In addition to a variety of handrolls, they also offer sashimi sets and nigiri sushi. Our party enjoyed some shared starters and then ordered about 4 handrolls each. On the drink menus are cocktails, sake and beer. The service was friendly and we never felt rushed. The only downside was the limited parking at Hyatt Centric. They offer validated parking for 2 hours with a minimum spend of $35 and 4 hours of free parking with a minimum spend of $100. Had a dinner here as it was one of the recommended restaurants on the Hyatt Centric website. The location was easy to find as it was right around the corner from the Hyatt entrance. Reservations were easy to make and we were quickly seated down. Ordering can be done on the phone. 8/10 food with 2/10 service. The food itself was great...when we got it eventually since the service was brutally slow on this particular night. The restaurant looked to be properly staffed so it was a bit baffling why the service was like that. We ordered several hand rolls and appetizers which took about 20 minutes then ordered additional rolls, edamame, ginger and wasabi which took almost another 30 minutes with no updates or explanations from the staff. The restaurant was about 25% capacity and for 30 minutes it seemed like no food was coming out of the kitchen. My husband and I had been seeing Nori Bar all over TikTok, so we were excited to finally stop by for dinner. They're still in their soft opening, and the restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating. We were seated at the sushi bar, given menus, and ordered through a QR code, which was quick and easy. One of the best parts was being able to watch the chefs prepare the sushi right in front of us. We ordered a few pieces of nigiri, and they were incredibly fresh and delicious. My husband also ordered the wagyu with egg yolk over rice. It took a little while to come out, but he said it was absolutely worth the wait. It reminded him of a similar dish we had in Japan, and he thought this version was just as good--if not even better. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend checking it out. The second outpost of Nori Bar, located in the heart of Waikiki on busy Kuhio Ave, features an expanded space and expanded menu from their already popular Kaka'ako location. Clearly aimed at capturing foot traffic from the throngs of tourists, I was very pleased with the continued dedication to presenting excellent hand rolls with above average quality nori and authentic Japanese flavors. For example: Mentaiko with Yamaimo yam, or the Hokkaido Scallops with Yuzu Kosho. We visited for lunch and service was super fast and friendly, getting a table of 8 in and out under an hour. Portions are big! We've ordered their ToGo Bento's and I was surprised by the much larger portion you get. 3-4 per person will probably suffice the average appetite, especially if you order any appetizers. read more

My hubby and I came here for date night last night and it was exceptional. The restaurant was full, but they had open seating at the bar. We took it. I don't really like sitting at the bar, because we both don't drink. Thankfully, our bartender was really nice and we talked a bit. Jaimie was great. Go sit in her section. We were there for dinner, but I also wanted to know about breakfast. She told me that they were no longer serving breakfast and the restaurant now opens at 11am. She also told us about new items that the restaurant was serving. They're now doing maki rolls. They have a rainbow roll and a firecracker roll. My husband chose the firecracker roll $21. The roll was cut into eight pieces. Inside of the roll was spicy ahi and avocado. It was topped with maguro slices with crunchy flakes. It also came with spicy and kabayaki sauce. I got the kanimiso blue crab roll $9.50, yuzu Hokkaido scallop roll $7 and lychee soda $5. All of the seafood were fresh and firm. I tried a piece of the firecracker roll and it was delicious. The presentation was also stellar. It was bright and colorful. The hand rolls were on the smaller side, but also yummy. The kanimiso was rich and creamy; so good. The scallops were sweet. The only thing that was meh was the lychee soda. It didn't have any flavor at all and it wasn't sweet. It just tasted like carbonated water. Parking is at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach Hotel. I truly wish I was hungry, but the drinks and service were enough to bring me back in the future! I'm stoked to have stumbled in here after a long day of work, and even happier to have crossed paths with the FOH team member with the short hair and New England accent, because he is the hype man every restaurant needs and got me amped on everything happening here! This experience was special because this server was willing to listen to me as a guest and understand what I was after. This is a dying art in service, as servers are often incentivized to push certain dishes and programs or upsell guests to improve revenues and tips. This server took his time and shared openly about the business and spoke passionately about the food and drink, while sharing his personal experiences and those of the guests he had served to help inform my decisions. After a bit of back and forth, he knew I didn't want one of their signature cocktails even though I kept trying to talk myself into it, and he happily suggested exactly what I wanted and didn't see on the menu, a simple Japanese highball (whisky soda) plussed up with a lemon wedge. He brought it over and it was cold and crisp, with the perfect citrus hit, and I imagined being hungry so I could enjoy the extremely reasonably priced temaki being made by the chefs right in front of me. Nori Bar, as a name and brand, feels a bit generic, and that's not reflective of the experience awaiting you when you visit. Solid 4 as this place recently opened a couple of months ago steps away from The Laylow Hotel on Kuhio. Since we had arrived earlier that morning we were pretty hungry and ordered poke bowls as well as a Nigiri Flight of 5 of their premium roll sets. All five were great but our favorite was the blue crab truffle spread. The limu ahi poke bowl pictured was a bit skimpy on the fish and felt they could have added more to round out the presentation of the dish. Most items are online, but customers may ask for the physical menu. The Salmon Ikura Breakfast Bowl was delicious! The fresh, moist Salmon was nicely flaked... so I didn't have to cut Salmon into bite-sized pieces! The miso soup wasn't too salty and I appreciated the sides of tamago and tsukemono! Chef also gave me some ginger slices for flavor additions! Overall, it was a great foodie adventure! I think they had extra wait staff to help iron everything out but everyone was so attentive and incredibly nice. We had multiple servers stop by to ask if we were doing okay and it was enough to feel like they cared but not enough to get annoying. For our food we tried the sashimi sampler and got some hand rolls. Everything tasted incredibly fresh of high quality. The portions were a good size to feel full but not sick. Tried Nori Bar and overall had a really good experience. Everything tasted super fresh and the quality of the fish was definitely noticeable. I got the yellowtail toro, uni, and salmon handrolls and honestly loved all of them. The uni especially was amazing! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service was friendly throughout the meal. My only small caveat is that all of the handrolls came out at once, so by the time I got through them the seaweed lost some of its crispiness. I think spacing them out a little more would make the experience even better. Still definitely worth trying if you like fresh handrolls and quality seafood. This is a new location in Waikiki. We went three days after their opening and it was a good experience. Surprisingly it was very busy, although they did not have signage on the building and it still had the name of the previous business Ice monster. We had a reservation on OpenTable and therefore we were seated right away. Everything we ate was delicious, the hand rolls were freshly made with the seaweed very crisp. All were good but I must say, the blue crab truffle did not look appetizing at all. Just close your eyes and eat it and it will taste better than it looks LOL. I'm going to preface this by saying we went twice. One for dinner 5/5 and one for lunch 1/5 so the 2/5 is the average of both times plus my disappointment. Dinner: amazing. Delicious, fresh, wonderful service and the food came out fast. The hand rolls were served on nori wrapped in plastic to remove and keep it fresh. This was the highlight of the meal because the plastic allowed you to enjoy each roll slowly while not worrying about the nori getting soggy (impt for the next part of my review) since they send 5-6 rolls on a plate at once. My seven year old also got the mini udon and it was the perfect size for kids. The sashimi was also very fresh and generously sliced. No complaints! Lunch: we decided to come back because dinner was so good previously. However, this was highly disappointing. The hand rolls were not served on plastic wrapped nori and because of this the experience was not good. Even though the nori was longer so you can wrap it around again, it was soggy. Because of this we tried to eat them faster but they were still soggy and hard to bite, and some of the portions seemed small (unagi). The chicken teriyaki skewer was soft and tasty but the chicken skin skewer was soft and mushy - not sure if this was intentional but usually chicken skin is best crispy. I guess your experience depends on how they decide to serve the hand rolls which is disappointing because consistency is pretty important. read more

