My family favorite haunt in New Haven is Pizza House and Modern Pizza. Since I've found this gem, we haven't ventured into New Haven. My spouse loves Emmy's Big Hawaiian with the pineapple chili glaze on the side. We went to Emmy Squared last night before a show at the Westport Playhouse. Our friends had never been but we had a great time! Luna was our waitress and she was great and had a lot of personality! The pizza was really good -we had a spicy pizza and a white truffle pizza. Drinks were fine - I would love to see more white wine choices however. Two of us prefer Savignon Blanc from CA. There was only a New Zealand wine in that category. The Chardonnay we had was good, but not one we knew. The manager, Devi , checked on us and got some blue cheese olives for one of our guests. Stopped here for a pre show dinner while in town for a concert at the levitt pavilion. We had the great pleasure of being waited on by Luna, who was absolutely exceptional. She was the sweetest most genuine soul, so attentive and genuinely invested in our experience and how much we enjoyed the food and drinks. Shout out to Luna and the rest of the staff we interacted with on our visit, you guys are amazing! As far as the food goes, I cannot recommend this place enough. We had the mvp pizza, which was insane, vodka sauce and pesto, ricotta (I think), to dieeeee! We also had the wing bites, which came with some sort of basil based dipping sauce, sooo yummy! The Caesar was on par for a typical Caesar salad, but so fresh and refreshing on a hot summer day. We will definitely be back next time we're in town! I've been coming here for almost 2.5 years now. The pizza is amazing, best Detroit style pizza I've ever had in New England honestly. My issue is that they keep increasing the price of everything yet the quality of the pizza and the establishment is only going down? The online ordering is finicky as ever and clearly hasn't been updated in a long time (aside from the pricing, of course) because it's been almost 3 months now where you can't put pepperoni on a "Build your own." If it's not an option anymore then it should just be removed from the options, not greyed out for months. The tenner roni supreme used to come out to like $30-$32 total, now it's $45??? That's just a bit ludicrous for pizza honestly. Maybe in Greenwich village that price point flies but honestly, it feels pretty messed up to hike up all your prices literally 50% when the quality of the food and the ability to order said food has only gone down. Sucks that the establishment itself is making such choice decisions but nothing good lasts forever. Oh well! read more

Nice location and food was good but I understand why they were empty at lunch time when other nearby restaurants were hopping... prices too high, portions too small. The Caesar salad says it is a sharing plate that serves 2-3... The plate was less than half full which was disappointing. My daughter's $22 Emily burger apparently didn't come with fries so we were charged another $7 for the side of fries - $29 for burger lunch isn't acceptable. Solid pizza. Great burgers. But way understaffed and incredibly incompetent service. I think you just need to pay people better to attract better talent or simply hire more people. Saturday night, you're not even that busy. Yet staff doesn't know the menu and the kitchen is so slow. You have to do better than that. It's brutal. Let's start with the good... the pizza here is AMAZINGGGG! We ordered the Good Paulie and pepperoni. Highly highly recommend the Good Paulie. Waffle fries are always a must too. My husband loved his chopped cheese burger. Mistakes happen, but how they're handled makes all the difference -- and this was not handled well. People make the difference in a dining experience, and this week the team failed to make the experience feel even remotely delightful. Fairfield County in desperate need of great Detroit-style pizza spots and Emmy's is a great addition to the area. The restaurant itself is nice and kind of trendy. The food is phenomenal. We got the Big Ang pizza, with vodka sauce, meatball, ricotta and banana peppers. The crust was nicely caramelized and crispy to bite into and the flavors were impeccable. The service could've been a bit improved. It took a long time for the pizza to come out and almost 20 minutes for drinks to come to the table, despite it not being all that crowded. Having spotted Emmy Squared during trips to New York but never getting the chance to try it, I was excited when they opened a location closer to home. I ordered two "regular" sized pizzas to go, their smallest options: the Colony and a Margherita. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the size of the small boxes, especially given the menu price of each. The Colony, as described, was delicious, but I found it a bit too sweet, and the pickled jalapeños added very little heat. Surprisingly, I ended up preferring the Margherita, which came with burrata and it worked perfectly. Even though the regular size is kinda small, the thick, doughy nature of Detroit-style pizzas makes them surprisingly filling. After three slices, I began to question how many more I could handle, turning the small size issue into a minimal concern. One regular pizza is plenty for a single person and probably enough for two if you're not starving. I had the opportunity to try this restaurant with a promotional discount from a food delivery app, making what I paid feel worth it. However, paying full price for these pizzas might not excite me as much. This concern probably isn't as pressing for locals given the location lol. Emmy Squared might not be the first choice for pizza, especially considering the price point, but if you're in the mood for unique and tasty Detroit-style pizza, it's a worth a shot and your time! read more

We had been curious to try Detroit style pizza for a while, and also had Emmy Squared on our NYC bucket list for a long time, so we finally made it to the Westport location to check it out! We weren't sure how we were going to feel about Detroit style, but it honestly exceeded our expectations! The VIP pizza was DELICIOUS and I'm already craving it again! The watermelon salad was fresh, the burger was tasty, and the mozzarella sticks couldn't have been better. We were in and out in an hour because of the attentive staff! Our server and the manager were so friendly and welcoming. If I had one critique, we did think that the brownie in the brownie skillet was a bit overdone, but I have to say all around that this was one of the best spots we've checked out this summer. I'm a bid bias about Emmys, I tried in Louisville years ago and have been hooked since. I just love this pizza, we usually get the Vodka one with the pesto sauce on top. Pizza is crusty around the edges and soft inside, perfect balance I would say. I have never not enjoyed emmys pizza, in fact every city we go, I check to see if there is an Emmys out there. Imagine my surprise when I saw they opened one here in CT. We recently stopped by and the place was really nice inside, and the bar tender was super friendly. Recently checked out Emmy squared with my fiance. We made reservations but they were running a bit behind. The host offered to buy us a free drink which was nice but we passed and told him we would be fine waiting. Didn't have to wait long and a high top was available. We started with garlic bread and mozz sticks. Both were good but nothing to write home about. Next came the pizzas. My fiance had the classic and I had the colony. Both were good! Detroit style!
