Still love the food here for an easy everyday Italian meal, but was disappointed by the service and overall experience here on a recent Saturday night. I think they had a new waitstaff. She messed up my kids' order (and didn't acknowledge as much), didn't bring our appetizer at all (and didn't even notice until I told her it never came out), didn't stop in to see if we wanted another round of drinks (we did but I was not looking to spend any more time there tonight), and didn't even say thank you on our way out after we left. Amazing pizza. The square Grandma pizza is one of the best I've ever had. Sort of a cross between Sicilian pizza and foccacia, it has a wonderful airy crust and sweetness of sauce that's so perfect. Romanacci offers lots of Italian dishes other than pizza, but I've only ever gone here for the pizza, both done in and take away. We politely mentioned to our waitress upon being seated that the restaurant had an odd odor - it hit the four of us as we walked in the front door and was really unpleasant - it smelled like vomit mixed with disinfectant/insecticide...she told us that she had spoken to the manager about it after we mentioned it and that they didn't know the cause and wanted to know what we wanted them to do about it (!!!). Perhaps light a fragranced candle or spray a room spray ???? I'll get take out in future!! It put us off our food!! read more

Loved this place. We actually were going to a different restaurant on the same street but it was closed so we decided to have lunch here. I am so glad we did. We went on a Saturday so they were serving brunch, I didn't necessarily want brunch so I ordered from the small plates portion of the menu while my girlfriend ordered from the brunch side. My girlfriend ordered the waffles and sausage and I had the chicken Scapariello with a side of broccoli rabe. Both meals were delicious, a perfect portion size. The waffle was served with was served with a small scoop of ice cream. My chicken dish was so tasty, it contained chicken, sausage, peppers with a little kick added as well. The Lollipop Lamb Chops are amazing. We always get the gnocchi Bolognese also. I did notice that the food was significantly under-seasoned and under spiced this time, as if there was a different chef. Please add garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to everything, including dough, vegetables, pasta, sauces and cheese. Otherwise all you have is Chef Boyardee. read more

You've heard the saying "Good things come in little packages."? Well, this aptly describes Romanacci II It's tiny but packs the quality and flavor into its little niche. Beautiful fresh cannoli shells (empty) displayed along side 1/2 dozen different oblong pizzas like pepperoni, veggie, meat lovers, & margarita. "Slices"served as rectangles on wooden boards. The mozzarella w hot oil was delicious. Fast, easy & very tasty. 2 person bistro tables offer the perfect stop for a fast lunch or for Commuters as it is adjacent to the Saugutuck train station. I've always ordered the large grandma pizza from the norwalk location and LOVED IT. I was genuinely shocked when I opened the box to see how small it was (compared to what it normally has been in the past). I'm not sure if it's just with this location or not but I'll probably order from the Norwalk location in the future. I ordered through the Slice app and the pizza clearly had not been kept warm in any way. The sauce was actually cold and the crust was hard, cold, and flavorless. Garlic knot in the salad was also cold. The only thing evenly remotely pleasant to eat was the salad. A pizza restaurant should make sure whoever is delivering them is equipped to do so to ensure they're at least warm upon arrival. I would not recommend delivery from this restaurant. read more

The pizza box is so huge it might not fit into a tiny car. Romannacci had the best quality years ago when they were new. It is so hit or miss now. Overall I would say it is worth a try though I'm not going back for a long time. Times are tough. I'll wait another year and hopefully they bring that old quality back from years ago. read more

So happy that I discovered you you wonderful pizza place you. Y'all ready for this?!?. Missed my train and hadn't eaten anything so I looked up on yelp if there were any spots open for lunch yet. Little did I know there's a great pizza place right behind me!!! So I picked up my bags and ran outside in excitement to find the smell of pizza in the air. It was heavenly. I walked in and the woman at the counter was very friendly. She told me that they renovated the seating area 4 months ago! The atmosphere is really cool inside! They have breakfast and the train schedules which is cool. Anywho, onto the pizza. I live in Brooklyn so I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to my pizza but this slice was fantastic. The ratio of spice to cheese to sauce was sublime. The crust was crispy and not too burnt. I wish I knew of this place when I was commuting from Westport as this would have been a great spot to stop at to get a slice to go. Not too expensive either. One slice is a good lunch size and they cut it in half too! Excited to come back and maybe grab a drink here too! Long story short, come here, eat pizza, leave happy! read more

They're new restaurant opened a week ago and I've been there three times!!! We've frequented this wonderful family's restaurants for many years. Date nights, pizza before movie nights and pandemic take- out. Always good. But the brothers new concept of fabulous Italian tapas is brilliant. Their salads and pizza were always good, but the tapas and this new chef ( as well as this attractive and hip new spot) are something else ! Mauricio and his manager got a table together tonight ( at 4:30) for twelve (!!!) outside, for my husband's birthday. Joining us were two sons, four grandchildren and 3 daughters in law. It was an outrageously delicious meal. Cacio e pepe, a Caesar of perfection, truffle fried potatoes , oozing chicken parm bites, chicken bites in Marsala and mushrooms and pizza and pasta for the small ones. And more! Then when I had to use the restroom there were people blocking the access to the restroom because they were enjoing the band, I repeatedly said "excuse me" and asked them to move, but because of the volume of the music they couldn't hear anything and took quite a while to move. This repeated as I returned, on my way out of the restroom back to my table. The women saw me, but the man blocking my path, didn't see me, or hear me say anything. I said "excuse me" several times, but the music overpowered me. Per haps there might be a better location to position bands, and lower their sound levels to allow everyone to enjoy their dinner, their conversations, and maybe customers would be able to comfortably make an easy trip to the restroom. Again, the food was all fantastic, and the service people were all super. I just felt the sound levels from the band was just a little too high for the design of that restaurant where it would would reverberate to the walls making it harder for everyone to enjoy their conversations and meals .
