My laminar lights haven't worked properly since the beginning, and I've suggested replacing the control panel several times. Turned the laminars on yesterday and they shot over my pool, I never know how they're going to work and they're never even. Our pumps been leaking for some time, but we've spent all our time and energy just trying to get the decking corrected. Rondo stated they could build our pool with landscaping within 3-4 months. We started in March and we had a pool and all landscaping done in May. We were swimming in June. They stuck to their timeframe perfectly. The entire staff within Rondo were just polite, professional, timely and more importantly informational and honest. We worked with Kyle, Janet, Rob, Holly and Jordyn. Every phase was explained to us in detail and any questions we had were answered. Our pool is fantastic! They have followed up with us several times in person to ensure everything is working correctly and that we understand how to manage things such as cleaning cycles, etc. with the equipment or by using an app on your phone. We have had just a wonderful experience! My wife and I have just completed the process of having our pool installed at our home in Litchfield Park, Arizona. This is our first time having a pool installed, so we were novices in regards to everything...especially regarding what to expect from the Pool builder. They put our pool in October 20, which they added a hot tub. The Tile on the hot tub was a problem it didn't cure and started coming off, they came back and supposedly fix it within the two years and now it been a 1yr and half and it coming off in the same place? I would go somewhere else they don't stand behind their work. Brian the manager said he would look into it and never called back that should tell you something, they don't stand behind their work. We have had our Rondo Pool for just over three years. Looking back the design and installation went off without a hitch. During this time our pool has performed beautifully only requiring basic maintenance to keep it in top shape and looking great. This review is overdue but we had our pool built by Rondo almost 4 years ago and have been very happy with it! and we use it almost everyday, April through September, this has been a hot summer and we're still swimming in the middle of October! ;) If you're considering a pool build here are my tips to get the most out of it. Get the Pentair ScreenLogic controller so you can control the entire pool from your phone, it's one of the best apps I've used, very stable, and just so cool to be able to control EVERYTHING remotely, and even on the Apple Watch too! Very handy and fun! You can even fire up the hot tub before you get home so it's ready for you ;) Get the Ozone addition, I'm convinced it's done a great job keeping our pool crystal clear going on 4 years now, and allows you to run less chlorine too, so win-win. Get the pop-up cleaners, we're happy we did, not sure how much they help in comparison but like I said our pool has remained practically crystal clear going on 4 years now, and they're almost invisible, certainly less slightly than those roving shark cleaners dragging a hose behind them... The only time it gets junk in it is when the neighbor's landscapers blow leaves into our yard, even then the pool takes care of it in a few hours, and there's barely ever anything on the pool floor. We got the deck jets (3x @ $300) a bit frivolous but totally worth it for pool parties and/or kids, or just extra spray on those 110+ degree summer days... If you're getting a spa/hot tub pay attention when they lay out the jets, I wish I did, but no one asked me either. They put them in the middle on all sides but I would rather have them on the ends, or at least a couple, so you can lay back on the bench with a jet on your back, rather than just having to sit in the middle. If you're getting travertine edges or anything other than cool decking I guess, pay attention when they cut and lay it. The guy doing ours kept putting the cut edge facing out (with cut marks) rather than hiding it and leaving the organic side as the visible part, all along the edge of the pool. Thankfully I kept catching it and asked him to fix them multiple times, but frustrating. Get a "Baja deck" -we love ours! one side of the pool has a 3 foot deck only 18" deep, and with 2 holes in the bottom for a table and/or umbrella, your choice of location. It's great and super handy for parties or just lounging, and of course short kids ;) Speaking of umbrella holes, I wish I got more -a hole on the other side pool bench, and more in the cool deck around the pool too. I think they were only $50 and they've proved to be much better than umbrella stands and/or tables when the wind picks up. We've already had a couple tables blow over and umbrellas launch and/or break, but we leave the one in the Baja deck pretty much year-round, it's secure. Ideally I'd have a half dozen or do around the south edge of the cool decking to block the most sun, and can be moved around if necessary. Now I'm digging holes in the dirt around the edges and laying concrete to make my own holes, but wish I just had them in the deck to begin with. read more

