Zaffron Bloom in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. I found the ultimate hidden gem! It's very hard to find an authentic Persian restaurant in NJ has to be on your list-it is a family owned restaurant, everything is made with the freshest ingredients to serve Modern Persian Cuisine with a Middle-Terranean twist! They are also BYOB and family owned! PERSIAN MINT LIMONADA SOUR CHERRY SHARBAT HOUSEMADE SOUR CHERRY REFRESHER (SERVED FIZZY OR FLAT) KASHKE-E-BADEMJOON- Traditional Persian Dip made of Roasted Eggplant, Caramelized Onion, Kashke (Cured Yogurt), and Sautéed Mint Oil. It was my first time trying Persian food, so I didn't know what to expect! The moment I took my first bite of the Kebab "Barg" ... my tongue started to dance then my shoulders! The same thing happened for the Kebab Koobideh. Did I mention the Zaffron Rice?! My goodness the flavors were bold, fragrant, and completely unforgettable! THAT dinner so good, I went on a little food adventure a few days after across Manhattan, trying a few different Persian spots just to see if anything could compare. While some were decent, none of them matched what I had at Zaffron. It made me realize that if I want the REAL DEAL, I have to make the trip to Jersey. My friend and I loved it so much, we made it our little tradition to visit once every season! Zaffron = Welcoming atmosphere! Impeccable Service! A menu that keeps pulling me back! If you've never tried or want to taste the best Persian cuisine, this is the place to start!

Food was amazing. Owners were so so nice. Sumac fries and sauce were delicious and so flavorful. Combo platter was filling and meats were very tasty. Such a great spot. Mint lemonade is a must try, so yummy.

I actually happened to find this place because another restaurant was closed that I wanted to try on a Friday night. I'm very happy I got to try Zafron Bloom. In one word - flavor. Everything we had so much delicious fresh seasonings and packed with a punch. My boyfriend and I started with some fun drinks we've never tried. The sour Cherry drink was great, he tried the Persian lemonade and loved it too. We started with the dip trio and tried the hummus, lebne and an eggplant dip and they were all fabulous. We are the whole bowl of pita trying them all. For dinner I got the chicken kebab wrap and was a little worried it would be a plain and boring option but it was delicious. It came with a tzaziki dipping sauce but I barely needed it, the sauce on the wrap was perfect on its own. My boyfriend got kebabs and came with the famous saffron rice. The chicken was cooked to perfection. I am always a little weary to get chicken at any Mediterranean place, it's always either undercooked or overcooked, but this was truly perfection. Highly recommend trying a chicken skewer. With no room left for dessert there, we got some baklava to go and tried it the next day. Truly probably the best baklava I've ever had. I'll definitely be back to try out more menu items and of course get more baklava. Street parking is easy. The interior of the restaurant is small but it wasn't incredibly packed when we went on a Friday night which I'm sure will change as they get busier and more well-known. They were also very busy with takeout orders but everything flowed smoothly. It's definitely a family running this restaurant and you can tell. They are so nice and kind, they also kept bringing us samples of their crunchy rice - which was delicious. I'll be back!

I dream about going back. Entire dining experience was so perfect. Thing I would not skip out on: variety of saffron rice (we ordered several and they plate it for you) - sooo delicious. The balance of flavors with the saffron, sweet barberries and basmati is perfection. Also enjoyed the combination platter, salmon and crispy rice. Lamb, chicken and beef kebabs all incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. We were obsessed with their refreshments. Incredible mint lemonades with chia, pomegranate and many more to choose from. What made the experience even better is that it's a family owned business which gave patrons an energy that matched the cuisine. They were so sweet to my toddler and made us feel at home. We will be back many times and intend to eat everything on the menu in the next few months. Thank you all for a wonderful experience.

Zaffron Bloom in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, is a delightful addition to the culinary scene, offering a fusion of Modern Persian Cuisine with Middle-terranean influence. Helmed by Chef Shahin, whose years of catering experience have culminated in the realization of her dream restaurant, Zaffron Bloom promises a unique dining experience. The restaurant's namesake spice, saffron, is aptly celebrated for its rich history, cultural significance, and exquisite flavor profile.During our lunch visit, we were treated to a delicious meal that surpassed our expectations. The service was impeccable, exceeding the standard. Our decision to dine at Zaffron Bloom was influenced by a friend's glowing recommendation, and we're thrilled to have discovered this gem. Zaffron Bloom truly embodies the essence of "the spice of life" with its innovative approach to traditional Persian cuisine. Deliciousness!! To all Yelpers.... Guys we have to support small local business. It's more important than you can imagine especially during these times. Give them a try, we're sure you'll enjoy it. Be on the lookout... a little insider info, they'll soon be opening a market adjacent to Zaffron. Good luck with all and future ventures. @vinopotato.

