This place is the best clean and friendly. They recently bought new massage chairs they are wonderful.

Salon was able to get 2 of us in for a pedicure and manicure within 10 minutes on a Sunday. Not impressed by the polish color selection or the cleanliness/state of the salon. It seemed dated and worn down. All the employees were nice but we were not impressed by the quality of manicure/pedicure. I am sure there are other comparably priced nail salons nearby that may not be so run down and would do a comparable job. Cash is required to tip on a credit card payment. read more

My all time favorite nail salon. No matter which tech you go to your nails will always look good. It's not pricey and they offer extended massages (feet/legs, arms/hands, shoulders etc.) It's always so relaxing when I go here. There's also an ATM so you can pull out cash if needed. read more

Not only did this salon fail to romance me, I left with completely destroyed nail beds on my hands and toes. This place is a one and done for me. Never again! The highlights are: *They DO NOT use sterilized equipment. Everything my tech used on me came out of a sterilization bag that was already opened from before. *The nail file the tech used on me looked like it had been used on 100 other women, then chewed on by a dog. *Somehow she filed my toes so hard that it cut my skin! I kept pulling my feet away from her to show her its hurting, and then she proceeded to pour alcohol all over my toes. Obviously this burned like a mofo! Not happy. *Then the lady who did the manicure filed my nails down so far and kept peeling back layers of nail bed saying, "Your nail bed peeling!" Like I want her to peel it back like an onion? Anyone with a brain would just cut it off or file it gently! But no, she kept pulling back. I was livid. I have never seen anyone ruin my nails like this woman. The WHOLE POINT OF GELS is for people with weak nails- don't make them worse! I also have to say their color selection for gels and regular nail polish are weak. There a real mish mosh of colors, too many of the same, and a lot of super weird colors. When trying to match my gel color to my toes, there was nothing even close! So I had to leave with mismatched hands/feet. So lame. Go to Bellacures or Dashing Diva if you want an exceptional experience with clean tools and brand new files. I saw Emily today for a pedicure. Great experience! First of all they were open on a Sunday, which is basically the only time I can get my nails done. Emily did a great job, i went for the extra $10 massage because she was so dang good! You know how sometimes the nail tech just kind of phones in the massage part? Not Emily. I didn't realize my calves were so tight and ---oh yeah----a pedicure should be a luxurious, relaxing experience....not just a perfunctory errand. The salon was quiet and they had good colors. When I want a relaxing morning or afternoon, I call Jennifer at Romance. The most important thing about a nail spa for me is cleanliness and Romance is pristine. The salon is huge and roomy. There are zillions of magazines. The women who do your nails are experienced and talented. They usually work two-on-one which takes less time. Also, they will give leg or arm massages but are not high-pressure for a upsale. They offer waxing too. The salon is almost across the street from Marshall's on Ventura. Warning: be careful about parking and crossing the street. I have gotten two tickets, one for the meter and one for jay walking. Do NOT park in lots since everyone has security and they are very piggy about calling for a tow truck. The only safe lot might be underneath Marshall's. read more

The parking the Parking THE PARKING IS TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE! I've gotten two tickets here and EVERY time I come I have to go back and forth (on Ventura blvd) waiting for something to open up (anytime of the day) the nail service are good, pedicure decent, I wouldn't trust the wax, spacious salon nothing to brag about. I come because it's local, I'm used to the techs and I usually can be seated without an appointment with 5 mins (maybe 10-15 on weekend evenings) but again THE PARKING!! It's shameful! read more

Called about an hour ahead and they fit me and a friend in for manicures. Pricing is totally reasonable. Nice calm atmosphere. Make sure to bring cash for tipping, as they don't put tips on cards. Also, parking is a total nightmare as they have no lot and only a few metered spots out front. read more

I have some to Romance about 3 times before writing this review; once for a manicure, once for a pedicure with my husband and once for mani/pedi combo. All three have been good experiences, not outstanding, but good. PROS: 1. SUPER friendly (and damn near adorable) staff. 2. Great selection of polish. Essie and OPI, including older colors and the newest collections. 3. Magazines, although beat up a bit, were plentiful and recent; important for those who use a trip to the salon to catch up on our trashy celebrity gossip. I.E. ME! 4. Very comfortable pedi chairs (minus the tacky and useless pillows on each chair) 5. Reasonable prices. 6. Most important PRO: the mani/pedis turn out lovely, and they last. 7. They participate in a current nail salon trend that I highly encourage (as does the CA Health Dept.) If you are a regular client ,you can "purchase" your tools (file, buffer, nail and cuticle clippers, etc) to be put aside in a sanitary autoclave bag to only be used by you when you come to the salon. 8. The take your time, you don't feel rushed to get out of there and it doesn't feel like they want to kick you out either. CONS: 1. It's almost always icebox cold in there, and when they turn the mini fans on to dry my nails, I'm just about frozen. 2. The music is usually kinda of random and becomes a nuisance 3. They prefer if you pay in cash...which seems a bit sketchy. 4. Parking can be a difficult, depending on when you go. 6. That decor, man oh man, it has GOT to go. based on the reviews here, i made an appointment with Jennifer. the salon was super busy on the day i went, probably because of the impending new years. after waiting half an hour, Jennifer took me, and did my gel fill with french tip. she did a great job, did what i asked which is to avoid having the gel look too thick. overall she did a great job. my pedicure was great, and has lasted so far. however, when i went home that night, i was disappointed that my nails smudged, like a normal manicure! this is not supposed to happen with gel, since my gel french tips usually last me 3 weeks and never smudges. i called back, and Jennifer agreed to fix them for me the next morning. i went in, and she tried to dry them longer and used another protective UV top coat before the final gel coat. it worked better, but one still smudged. overall, the service was great, but the end product was disappointing. i will need to find another nail salon to go to. read more