I did my research when searching for a pool and Hardscape company. I spoke with, and got a quote from, nearly a dozen companies. I chose Rondo because they were able to accommodate what we were looking for within our budget. We were a little disappointed when we learned the completion time would take nearly a year but the CEO called me himself to explain why the time frames were so far out. I get it, these are tough times. We were given a start date of August 30th when we signed in April. However,I woke ip one day in June and they were excavating and digging the hole. We started June 29th and completed around October 15th. They did our travertine as well and it looks gorgeous. Im giving 4 stars because there were a few things that we felt could have been better. The communication from the construction representative could have been better. We would email and there would be no response. I get that you can't give time frames but a courtesy response would be great. Also, our heater to our spa is not working. However, we never even knew. They recognized the issue and had sent their warranty company out. That gentleman was so helpful but he wasn't able to fix the issue. He comes back tomorrow and our fingers are crossed he gets it repaired. Overall, we were pleased with Rondo. We did not experience any significant issues and they were tentative to us. Even sent a second person to help us learn our pool because we were so lost. John, our project manager, was great as well. He always provided us with next steps. There are several things about our pool build project that are true. We worked very hard to avoid being people who have a horrible pool build story. A pandemic affected the timeframe of our project. We have a beautiful pool. We would not recommend nor use Rondo again. Here's the story of why we wouldn't do it again with Rondo. Once our build started, we were promised a 4 month maximum build time. Project completion took 9 months. This pool build was my husband's childhood dream and to say there was emotional investment in it is an understatement. It was also an extremely expensive project and the product of years of savings and planning. The relationship started beautifully with a pool designer who really seemed to undersand our vision and worked with us to create an amazing design. Once the dig started in July 2020, it was a brand new relationship that started to turn sour by October. Communication from the office was very good early on but faded as we got further into the project. We were asked to be patient and we were. We were repeatedly thanked by Rondo staff for being patient and "great to work with." There came a point where we lost our patience. We know the pandemic threw a big wrench in things. We also know that the pool industry exploded and there were way too many projects and not enough contractors. We know. We know. We know. Things happen. Delays are expected. What Rondo could have done and didn't do was communicate. Many times during this process, we felt we were working harder than they were. It also seemed like there was a significant disconnect between the office and crews working. We had to ask multiple times for them to continue working on the project they were contracted and paid to do. It was exhausting and took an incredible toll on my household. There was also an incredible amount of inefficiency that amounted to more work on our end. We picked materials THREE TIMES. We had to break our covid quarantine to re-order materials twice. The second time, I asked them to call the tile company to ensure that what we had picked was in stock and possible to get it. They called. It was. We left. We were back about five weeks later to re-pick again. As the project neared completion, work pretty much stopped. No one showed up. No one knew anything. Our superintendent seemed frustrated at the inability to get crews out and went well out of his way to try to move our project along. I started poking around online and talked with a few other dissatisfied customers. They were folks, much like us, who were towards the end of their build and were having a lot of trouble getting Rondo to finish it. It distinctly started to feel like the late-build projects were pushed off to take on new projects. In an email with my husband, the owner admitted they were "so busy with new work that small items keep getting pushed back". Ah - there it was! The funny thing is is that we are patient folks and had they reached out to us and stayed in contact, this would be a different review. We very much felt abandoned and not at all like the valued customers Rondo claimed we were. Our pool build contract required us to agree to keep our dog out of yard. Our aging 16-year-old dog did not have access to her yard for the better part of a year. We were so desperate we sent Rondo a letter from the dog asking to finish the pool so she could enjoy her yard before she died. Getting Rondo to the very end of the project felt like pulling teeth. We never received an orientation for the equipment. There is a lot of grout residue we're cleaning off because it was never done. After such an arudous process and expensive project, we were hoping for a grand reveal where all was clean and sparkling. Nope. At this point, we're grateful that our relationship with Rondo is over. The end project is beautiful but it will never negate the time, energy and money we spent to build it. And it will never change this negative experience into a positive one where I recommend the company to others and feel good about the process. read more

