One of our go-to spots! They have the best burger in the area, and I love the crispy potatoes that come on the side. The gem salad is always fresh and enjoyable. The truffle mushroom toast is excellent and decadent. I usually order the salmon, which is consistently perfect -- crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The pasta with lobster is also very enjoyable.

Another great dinner. This place only gets better every time we come. Such a cozy chic vibe. I ordered the veal chop special. Omg it was the most tender chop I ever had. Wife ordered salmon she said it was the best she ever had great crust outside and super tender inside Waitress was the sweetest.

Ambiance is the down stairs is great. I love Roost but my s/o, who just tried it for the first time said it was meh. We both ordered filet medium and his was more medium well and mine was more medium rare. We didn't say anything bc we're just not those ppl. Plan to go back and try they're brunch.

High lights: 1. The well thought out MCM design 2. The Slab Bacon and Egg Salad 3. The DPNB Fresh Spaghetti Low Lights: 1. My boyfriend spilled milk and they were pissed lol 2. The NY stripe we ordered M/R was v rare and a little on the gamey side. 3. The reservation system is a little old school - form submission but does make you feel special when they call you for the actual reservation time. Overall all- food was good , ambiance was better!

The tables are spaced out so well that you're never on top of other guests, which I really appreciated. On top of that, the playlist was on point, adding to the relaxed but stylish atmosphere. The service was on point the whole night, making the experience even better. We kicked things off with bone marrow for me and grilled Spanish octopus plus the chef's special carrot parsnip soup for my date. Everything was delicious. The bone marrow was rich and buttery, exactly how it should be. For the entrée, I had the chef's special lamb chops, and they were fantastic. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and so tender. My date ordered the grilled hanger steak, which looked just as good. Judging by how quickly it disappeared, I'd say it was a hit. Dessert was a little all over the place in the best way. I had the sticky toffee pudding cake, which I really liked. We also tried the crack pie, but I wasn't a huge fan of that one. Not bad, just not for me. Then there was a mystery dessert. I tried looking it up, but nothing on the menu matched what we had. Whatever it was, it was really good, so I'm guessing it was another chef's special. Solid meal all around. Great food, great service, and definitely a spot I would come back to.

Wisely recognized as America's oldest tavern with its stone facade, the Old '76 House, located on Main Street in Tappan, has been welcoming guests and was restored to its pristine condition by the Norden family. Step inside, and nearly every corner tells a story that served as a meeting place for local patriots during the American Revolutionary War. It also welcomed General George Washington for dining on occasion. He once received plans at the establishment that exposed Benedict Arnold as a traitor--prompting a dramatic reaction still talked about today. Upon entering without a reservation today for lunch, my partner and I were greeted by the host and got a cozy table by the fireplace with original Delft tiles in the Tap Room. The interior features rustic beamed ceilings, four fireplaces, vintage portraits, historical certificates and documents, as well as costumes and artifacts where patrons were able to walk around and marvel at them. The menu reflects the tavern's heritage, with dishes inspired by early American cuisine. We decided on the Thanksgiving Sandwich accompanied with fries and the Traditional American Meatloaf over Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Vegetables. For dessert, we shared Hannah's Apple Crunch with vanilla ice cream. But even more than the great and delicious food was the history, ambiance, and especially the way we were treated. Our server was Joe and checked on us often. The portion was healthy and the price comparable to the area's. If one has even a passing interest in American history, then it's a must to come here. Not just a meal, but an experience!

There is a beautiful raw bar area, lots of seating, and overall just a really good atmosphere for a group lunch or even drinks after work. The staff was on point the entire time. We were a pretty big group and everything still came out smoothly and nobody ever felt forgotten which I appreciated. We started with oysters and they were fresh and really good. Definitely one of the better things we ordered. The fried calamari was okay but not something I would specifically come back for. The Caesar salad was actually really good and I liked that it had anchovies in it because a lot of places skip that now. I ordered the lobster roll and thought it was the perfect lunch portion. Enough food without feeling too heavy after. Other people at the table ordered burgers, steaks, and pizzas and everyone seemed happy with their meals. The pizzas especially went fast. My wife had the fig and prosciutto pizza which had that nice sweet fig taste. The apple beignet was delicious but I would not call it a beignet - more like a... pocket? Portions were sizable. The buttermilk pancakes were tasty as well. They were bananas foster so it was like eating dessert. The service was not as good. We even heard her tell the hostess that she didn't want anyone else to be seated in her section and it wasn't that busy. She never came back to ask us if we wanted more drinks. The manager, Bill, walked the room and made his way around to say hello and check in with tables. He was very welcoming and nice - wish she would take a cue from him.
