Firstly, everyone was surprised by how great the food tasted. The inside gives "bar food" vibes but, they deliveredddd with the quality. I loved the low lighting vibe, there is also a ton of indoor seating! Service was great, our server was really nice.

The pizza and vibes were amazing :) the bar is always full with fun and outgoing people. This is our neighborhood pizza joint and we come here every Sunday for football! They have a special menu for football season and it always hits!! The calzone was the best we had and the service is always so warm and welcoming! Thank you Romanos for filling our bellies and having such good service

Located on Alessandro Blvd & Mission Grove Pkwy N directly across the Galaxy Theater with plenty of parking. We stopped by on Saturday night and were seated immediately. We recently visited Chicago, so we were craving deep dish. My friend recommended this place so we wanted to give it a try. As an appetizer, we had their 'Meatball Marinara' from their Quick Bites section, which tasted amazing. As entree, we had 'The Chicago Pie', a deep dish style pizza pie with spinach, artichokes, and ricotta cheese. The pie was flavorless imo, but that could be because we chose a meatless option. We still enjoyed it, but I can not say it's as good as being in Chicago. The restaurant is clean and organized with an adjacent full bar. While inside, it did remind me of being in a Chicago restaurant. There's plenty of TVs throughout showing a live baseball game during our visit. Service was great. Shout out to our server, 'Emily', who was extremely attentive regardless of how busy it was. Overall, we had a good dinner experience here and will definitely return to try other menu items.

We are back again but not for the food but for the small concert in the back of the restaurant. This time around we came to see the Led Zeppelin tribute band called Zeppelin Revisited. The entry cost was 20 dollars and it was well worth the time to drive out here. Good vibes and the bar is right there where you can order a drink while enjoying some live music.

Twice we have gone out of our way to eat at this Romanos. A return visit for our family means the first experience was pretty darn good. So, could they do it again? Here are the dishes that raised our eyebrows, in a good way: Fettuccine Capriccioso pasta, a very interesting, flavorful, thick noodle pasta that included a complex, creamy pink sauce and chunks of good tasting meats. It was a very large serving that held its own even as leftovers. It got passed around the table of 6, and got enthusiastic thumbs ups by the 4 adults. Their crispy Calamari was so good, we ended up getting two orders. Everyone, but especially the two children at our table, were serious about this appetizer. And even though one order was a huge portion compared to other places, the two orders vanished. Delicious!!!! The cup of Marinara that came with it was eye rollingly magnificent. This is a reminder to myself to get dishes featuring their marinara. The Antipasto salad was quite a vision. Not only was it huge and topped with lots of deli meats, the presentation was unique. I loved how they placed filled rolls of meat and tomato attractively around the edge of the salad bowl making them resemble Japanese hand rolls. My only complaint was the creamy Italian dressing. This was its Achilles heel, not very good. I would have much preferred a different dressing, say an herbal Italian oil and vinegar. I recall them saying they did not have an oil and vinegar dressing substitute. On our second visit, we had a very simple Fettucini Alfredo, substituting angel hair pasta for the usual thicker noodles. The Alfredo sauce was super thick, maybe a bit too much so, but still very delicious. The next day, Mr B's solution was to thin out the leftovers with a touch of cream, and it was even better. He ended up making 3 meals out of this one entree. The items we were not as enthusiastic over included the Minestrone soup. Not so great, it was a thin vegetable soup lacking in flavor. Also, the thin crust Margarite pizza, usually a favorite of ours, was underwhelming. I've had better. In hindsight, we were pleased overall, and intend to keep this place in mind when travelling through the area. Lets give it a happy 4.5 star rating.

Thursday, July 18, 2024: We had our office working lunch here and we're a party of twelve. The place was bigger than it appeared, nothing fancy, felt cavernous, and had the sports bar vibe. We were at a table by the a stage. It appears they have live bands perform here. Sorry, I didn't take a lot of photos due to our discussions. They had reasonably priced lunch specials which ranged from $9.00 to $11.00. I opted for their spaghetti bolognese and found it to be delicious! I know everyone else liked their food. Our server was friendly enough but could've been more attentive. I felt this was a good choice for our working lunch because it was spacious & quiet serving up affordable delicious food. Wouldn't mind returning to try their other lunch specials

The Mac and cheese balls were still a little cold in the inside but did not take away from their deliciousness. I shared two plates, the Chicken parmigiana and the chicken Alfredo pizza. I really like the chicken parm, it was light and the sauce was flavorful without being too strong. I thought the pizza was okay, extremely cheesy and dry. I would have enjoyed a saucier pizza, the cheese was very overwhelming. The service was very fast and friendly. Checked in on us multiple times and made us feel comfortable. It was a good dinner!

