Having grown up on the east coast and enjoyed Saturday nights in New Haven at their park concerts, we were sooo looking forward to coming here. But it was a bust. We didn't finish any of our food. It was either, over cooked, burnt, or just uneatable. My pasta sauce must have been reheated several times. Because it was no longer any shade of red, but black. My wife's Chicken must have been cooked in rancid cooking oil. See photos.

This restaurant is honestly under rated. I had an amazing time here and the head chef came out to ensure that. Little did he know, we were a bit disgruntled after driving 2 hours and waiting almost another 2 across the street for some BBQ food - but little did WE know that we were in for a treat. By design if you ask me. We had the bone marrow, roasted garlic, Caesar wedge, elk fettuccine, lamb pop's with mint jelly and the beignets. The paired wine was splendid and we finished off the night with a pour of Hogsworth with the Chef. What a night we had! The cutest authentic Italian restaurant with date night/family vibes. Worth the drive and I CANNOT wait to go again.

Mother's Day 2025: My awesome & loving family treated me to a delicious lunch. Reservations are a must! We used to frequently eat here when it was formerly known as the Chef's Grille. It has a warm, inviting, and rustic decor. It does well as an upscale Italian eatery offering culinary delights. The food was incredible! I ordered the gluten free chicken pesto dish, which I would order again. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive to our needs. My family agreed the food was excellent & a return would be in order. Thank you to Chef Martin & staff for making this a rather toothsome and memorable dining experience for Mother's Day!

We went here foe dinner with our neighbors. It was eerily quiet for a Wednesday evening, but oh well, we still enjoyed ourselves. Service was amazing and so was the food. We ordered the Garlic Bread appetizer (delicious) along with Meatballs Marinara (yummy) with Ronis homemade Lasagna as our entrée. To take home, we ordered the Cannoli Siciliano...divine!!! A fabulous meal and good time had by all. Highly recommended

Roni's Restaurant is a fantastic venue for great food, drinks, and genuinely friendly staff who make you feel like family. I highly recommend this locally owned and operated restaurant for your next outing. When I was Mayor of the City of Murrieta, I was always looking for outstanding businesses to invest in and serve our extraordinary community. Roni's checks every box, and they truly deserve your support.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon for LUNCH for the FIRST TIME! SERVICE: A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Madison and another lovely lady who cheered for the Bruins was helping us that day! GO BRUINS!!!!! TORTELLINI ROSE: Was so rich and creamy! It was the star of the show! FILET PASTA: Hubby said he thought the sauce was watery and the meat was chewy but, the service made up for it... WILD MISHROOMS: Great starter! I love mushrooms with arugula salad. ROCK ON RONIS WEST!

    Garlic bread is delicious!

We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The reviews looked good so I was excited to try it. It was a quaint little place and not busy at all. We were seated right away by a friendly waiter. We ordered the garlic bread which came out hot and delicious. Great start! I ordered a shrimp pasta and hubby ordered a steak pasta. Both were good but nothing super memorable. There are still a few other things on the menu that I'd like to try. The service was great so we'll definitely give them another try.

I've been dining at Chef Martin's establishment for over four years, and it never disappoints! Portions are great and prices are reasonable. There's never a compromise to quality here. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, look no further. I love that the menu has something for everyone...gluten-free garlic bread, and a selection of Italian dishes you simply can't find anywhere else. I love the bleu balls, mussels in lemon pernod sauce, sautéed wild mushrooms, lamb osso buco, giambotto stufati (if you don't know about this dish, you should ), and smoked pork chops. The parking lot made for a convenient arrival. Consistent quality, great service, and a unique menu makes it my top pick in the area - hands down. If you're tired of the predictable menus elsewhere, Roni's is a breath of fresh air!

    The Mad Italian

Was our first time and we're definitely coming back. The bread for both the mad Italian and the bruschetta were crispy in the outside and so tender in the middle. Big, savory, and bright Italian flavors. Greg was our server today and was so kind and helpful. Very knowledgeable with the menu making our experience so comfortable. Definitely coming back for a Wednesday date night special!

Did this place change ownership?? My husband and I loved it when it was Chef's Grille, but this last time was just... not good! We ordered for pick up and honestly, the only positive thing I can say is that my order was ready when I walked it at the exact time frame they gave me. Other than that, it was bad. For $81 we got meatballs, chicken piccata and the filet minion pasta. The portion size was laughably small. The noodles for both pastas were way overcooked. Like chef boyardi mushy! Also, the food was just bland. We're so disappointed and won't be visiting this place again.

Rib eye, asparagus and garlic mashed!

This was our first visit tonight. This is like a little secret type place we have passed by a few times a day. They had a lot of items on the menu to choose from. We started off with a beer and an old fashion. We chose the meatballs for an appetizer and they were so good! They were two nice sized meatballs served with a yummy bread. We then chose our entree and we both chose the ribeye steak and missed out on the prime rib which is only served on Thursdays. I ordered my med well and it was perfect! The butter on the steak was a blue cheese with mushroom butter. Our meals were served with asparagus and garlic mashed. The whole meal was perfect and we each brought half of our meals home as they were generous servings. All of the food was fresh, hot and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was Jessica who was so helpful with suggestions and gave excellent service. Tonight was open mic night which we were not able to stay for but it looked like fun. Not sure if it was the owner? roni? But there was a nice gentleman who was out and about and wanted to know how our meal was! We will definitely be back and will recommend to neighbors and friends. Can't wait to go back and try some other items.

The food was great! Zero complaints there. Our waiter was kind and attentive, however, the rest of the staff started cleaning up and collecting table cloths and lamps from empty tables an hour before closing. I would've given Ronis a 5/5 if it had not been for the early cleanup. It made me and my party feel rushed. Overall enjoyed my experience and would come back, though!

