The bar is right up front, and what you think is a small place turns out to have a very nice dining area off to the left. The menu is excellent with wine pairings for the entrees. If I would've taken the time to look on their website and read about the chef's consulting background (Black Angus, Outback Steakhouse, Applebee's, TGI Fridays, KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Subway, Burger King and McDonald's), we wouldn't have gone. My girlfriend and I went in for date night, based on the high Yelp rating. We went on a rainy night around 6:30, and for some reason, we were quite literally the only people there besides the staff. They were very nice, and the dim lights made it feel warm. The food, though? Decidedly middle of the road. The drinks were $18 each and interestingly named. Hers was good, mine was fine, then we switched to wine (and stopped rhyming). They had a special menu item--chicken parm, which we split. The pasta was overcooked and overall it tasted like a frozen chicken parmesan entree from a decent brand. We got the canolis, but my girlfriend is from NY, and judged them harshly. We also got the caesar salad, which is a wedge with what tasted like dressing you'd get at the grocery store. It was fine, but $18 it should not have been. Authentic Italian, this is not. Where do I start... we walked in and we were greeted by the waitress and she quickly sat us down. Fresh flowers on every table, nice touch to the tables. A little dark in the dining area. Some may have a hard time reading the menu, depending where you are sat. Everything is sold separately... salad, bread etc...Our entrées were delicious, decent portion size. Sadly, I wish I could say the same about the appetizer we ordered. We ordered the artichoke dip. Yes, it was delicious. But the portion size was completely ridiculous!!! Only five small slices of baguette was served with a big ramekin full of artichoke dip. Maybe this appetizer is not meant to be shared. I don't know, but that was a huge disappointment for sure. Waitress came back and offered to take away the dip away since there were so much left of it and no more bread. I quickly said no, I thought she was going to offer more bread, but I guess not. Someone else ordered it across the room from us and also complained among themselves about the amount of bread. The second thing I had an issue with, was the plastic tumblers that are used for your refreshment. This Italian restaurant comes off as a little high-end, but serving water in a plastic tumbler is far cry from a high end restaurant. Relaxing music playing in the background. An outdoor patio is also available for seating, ample parking. Not sure if I would come back to be honest. If I do, I would not order any appetizers. read more

First time back since they changed from Chef's Grille to Roni's West. We made a reservation for NYE, which is also my birthday! There were 6 of us, and we got seated in the dining room, which was beautifully decorated for the holidays. All the staff, from the hostess, to the server, bussers, and owner were very warm and friendly. We got a reasonably priced bottle of wine for the table and a few other cocktails. Nice wine selection, and they have a full bar. Everyone loved their dish, from ravioli rose', to chicken picatta, to the meatball sandwich. But, the standout was the meat (filet mignon) sandwich! Hubby and my mom said it was perfectly cooked, was bursting with flavor, and the best sandwich they have ever had. We had a fantastic time, and will continue to frequent this restaurant. You are cheating yourself if you don't go to this restaurant. First time visit for me since it became Roni's West and it did not disappoint. First of all, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff and service was amazing. They were friendly, smiles on faces and it brought an upbeat, positive energy. We started with the Roni's Roasted Garlic. This was absolutely amazing. The garlic was like butter and so flavorful. I ordered the Shrimp Capri for dinner which is sautéed shrimp in a garlic cream sauce, served over angel hair pasta. It was so delicious. The sauce was too die for. This is my new favorite Italian restaurant. And we will definitely be back. If I could give 10 stars, Roni's West would get it! read more

5 stars Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! We started with the garlic cheese bread, which was everything you dream of in an appetizer, crispy edges, soft center, and bubbling, golden cheese. It came with a rich marinara sauce topped with Parmesan that made each bite even better. Honestly, it could be a meal on its own! Then came the Sicilian meat sandwich, hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Tender filet mignon steak, melty cheese, and a flavorful garlic aioli all packed into their absolutely top-tier bread. The bread alone is worth raving about, crusty on the outside, soft and airy inside, and clearly fresh-baked. The staff was super friendly and informative, taking time to explain the menu and even giving us updates on the restaurant. You could really tell they care about both the food and the people. Went for an early dinner on sunday, so we were greeted and seated immediately. We decided to order several appetizers and one pasta. We had the octopus with chorizo, wild mushrooms, garlic bread, and the shrimp capri. Everything was fantastic. The service provided by luis and the staff was excellent; we were checked up on periodically, just the right amount without being intrusive. The other thing we wanted to try was the fire roasted brussel sprouts which luis pointed out was only available friday and saturday. We'll have to return one day to get that. read more

If you go to get some pasta, look somewhere else. We ordered al dente pasta, and they didn't even know what that is. But at least they took it off the check. Host was nice, servers okay. Drink was the only good thing. We probably won't go there again. read more

