They used to always have friendly and helpful (I always assumed they were local ag students) people working there. I hope this is a temporary situation. I used to stop every time I drove past. Can't imagine how the girls make it 8 to 10 hours a day in that heat one would think they would at least wear shorts to stay cooler. We have been to other fruit stands in hotter areas that use a misting system to keep the interior at least 10 to 20° cooler without any moisture or water on the floor. Speaking for ourselves, we would spend more time shopping if the temperatures were more pleasant don't need AC, but just something to kind of break the temperature a bit. A high pressure misting system would keep the employees more comfortable and the shoppers and results. They'd probably spend more money. Next time we go, we're gonna buy the girls shorts so I can keep cool.

Even local small business shops advertise thier products like jams, jelly, dressings, seasonings and even fresh baked bread. My two young boys and I head over here about 1-2x a week to shop. The staff is always so kind, super sweet and helpful. I've had so many good conversations! I do a lot of canning and I make a lot of pepper jelly and fruit jam, WITH the produce J&J Ramos farms harvest. It's always the best experience when we come out here.

There's plenty of parking there. We arrived around 8:15am, and we were abit disappointment in the trees as most of the blossoms have fallen off. We walked further down into the farm, and then we found some of the trees still have some blossoms. It looked like snow covered because of the fallen flower petals. We had a lovely time taking pictures and little videos. Because of the time restraint, we didn't visit the farm stand. I would definitely visit the next time I go. It's free to visit. I definitely recommend going to the Secret Garden afterwards for a lovely brunch/lunch/or dinner. That's what we did. :) Also, I think it would have been better to go visit in mid/late February because the trees would have more of the blossoms.

It dawned on me recently when I purchased gorgeous Peacock asparagus from Whole Foods here in…read moreKnoxville, TN that its tag indicates distributed by Turlock Fruit Co. The asparagus from the Peacock Farm was so fabulous that I returned this morning determined to purchase more (only two bunches remained among all asparagus available .. and I again chose Peacock's)! But, the amazing thing is that I live for the day when "King of the West" honeydew's arrive at Publix in July or so ... and I know from the day Publix opened its first store in our fair city that we can count on Turlock's to get these melons this far east! Publix pretty much has a monopoly on these special melons, although I have seen an occasional KOW melon in a rival grocery. I wish I lived closer to CA to see what other wonders Turlock's display/sell. Sandra Butler
