What a cute lil place we found! My son is a wrestler and we had weigh ins down the street at the high school so what better way to Celebrate him making weight than throwing down some amazing pasta! First off, the food! I had a shrimp dish that was amazing, the sauce it came with was perfect, shrimps grilled nicely, and the fresh pasta was on point! I was able to steal a slice of the margherita pie before it was devoured while my daughter wasn't looking and two thumbs up there - the crust was great with the sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil -5 just the right amount. The penne vodka was pretty good too. The location was cute as mentioned, part of a strip mall with parking. Staff was very friendly! If I am ever in the area again, I know where we're going...

The most authentic Italian food I've tasted in years. The Sunday Sauce was incredible! Only a true Italian restaurant serves braciole and their version was perfect. Steak so tender and cooked perfectly. The spare rib practically fell off the bone and the meatball was heavenly. And a huge portion! My gf ordered the Linguini Alla Pescatora and she loved it. Good amount of seafood and all fresh and good sized mussels and clams. She couldn't finish so I had it for lunch the next day and it was delicious. This was our first time at Via Sposito and we can't wait to go back.

The place was spacious enough to seat our party of seven. Nice and quaint. The food was very good. We had two pizzas, calamari and some penne vodka. All of them were delicious. Our waitress came off a bit rough at the beginning, but was really nice. But that's New Jersey for you. A bit pricey for a neighborhood spot, but still good overall. If you're young, saved up a bit and you want to impress your date, them definitely check this spot out.

Maybe it was because it was a holiday, but the experience was very disappointing. We had been waiting to try this restaurant since we moved to the neighborhood. The ambiance was lovely and the waitress was lovely and tried her best to be accommodating. My boyfriend had forgotten to bring wine, and she even suggested a place he could go quickly while she patiently waited. For some reason, we were seated at one table and then asked to move to a different same sized table, as someone had apparently reserved the table we were initially seated at. The food overall was disappointing. The eggplant appetizer was ok, but served lukewarm. They had many specials, most of which contained lobster, but after ordering, we were advised they were sold out of lobster ...shortly after 8 pm on New Year's Eve. . The short rib lasagna and shrimp specials were bland and also served lukewarm. Then we ordered dessert and were subsequently told that it also was sold out. We ended up with dry, bland cheesecake and zeppoles. The waitress was the only positive part of our experience. We were hoping this would become one of our regular places, given the proximity to our home, but sadly we are probably "One and Done". Pictures of our entrees for reference.

    Penne alla Vodka

We've been coming here since it opened, and it's hands-down one of our favorite local spots. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious -- we've never had a bad meal. The staff is friendly, the service is solid, and the atmosphere feels like home. Their penne vodka is our go-to -- perfectly cooked every single time. Whether we're dining in or getting takeout, we're always satisfied. It's rare to find a place that delivers quality and consistency, but Via Sposito nails it. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for amazing Italian food!

    Special dessert.. pumpkin pie

On a recent dining experience we were a bit disappointed. Dined in the middle of the week. My husband ordered the grilled halibut special, and i ordered a pizza with meatballs . My pizza was delicious. Not so for my husband. The fish was very dry and way overcooked which was very surprising. Normally it's top notch. It should also be noted the entire restaurant was being serviced by one waitress. She was so overwhelmed but pleasant. Didn't have time to check on our dinner we definitely would have sent it back.

My true score is a 3.75. Wanted some good Italian and did a google search, and this place came up. We made a reservation because judging by the menu pricing this would be a bit more upscale than casual dining. We walked into a pizza parlor with booths. Oh well. The hostess sat us and handed us 2 of the dirtiest menus I've ever seen and a crud covered iPad with the days specials. We had to request new ones. While looking at the menu they bought 3 of the saddest excuses for dinner rolls I've ever seen. If I threw one it could break a window. It's BYOB, so we made some Jack and cokes in the provided clear plastic Pizza Hut cups while contemplating the menu. We decided on Stracciatella Soup and goat cheese/pear salad to start. For mains we had veal Marsala and Sunday sauce with linguini. Stracciatella-I'm not sure who made this soup but the flavor was very good, the only issue we had is that I'm sure this soup is made with a frozen base and the spinach/egg is added after. Probably due to its popularity. It was very good, however I was taught that the egg is added as a drizzle as the base is stirred. This had huge hunks of scrambled eggs. But overall 7/10 Goat cheese salad- fantastic. I think it could have benefitted by tossing the spinach in the dressing prior to service. It was tasty but dry. 6/10 Sunday sauce- this sauce is amazing. Like utterly amazing and I haven't had sauce like this in a very long time. The only thing that ruined it was the fact that instead of par cooking the linguini it was pre cooked and warmed up too long. It was a mushy mess. Sauce 9/10 pasta 4/10 Veal Marsala- there was nothing wrong with this dish. Everything was cooked properly. The veal was pounded thinly and cooked to perfection. Veggies had crunch and were well seasoned. Potato croquette was nice and mild. 9.5/10 If they get their bread game together we will frequent more often it's around the corner from us, but what is Italian food without good bread? Let's be honest. Lastly if your host has time to lean, they have time to clean....especially those gross menus.