I met with several pool companies prior to choosing Rondo. I ended up choosing Rondo because of their customer service approach. It started on a Saturday when I was driving by their office and decided to stop in, they are closed on Saturday's but their VP Steve was in the office and let me in when I walked in unannounced through the unlocked front door. Steve talked to me for 20 minutes telling me about the company, the process, current construction time frames etc... He then took my info and said he would have someone call me on Monday. On Monday, I got a call from a designer, on Wednesday the designer came to my house and we walked the lot. I gave him one picture of a specific wall and water feature I wanted, then I threw several ideas at him of what I envisioned. One week later we had a plan that was spot on, approx 2 weeks later we met and finalized the plan. My project manager was Anthony and he's flat out amazing. If you choose Rondo, ask that Anthony get assigned to you. He returns all calls same day or next morning, and he's always on time. He has many years of construction experience and as the project moved forward, he made several little changes to enhance the look of my pool because he was not happy with either the initial installation of something or how it looked from certain angles. One example was he had additional tile installed on a side wall that is rarely seen from the main house. However, Anthony said if people sit over to the side in chairs, it would be visible, and he did that w/ no charge to me. He then had an entire row of water line tile removed and reinstalled so that it had a more random pattern which allowed it to transition better to the next portion of the pool. In order to keep things moving, he handled some projects himself that I'm sure someone else would normally do. He deserves a raise or nice year end bonus! As with any project, there will be delays and construction issues etc... I specifically had two of those and on both I called the owner Kevin. Kevin called me back the same day both times, one of those calls was on a Friday at 5pm'ish. He stepped in and gave me a commitment and met that commitment each time. I read many of the reviews and see comments about the length of the project. In all fairness, labor and material availability is beyond the control of most companies at some point. I would rather wait and have it done right, then rush it and have quality issues down the road. Since completing the pool, I have had a couple of minor follow up requests, each one has been completed in a satisfactory period of time. Overall, the project has exceeded my expectations. read more

I wish I could give Rondo less than one star. The only positive aspect of our experience was the excellent service we received from Bryan, our salesman. However, the rest of the company did not meet his high standards of professionalism. Our project was a disaster from start to finish. Rondo did not submit our permitting until over 5 1/2 months had passed, which invalidated the price guarantee since construction must start within 6 months. We were able to complete building a 5600 sq ft building with proper permitting within 3.5 months, using the same documents for permit approval we gave Rondo, so there really was no excuse for their permitting application delay. After approval from the county, the person in charge of permits waited an additional two weeks to inform us that our pool cost had increased significantly and we would need to sign an addendum for the price increase. If we had cancelled, Rondo would have charged their cancellation fee(which was understandable) but also charged us for the work done for permitting yet not sign it over to us as the homeowner if we agreed to pay. We had already waited 10 months and didn't want to start from scratch. That may have been a bad decision. We ended up paying over 20% more than the original contract amount, even though we removed installing the heater from the contract. We were given on-the-spot price increases, and if we didn't blindly agree to pay without any documentation, Rondo threatened to pull the crew, which would have further delayed completion. We started to question the legitimacy of these charges when we were asked to agree without receiving an actual dollar amount and to just agree to pay. Additionally, the so-called project manager was rarely on site and told my spouse to deal with the subcontractors directly. We were told that the subcontractors were not Rondo's responsibility, and we were warned not to upset them, or they might leave. We hired Rondo to manage and if we had wanted to manage subs ourselves, we would have been our own GC. After 15 months, our yard looked like an explosion site, and I had to start cleaning up after the workers. Even the other subcontractors noticed the poor job that had been done and the appalling way our yard was left for weeks on end. There were many other examples of poor communication, practices, and a lack of understanding of customer service. Rondo has not shown to be integral to trust their "warranty" as they were non-responsive to any concerns when building. Contract and deposit Nov 5/2021- Pool Completion - April 1/2023. We recently completed our first pool with Rondo. We met with 3 different companies and chose Rondo for the following reasons: 1) Nailed the design on the first draft. 2) Came ready to solve challenges (yard access issues, hard-dig, gas line far away, etc.). 