    Mad Shrimp roll
    Kelsey B.

This is a great spot in Lakeview! I have a fish allergy so I'm not very well-versed in sushi, but the menu was huge enough to where there were plenty of shellfish and veggie options. The staff were also extremely friendly and accommodating of my allergy! I had the mad shrimp roll and miso soup - both were fantastic!

Sushi were fresh and delicious! Ate the "Green in Heart", "Tequila", and "Meguan". All were fantastic!

Fantastic!! Delicious sushi rolls and will definitely return when visiting the city again. Not good for big groups as the restaurant is on the smaller side. Excellent, interesting, and high quality. Service was excellent and they were SO GOOD with our 2 year old, who also had a great time thanks to the staff here!

Crabby Crab, Caribbean, Spicy Tataki, Spicy Tuna Roll (Hand) and Spicy Scallop Roll (Hand)
    Tracy L.

Great selection of rolls for the price and quality. There were several options I wanted to try, but the hand rolls are why I ordered from here- it seems challenging to find hand rolls for delivery... I really enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Hand Roll, but the Spicy Scallop Hand Roll was a tad fishy/slimy. My favorite was the Caribbean, followed by that Crabby Crab. The Spicy Tataki was too salty, but it was okay. Super generous with wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce packets. Many other rolls I was debating to get, so I'm sure I'll order again!

Always such a great experience with Rollapalooza! Fresh, fast, so kind. We love rollapooza so much! Included a free edamame for us - we are lifelong customers!

First California Roll, second is the smoky salmon, and the last one is dragon roll.

This place was the best place we have been to since visiting Chicago, we were looking around and found this place that looked good. Soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted by a nice lady name GiGi. She was very pleasant and kind, let us take our time ordering and even allowing us to change something a minute after ordering, we got the dragon roll which is the last roll in the picture, California roll that was a little more then just a California roll but I forgot the name, which is the first roll in the pic, and the roll in the middle is the Smokey salmon roll. All of the rolls were amazing and would recommend all of them. The place was nice and not busy at all. It was like a small place that has great service and good food.

Tiny space but huge flavor. Super nice server - she recommended the Anne Thumbs Up which was fresh and SO addictive. We wanted a second roll! Love how each roll came with a good number of pieces, too. They were nice to accommodate making special rolls for the kids. Go early because it does fill up- even on a Monday night!

This place has AMAZING SUSHI!!! As a vegetarian, I really appreciated the wide range of speciality vegetarian sushi options and in general, they have an insanely large menu with so many options! The portions are good for the price and the place itself is a cute with fast service! They also have free chocolate mochi icecream at the end which was so cute and sooo good!! Highly recommend stopping by!

    Pink Flower, Meguan, Rollapalooza Roll!

Absolutely the best sushi spot in Chicago and best kept secret! Wide variety on the menu of cooked and raw rolls, great portion size for the price, and amazing service always. BYOB for drinks, and perfect ambiance for just a casual dinner or date night.

    La Bomba and Black Monster

So delicious, I'm shocked I haven't heard of it sooner. I tried the black monster roll and it was some of the best sushi I ever had. It was cool to try to black rice as I've never had it before. I also loved the bomba ice cream. I've never seen a dessert like it at a sushi restaurant. Definitely will be coming back to dine in :)

We went into this sushi experience really excited because they have an extensive selection of rolls to choose from. Our rating of each roll is just "meh". The presentation could have been much better--many of the rolls were cut unevenly or the sauce was haphazardly poured so it made the rice soggy. Overall, we were disappointed by the experience, especially when you take price and portion size into consideration. Miso Soup: Nothing special but only $2.50 Rolla Blossom: Fresh taste but the asparagus flavor really lingered Aloha Roll: The roll was not bad but the sauce was so overpowering...at times, it just tasted like pineapple Salmon Avocado Roll: Solid but could have been portioned a bit better Pink Flower: Our favorite roll--it is fresh and filled with lots of fish. The asparagus flavor was strong though. We've had this at other sushi spots as well. Note: It is essentially the same as the Rolla Blossom app except it has rice. Hamachi Truffle Roll - Both of our least favorite. I could only really taste pesto...and there was no mention of "pesto" in the description. Also, maybe we got a bad batch of the soy sauce, but it was SUPER sour. We will not be returning, unfortunately.

I got the salmon bowl, the salmon avocado maki, and tuna crispy rice. The salmon bowl was definitely my favorite. The salmon was cooked very nicely so that it wasn't dry, and I loved the miso glaze that they put on top. It added a very nice sweetness to the salmon and created a very nice char. It was pretty small portion size though. The salmon avocado maki was solid too. It was the most filling! You get 5 pieces :) The tuna crispy rice was just alright. The rice part was good, but there was a bit too much mayo in the tuna. The miso soup that came complimentary with it was good too! I like how generous they were with the seaweed. Such a nice vibe inside! It's definitely a nicer spot, but still casual enough for lunch. I wanna come back for dinner! Service was quick and server was kind.

It clearly is for all their locations. Unfortunately, here at Chinatown's location, when they attempted to scan the card, the staff said it does not work and only works at the Printer's Row location. I ended up calling the Printer's Row location and had the team talk to the manager at the Chinatown location, and the manager at the Chinatown location kept their stance that it does not work, stating Printer's Row location does not know why the gift card does not work at the Chinatown location, and will not make any exceptions to accepting the gift card. Thankfully at the Printer's Row location, they are stating it's due to their system being new as they are a new location, and reason why the gift card is not working at all the locations yet which they are now working on to fix so it does not happen to any other customer moving forward. I just wish the Chinatown location showed some compassion to address the issue and still accommodate the inconvenience instead of us having to go back to the Printer's Row location to use the gift card Price: Approximately $20, not including tip for 2 people. There are lunch specials! Ambience: Indoor Seating Overall: Worst experience, especially to follow up my birthday celebration

Luckily, when we arrived, they had room for us, and I was so grateful. We sat on the patio, which has a beautiful view of Lake Michigan, especially if you can get a table near the glass. Unfortunately, there was one major downside: the lights Miru uses on the patio attract bugs--and a lot of them! The lights could not be turned off, and because the patio was full, we couldn't move to another area. I basically had to put mind over matter to keep myself from getting completely disgusted. Thankfully, the food was so good that it distracted us from the bugs for a while. We enjoyed the edamame, shishito peppers, seared salmon belly, kampachi, several of the signature raw bites, spicy bluefin tuna crispy rice, chicken karaage, wild mushroom sizzling rice, and the black cod. Everything was absolutely delicious! Despite the bug situation, the food and beautiful lakefront setting made Miru a memorable dining experience.

My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.