The come-on offering 2 for 1 entrees for our Thursday night date night was good for us. Meeting Dolores Esposito the owner, was the icing on the cake. She's amazing!! Allen our waiter was brand new and adorable. He worked hard and it worked well. Pizza made fresh upon order. And as every real Italian restaurant should have, on the menu Italian long hots!! We had the Insalata Di Rapa Rosa. Mmmmmm! Check the menu. Dollops of goat cheese. We did the two for one. We shared the mussels fra diablo and (of course) chicken parm. Both were delish. Fresh warm rolls on the table. A little piece of heaven. Follow and tag them for free dessert. Warm zeppole with powdered sugar. See the photo. Very happy. Do try it!!

Via Sposito is a decent spot to grab a slice or a pasta dish. The highlights were the baked breaded calamari and the margarita pizza. The pasta bolognese didn't have any flavor and the meatballs only had a touch more seasoning. The dining room is small so it can get loud. Nonetheless, I would go here again for just a pizza if I was in the mood for coal fire pizza.

If you want to be berated for asking for balsamic vinegar and have it slammed down on your table with the comment "nobody asks for this", have a waitress with a HORRIBLE attitude (Dolores), get cold (seamed store bought) rolls, and listen to reggae music..this place might be for you. Only beer & wine, no cocktails. Food was pretty good but Dolores was not nice at all and really put a damper on the entire experience. I also believe the owner or manager was directly across from our table and I'm sure he saw and heard, everything. Dolores is going to kill this restaurant!! Fyi...told someone the story of our awful experience at ViaSposito and awful waitress. Their response..and I quote "Dolores right?". It's pretty bad when some random person you've never met knows which waitress has the attitude at a restaurant!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!!!

Shrimp fra diavolo. Spicy, tasty textured linguine with plenty of shrimp, clam, and mussels

We ordered a four-section pie instead, and it was a great way to try a few different options. The Hot Boy pizza with hot honey was easily the standout, and the bottom right slice was also excellent. The darker meat slice on the bottom left was not my favorite. I did not enjoy it, but my partner did. Pizza was huge, and we had plenty left over. Next time, I'll make it earlier for the individual slices! Staff were nice. Environment was nice. Again, I came close to closing time but they were still taking plenty of orders!

It was definitely the star of the three types we had and came out delicious, cheesey and piping hot right out of the oven. Like most bar pies, it needs to be consumed right away as I don't think it travels over time well. The other two styles we had blended Indian flavors with a pizza medium. The nihari beef (weekends only) was a deliciously prepared shredded beef that comes with a stewed broth. First time having it and it was delicious! The butter chicken was heavy and filling but also super tasty. The woman at the counter was very informative and told us everything we needed to know about their pizzas. You're able to get any pizza in any style, offering you a different taste/variation on all their flavors. We'll dedinitely be back to try more and get another bar pie!

AWESOME and SUPER, SUPER, SUPER DELICIOUS pizza!…read more We recently attended a birthday party where the party hosts rented out the Taste of Napoli truck for the duration of their party. I would guess that the truck was present at the party and parked outside of the hosts' house for about 4 WHOLE hours, which was incredibly long, but I'm sure well, well worth the expense. The truck offered 4 different Neapolitan personal pies as part of the Celebration menu - Margherita, Diavola, Cacio e Pepe and Pesto. I had a chance to try at least one slice of every single pie and the pizza was downright legit GREATTTT. Since the pizza was being created and heated in a truck, I had my doubts at first, but those doubts quickly vanished as I devoured slice after slice of the pizza. Personally, I ordered 2 freshly made pies from the truck (Margherita and Pesto) and they were absolutely PERFECTOOOO. If you gave me a blind taste test, I would have thought it was from some Neapolitan pizza restaurant and not a food truck. The pizzas were thin, piping hot out of the oven, incredibly flavorful and EXACTLY how I like my Neapolitan pizza a semi-charred undercarriage. And, let me just say, I have eaten quite a lot of pizza from MANY different pizzerias in NYC, New Haven and around the country and the pizza from this truck was as good as it gets. YES, I said it!!! I don't know if there was a limit to the number of pizzas that they served for the party, but it was sort of a free for all. All of the guests at the party had the freedom to order an entire personal pie on their own, whenever they wanted, however many times they wanted - which was amazing. It was awesome that we could order a fresh, piping hot pizza pie whenever we wanted. It was like a pizza buffet, but really, really, realllllly good pizza at the buffet. I was also able to have a quick chat with the fellas working in the truck and they were super nice and informed me that all of the ingredients were from Italy and you know what? I BELIEVE THEM because the pizza was so ridiculously delicious. I don't know what the rental rate is for the truck, but, one thing you'll be assured of if you go with them is some super EXCELLENT, fresh Neapolitan pizza for your party guests. You definitely won't be disappointed in what you're paying for.