Honestly, the whole team there is just fantastic; super friendly and always going the extra mile. And let's not even get started on the food - it's consistently delicious, and the prices are so fair you almost feel like you're getting away with something. We went Friday night and yes it was busy but Gioia greeted us and said we could sit at the bar to…read moreeat and drink. This was perfect for us as we were just hungry from not eating since earlier in the day and we just wanted to unwind since we had gone to Glen Ivy for a well deserved soak. First off, I really didn't appreciate the person who was a regular who posted non sensical and petty things about this place. If you have ever been served at a true Italian moms and pops place ...you know things take time as it's made from "scratch". That said...nothing we had that night took too much time to make IMHO. An important thing to note was I was apprehensive to order since I am a Celiac until Gioia told me they had Gluten free pasta for anything except the ravioli and gnocchi. I was ecstatic honestly. Anyhow I did end up with the Chilean sea bass with pasta in a creamy sauce. It was definitely made with parmesan. The pasta itself was al dente (well made and not overdone). My husband had the chicken marsala and was very happy. He wanted me to try it but I told him I couldn't since it had flour (Gioia told me they could always accommodate the marsala for me if I wanted it in the future). That's precious. I thanked her for that. Btw I forgot to mention that they have a QR code for the menu so get ready to try and open that up. We had difficulty only with that though and we had help from a neighboring woman who sent it to my husband's phone. She was a regular and really nice person who had finished eating and was just enjoying a drink with her husband. All in all it was a good night and we got to also chat with two elderly ladies who also were regulars and really kids too. We got to see the owner come out since it was someone's in birthday and it made me laugh to see him with a candle on his head and bringing out the cake for the birthday fellow. I thought that was unique and absolutely adorable. Just know that we highly recommend this Tuscan cuisine and it's made by them personally. They also have a great prep group you get to see in front too. For a busy night I also noticed their one toilet was clean. I am reviewing more here as I wish to let people know the details. Oh and they have a great Chianti and cappuccino too. Our dessert was their cheesecake and that was with blueberry and with amaretto in it. It was so good and even my husband tried some. Yes it was gluten free ...Gioia also checked that before getting it for me. She said they also have almond cookies too and next time I am gonna have to try that. I don't usually go crazy for dessert but this was so tasty and I kind of knew it would be since it's genuinely made with love back there by the owners. I think this family is amazing. Give them a try and don't go if you want to be served in and out like it was fast food. That's not Italian way. I grew up eating Italian foods as I was born there as well as my parents were Croatian and there is a lot of Italian influence over there. It's why when I see food made like this that I know it's right. Thanks for the great night!

Things had already been slipping lately with slow service, burnt food, and even being served a different pasta than what was ordered without being told. We kept giving it grace because the staff had always been kind and it felt like home. This last visit changed that. After appetizers, I went to order my usual pasta with sausage and was told they were out. No one mentioned this earlier. Because I am allergic to dairy, I asked the server to check what options I could have that were dairy free but still included protein. He returned and told me I could have it with cream sauce. At that point, it was clear my allergy wasn't understood, so I asked to speak to a manager. I was told the manager was too busy and it would be a long wait despite the restaurant only having about four or five tables occupied. That response felt incredibly dismissive. I then asked if I could have chicken instead since it was on the menu. Eventually another server came out and said they could put chicken on the side. When I asked if it could simply be added to the pasta so I could eat it together, he told me no and even said there was no point in asking Alfredo because the answer would be no. After years of loyalty, I was sitting there being offered cream despite clearly stating I have a dairy allergy, with no protein option offered even though steak, chicken, and salmon are all on the menu. We asked for the check and left without a meal. Con Amore used to feel like home. Sadly, it no longer does.

I dropped in for a lunch special - two pieces of combination pizza and a salad. The salad was simple but pleasant, consisting of iceberg lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomato and croutons plus my choice of blue cheese dressing. I don't think the dressing was house made, but it was decent. The pizza was the big surprise. The slices were enormous! They were approximately 12" long and about 7" at the top. The toppings were ample, fresh, and included pepperoni, Canadian bacon, sliced sausage, onion, black olives and green pepper. The bottom crust was delightfully crisp as you can only get when you eat in-house. With a soft drink added, the bill was just less than $20. A pretty good deal considering that I'll get an extra meal out of that second piece of pizza. My server was reserved, but very nice, and the food came out quickly. I felt bad for our server because he seemed to be very young and even new. Despite all that, he was great and organized and did well with handling so many different tickets and orders. I got the cotton candy limeade and I kinda wish it was a taller glass because it was SO good! I don't know what cotton candy brand they use but, it tasted like gourmet cotton candy and it was just perfect! We also got the Sicilian Garlic Cheese Bread as an appetizer and that was super yummy too. My husband lived in Italy for 2yrs and so he grew up having authentic Italian food, meaning he's HARD to please. And he really liked the bread! He got the Lasagna and also enjoyed that, but he's used to the Italian version where they use a cream sauce rather than the crumbly cheese. I got the Tuscan Chicken and that was an absolute perfect combo of fettuccine flavors with a wonderful sauce my father-in-law makes from Italy and it was SO good!! It could've used a little more chicken but overall, super yummy.