To top it off I also got fried calamari, it was a little bit chewy overall still had flavor to it. My go to drink was a mint lemonade that they make it into a slushie. Turkish cuisine is a unique combination of flavors, spices, and herbs developed over thousands of years, influenced by the Central Asian nomads and Arabic, Persian, Italian, French, and Eastern European cultures. While New York has some great Turkish food if one knows where to look, most of it leaves some room for improvement. Could Jersey be better? The town of Carlstadt has mainly residential private homes, with a spattering of condos and garden apartments. The main shopping area is all of about three blocks long on both sides of the street. Translated from the Turkish language, meaning sultan, we have come to this family-owned/family-run establishment located on Hackensack Street since 2006 for Saturday dinner. The reservation was easily made by Google Assistant. Upon entering this hidden gem called Hünkar Restaurant as first-timers, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the staff inside a cozy room, where ethnic pictures and decorations as well as the music all add to the vibe. A great view of the NYC skyline is visible from their enclosed back patio. Their menu features Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine with a modern twist and serves alcohol. As an appetizer, we decided on the Kibbeh (Icli Kofte), Calamari (Kalamar), and Cigarette Borek (Sigara Boregi). For our main meal, we opted for Chicken Saute (Taouk Sote), Shrimp Kebab, Lamb Shish Kebab (Kuzu Sis Kebab), and Chicken Shish Kebab (Tavuk Kebab). All Kebab meal accompanied by rice, char-grilled tomatoes, peppers, and a small salad. Warm, fluffy pida bread with a crisp crust started our meal. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor and is beautifully presented, from the fact that Turkish families from all over the area eat here. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very professional; our server was Akincan "John," the owners' son. The price was comparable to the area with the right portion. We can recommend this place.

The baba ghanoush was everything I love in a good eggplant dip and was a definite win in our book - seasoned, textured, and slightly smokey. They're like elongated loaves of marinated and spiced ground chicken, and delicious with rice and a dollop of yogurt sauce. We preferred these over the chicken kebab, which were just as flavorful but quite a bit drier. Both entrees were served with a grilled tomato and pepper, which were still warm and charred from the grill. They also came with small side salads, with lightly dressed and slightly wilted greens. Everything was delicious, but I'll leave the food writing to the Yelpers with more sophisticated palates than I. (Actually, I take that back--the fresh-baked pita was amazing and I would eat it with/for every meal if I could.) The real reason I wanted to leave a review the service, which went above and beyond. Let me start by saying that Al Basha takeout has a wonderfully efficient order-number-based system for managing the hundreds of orders they get on a daily basis. But if, say, the person who placed the order sent you to pick up the food with the wrong order number, you're going to struggle, and that's not the restaurant's fault. With that prelude and without getting into the details, we'll just say there was a user error issue with my order that led to a mix-up and a very late pick-up. Everyone from the Al Basha staff with whom I interacted could not have handled it any better. They were very apologetic, not because they did anything wrong (to be clear, they didn't), but because they were disappointed our meal hadn't gone well and wanted to fix that. The top priority of the manager with whom I dealt was making sure that my wife--it was Mothers' Day--got the best meal possible, and made sure to send me home with fresh bread and a treat for the moms. It was true hospitality, and greatly appreciated. TLDR version: great food, excellent service, out-of-this-world pita, and make darned sure you have the right order number.

The chicken kebab was dry and the shawarma was a bit too sour for my liking (not sure if they squeezed lemon on it or something). The kofta was okay but nothing spectacular. The filet mignon, was a major let down. My server didn't ask how we'd like it cooked, which is medium rare for my family. It came back well done. He said everyone usually prefers it to be well done, but I think that's a mistake that shouldn't be made and preference should always be asked, especially with steak. We asked for it to be swapped, and it still came back well done. When we let them know again, they brought it back a little on the rare side, which is fine for my family, but had it been another family, not so sure. I'm sure they have hundreds of orders for the char grilled meets, so I'm a little confused on why the technique has not already been established My favorite dish had to be the makanik - which is pan seared lamb sausages finished with sweet and tangy pomegranate molasses. I usually don't like lamb because of the gamey flavor but these sausages didn't have that. I didn't taste much of the pomegranate molasses. The arugula & beet salad would've been good if the pomegranate molasses vinaigrette was less sweet. The stuffed grape leaves were also a bit too sour. The lemon was just taking over the entire flavor profile. I didn't really taste the tomato or parsley. The falafel platter was good but nothing different than other falafels that I've had. The mint lemonade was so refreshing. Almost everyone in the restaurant had one and I understand why. The mint is not overpowering I had high expectations because I've seen this place on instagram but I'm afraid they were not met. Service was good, but the food definitely needs some work. There's valet parking, which i recommend because it's hard to find street parking