This is regarding take out. I just moved to Waikiki and while walking my dog I saw the multiple advertisements. I was intrigued. I enjoy sushi. Sat at one of the outside tables and ordered take out through the app. Went to get a matcha and came back and my order was ready. I was left standing at the front register with no greeting or acknowledgement for ten minutes or so. Fish wasn't fresh. Ordered the special roll set and a yuzu Kosho scallop hand roll that was so incredibly fishy. The cucumber roll was the best of the bunch. read more

The rice-to-protein ratio felt off (a bit too much rice, not enough fish), and the fish didn't taste as fresh as I was expecting. That said, the sushi chefs were friendly and the service was solid. It just felt a little overpriced for what you get. I'd give it a 3.5/5. This rating is primarily based customer service because customer service is just as important as quality of food. The quality of food was 5/5 with amazing taste and freshness. I would give customer service a 2/5. My friend group booked a reservation for 12 people and we agreed to sit in 2 separate tables (6 and 6) with bills being separate for each table. I had the poke bowl which came out immediately after being ordered. Then 5-10 mins later, 1 set of 6 hand rolls + 2 individually added hand rolls came out together. My bf had an order of 1 set of 5 hand rolls which took at lease 30 minutes to come out. We did ask the waiter to check the status of my hand roll and we were not given an estimated time of when it would come out only with the response of "it's coming out soon". We had to ask 3 different people about my bf's hand rolls. While the people at my table were eagerly waiting, we saw the waiter delivering a set of hand rolls to my other friend group table first which is fine, but everyone at my table were waiting for my bf to get his food before we touch ours. Also, keep in mind, I've been consistent with asking about my bf's order when the waiter walked passed us to the other table. It's okay to say that the waiter messed up, we would have been understanding, but we had to wait even longer for the last order. Also, looking back at the receipt, the poke bowl I ordered also came with miso soup that I never received (it's fine because it's not an additional charge). I understand the restaurant just opened, but they should expect to have more on a Friday night compared to weekday and have a system to work that they can modify and work off on AND make sure each customer gets all of the items they ordered. Also, my friend group basically took up half the restaurant, so they weren't THAT busy. I noticed that there was only one person working on hand rolls when the store is named "Nori" and there seemed to be too many servers at the restaurant not enough people working at the back of the house. I believe the manager walked out and asked our table how we were doing and I was honest and said "OK" because we were waiting on one order for 30 minutes. Manager's reason was that there were suddenly many orders at once so wait was longer. But no, the order was given to the wrong table first. It's okay to be honest if you are short staffed that day. I would have understood (I have been working with food industry for 5+ years), but seeing a set of hand rolls walked past our table to the next was very upsetting. Like I said. It's okay to say you messed up and own up to the mistake because mistakes happen. The apology that we got was 2 scoops of ice cream for my entire table to share with only 3 spoons. I honestly didn't want the ice cream. I wanted to be done with the dinner and leave. My table just gave my bf the ice cream instead because honestly, he deserved it the most.