3) Robust project plan. Contract signature to swim-day was 11 months. This was the timeline we expected as there is a lot of planning, decision making and permits to pull up front. The actual build process was 5 months and once they started, it didn't stop. Exactly how you want the process to go. Rondo won out for a number of reasons - a long standing local company with a great reputation, they created a unique, amazing design -- one that fits our lifestyle and exactly what we wanted! -- they carry an extensive selection of materials and they use the equipment we wanted. We signed our contract the end of May, 2022 -- not good timing on our part, but we didn't want to wait any longer. Rondo was very upfront that they couldn't start until November. While the entire process took a year and a half (our pool was finished late August 2022), Rondo was in communication re: delays and they were transparent about where there were shortages in material and labor so we knew at all times where we stood. It was challenging given the delays and we missed the pool season last year, but the quality of work is incredible. We found Rondo's vendors to be of very high quality, they were professional and respectful of property while doing the work, and showed up to make changes/repairs when we needed them. Everyone from our designer to our project manager, from customer care to our start up technician, from the owner to post build/warranty support was amazing to work with! Rondo just finished our pool last month and we are very pleased with the results. We started the process in May and got quotes from different pool builders in the valley, including Rondo, Presidential, Cal Pools, Dolphin, and Unique Companies. We spent a few months going back and forth on designs and pricing before we selected Rondo. One of the most important things to us was the core pool infrastructure. We wanted to make sure that it was engineered with the right in-floor cleaning system, large diameter pipes, and the right pool equipment. We selected Rondo because the A&A gamma (Venturi) system was superior to the systems offered by other vendors, and because they were a Pentair shop. Also, their quote was very competitive, if not the best, especially considering the quality of the equipment. We signed with them in August (there was a delay before they could start, which is normal) and things were going very well until October, when we had torrential rain. Our pool had been dug, had pipes and rebar, and was filled with water along with other trenches for gas, plumbing, and electrical. Rondo sent crews out to drain it out several times and managed to prevent any collapse. It was pretty stressful, but Rondo was very responsive and got everything back on track. There were other rain delays, holidays, and other changes (from us), so things we're pushed out a bit, but it was finished last month (January) and I am just now getting time to review. We've used our spa a few times and it works great, and we are looking forward to fully using the pool soon. This pool turns the water over very quickly and we are getting great pressure out of our cleaning heads. Without the ability to turn the water over quickly, you'll never be able to maintain proper pool chemistry and your pool will require much more maintenance and be a pain to deal with. please read and i hope you decide to not do business with this company. i see many complaints about how long it took and while that was our experience too that is not why you should run the other way. they do not stand behind their work. they find any excuse or claim to hide behind instead of doing what is right. we paid 125k and we had issue after issue with our spa tile - heater and ac. after 3 years - our spa tile fell off. after many attempts and reaching out -no one returned our calls- came to see what was causing it or offer any assistance to a solution- they claimed out of warranty. we reached out to 3 tile experts and 2 general contractors- who all confirmed the tile was not done correctly. additionally they found leaks where the tile and pebbletec meet that contributed to the problem. by the time we are done with this "repair" it will be over 11k to fix these issues - after 3 years- does that seem right or good business. i even asked for help - replace at cost or just cover labor - no response from kevin the owner for any assistance at all. so - im taking the only action i can- social media and court. please please do not give them your business. we had to remove all tile and grind it down to reapply. again- 2 gc and pool tile experts all stated this is 100% defective and should have never happened. rondo will try to say its because of the glass and that is not true. just ask yourself - do you think its reasonable to pay over 11k to fix an issue after 3 years? so beware. UPDATE---- What Kevin mentions below is absolutely not accurate. I have proof- emails and documentation to 100 % support all of my information. Let me be clear that the demand letter sent from the attorney was because the attorney found just cause for the fact that the work was not done correctly. This was all done over a year after our initial contact with Kevin to try to resolve it and meet in the middle with absolutely no response or reach out from him or anyone at his company. As I stated to his superintendent, when he came out, we had multiple attempts to see how we could reach middle ground. But nobody would even return our phone call. The dates by Kevin are incorrect. I have documentation to prove they are incorrect. There is absolutely no reach out from Kevin. In fact--- Only after I posted this review did someone call me to offer for a person to come to our home and take a look. He had aperson that came out to basically say there's nothing we can do. What's