This review is completely based on the poor customer service. I have ordered from Tres Colore' many times and have generally never had an issue. Food is usually good. Today at 5:55pm, I ordered a large pizza half sausage and half crispy chicken. At 6:45 the pizza arrived. What was delivered was a pie with half sausage and half green & red peppers. When I called regarding the error, the person who answered the phone, who sounded like a young woman, was apologetic and told me she would try to rush the remake. I only live 10 minutes from them. After hanging up, I immediately received a call from them from an older sounding woman, who asked what was wrong with the pizza and then offered a 15% discount on my next order or they would deliver a new one, which would take another hour. She didn't even apologize for the error. I told them I had to leave the house at 7:20 and couldn't wait another hour. I asked them to give me a 50% refund since half the pizza was wrong, which she refused. She told me she had already given me my options; either 15% off my next order or wait another hour for them to redeliver. That was it. Now I know I only live 10 minutes away and I know I could have taken it back and swapped it myself, but because of how dismissive and condescending this woman was, I told her that I would just contact my credit card company and have them process a chargeback. She said, "Fine, leave the pizza outside and we'll pick it up". Hopefully they will just process the refund and I won't have to process the chargeback. So, the pizza is sitting on my front steps. I guess it's time to find another pizza place. I can overlook the mistake. What I can't overlook is the dismissive and condescending attitude of this woman who called me back. Update: Came home at 11:55pm. Pizza still on my steps. They never came to pick it up. Pretty sure I'm going to have to do the chargeback through AMEX. read more

We haven't been to this pizzeria in about 10 years. I guess we went back too soon. On a Saturday night there were only 2 tables. That should have been an eye opener. We had a reservation, but I guess we really didn't need one. We sat at a table and it was greasy and dirty. Ask for it to be cleaned up. No problem there. Being the place was empty, we were in no rush to place an order. But the owner kept on coming by to take it. We said that we would let him know. Ok, we finally did order. I had chicken piccata. It was ok. It had way too much lemon in it and it took away from the taste. My husband had linguine with clams. He said it was ok. My friend had eggplant parmigiana and she said it would do. Her husbands dish I'm it sure what he had but he ate 1/2. We did not have dessert as we did not want to overstay our welcome. read more

Really enjoyed the food here! The pizza was fresh, hot, and had a really good crust with plenty of cheese and flavor. The sandwich was also really good--fresh ingredients, a good amount of filling, and everything just came together perfectly. What really stood out, though, was the service. Everyone was super friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. You can tell they actually care about their customers. I have been customer for a long time and wanted to know if there's new ownership or kitchen staff. I picked up a Lasagna dinner with a side of meatball and had to ask for bread. The lasagna was a bit small and I was provided with stale bread and taste burnt which I feel was yesterday's bread. Tre Colore' is consistently a really great place to grab a casual slice or a more elevated Italian meal. They have a really big and impressive pizza case - so many slices to choose from. Pizza is sooo good. I just haven't found a pizzeria this quality by me. It reminds me of Mancini's in East Brunswick, which I consider to be the best. The vodka slice is a must get. They also make a vodka pepperoni slice - perfection. There are some fun premade sandwiches in the case, and I loved the chicken parm sandwich on a pillowy garlic knot slider. They also have a full grill / sandwich menu for things like burgers, cheesesteaks, chicken fingers and Italian sammies. There is a big casual dining area in the front pizzeria section as well as a back dining room area for a sit down dinner. Overall it's pretty standard for a strip mall Italian restaurant / pizzeria, but the IMO the pizza here happens to be some of the best. read more

Everyone was telling me to go here when I was looking for a quick bite in the area... I know that I didn't try the whole menu, but at least the pizza should be edible at an Italian spot. Bada Bing Bada Boom. That's how I felt when I went to Tre Colore. My parents wanted to stop here because they had dined in last year and really enjoyed the food. We came in around lunchtime to grab a couple of slices to eat before we met up with family members. You can't beat their selection of pie's. We went with the tomato, pepperoni, and Mama's special sauce pizza. Cashier was very efficient in taking our order and our pizza came out fast. The VIP of the pizzas we order was by FAR mama's special sauce. The cashier advised it was a little sweeter than most sauces and it was. It's not overly sweet, but jsut enough to get you to lick your fingers. We originally got the slice for my 7yo daughter, however, we all were using our leftover crusts to soak up what remained of her sauce...SO GOOD! read more

