I have had repeated issues from the owner Suzy constantly DOUBLE BOOKING my nail appt time and causing longer than usual wait times. As someone in a high pressure job with little windows for self care, it has constantly put a strain on my ability to enjoy these appointments and let alone even get the service i'd planned for. I've put up with this behavior for as long as I can but ever since my favorite techs have left, I will not be stepping my foot back in at the shop. This is THE place. My friend was a customer for a long time and kept trying to convince me to leave my old nail place and try Romance. I finally did and I could kick myself for taking so long to do it. Jennifer is amazing and does my acrylics, even have had gels done and it's all great. Pay via cash, card, Apple Pay, Venmo or Zelle. If there isn't a wait, you should be in and out in about 30-45 minutes. This is a no-nonsense, no-frills salon, just how I like them. Up-charges are available if you personally prefer a more elaborate and lavish experience. People don't really chat here. There's always good music playing. Again, works for me! Parking is a bit compact, but usually easy to find. This plaza also contains a few eateries, a smoke shop, and some other retail places.

During the removal process, the electric drill used to remove the gel felt like it was scraping my actual nail, not just the gel. It was very uncomfortable and painful while it was happening. In addition, the UV curing light was left on each nail for too long, which caused a strong burning sensation. Another tool was used underneath my nails (possibly to clean underneath them), but it involved filing under the nail, which was painful both during the process and afterward. By the end of the appointment, my nails and fingertips were throbbing and stinging, and I was sweating throughout the service from how uncomfortable it was. There also seemed to be a bit of a language barrier or miscommunication when discussing the nail shape. I was initially asked what shape I wanted and we said almond, but it was later switched to oval. I was completely fine with that (it's actually what I wanted), but the change wasn't clearly communicated verbally until I asked again to clarify the shape. The technician herself was very nice and sweet, and I appreciate her kindness during the appointment. However, the level of pain during the process felt torturous, and because of that I would not return for this service again.