interesting is that the same person said I 100 percent agree with you that this is not fair and not right. Kevin's own person said I'm going to talk to Kevin and see what we can do because I agree I would not be happy with this as well. What you need to ask yourself is are you willing to do business with this company when they don't stand behind their product. Ask yourself if it really makes sense that you should have to spend $11,000 after only having your your pool up and running for three years. Yes- it's now 4 1/2 years because we've been battling this for over a year In fact- The dates that Kevin references is because it took them over nine months to even respond to any of our emails or phone calls they kept putting us off. To this day Kevin has never picked up the phone or come to our property to review our issues. I can assure you the feedback from the general contractors and the tile expert that was at our house all of which do not agree with what Kevin is saying. It 100% was the craftsmanship. Even the pebbetec company that came out said it was the result of missing grout- and how the water got behind the grout. What Kevin is also not mentioning is that we had 3- yes 3 - warranty claims with our spa tile and grout before we tan out of warranty. This was an issue at 6 months and they never properly cared for this. I'm sorry - but it's just not good business - it's just not right!! We have been looking forward to our 1st AZ Summer in our new house with a pool. However, we have a concrete hole in our backyard in June. Excavation started in January! We are completely disappointed with the service, excuses and lack of communication. This is the most unorganized company I have ever worked with. We can respect delays when there is proper communication, but there is none. Off to the ROC we go. Go elsewhere and do not waste your time or money. This company came high recommended to us however my experience with them has not been very pleasant. They have a huge problem with communication that did not improve over the course of the build even after speaking to the owner twice. Originally I was given an estimate of 6-8 weeks from start of excavation. After no work being done for several weeks I called and spoke to the VP Dave. He then informed me it was an 8-10 week build however I knew they would not be able to have it competed in that time frame as I have previously had a pool built. The VP guaranteed it would be done and said he stated the companies reputation on it. However it still took longer than the 10 week period. I continued to have delays until I spoke to the owner Kevin who got work crews out there and got progress on the pool however his people in charge still continued to lag. The final project did come out nice however They did not seem to value me as a customer and had a low priority on completing my pool. Even simple little things like showing up on time for meeting with the site supervisor could not be completed. Once the pool was completed we still had issues such as problems with the plumbing for the spa, damaged pavers and equipment that was improperly installed. We still continue to have the builder come out and fix things that should have been done when the job was completed after 17 weeks. I would not recommend using them to build a pool, as it has been a very frustrating experience knowing how a company can and should be when building pools. They have had multiple issues with my build and have said it was an unusual occurrence however with the amount of issues with my build and other reviews I doubt it is an isolated incident. After Posting this review, the owner did call and speak to me. I do agree that they did build a beautiful pool. He did point out that he has been reactive and that issues have been corrected when they have been brought to his attention. The problem is the lack of communication unless I spoke to the owner directly and the number of issues that arose throughout the build of my pool. read more

Worst company I have ever used. Their motto should be, that's not Rondo's responsibility, we won't pay for it. That's all I heard when they damaged my new paver driveway. Be aware, they will damage your property and tell you it's just part of doing business. The communication was horrible. I would get an email like, hardscape will be out on Monday and if not, sometime after that. No one would show up and then 10 days later, there are strangers in your backyard staring at you when you wake up. Stay away from this company! read more

It started with my wife meeting with Matt M. to get an estimate for a backyard pool, when he left he said that he would have our estimate done in a few days. About a month later my wife called to find out why we hadn't received an estimate, he said that he was almost done with it. He sent the estimate a few days later, then once we had it he wouldn't stop calling and emailing asking for a contract. We signed on September 9th and Matt assured us that the pool would be dug by mid October and finished around Christmas but definitely before January 1st 2021. After discussing some details and deciding where we wanted the pool positioned they sent a person to paint the dig outline, 8 feet away from where we wanted it... When I talked to Matt he told me that he could re-do the drawing and permit where we wanted it, but we might like it better where he drew it. Around January 4, after a handful of missed messages and unreceived emails they sent an excavation crew to dig the