hosting an event before making the reservation. We were not told when making the decision and when we arrived we struggled to find parking. We were 1 of 5 tables in the actual restaurant and had arrived early to walk the grounds. They told us they could seat us early and then we waited 30 min before the singer took it upon himself to bring us some water. I suppose we should have realized that we would be waiting repeatedly through the night for general service needs. It was our special night and both of us had looked forward to this for months. We are very busy and rarely get to go out on a Friday. We love meals as an experience so me make a point to pair and document in a food journal the primer destinations with elaborate entries from all over Spain and the United States. (Only recently started sharing on yelp) I'd been raving about the short ribs I was served at a function a few months ago and wanted my husband to experience the risotto (must point out the best in the area). Something was not the same with the short ribs as I remembered still very good but the texture was different. We learned a new chef had just started so he will be fine tuning and should not be judged on his first day with an event of 300 in the next room. Again I must point out the [Food was very good and delicious] but unfortunately it was cold and by the time we got our wine it was very cold. The server whom we had told we wanted to make sure and pair our wine with each of our dishes seemed to understand and insisted we taste the house vineyard wines. First Photo: starting with an appetizer, we chose the wines we each wished to go with the escargot and he returned eventually to take the rest of our order. We placed our orders. 1st off he dropped off the salad and ran away. Our choice would have been a fun cocktail from the menu that would have possibly complimented the beet salad had he returned or even checked back on us (2nd course) thank goodness for the singer who noticed our water glasses were empty again. We sat wondering when he would return so we could order the glass to go with our entrees. Then came the 3rd course, he took our empty glasses and I chose a Pino noir and then as my husband was trying to ask for the glass he wanted the server walked away. 10 minutes passed we were, basically a second thought. My husband had to flag him down. Then he eventually returned buying our 2nd glasses (which was the right thing to do considering it was not the wine my husband had hoped to pair with the short rib) but we really would have rather had hot food with wine. It was another long wait. We were so bummed we opted out of coffee and desert. I stoped taking photos of the food after I lost inspiration. After another long wait for a check he returned and made a comment about how we should come back and order desert sometime. Hard to say if we will ever even try. First, the wait was absolutely ridiculous.. 20 minutes for the server to greet us. We ordered and then our food arrived 1 hour later... which would have been ok if they were busy. The staff were nice but...I don't know it felt a little odd. They sat us at our table and the dinning room was very beautiful. We were the second table to be sat as I assume they had just opened up for the evening. It took our waiter over 5 minutes to bring a wine menu, didn't get a regular menu until 10 minutes after we were sat and didn't get to order our food or wine until 20 minutes after we were sat. I could understand if they were busy but like I said there was only one other table sat and there was plenty of staff wondering around. About 10 minutes after we were sat a party of 4 were sat in the center of the dinning room and they were treated like royalty as at least 4 staff were waiting on them and talking and joking around while we were sitting right next to them being completely ignored. Our waiter was very nice and everything but it just felt like we were not worth their time. The only reason I am giving this place a 3 star review is because their food was absolutely delicious the the place was beautiful. We are willing to give them another chance in the future because the food was so good but my expectations will be a little lower so I am not as disappointed again. I talked a friend into going to dinner on Friday evening. We shared a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and started with the mussels and clam appetizer. After our first taste she was mad at me because I opted to choose only 1lb. They have an option of 1 or 2lbs. I said yes yes I'm so sorry but we have more to eat. She ordered the portobello mushroom cap meal that is filled with sautéed veggies. This THIS was hands down the best vegetarian dish I have ever tried. But then again I enjoy meat so I might not be the best judge. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli with sage brown butter sauce. It was to be honest a little too sweet for my liking. I felt like I was eating a desert wrapped in pasta. But I'm more of a savory dish person and it's one of their best sellers. The sautéed seasonal veggies that came with it were delicious! So please if you like that be your own judge and try it. The ambiance, the service, and the evening was a 10/10 for me. I was shocked at our bill and in a good way! For an appetizer, 2 entrees and bottle of wine it was about $130 before tip. I mean to not deal with downtown and crowds where your forgotten about this was beyond amazing! read more