My review is based on takeout, so I won't comment on service or anything like that. I'll also say, I have never taken the time to write bad reviews. I have only reviewed places where I've had good experiences, so this is a first. The artichoke dip was ok, but it didn't look anything like the photos. The garlic bread was fine, but again - looked nothing like the photos. The fettucine Alfredo was by far one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. I took one bite and threw it away. It tasted like cleaning supplies - absolutely disgusting. I don't know what they put in it, but it was not Alfredo sauce. I wasn't expecting anything 5 stars, but I was expecting something edible. I cannot believe this place has such good reviews. ***Editing my review to respond - not once did I comment on the consistency or the temperature of the pasta. I even specifically stated at the beginning of my review that this was a takeout order. Please go back and re-read what I wrote before implying something that is false. I was strictly commenting on the taste. The TASTE of the sauce is what I was reviewing. It TASTED like someone spilled cleaning supplies or chemicals in it. It was inedible. This place takes forever to do anything. Kitchen is tiny for the amount of tables. Expect to wait well over an hour for food. Won't be returning Edit: the owner decided to respond before figuring out why I was waiting. Turns out didnt even have the order in after giving me attitude for asking. Laughable response though. Atleast Olive Garden I might actually get my food without attitude. i understand it was technical with the computer but when I asked at 720 about my food, maybe instead of just saying 5 min you should have checked before 8 o clock rolled around and I was asking for a refund P.s. First time here and our experience was amazing! Excellent service, delicious dishes, great drinks, warm welcome, clean restrooms, and lovely ambiance. Our server was Greg, he had wonderful insights on the menu, and Chef Martin rounded at our table to have a welcoming chat with us; really made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend Arti (artichoke) dip, perfect blend of roasted red peppers and artichoke creating a very flavorful dish. The bread that comes with the dip was perfectly crispy on the outside and still soft and did not get soggy when putting dip on it. So impressed! Had Coco Bella Margarita, refreshing and perfectly balanced. Spaghetti and meatballs were fantastic, wonderful smooth texture, moist, and very flavorful. Pasta was perfectly cooked and so good, easy to tell pasta is hand made. Oxtail dish was rich, full bodied, fall off the bone tender, perfectly cooked, and served in its sauce. It is served on a bed of smashed potatoes and accompanied by roasted rainbow carrots and veggies that completes the dish perfectly. Also had Giambotto Stufati, hand made spinach fettuccine noodles, and the mushrooms and sauce were wonderful. We had Budino Di Pane (bread pudding) for dessert but had to take it home because we were so stuffed, and was sheer perfection! Perfectly crispy on the outside and so moist on the inside. This will be a place we recommend to others, and will be one of our favorite restaurants to come back to. I don't think there is another restaurant like this here in Murrieta and I'm looking forward to trying so many more dishes! read more

I don't know why this restaurant isn't a solid 5 star because it most certainly deserves it based on eating there last night. My husband is a marinara snob. He is really picky about how it should taste and we've been searching for a great Italian restaurant for a long time. He ordered spaghetti and meatballs and loved their sauce. What a relief! He was finally happy. I ordered the vodka penne and it was excellent with lots of sauce. The tiramisu was supberb and my husband said, "Now THIS is tiramisu!" We most definitely will be back and we are so glad that we finally found a GREAT Italian restaurant. Also, loved the service and ambiance! read more

Food was mediocre at best. They claim to make their noodles fresh but tastes more like Trader Joe's boiled noodles. I know the owner will have some unhinged reply to deflect from the review rather than take the constructive criticism and do better so I'm excited to see what kind of hostile reply he will post. But I will add that if the chef attacks rather than say they will do better the next time this probably isn't the best place to go. A recent visit left me very disappointed. The lasagna I ordered was practically devoid of tomato sauce and drowning in ricotta cheese. The sauce-to-cheese (and sauce-to-pasta) ratios were completely off, which left the dish dry. It had a dull, uniform texture like it was reheated in the microwave from frozen, opposed to a homemade lasagna. It unfortunately didn't come with meat, which would've brought at least some type of flavor and a welcoming contrast in texture. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was just as bad. The tacky atmosphere: plastic cups, TVs, and a waiter flipping through channels while standing directly behind us mid meal made more for a distracting setting rather than a cozy Italian restaurant. The whole visit was completely unsatisfying and I certainly won't be back. read more

So upon visiting this "new place" we realized it's still Chef's grille (which we didn't think was anything special at all. We found out the chef is the same they just changed the menu and rebranded. So we stayed to give them a shot. The food and service were both pretty good. My husband ordered shrimp Pietro he really liked it. BUT, they leave the tails on the shrimp and nobody wants "finger food" in their meal with a sauce topping. I ordered chicken piccata. It was ok but needed more capers, more butter and more lemon. We will likely be back to try this place again. But I hope they improve. read more

We liked Chefs Grille. But the food we had tonight was horrible. Salad good. Chicken breast was hard and dry. I had chicken cacciatore which I found to be inedible. There was a small amount of chopped chicken which had chunks of grizzle in it in a tasteless sauce. Supposed to have spinach which i did not see on a bowl of noodles. I hardly touched it. It was awful. No wine no dessert. $78. Shocking!! We left there and went for a hamburger as we were still hungry. read more

We wanted to try something new other than our normal local mom and pops we frequent. The sever was super nice and superrrrrrr slow. The place is small and there were only 2 other tables in the entire place but we didn't see him much. We also found out about the specials after our meal on the board outside because our server didn't mention them. I probably would have made a different decision had I known the specials. My daughter and I both got a filet mignon dish, sadly both were well over cooked which pretty much kills a filet. Honestly we will probably try again and see if it was just an off night. read more
