I have really enjoyed the atmosphere every time I've been here, whether for a chill daytime/evening or at night, with good drinks and nice bartenders. I went here for NYE and it was way more fun than other spots we had tried, my only issue I've had here was with the bouncer on NYE. It was still early and I arrived in a group, but he didn't let the last person of the group in because she was "falling over."

Long-standing all inclusive bar w/ some seriously great music, bartenders, seating and an incredible patio space with beautiful murals, art, rainbows and tons of spots to hangout. The original Roosterfish is one I'd pop into now and again... Being one of the few if not only lgbtq+ spaces ‍ in the Venice/Abbot Kinney Blvd/Santa Monica adjacent area... It was cash only... Seafoam blueish inside, less spacious and the definition of divey, in a fun way but definitely less busy with time and not as well kept up... Eventually Roosterfish evolved into what it is today with a serious revamp welcoming any and all with it's beautiful chic layout, gender neutral restrooms, persons with disability accessible and pet friendly (patio)! I can't believe how beautifully different the energy feels with the mix of so many people enjoy adult beverages, conversations and great service. Happy Hour is everyday from open until 6PM with $10 well drinks, $7 draft beer, plus some familiar as well as speciality $12 cocktails... Including one of the best margaritas you'll ever enjoy. Regular drinks can run up to $17 per person without a tip... but they're good and strong! Roosterfish has a small but good variety of both beer and wine. Full bar so order to your heart's content. You can start a tab or close out per drink order. Complimentary cold water dispensers/stations at multiple ends of the bar as well as multiple bartenders on duty. QR codes on the backs small gold-like plaques with their logo... Scan to check out the menu. Plenty of space inside or in to enjoy a cockadoodle splashing good time! Parking is street, but it is there w/ no meters (just a 2hr limit until 8pm)... Rideshare maybe easiest as the night goes on... Definitely during a big outing weekend like Halloween. Though if you go early... Like we did you'll find something forsure... if not on Abbot Kinney Blvd... Side streets for sure. Q Tip: Check out their IG for events or their inquiries feature for your own event.

I think this place would be good for a date night as it's dimly lit with small side tables and has some craft cocktails. I ordered the spicy cucumber mule and it was way too spicy :( I would not order again. I'm sure other cocktails are much better but this one was just too hot for me. The bartender was attentive but not the most friendly. I think it was because they wanted to be productive and serve people quick. They had a variety of music playing from hip hop to house to reggae.

I love going to Venice area and find these small bars that become full on dance party during the night. I went there on a Saturday night and we had amazing experience. The bartenders were nice and looked very professional like they know what they are doing and it was fun to watch them. It wasn't expensive at all, it didn't cost anything to enter and the drinks costs were reasonable. The vibe was perfect, we were dancing and having fun. The DJ had some good tracks and we could dance near him and watch. Highly recommended!

Poor service, rude to guests, not polite to patrons of the bar. Came with a big party and no one who attended would recommend it.

The place was jammed packed and the tournament has been a real shot in the arm for the area bars and restaurants. I sat at the bar and ordered the Manhattan Clam Chowder along with a pasta dish with chicken which as fine, but I have had better. The vibe was great because of the soccer and this was the most crowded I have ever seen this place since opening about 5 years ago. Rumors say the place is for sale, and one of the problems is that they constantly are changing the menu. The prices are a little steep, but that is the case everywhere as food prices have exploded and I have noticed couples sharing an entree versus ordering separately. The service is fine but the restaurant by now should have an established and reliable menu. I'll be back and this place caters to an under 30 crowd. RECOMMEND.

This also wasn't the first time. On several recent visits, the same customer sits in the corner working on his laptop while allowing his large black-and-brown dog to wander throughout the restaurant instead of keeping it close by. It made both friends and myself uncomfortable enough that we chose to leave each time. As someone who was attacked by a dog as a child, this is especially difficult for me. I actually have a dog of my own, so this isn't about disliking dogs. I completely understand that this is a very dog-friendly neighborhood, and I have no issue with dogs when they're leashed, supervised, and under their owner's control. I hope the restaurant returns to enforcing those expectations so everyone--including guests who may have fears, allergies, or simply prefer not to have dogs roaming around--can enjoy the space again. I've always liked this place and would love to feel comfortable coming back.

She did go M.I.A for a while but overall when we did speak with her, she was really nice. Food wise. I only really looked at the appetizers to be fair. We ordered barbecue chickens sliders, which were fine. We also ordered regular fries and those were fine as well. There's about a million TVs and each one is bigger than the next. On one hand it's really cool because they have a bunch of different stuff on and so you're bound to find something you'd like. However, it's pretty intense, maybe that's just me. Moving on. At one point in the evening, all the TV sound was turned down and like magic, a DJ appeared. Music then got really loud. We then realized the crowd all of a sudden was a lot younger than myself and my date, (40's). So the TVs are blaring at you and there's a full on dance club being birthed before your eyes. There was a strobe light too. Then as quickly and abruptly as it started, the music stopped and the tv sounds came back on. Not sure that I'd go back. But it was interesting....

The hostess, bus boy, and food runner all did a fine job...but our server did absolutely nothing. After the hostess quickly seated us, we sat there for 20 minutes when my husband finally got up to ask the hostess if our server could come by. Another 10 minutes went by and just as we were about to leave the hostess came to the table to take our order. After our order was taken, a server dropped off drinks to our table after mistakenly delivering them to the table next to us. No hello, no "can I get you anything else"...nothing. I should also say that the busboy did bring us water about 10 minutes after we were seated. During this whole time we watched two servers walk past our table multiple times without one glance over to our table. We were literally sitting in front of the main entrance, so it's not like they didn't know we were there. One woman, who I think was our actual server, was too busy socializing with friends and taking sips out of their drinks to bother with us. It was actually ridiculous how terrible the service was. And unfortunately, the sticky table, dirty chairs, and mediocre food did not make up for the terrible service. This was an extremely disappointing experience after deciding to spend the last Friday of summer break having dinner at the beach. Management, this was on Friday, August 7th at 6:45pm. I highly recommend having a talk with your staff and retraining them on how to provide adequate customer service to your guests.

It's been there for some time, so there's a bit of grime and decay almost everywhere you look. And if it isn't exactly "charming," it's very comfortable and welcoming, with an ocean breeze blowing through the open, upstairs deck, and a friendly staff working hard to keep everyone happy. The upstairs patio area was pretty full when I arrived, but I snagged a seat at the bar and still got to enjoy both the view and the breeze. They have a nice selection of beachy cocktails (the gals next to me were drinking out of fresh-cut coconuts), and a quite a few beers on tap (with plenty of ice cold glasses at the ready). To get things going, I ordered a Don Julio tequila neat, and the pour was generous. I also ordered a Caesar Salad with Blackened Shrimp, which was delivered after only about 5 minutes. Despite the swiftness of the prep, the salad was quite good. Baby Gem lettuce, nicely coated with a creamy-but-not-too-creamy dressing that had a robust, garlicky flavor that was pleasing rather than overpowering. Yes, there were the ubiquitous croutons; but there were also quite a few fried capers, which added an appealing, extra layer to the flavor profile. The Blackened Shrimp that I added were small but plentiful, and very nicely seasoned, providing a solid smack of spice that contrasted well against the dressing. It really was a very good salad. The gals to my right were eating freshly shucked oysters that looked quite good. They must have enjoyed them, because they ordered another dozen. Across from me, a body builder chowed down on a great-looking burger, and everyone at the bar seemed to really be enjoying their food. The servers -- Lily and Arian -- were swift and chatty despite being pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon.