Tre Colore' is tucked into a strip mall along Route 33. They have a lovely dine-in area that I would have loved to sit in if this wasn't COVID season. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and quick with service. I went with the old fashioned tomatoes pie slice and the plain. The old fashioned tomato pie slice was tremendous. The sauce was thick, rich, and full of flavor. Ample oregano was present on top of this slice. The base and crust of the pizza were crunchy and cripsy. The interior of the base was pleasantly fluffy (this is a thicker dough than your standard slice). The old fashioned tomato pie slice was the real winner. The plain slice had a softer base, so I had to fold it to avoid sag. The sauce is good and the cheese had a nice, buttery, salty taste to it. The crust was fluffy and delicious. When we arrived at the restaurant, only 1 other table was occupied. Not like the waiter had too many tables and was busy. The first thing he did was bring out bread that was burnt and appeared to be left over from a previous customer's basket. Burnt side down so we did not see it until after the waiter disappeared back into the kitchen. After about 15 minutes, the waiter delivered my order. Then we waited 10 minutes more for my husband's order. Both orders should have arrived together. This is a kitchen issue. The waiter did not reappear to ask if everything was all right until we were almost done eating. He never came to refill our water. The waiter and his friends were apparently watching some sporting event in the kitchen, based on a lot of cheers and noise. He could not be bothered to leave his game to attend to the functions a waiter generally does. We had to flag him down to ask for the check. Once we did, and he realized it was tip time, he started calling us "my friends" several times. We are NOT his friends. I assume he would take better care of "friends" than he took care of us. My only complaint about this restaurant is that it's over an hour away from where I live! If it were closer it would definitely be on the list of Italian restaurants that I'd go to frequently. Everything was fantastic. The fried calamari was cooked perfectly with light breading. The way it's supposed to be. All of the pasta dishes were al dente and the sauces were amazing. I had the spaghetti with bolognese gravy. A simple dish but easy to screw up. It was perfect! My daughter had the gnocchi in vodka sauce. Another winner! My wife had the chicken Francese. The chicken was pounded thin and the sauce was nice and delicate. So tender you could cut the chicken with a fork. On top of the incredible food, the service was outstanding. If you want an over priced dinner (whose prices are higher than what is advertised on their website menu), in a not clean place, with poor service, a very very very loud dining room, and food that is on par with a high school cafeteria, this place is for you ! The table bread was a soft and tasteless sub roll. The garlic bread with cheese was the same soft bread, with plastic cheese, not fresh oregano or whatever green they put on, and lots of garlic, which was the best part. Many places seem to use this plastic cheese, not sure what the composition is, but it is tasteless and horrible. The pasta with my veal farm dinner, was tasteless and limp, The sauce had no strong fresh flavor, and the veal was paper thin with a lot of breading. My wife's $33, 4 shrimp special, was no better than what she makes at home. The floors are hard and slippery and since they were not clean, I was afraid I was gonna slip. Other than the above, we had a great time ----- NOT There are much better pizza places with dining room in western Monmouth county - so I suggest you stay away, unless you want an over priced dinner in a not clean place, with poor service, a very loud dining room, and below average food. I have always enjoyed the food from this restaurant but was never a dedicated or die hard customer like I have known to be at the other pizza places that I frequent at a minimum of one day out of the week, every week. With that said, tonight I decided to order a pie from tre colore' when I wound typically order slices and eat pizza on fridays. My order consists of one large pizza half meatball and half plain, with a free side of marinara sauce. The pizza is excellent. If you take a look at some of my other reviews, there is a good chance that this is my first 5 star rating. I am somewhat of a harsh critic. The crust is outstanding while my girlfriend really enjoys their sauce. I find the sauce good as well but the crust is perfect. Their meatball taste fresh and are of high quality. I recently moved to New Jersey from NYC and was very concerned with how the pizza would be in the area. Tré Colore came highly recommended and I must say, it didn't disappoint! It's right up there with Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island pizza. BY FAR, the best we've tasted in the area (and we've sampled a bunch of different places since moving here). We even had my entire Brooklyn family over one night for pizza and even they couldn't believe how delicious it was. And that's saying a lot! We live just down the street, so our order always comes fairly quickly, prices are reasonable, and the food is absolutely delicious. I found this place randomly when driving down to Ocean City, MD (wonderful beach town, by the way). My brother and I were starving and got off of the turnpike just to find some place. After being unsuccessful and getting frustrated, I saw an A&S Salumeria in a random strip mall. "I know them" I said. I turned around ASAP only to find it was closed. At that point I was pissed and just wanted to get back in the road. This place was in the same strip mall, so I said the hell with it. What a pleasant surprise! Father and son duo at the helm of the pizzeria in front. Full lineup of slices that actually looked good. Home run derby playing on a TV in the front room. A little pricey for a place out in--whats to me--the middle of nowhere, but whatever the quality was there. I grabbed a regular slice with sausage and a grandma with fresh mozzarella. The crust was very crisp with good flavor but no rise to it. Tomatoes and both types of mozzarella were good quality but nothing to rave about. But the way everything was balanced made the ingredients stand out much more. The sausage on the other hand was great, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was A&S. All in all I probably wouldn't trek out to here, but I was pretty lucky to stumble on a place as good as this. The pizza combined with a Manhattan Special really helped raise our spirits for the trip (until we hit a goose on the turnpike 30-45 min. later which cracked our radiator).
