this place is cool. theyre reasonably priced, they have a really cool waiting room (although its kind of hot in there), the people are nice.. they get the job done.. I would recommend them.. So why 3 stars, you ask? I came in with a spare tire on and the busted tire in the car. (I had to help the guy with the stuff in my trunk as there was junk in there, and he had to lift the mat up to access the area for the spare and the tools that he needed to change the tire. wheel lock, etc. no big deal..) The problem is when he was done, he took the spare and tossed it in the trunk, on top of the stuff in the trunk, without even lifting up the mat and leaving the spare in its designated storage area. we had just accessed that part of the car together! What irked me the most, is that as I was leaving, he told me everything was "all set" as though he did nothing wrong. I think he was just too lazy to put the spare where it belonged, but I also think that is kind of a bare minimum thing to do when changing a tire. especially when its your job! read more

Needed new front tires asap so i decided to call rolling stock since they are located only about a 1 mile from my office and i had worked with them in the past when i had a flat. Had the pleasure of dealing with Andre who provided excellent customer service. He did everything he promised he would and was very punctual. Called me to let me know when my tires would arrive since the tires i wanted weren't in stock, confirmed my appointment and then gave me a call when the car was finished. To my pleasant surprise when i showed up the bill was cheaper then expected as when they put my car on the rack they realized i don't need an alignment. Honesty goes a long way as they easily could have charged me for the alignment that i requested assuming the car needed it. read more

Adam Hasset - this guy is a legend! It all started a long, long time ago (trying to fast forward through the history here). Back when Rolling Stock was on their South Van Ness location in a tiny little place in the boonies, even then the character of Adam was changing things around this business. I remember everything, I was hanging out in the shop as if it was my own office, just the character merge of everyone around this place was outstanding. Back then it was just a man fest, there was not a single lady around that office and things were getting done quick, there were many jokes to go around and of course their tire changing magic was superb! They had used tires, wheel hubs, bunch of other normal gear head would love, the business was great. They then moved a few block up to 16th Street at South Van Ness - shop got bigger, Adam's beautiful and smart wife helped him get the nightmare in some sort of manageable order, more people, better lifts, better balancing tools, these guys got their online reputation in order and it was the most technologically advanced tire shop in San Francisco, it was great, service was still outstanding and they now offered balancing and repair services, just wow! Then I'm sure you all heard about the big fire that happened, I came there that morning and it was devastating, Adam's face, police, fire engines.... Everything collapsed and I watched the sadness in Adam's eyes. It's like loosing the child, I could not ever imagine what Hasset family has gone through at the time when this happened. And here we are - new and even bigger location, now offering everything the 16th Street shop offered and they do commercial tires, seeing these fire trucks pull into the huge shop while everyone is as it doing tire replacements, balancing, rotation, repairs is mesmerizing. Adam and the family pulled it off, watching them grow as a business and get over obstacles that life throws at them is a sign of success. I only go to Rolling Stock when it comes to anything that has to do with my wheels, tires or alignment, these guys will make sure you're taken care of and make sure you talk to Adam, this guy is incredible - even if you're deaf, you can still understand him as 80% of what he says is expressed with his hand gestures. I was send there from another tire shop to repair my marsedes amg rims which they damaged from rotating tires, i talk to Adam to repair the rims he said they will be repaired to factory specification. When i picked up the car next day i check the rims the repair was not fixed right very sloppy work on $900 rims and the tires installed backwards, i had to come back another day to do the tires right. I think this people are ok for trucks but not responsible enough to handle high end cars. If you care about your rims and tires like i do this is not the place. read more

I finally called Rolling Stock and spoke to (I think his name was) Arsenio, and he was soooo nice and patient with me (I'm car-challenged). When I got there both him and Julio helped me out. Awesome! We found a nail in our tire and went to one of the big company tire places. Not only did they say it would be three hours, but also that they wouldn't be able to fix it and that we needed all new tires. Knowing they were full of it we jumped on Yelp to find a local shop. We were so lucky to find this place- everyone was nice and knowledgable- they were able to have the tire patched in 30 mins and when they realized that the nail had not gone all the way through they charged us half of the quoted price (so in the end it was $10.00). I took my car to Rolling Stock for a second opinion after Big O Tires said that my rear tire with a slow air leak was unrepairable. Rolling Stock is a no-frill garage. It's dirty and greasy, just as any reputable auto shop ought to be. The staff are direct and honest and will tell you if a job is doable or not. They fixed my punctured tire for $25; otherwise I would have paid over $800 to replace all 4 tires (AWD) at Big O Tire. The garage was jam packed, but I got out in a little over an hour. This place is awesome. Mario has been very helpful, resourceful and friendly to me. I do not know much about cars but he is willing to explain in details about what they do. First visit, I had my rims repaired here because for some reason my brother hit curb. Second visit, I wanted my wheels to be painted gloss black. Mario did a good job explaining the difference between plasti dip, paint and powder coat. He recommended powder coat because they are durable and also affordable. read more

Their garage was full, so I took off after checking in, not expecting to hear from them for awhile. I had a flat tire on New Years eve in the afternoon and the AAA guy got me air and recommended to try this place. He said they will patch your tire for $5. They got my car in to their side lot where they do all the work in about 15 minutes, fixed the flat in another 20 minutes, and then made me wait another 20 minutes because one of their other customers cars was blocking me in. They don't really have a garage, but more of a driveway with 1 hyd. jack and a few manual ones where they fix the tires. They have lots of hub caps and cheap rims to look at while you wait. Overall a pretty decent place. Oh yeh and it was $25 AAA guy not $5. read more
