You get a complimentary warm loaf of bread for your table. For $2, you can add a side of House Salad or Caesar Salad. Both are good. House Salad goes by Side Greens on the online menu. For $5 add-on to your entree, you can make it unlimited soup and salad, brought out 1 request at a time. If you only want AYCE soup & salad, it's $9, again 1 dish at a time. 4 choices: House Salad, Caesar Salad, Tomato Basil Soup, or Lobster Bisque. I can't recommend the Spinach & Artichoke Dip. Consistency is not creamy and thick as one would hope. Oily and loose. I also noticed the online menu offers a $4.50 Side Caprese Salad and $4.50 Side Italian Chopped Salad. Haven't been to Macaroni Grill for a while and wanted to check out Happy Hour. Sat at the bar and got there a little early so no one else was there. The bartender greeted us and gave us the menus. There are a couple of televisions to watch sports. I started with an Aperol Spritz and we ordered the Spicy Meatballs and the Stuffed Mushrooms. Both were tasty but wanted one more thing. We ordered the Mushroom Risotto. It was absolutely perfect. I finished with a Smoked Rosemary Old Fashioned. First time here and was impressed! There's quite a bit in the menu to choose from but I decided to build my own pasta. The food came quick and was delicious. The homemade bread was one of my favorites here. Our server was also very friendly and the actual ambiance of the restaurant is nice and casual. Price point wise was fair. We've been meaning to try this place for months already and got to dine here tonight. We were seated after a few minutes upon arriving. The place was nice and looked fancy a little. It had a cozy vibe with nice lights hanging around. Since we were a large party, we were seated on a round table towards the end of the restaurant. Our server (a guy, I forgot to take note of his name) was nice. We were first served breads and drinks. My husband and I tried the Italian soda in blood orange and blackberry. We liked it. It was not refillable though. The bread was served whole and you'll cut it yourself. For starters, we had the calamari fritti, signature mac and cheese bites and crispy fresh mozzarella. The calamari was hard and bite sizes. We didn't like it that much. We liked both the signature mac and cheese bites and crispy fresh mozzarella more. For entree, I had the Bistecca Florentine while my husband did the create your own pasta. He opted for the spaghetti arrabbiata with fresh spinach, broccolini and roasted tomatoes and italian sausage and meatballs for protein. I liked how my steak turned out and enjoyed my meal. It came with mashed potatoes and brocollini. Another thing I liked about this place was they have a changing table for babies. We'll definitely be back to try their other dishes. read more

Waitress here is pulling some shady behavior for higher tips. Went there yesterday for Mothers Day. My partner recommended it because she remembered drawing on the paper table cloth and thought that would be fun for our son. My mother and partner both ordered the unlimited soup and salads. The waitress even explained the two versions of the pricing. The waitress took our order and asked us if we wanted everything to come out at the same time together. We said yes, but she decided that wasn't gonna be the case despite the offer. When the check arrived she decided to charge the salads as entree's and then add on the unlimited soup and salads to that. Going over double the price of what they actually ordered. I pointed it out. She said it's because she brought them bigger portions. But that isn't what they asked for nor what they wanted. Although one finished it. I said "ok that's not what they asked for but since they ate it I'll pay for it". She said she could take it off and charge the right price. Only to come back later and say she could only take off the additional charge of the unlimited soup and salads. I wasn't trying to argue about pricing on Mothers Day. But there was a discussion amongst both of them and they specifically asked for the smaller portioned option. I paid and we left. Once I left I realized our waitress probably did this just to pull an extra tip. The food wasn't great. The table was crooked. The whole experience was just really below par. But I didn't say anything because it wasn't my choice and I wasn't trying to ruin the dinner. But I hope that if the manager of this place reads the review, they understand why for a few bucks and dishonesty this will never be a place my family and friends will ever go to. Many things can improve. Service was not good. I went in with a couple of my girlfriends, and we sat at the table for about 35 minutes without service - nobody came to our table or said anything, we sat and waited for a server to come to our