I've worked in hospitality (hotels, restaurants and fine dining) throughout most of my adult life…read more I'd have LOVED this restaurant it were it not for their inept and abusive management. "Brynn" (the manager of Rusico) made the cowardly decision to allow a random kid to SKATE through the dining room, bar area and restroom all evening long. A scalded child and/or a bashed into patron with a broken hip just waiting to happen. By the time Brynn appeared at my table she was defensive and argumentative. Brynn hovered imperiously over my small table -- all the better to talk down to me in superior tones. In an argumentative display of poor hygiene, the woman stooped down just a few inches above my dinner plate and glass of wine as she scolded me for having dared to voice any complaint to my waitress. In the process, Brynn sprayed my plate and drink with her own spittle as she lectured me. Hoping to calm this enraged woman and to protect the cleanliness of my meal and drink I invited Brynn to briefly take a seat at my table as we spoke. Brynn cast and manipulatively ugly response to my offer of a seat at the table as well spoke saying, "I'm NOT here to CHITCHAT WITH YOU!! I HAVE A RESTAURANT TO RUN!!" She then strutted off--- to do nothing about the kid still skating through the aisles of the dining room, bar and bathroom. I watched in horror as an elderly couple narrowly averted collisions at the whim of the reckless tween. Maybe just as bad, a woman was trailing behind the bored roller skater --- so as soon as we (customers) figured the road is clear from the roller skater and ventured toward the restroom or our car we risked bringing slammed into by the adult lecturing from behind. My gutless waitress, "Sam", informed me that she "would NEVER ask a parent to have their kid remove his skates". She told me "We can't teach parents how to parent their children! That is NOT OUR JOB!!" Oh lord. Sam's for real? I've witnessed terrible scaldings happen to kids permitted to run in restaurants I've worked. Let alone allowed to skate in for hours at a time. No one was asking either the waiter nor their manager to "teach" anyone "how to parent". We were asking them to simply enforce a simple common sense safety code on behalf of every other patron of the restaurant. Frankly, has a waiter spilled something hot or even warm on that roller skating bored young teen no doubt his parents would have been first in line to hire an attorney to the owners and the waiter for damage to their kid. Rather than bothering to correct the parents or the entitled child Sam informed me I should be the one to "immediately leave". Unbelievable. Sam then turned my table over to "Jacob" (a young (clearly frightened) new server who was willing to do her ugly bidding. Jacob lacked the common sense to do right on any level. Jacob flatly refused to share the name of either owner as well as the name of their General Manager. I suspect there IS NO General Manager for this otherwise sweet little eatery. My guess is that the owners are unfortunately trusting the poor judgement of Brynn in their absence. Jacob then performed as a dancing monkey for the satisfaction of both Sam and Brynn. He finally walked off with my check and never bothered to return. Sadly for the owners --- sooner or later someone will be grievously damaged by the poor judgement of Brynn and Sam. Their poor management skills are potential personal injury lawsuits ready to happen.

We were contemplating dessert; however, I opted for it elsewhere as I did not want to be disappointed by the high prices. Servers were friendly but you could definitely tell that it was forced and not genuine. If in town again I might try this place again but would not make it one of my top spots.

A huge thank you to Sam, who took absolutely amazing care of our group in the Sangiovese Room. From beginning to end, Sam was attentive, welcoming, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. Managing a party of 18 is no small task, and Sam made everything feel effortless. The Sangiovese Room was the perfect setting for such a special celebration, and Sam truly helped make our son's birthday dinner a memorable one for our entire family and group. If I could give more than 5 stars I most definitely would! Thank you, Sam and Gourmet Italia, for the wonderful hospitality and for helping make our son's 24th birthday so special. We will absolutely be back! The food was absolutely delicious!!!!!

I worked in hospitality and fine dining for decades. Hence my 3 star assessment of Gourmet Italia:…read more 1) A pretentious attitude by your wait staff does not make for good fine dining. Frankly, pretentious attitudes lower the experience for everybody. Even for your waiters. 2) It isn't "fine dining" to conceal the prices from your customers and to then surprise them when the check comes. $100 for a not so special dinner for one? Oh lord. 3) I ordered the "special" Caesar Salad. $20 when the check came. My waiter didn't bother to time arrival of the main course so it arrived before I was even half way finished with the "special" salad. Btw---is Romaine lettuce too expensive now to portion properly on a $20 plate? 4) My waiter offered to take away my salad so he could "make room" for the main course. Take it away? It was only half eaten and this was with just a handful of lettuce on the plate. 5) So he instructed the busser to remove my bread. I liked the salad and the small slices of bread much better than the rather odd Chicken Piccata that came out. 6) My waiter suggested I order the side pasta with the same lemon sauce as the Piccata (although it normally comes with Pomodoro Sauce. In theory great suggestion! In reality --- not so good. The pasta sucked up most of the sauce leaving the Chicken oddly dry. I asked for a bit of the marinara sauce it's normally served with (on the side do I could try it out). No problem! They just tucked an extra charge of $2 into my already inflated bill. The higher the better, after all! Who cares about being fair to a customer? 6) I had asked for a glass of ice water at the start to enjoy with the wine. My waiter arrived with a bottle of Pellegrino. No doubt the better to pad my tab. I pointed out his error in a kind way---he whisked away the now opened Pellegrino bottle and then made it a point to confiscate the glass of water he had already mistakenly poured. What do you suppose his plan was with this? To maybe resell the already opened bottle to another customer? Maybe convince them the amount already poured out into another customer's glass never happened? Dear Waiter, If this IS fine dining (or ANY LEVEL of service you simply apologize for the error and invite the customer to enjoy the water you just poured for them. Then send a bottle of the water they intended over as well.
