After several years of trying to find a competent company to install a wall heater, I came across Rohan&Sons from a church bulletin. Not only were the installers professional and courteous, they went to great lengths to make sure we were SAFE. It turns out that the gas valve may have been defective, and after 3 months of emails, phone calls, and numerous visits to my home checking the heater, Rohan&Sons did not give up - They continued to contact the manufacture on my behalf. Had to have a 60 year old furnace replaced and through a word of mouth recommendation called Rohan & Sons. They sent someone within the hour to give me an estimate which was very reasonable. They completed the job in 21/2 days and couldn't have been more professional, thoughtful and polite. It required at least 3 servicemen at a time who had to be in and out of the house and attic frequently. They always used drop cloths and a vacuume and couldn't have kept things cleaner and less intrusive. They ran into some unexpected issues with my electrical box, which required more time and expense on their part, but Tom stuck to his quote. I called and asked them to look at my heater. They came and looked at it then sent me a bill for 95.00. They never told me in advance that there was a charge. They also told me that they could get a kit to replace the parts that need fixing. Later I received a bill saying that they could only replace the whole thing for 2000.00 . They were not upfront and changed their verbal estimate after the fact. Not reliable. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY AS YOUR CHOICE FOR AIR CONDITIONING SERVICE: Last summer, Rohan & Sons came and replaced a motor on my a/c unit for just over $850 with a one year warranty, which conveniently broke just after one year. I called them this summer to come back and fix it once again and they sent someone, although it took quite a while for them to make the visit. After the service tech was finished, he told me I could do one of two things; replace the compressor for a temporary solution, or his recommended solution, replace the unit entirely. He said it's a very old unit, so it might take some time to find the replacement piece, but they'll contact me when they find it. I heard nothing for about another week, so I decided to call them to follow up. Darlene told me that she was unaware of the "temporary solution" and proceeded to give the phone to the owner of the company, John. John told me that his service tech never said there was a "temporary solution", although I'm completely certain he did. The owner of the company also proceeded telling me there is only option and its to replace the entire unit which would come to a total cost of over $5,600. Now this is where things begin getting interesting. I considered a second opinion, which ended up being a great idea. I called a new guy on a Friday and he was there the next day, Saturday morning (Rohan took nearly a week). He went up to my roof and came back down less than 30 minutes later and told me he can have the whole thing up and running that day, so he did his job and came back down to present a bill of only $416. The air condition is working flawlessly and has been since the new guy left. I was shocked to see how quickly he did the job and even more shocked to see how much more affordable it was after John (the owner of Rohan) telling me there is "only one solution". Additionally, he told me that the previous service tech (provided by Rohan) installed parts wrong and tried bypassing things rather than fixing them properly. I'm not extremely knowledgeable about air conditioning units, but he also kept mentioning something about the previous service tech not putting a "board" in there. Rohan said my unit was extremely old, so I asked him how old he thought it was and he chuckled and said it wasn't that old and that it was actually in fairly good condition. Before his inspection I asked him to check on the motor and asked him to tell me what he'd charge for that piece and installation, just out of curiousity. He came back down and said $240, without me telling him Rohan's rate of $850. AND ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS, I simply wanted to discuss my frustration with Rohan & Sons, so I gave them a call today and after hearing about these events, Darlene ended up raising her voice and even hung up on me. I run a business in Laguna Beach and it is truly disheartening that other Orange County businesses will run in such a dishonest manner. read more

Terrible! These guys should definitely be at the bottom of the list when looking for an air conditioning service provider. They over charge for very poor work. They are hostile and unwilling to correct mistakes. There are many options to choose from in San Clemente...these guys should not be one of them. read more

We called Dean at Rohan & Sons after another company quoted us a very high price for a new AC unit. We're so glad we made that call to Dean! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and did a wonderful job...at a great price! I never felt pressured by them and everything was explained to me. I just had my first experience with Rohan & Sons per a friends referral. We are extremely happy with the way we were treated. John was a dear heart and had Tom come out the next day. Tom was excellent and very professional and found the problem right away. Rohan and Sons was recommended by an employee of mine and they could not have been better. I actually had 4 bids to replace both A/C units and both furnaces in my home. After meeting Todd Rohan for the bid process we were sold. His knowledge and care for his work and for us was extremely evident. John Rohan was professional and was great at follow-up. As the bids came in Rohan and Sons were more than competitive, they were the lowest and in my opinion fairest priced. They came for three days, did their work and were done. It was obvious they take great pride in what they do. My wife is very cautious and she was so comfortable with Todd she left them alone in the house after a few hours. Just got new a/c and heater done. I can't say enough about how great these guys were. Aside from the new ac and heater working great, everything looks really clean. Every detail was done with skill and care and it shows. They ch caked out some unrelated noises and fixed them real quick...no extra nickel and diming. Also I had 2 sick kids at home during install...toddler and 5 month old...the guys were as quiet as possible, considerate of nap times, and were great with my toddler who was fascinated with everything they were doing.