table, but weren't offered any water, help, or any bread. Others came in after us and were served, but not us. I don't want to make any assumptions but maybe it had to do with our age or race. I really enjoy coming here for small family get-togethers and celebrations. We went for Mother's Day (with reservations) and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. We love drawing and coloring on the "tablecloth". The ceaser salad is always good and the truffle Mac is amazing. Spaghetti and meatballs are exactly what you expect and I love the fresh parm grated on top. First, the food was terrible. I ordered the Grilled Salmon. Waiter said they only had the Simple Salmon so I said ok. Then he said oh, we don't have it. So NO salmon at ALl. She was super attentive, checked on us often, kept our drinks filled and she was delightful to talk to. Her name was Olivia. The inside has a romantic feel and was perfect for our date night! We ordered the dinner special. Ribeye with compound garlic herb butter and buttermilk mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and the rosemary, garlic and herb butter really elevated it to the best steak we had in a long time! The Folsom restaurant closed several years ago so we came here since we were craving Italian. The restaurant has the classic Tuscan look but maybe could use a more modern update. The server was very courteous and attentive. The Italian bread and calamari appetizers were kinda bland. The entrees made up for it. I got the Mama's trio and really liked the chicken parmesan portion. The lasagna bolognese was solid but not special. I think they should update the menu which hasn't changed in all the years we've been to Macaroni grill. Overall a good experience but not sure we'll be back. read more

Came here at 11:30am on Saturday with a party of 9, the restaurant was about 1/4 full. By 12:30 no server even approached our party. The last few times I have been there they were extremely understaffed, and very slow, even when it wasn't that busy. Visiting from out of town and went to meet friends. We had a reservation and they seated us promptly. Our waiter, brought oil for the bread and never brought bread. The rest of our friends arrived and he took their drink order. He thought it was cute to say "no" when we asked for a drink. It wasnt. It was annoying. He proceeded to not know the difference between lemonade and iced tea and made multiple mistakes. I seriously was wondering if he was tired or had had a sample at the bar. Finally, our drinks were brought and were correct, but still no bread to go with the oil and vinegar that's been sitting on our table. He then took our order. We had a few requests and he double checked twice with us to ensure it was correct what he had written down. One of our friends asked for Alfredo sauce, since Marinara upset her stomach. He argued with her and told her it wouldn't go well with what she ordered. He Finally agreed. As he was taking our order, I watched as he would touch my daughter's shoulder and that of her friends. My daughter and her friends are all adults, but it was odd. I even watched him wink at them. As a protective dad, this pissed me off. After he left. The girls all commented how creepy he was and how they felt. The manager happened to stop by and I asked to speak to him away from the table. I explained the whole meal so far anf that tge waiter smelled like he had smoked vigarettes or had BO. The manager changed servers and apologized. The new server was great and she inherited a mess, but did great. When our order came, it was a mess. The pizza a friend ordered was not thoroughly cooked, the chicken pasta was missing chicken, they brought me 3. Yes 3 of the same entree as if I was that hungry. The manager stepped in and had to take things back and delayed us all having our food. I will say, my meal as others tasted good, but the whole experience left me not liking it at all. The new sever brought our bill and they had charged me for 2 of the same entrees. The manager came back and told us he hadn't explained anything to the new server so she had no idea what a dumpster fire she was stepping into. He took off the extra entree. I was shocked they didn't comp the whole meal, but whatever. He said I'll take off the $25 in drinks and a pizza. As someone with a background in supervision and HR knowledge i am shocked the waiter was allowed to even stay and that the manager didnt comp our meal or take a significant discount. I was still recovering from mouth surgery so pasta was probably better than a burger anyway. The inside is exactly what you would expect from a large Italian American chain restaurant. It was precisely what I needed. The ambiance is warm, comfortable, spacious, and dimly lit. There is a bar with