My wife and I had the good fortune of dining here yesterday. The experience was first rate. Every staff member from the initial hostess and greeters, the fantastic singer, the gregarious wandering GM, and our waiter were warm, funny, engaging, and made you feel like an honored guest and family all at the same time. The ambience is gorgeous, But the real star is the food. Our GRILLED VIOLETTA ARTICHOKES (Steamed and grilled Italian Violetta artichokes, drizzled with balsamic syrup, served with garlic aioli) was one of the most amazing appetizers we have ever eaten. Incredible texture, flavor, just truly memorable. By far the tastiest artichokes we have ever eaten. My BRAISED BEEF RIB (Beef short ribs with Shitake mushroom au jus in a Roghani Vineyards red wine reduction of Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Served with seasonal garden vegetables and Chateau garlic whipped potatoes) were tender, with a deliciously rich dark sauce and perfectly roasted vegetables. My wife's PACIFIC SALMON WELLINGTON (Salmon from Wellington is a proper salmon, presented in formal attire. Our King Salmon filet is marinated in a blend of parmesan, spinach and cream cheese, sautéed with shallots and garlic wrapped in a light, flaky pastry topped with a lemon beurre blanc) was a unique and flavorful dish she thoroughly enjoyed. This place is super fancy, on the range of you really want to impress a date or mark a special celebration. That being said, it is very old school, lovely tablecloths and chandeliers and flocked wallpaper. It's heavy on the euro-centric opulence. The food is delicious and cooked to perfection. Though the place is advertised as a French restaurant, the food is closer to European fusion. For example, a salmon wellington rather than a beef wellington and some middle eastern dishes. If you are looking for more traditional French food like you might find at Bacquets or Petite 4, you will find less of that here. The chef is very friendly and likes to mingle with the guests. There were two drawbacks to the place. First, there seems to only be one waiter for the entire place and given the premium prices and the upscale ambience you would expect service not to be so slow. They might have just had a bad night because of the weather. Also, for premium prices you expect premium service and premium food. The service aspect just wasn't quite there, simply due to them being short-staffed in the front of the house. Perhaps it's the usual pandemic blues and things will right themselves after things normalize; I'll return and find out. read more

I've been a few times here for their Wednesday afternoon tea. The whole building is gorgeous, marble floors, Crystal chandeliers and sumptuous decor. The tea is held in a large ballroom sized room with tables that are so pretty. The tea menu is set, fall of 2023 started with soup, quiche then the tiered plates with savory sandwiches and fancies, not forgetting the pot of tea where there's a variety to choose from. The wait staff are genteel and attentive, but not to the point of being a pest. Most ladies dress up for the occasion. And for each guest there's a small gift of a pretty container of hand cream. Perfect for birthdays or celebrations or, just because. It's pricey, but the experience and quality make it worthwhile. read more

Noting Yelp puts this in categories of wine bars and Italian restaurants and listed as if a new place, it may be useful to share that this is not a new Italian eatery. It is the same restaurant space as what was Le Coq d'Or (The Golden Rooster) in Chateau des Fleurs building. It has the same ownership by the Roghani family, same service format and roughly similar menu prices. What has changed is the name and menu items. The menu still contains a few French food items among starters and entrees and now also includes options with Mediterranean bent. Given the owners' Persian heritage, when I heard Coq d'Or was being renamed (Yelp shows Coq d'Or closed) and learning their experienced Chef (Richard Jimenez who arrived in mid 2017 after a stint at Red Feather) had departed and seeing the owners' family name now attached, I was hoping for more in the way of traditional Persian fare which is not found in the Boise area. Dishes like fesenjan, tahdig, ghormeh sabzi, and albaloo polow (a favorite of mine with rice and sour cherries). But that was not to be. Still, the new menu for what owners call "a quilt" of Mediterranean food is interesting. Changing the menu from French focus may even have been necessary for them to do given nearby in Eagle there is an extraordinarily good French and European fine food - casual dining restaurant with a master French chef at kitchen helm with "all people are welcome" vibe in front of house run by his wife and this must have been competition for the same French - European food fan diners. (Ironically, this Chef, Franck Bacquet, launched Coq d' Or's kitchen in roughly 2015 and put the restaurant on the map until he left in June 2016.) Rogahani's new menu entree prices are in the range of $28 (for a chicken dish named Coq d'Or which, interestingly, is an Italian preparation including red sauce pasta but with French title for the dish) to $38 for the single Persian option koobideh (seasoned ground lamb cooked on a skewer) to $64 (for rib eye) so a meal here if ordering appetizer (roughly $9 - 15) through entree with wine and dessert included is a dining investment. Given owners history of difficulty retaining Chefs, it will be interesting to see how whomever is in the kitchen now works across this kind of menu. The Roghanis also own a winery and you'll see a number of bottles in different varietals with their name on the label on their wine list. Given the formal architecture and abundance of crystal chandeliers - the venue is also an event space for things like weddings and sits on a big piece of land with surrounding gardens - the elaborate setting is a good fit for diners who want a sense of " dress up exclusive". That is not me but different formats fit different diners. Accessibility: Dining space is all on one floor and ample room between tables. Parking: On site. Hours: Currently serving dinner starting at 5p on Tues - Sat. Lunch on Fri and Sat. read more