hole. Then nothing.... it took nearly a month to get the plumber to show up at 5 pm to start working. After 2 DAYTIME visits, the plumber was done, and there was garbage left everywhere. Empty boxes, cut pieces of pipe, energy drink cans on the front lawn, oil on the driveway from his truck. The next contractor was rebar, who did his job promptly,and correctly, then left with no surprises. Next was electric, which as of this writing has never been finished, and we failed our inspection as a result of their incomplete work. Then several weeks later they came and did shotcrete, meanwhile a friend of mine had his pool dug after ours and finished and filled before we had shotcrete. We were scheduled for deck forming a couple weeks later, but they missed 2 appointments and showed up a week later, which pushed the deck pouring back a week. After the pouring of concrete, I came home to find that they had pulled the forms and threw all of the broken wood into our new pool Now they can't get the tile contractor to come out, maybe next week... then 3 other tasks will be delayed because of this. While I was researching with the AZ ROC I learned that any binding contract needs to have a completion date, but Rondo says that they can't control their unreliable subcontractors, so they don't need to give a completion date. When I contact our project manager he tells me that he has no contact with subs, and I need to call Cadie, who won't answer if I call the office phone, so I have to borrow cell phones that she doesn't know to contact her on her phone. When I do get in contact with her, she has no useful information or answers, and quite frankly I can't think of anything that would prove her less helpful. She will always reply by email at the exact time that they close, but they can always pick up the phone and call when they want money. This organization has consistently shown less professionalism than the carpet installers who urinated in our driveway on their way out. read more

The long delays came to an end, the project manager that took over midway saved the day and we finally got the pool we wished for and more. Make sure you ask that Anthony be your project manager and you'll be happy. 5 star quality pool. Took away one star because of delays and poor communication on the 20+ delays. read more

Your team has been incredible to work with. Starting with Joseph in sales spending so much time explaining things to us, answering all our questions, great custom design, not pushy on upgrades, being available for follow-ups, etc. Great guy. I interact most with project manager Kyle at this point seeing him every time he comes out (since I work from home) - and he's here all the time prepping for the next sub, QC'ing the last work, etc. He's friendly, professional, and meticulous about the work. Each of the subs has done outstanding work, and (without bothering them I hope), I talk briefly with each of them - great group of people who want to do excellent work and have a good time doing it. Overall, I just love the great communication, excellent progress, attention to quality and detail, etc. We are so pleased we chose you to build our pool. read more

I could not have made a worse decision picking Rondo as our pool builder. We signed our contract in March of 2021. They estimated an 8 months build time. Since covid made everything delayed we were ok with that time frame. Fast forward five months and they still hadn't even dug. They called us and said hey we have a clause in our contract that says if we haven't dug in in 120 days or somewhere around there we can up our prices. I said well it is through no fault of ours you couldn't dig and we thought we locked in our pricing when we signed the contract. They said no we want another $5,000 or we will not start. We have you scheduled to dig in 2 weeks but you have to pay this extra money. We already gave the deposit and they knew if we called it off we would be at least a year out with another builder and more money so we were very unhappy but paid the money. It has been 14 months since we signed and we still do not have a pool. It has been one disaster after another. I wish I could go back in time and use someone else. I was told everything should be done by May 1st and that is not even close to happening. Don't walk, run the other way from this awful company. Trust me you can find better!!!! read more

We are in awe of our backyard! The vision we had was captured by Brian as he designed the pool for us. He worked with us, over and over, to create our dream. Our pool took a long time but we were told every step where we were in the process and knew what to expect. Jordyn, at the office, is absolutely lovely. She was always so helpful and truly excited for us to have the pool we wanted. Every minute we waited for the completion was worth it. Our new home is beautiful but our friends barely notice our home, they are immediate pulled to our stunning yard. Good - 1) Outstanding design by Bryan E. Sophisticated and elegant. Well fitted to a lot that had a couple challenges. 2) The finished pool is a beautiful, quality product. Other than good - 1) Took 8 months from signing the contract to finishing the pool. Permit problems, slow start, slow finish, with a burst of activity in the middle. 2) $6500 in extra costs, partly for a Drainage and Grading plan, not in our contract, partly for additional fencing, which 2 Rondo reps told me I wouldn't need. All in all we would use Rondo again and recommend them. read more
