I feel like it tastes pretty fresh to me which gives me a reason to come back. They also have Musubis there but never tried them. This place is in a really cute food pod area with picnic tables outside. I really liked the burrito I got-the northern lights. I like that you can make any menu item into a bowl, burrito, or salad. They also had musubis and a ton of appetizers. My burrito was only 13$ which I think is a great deal considering how expensive sushi in Portland can be. It was also a good filling portion. First time ordering here, and unfortunately it will be my last. The customer service was extremely disappointing. When we walked in around 6:40 p.m. on 8/5, the employee with pink/red hair looked over her shoulder, made eye contact with us, and then looked away without greeting or acknowledging us and blatantly ignored us. A simple "hello" or "we'll be with you shortly" goes a long way in making customers feel welcome. Unfortunately, that basic level of customer service was missing from our experience. read more

Rollin Fresh is a different take on sushi. It's well priced and bigger than a hand roll. Whether you order a signature sushi burrito or a deep friend sushi burrito you get to choose to have it as is or in a bowl. Since it was our first time we chose to experience it as is. I would recommend it, no pressure. Lol. Order was the City of Roses, it tasted neutral, a little tangy, and had fishy flavor to it. It has a crunch to it tempura shrimp and jalapeño crisp. Also ordered was the deep fried Fresh prince. The taste reminds me of a Godzilla roll without the spiciness. The Teri-aioli it comes with is savory and a good combination with the fresh prince. It tastes like peanut sauce. We got a couple sides too, edamame which was just edamame lol. It needs a little more salt but was fine. My favorite thing, and I highly recommend ordering it was the salmon skin chips. It's exactly that salmon skin but fired until extra crispy. Super good, and crunchy. It goes really well with the blazin salsa. I'll say nothing was as spicy as it sounds. I would say out of a 10(that being super spicy) it was a 2. Parking was easy to find. It's part of a building where there's 2 other food spots, so there's options for parties. The customer service wasn't fancy or great but that's fine. We drove all the way from Salem to try the sushi burritos, and it was totally worth it! The food was delicious, the fire made the atmosphere so cozy, and the customer service was friendly. The Pioneer Poppers were amazing, and the Northern Lights recommendation did not disappoint. I was so glad they had avocado rolls -- my kids are picky eaters, and that really saved the night! I walked in, I know they saw me walk in, but I was kind of looking at the menu and the soda machine, but no one came out or said anything. I continued to wait and then saw a bell on the counter for service. So I thought okay, maybe you need to ring the bell so they know you are ready to order? So did, and continued to wait, I should've walked out. Then I finally heard someone say they'd be out in a moment. They came out and I made my order. The guy was nice when he came out, but it was really off putting that I had to wait as long as I did with not even a verbal indication that they would be out. Located in a very poppin neighborhood, this branch has a fun and casual vibe. Order for pickup was made in a timely manners. Food was fresh and tasty. Portion size was decent as well. It's a little different from your typical poke place in that there is not make your own option but their selections/combos are creative enough to entice you. I enjoyed the En Fuego Poke Bowl with Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, and Tempura Jalapenos. Interesting inclusion of guac but it sort of worked. Love the kick and heat that built up quite a bit. I am addicted to the deep fried Bridgetown sushi burrito. Had it 4 times now at 3 locations. This Glisan location most recently did the best job being super generous with the fillings. And could actually taste the spiciness of the tuna for the first time because they put a lot. The new Carreta location was disappointing as far as how much they packed in of the fillings, but still, they are always delicious. And the Teri-aioli is so good, and makes the dish. I really want to try other stuff but I'm low income and always afraid I'll get something that I don't like or lets me down. But one of these days I gotta venture further into the menu. Have had the Gold Rush once and was very tasty. It's seriously insane how much I have this place on my mind and think about splurging. I would definitely recommend getting an extra Teri-aioli. I've been a patron to this restaurant and have ordered once or twice a week on average for the last year. I'm totally disappointed that they keep adding raw jalapenos instead of jalapeno crisps which is listed on the menu. This is not only lazy but it's dishonest and it is not ok. I've tried calling the restaurant and it just rings with no answer. If the owner is reading this, I really like your food, but I keep paying for a product that I didn't receive. I'm sorry but "in the process of making changes" shouldn't mean that customers are not being notified of a change then being charged for something that they didn't get. I don't know about you, but I could eat Japanese food pretty much daily. I had the privilege of spending 5 weeks in Japan many years ago, so I can be a stickler for traditional cuisine, except when it comes to the sushi burrito. My first trip to Rollin Fresh last summer was a mind-blowing experience of fresh fish and layers of flavor! I'm hooked and have since visited both the Glisan and Killingsworth locations multiple times. The Glisan location is a bit more comfortable and attractive, so that one is my go to. I've had the City of Roses, Hey Macarena, and the En Fuego. All delicious and somehow easier to eat than the giant rolls of Saburos. The Blazin' Salsa is a bit spicier than I enjoy, but they happily swapped it out for Kick Back salsa. BTW their online ordering makes it so easy to order ahead, with a myriad of substitution options, so I can personalize to my heart's content. read more

The pioneer poppers are crazy amazing with spicy mayo. We probably pick some up at least once a week when out running errands. Outstanding choice, the Rolling Fresh cart. I had seen the Food Network piece and found it by shear luck on a recommendation. Yes the concept is cool and the service was totally friendly and efficient. But it's the food that will keep you coming back. I opted for the Cadillac, the tempura fried sushi burrito with shrimp and spicy tuna, the Bridgetown. It was a generous size and the fillings were awesome. It was the crispy fried nori, a new experience for me. Then there are the various flavorful sauces which made it a really fun eating experience. The whole thing was downright delicious. My boyfriend and I were very happy with the service provided. Ryan remembered to include napkins, spicy Mayo, wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce in our to-go bag! Everything is made fresh, so wait time might be about 10-15 minutes. Everything was really warm when we got it & tasted delicious. I ordered the "City of Roses" roll along with spam musubis.