I'm a BIG fan of this place. I've been to loads of different nail salons for acrylics. I'm really picky; I want the nail to look natural and not lift. If they lift, I pick at them. Jennifer does an amazing job with acrylics. I like using colored acrylic powder, opposed to polish, because I'm very active and polish wouldn't last a week. Because I like to swap colors out frequently, I purchase my own powders (like one would buy polish) and bring it in for Jennifer to use. It caught her off-guard a little the first time, but she had no problem with it. I'm really happy and will be returning for a third time tomorrow. read more

Patience, well skilled, polite Vietnamese staff who are attentive and quiet, doesn't hard sell or gossip with you when you need to relax. Well maintained, posh and cosy seats with in built foot spa pool, spa like settings, spacious environment, no wonder it's able to stand out when there are so many nail salons in the area. Oh the price is reasonable too, $60 to $70+ (can't remember exactly) for gel mani and French gel padi. Lasting 3 weeks or more, and still going strong, didn't peel off easily. Beautiful salon, very clean and open. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Polish has lasted a week (not gel). I had my nails done here before my wedding with all my brides maids. They made us feel very comfortable. They do nice work and the place is cheerful. I decided to have a French mani pedi. I've been getting acrylic fills and pedicures from this Salon for a while. More than 10 and probably less than 20 visits. I have noticed the quality of their work deteriorate. It seems as if you are not buying a lot of add-ons, they lose interest in you as a client. The work has gotten very sloppy and slapdash. My last fill continued this trend. My nails are all lopsided and uneven in length. They are not smoothly finished. Several nails were trimmed and the top edges cracked. They fixed one, but not the others. I knew I would have some serious finishing work to do at home, so I refused polish. When I went to pay at the front desk, the gentleman behind the desk asked me about the lack of polish and I told him that the work was poor, lumpy and lopsided. He said "have a nice evening". Also, Their sanitation standards have deteriorated significantly. Dirty tools and previously used nail files. Taking something out of a box marked "clean" does not make it so. I saw used tools put back into the "clean" box. They also do a once over lightly cleaning of the pedi stations between clients. They change the water, but that's it. Run, do not walk, away from this place. I'm never going back. read more

Walked in after lunch at Sugarfish on the same block. It is very clean and spacious, which I really liked. I went with a friend, and we both liked our manicures a lot. They were very good at cleaning our cuticles and nails, and were attentive to detail. Will be back whenever I'm in the area and in need of a manicure! read more

My nails always look gorgeous when I leave this joint. If my clumsy self smudges a nail (like I'm regularly known to do because I'm always in a hurry & careless) they have let me pop in and fixed it for me. The girls that work here are sweethearts. The shop is super clean. I love how my pedicures look as fabulous 3 weeks later coming home from an adventurous beach vacation as they did when i left...what is it that they use as a top coat? I also like that when I go w/ my girlfriends and try & get my friends to put on grass green loud nail polish- the girls who work there agree with me! :) I will continue to come back...again and again. btw...i've never had them pressure me into paying cash vs. credit card. and where do they get the little candies by the cash register- they are delicious! read more

Ive been going here for years. Its as clean and sanitary as it gets plus it is really big and airy so you don't have to smell whatever it is that stinks when you do fake nails. Jennifer who runs it is wonderful, she always remembers your name and makes you feel at home. Great new massage chairs. Ann is the pedicure queen because I have a difficult ingrown toe nail that only she can fix. Also I get my eyebrows done here and never let anyone else touch them because they are perfect. The chairs are all on the new side so the massage features actually work, which is a pleasant surprise. LOVE this nail salon!! After trying a few, this is my go-to in Studio City. All of the girls are super nice and their pricing is VERY competitive. Truly horrible experience. Called beforehand and they said they don't take appointments but that we could walk in and they would take us. We got there, no one was at front desk and no one greeted us. We had to ask for assistance and they told us to pick our colors. We sat and waited for ONE HOUR while no one acknowledged us. Finally we got up to leave and they ran after us begging us to stay, saying only a few more minutes. We said we needed to be seen in the next 5 minutes and they said ok. We waited.... and nothing. Really really bad customer service and terrible lack of organization within the staff. People were sitting in the nail chairs just waiting, and no one was even working on them.