a few seats and TVs. We were given a booth which is the best when eating with a 5 year old. The service was incredible. He was courteous, funny, and experienced. I got my drink refilled 2 times and never had to ask. We were a little salty over the other restaurant being reserved and he totally flipped our mood. The bread. The bread. The bread. It was delicious. The bite was perfect and flavor had a light salt taste that really activated some zones. I ordered spaghetti bolognese with roasted peppers and tomatoes, broccolini, and roasted chicken. I hadn't eaten a real meal in a week and it again was precisely what I needed. I went outside my norm and ordered the chocolate cake for dessert. Just imagine what noises and faces you would make while eating an amazing chocolate cake. It was the same for me. I placed a to go order (as we were headed out of town) for their pasta Milano and it was not very flavorful for something with ingredients that should have added flavor, especially garlic. The order was placed through grub hub which I didn't have any experience with and if I hadn't gone in to pick it up, I would have been extremely disappointed. On the order form you can request plasticware and extra cheese and I did so. When my order was given to me, there was neither. They gave me a loaf of bread and no butter. Just not very good service. We had our daughter's engagement luncheon on a Sunday. We had about 40 guests. The catering manager was awesome to work with and all the employees were great! We were able to pick out a menu for our guests at our price point and I was able to serve red wine for each table. I'll add a photo of the menu that they printed out for each guest. So classy. Food was served hot and delicious. We started off with breads & salads. Then our entrees came. We all got served fairly quickly. Then desserts came. I'm just going to say it. The paper on top of the tables has got to GO! What a crazy waste of paper. Years ago, I would come here and the server would write their name in crayons and then leave crayons to the patrons to draw. Those days seem to be over & so should the paper. Besides it being a huge waste of trees, it cheapens the look of the restaurant. With that out of the way, I like the food. It's good. My husband & I shared the Mama's Trio (Lasagna, Alfredo and Chicken Parmesan). Our sweet waitress split it onto two plates without us even asking her to do so. It was a nice gesture that was welcomed. The meal is also accompanied by a loaf of bread. It's messy, but good. It's fine for my husband & I to clumsily cut the bread without a bread knife. Well we went out for lunch arriving at the restaurant at about 12:30. Very few people in the restaurant we were seated right away. We were not given the lunch menu just the over priced dinner menu. Food was slow coming out of the kitchen considering the few guests that were in the restaurant. i had the lobster soup and it was very good although not really warm enough. My meal was the shrimp ravioli and the portion was very small, like five ravioli and five shrimp for $25. My meal was barely warm. We asked for more bread and the waitress said they were making more, makes me wonder how much bread did the other ten people eat. So a few minutes later the bread came out and it was cold, fresh baked my ass. My daughter had the Lasagna and it was cold she ate a little and then asked to have it defeated. So her meal is gone for a good ten minutes and the waitress brings the check and I asked where is her meal that was to be warmed up, oh yeah she says and goes and gets it and it has perhaps been warmed but it is still cool as the waitress forgot it and it promptly cooled off again. I asked for some crushed garlic for the olive oil and balsamic which really makes the bread delicious and the waitress said they don't have any crushed garlic, an Italian themed restaurant without crushed garlic, give me a break. Anyhow three complaints, NO LUNCH MENU I SPENT WAY TO MUCH MONEY for two people to have lunch and one to meal, $68 for the portion sizes way over priced, slow service and COLD FOOD. The Romanos Macaroni grill has lost its splendor. Sadly. As I arrived for an early lunch today I was hoping to see this restaurant prepped and shined for the holidays. Last time we came (maybe a year ago) it was not spiffy. I just thought it's been a few hard years, give them time to adjust. Today when I arrived no one came to the hostess station for a while. The lady who did show us to a booth had been chatting over near the kitchen the whole time we stood there. Our booth she sat us at had paper over tablecloth. The table behind us had tablecloths no paper and we're filthy. So I decided to lift the paper on my table. Same thing! A dirty mess. The menus were filthy and old.