I had such high hopes. The grounds are beautiful and the service was excellent from the moment we walked in. My wife and I went on Valentine's Day and they had a special 4 course Valentines menu which looked great. I got the bacon wrapped filet mignon and ordered it medium rare. It came out medium well on the outside and it wasn't until I got to the last couple bites that it was med rare. I got a lobster tail with it and it had little flavor and wasn't that easy on the eye. My wife did enjoy her salmon Wellington. I honestly wouldn't be too bent out of shape if it wasn't $90/person for the special menu. I'm an extra star because the service was great. I forget her name but our server was awesome. The host was very funny and personable. We'll definitely go back to give them another chance but it was for sure a bad start. Last week my extended family of 14 gathered here for dinner. We were amazed at the hospitality and service we received. The food was absolutely fantastic. We were treated to a private room as a large group with dedicated servers. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The chef came out and visited our table several times and even shared his family's canned pickles with us after the meal. I had the braised lamb shank and it was some of the best lamb I've ever had. I've been blessed to travel all over the world and can honestly say that this dining experience was on par with anywhere else I've been. My hat is off to to the chef and his staff. Went to Roghanis on a whim. Have driven past it hundreds of times. The food and the service was great. The atmosphere is definitely old school French Continental. But no pretentiousness. Our waiter Gilles is from Paris and was very funny and helpful. He didn't rush us and didn't interrupt us unnecessarily. The lounge singer Adam sang the classic "standards" and was just the right volume. All four in our party agreed that the food was way above the average local restaurants in town. The wine braised short ribs and the rack of lamb were especially delicious. Don't be afraid to dress up a little and treat you and your SO to a nice night out. read more

Wow!!! What an unexpected gem in Eagle! We booked on a whim and didn't expect to be blown away by the atmosphere, decor, live music, attentive and personable service, and the delicious food (much of which came straight from the nearby garden). The bread and butter was delicious and the kids enjoyed their sparkling lemonade "straight from France." Most of my family opted for pasta but I had the beet salad and salmon Wellington and I highly recommend both. This gorgeous event center/restaurant is clearly a labor of love by the Roghani's and they treated us and our children like honored guests. We left with a jar of bread & butter pickles, a soft spot for the chef, and a new favorite dining location for any night of the week. The best part? You can still book a table there last minute, but probably not for long. I want to get married again (sorry Hubs) just so I can do it here and amaze my family and friends. Stunning chandeliers, an outside backdrop indistinguishable from the Italian countryside, and elegant wallpapers/furnishings/flowers make this place a top choice for any quality event. I took my husband here for his birthday dinner tonight. We loved everything about this fine dining experience. The food was wonderful and reasonably priced. We both had a cup of heirloom squash and carrot soup cooked with apple juice and ginger. My husband had the Risotto with Salmon which was excellent. It was served on butternut squash with green beans and summer squash. I had the butter nut squash ravioli with brown butter cream sauce with braised vegetables. Delicious! Our waiter Gilles was born and raised in Paris. He was kind enough to take a picture of my husband and I while giving us wonderful service. Nick Dennis, the general manager and chef also stopped by out table to visit explaining how the vegetables are grown right on site so everything is farm fresh. Also the entertainment, Adam Gottesman came to out table and played our song "At Last" for us. It was out of his range to sing but he was kind enough to accommodate us by including it in his repertoire. My husband received a complimentary creme brûlée for his birthday.... but next time I WILL splurge on the bread pudding my favorite. We are generally plant based, but for a birthday it is fine to go "flextarian!" We will return and definitely recommend this lovely restaurant. I met my Meetup group there for lunch, this was my first visit here. Beautiful establishment, classy and stately. My order consisted of 2 appetizers and dessert: 1 pound of clams in a brothy-creamy sauce, grilled artichokes and the bread pudding. Clams were great, artichokes were the best I have ever had. Probably lightly steamed, then brushed with oil and grilled! Wowzer, that the chokes elevated to nirvana-like level Bread pudding was good and best described as a prelude to fall served in a cast iron skillet. Prompt and friendly service. It was enjoyable to walk the long hallway in the building leading to the garden, and take in the numerous piece of art lining the walls. We took a glimpse at their larger dining room all set up for high tea. I plan on going there and experience it on a cold, snowy day this winter. We also visited the gift shop and found that the price point of most of their items was very reasonable. I purchase a cute wallet, a shawl and a necklace!!
