Great outdoor patio with lots of tables. Fast service. Good happy hour but you have to ask. Great food options.

Gaslight Diner knocked it out the park on all phases. Food + service + wait time + overall impressions. I have passed this place a million times and finally tried it. Encouraged by the positive reviews, it lived up to the expectations. All the food was hot, terrific, and nothing disappointed at all. Friendly laid back kind of place that is spaced out really well. All the customers were relaxed and chill. My food was ready when I got there. As far as parking in front of restaurants may be tricky since traffic can build up at the stop light, but I solved that by parking just a few buildings down from it. It made for a nice walk and easy exit. You betcha I will return and explore more of their menu.

Came in for a quick breakfast on a Saturday. Great seating options, nice staff and quick service. Food was great. Amazing diner atmosphere. Can't wait to try it again.

I love this little place with all my heart. I don't know if anybody knows this, but they have homemade desserts, celebrate all the holidays, and a great lunch menu It was wonderful.

Met a friend for lunch here recently and it started out well. Sat quickly, got drinks quickly, ordered the tater tots appetizer with beer cheese dip and they came out looking good but were still frozen on the inside. I called the server over and he took care of it pretty quickly and they took the appetizer off the bill which was very nice. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with onion rings and my friend ordered the fish sandwich with french fries. Both meals were adequate, but not knocked our socks off. We did have to keep hunting down our server a few times and it was a mildly busy Saturday so the routine should've been flowing a little better. I didn't hate this place but I think I expected more from it and I'm not sure I'll be back.

I'm learning I enjoy lunch options here more so than the breakfast. Gaslight Diner wowed us today with their BLT, bologna sandwich, chicken sandwich, rueben sandwich and biscuits and gravy. The fries are good but don't blink on the upgrade to a side salad or onion rings. If you're looking for summer cocktails they have you covered too. Our server was friendly and attentive. We waited a bit for our order but I believe we walked in when the crowd was larger. Their new patio tables were full! We sat inside and there's plenty of seating there as well, including bar seating. The space is a casual diner, just as it's named. Parking is available on the street and typically not as an issue to find.

We've wanted to try Gaslight Diner for so long as J-Town residents but haven't had the timing work out for us until recently. We decided to give it a try for a brunch date! The dining room area is very cool and looks almost like an old retail store. (It may have been at one point.) Very spacious and open. It is a bit dark in spots though. Our server got with us quickly and she was very friendly. We got our soft drinks quickly while we were able to look at the menu. We decided on two breakfast bowls that sounded good and we also ordered a pancake and a homemade biscuit to taste them. Presentation of the food was very nice. The pancake was not super flavorful but the syrup saved it. The biscuit was absolutely great and our bowls were good. I did have to add salt to my Country Bowl as the Gravy didn't really give me that kick of flavor that I'd expect. My wife had the Farmhouse bowl and she really enjoyed it. I may do that one next time. Overall good experience and we'll be back for sure to try the lunch items!

Went for our Sunday after church brunch date. Food was very good. I chose a breakfast bowl, hubby had an omelet. Coffee was smooth & hot! Service was wonderful. Christy our server was so kind and helpful. We told her this was our 1st time visiting. She made a delicious ample sized mimosa, will try the pineapple version she recommended next time, maybe cranberry the next! Ambiance was family happy & still decorated for Christmas, as was the downtown J-town store front. So cute. Yes there are TV's, but not needed at that time of the day. At least the sound was off or turned down. We will be back another Sunday morning!

Made conversation with customers and didn't seem rushed/stressed. There are two rooms with tables but people kept coming in and out. It got busy ish but not slammed. Some were in groups and some came alone. Also saw a few folks do take out orders. Honestly, I would love to come back! The breakfast looked good. Parking lot was a little strange. I don't expect an entire separate box of fries, but more than 10 would be nice- especially for $4! They were sure to tack on a $1 service charge as well, even though I was picking the food up. Burger Girl used to be a Louisville classic, but lately that's come to mean less "don't skip this if your life depends on it" and more "renowned for their awful food." As time goes on, I am honestly becoming more and more disappointed with Burger Girl. The point of a greasy spoon is to be cheap, quick, and filling, and Burger Girl misses on all of those fronts. For their prices I could go to a nicer restaurant with better food and a better experience. Honestly, as inflation continues to soar and quality continues to plummet, I find myself asking why I even bother going out, when I know I'll just be disappointed in the end. This might be the last straw for me, at least when it comes to Burger Girl. It just doesn't feel worth it anymore.

We were greeted by a friendly and efficient server. I ordered the double quarter pounder. I got mine sans lettuce and pickle. The default cheese on the burger was American but I was able to get mine with Provolone. You can also get Pepper Jack or Swiss. My burger was excellent, made with quality meat. The seasoned fries were very good with a definite note of garlic. The size of the fries order is plenty petite though. Shake flavors are limited to chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. I ordered a chocolate shake and it was pleasantly thick and tasty. We also got some oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies to take home. They were of the most and chewy varietal (I prefer crispy) but were still good. Burger Boy has a digital station that allows you to select music to be played in the restaurant. I do need to point out that the price for a single patty burger was well over $10 so prices are high. But sure, if I was in the neighborhood and was craving a burger, I'd come back.

It was not the best food in the world but the food here tastes like home to me. Just really well seasoned and old school. Now here's my issue. This establishment had me wait almost 90 minutes on a 92 degree day (WITH MY FIVE YEAR OLD) for two meals. They had already taken my money, otherwise I would have booked it. Here's what I ate: 1. Fried Pork Chop with mashed potaotes (they were out of potato salad) and greens, gravy on the side 2. Ribs with macaroni and cheese and Pinto Beans I also got a blackberry cobbler. I checked in after 30 minutes and they weren't sympathetic. I looked at these reviews later and saw that someone said the customer service at this establishment was hilarious and they were not kidding. Here's how everything tasted: Pork Chop: very flavorful, glad I got fried and not smothered for texture reasons Mashed potatoes: good and real, but nothing to write home about Ribs: They were okay. tender. tasted like they were boiled and that's not my preference...they were also swimming in sauce. I feel like ribs should be able to stand up without the sauce and I was not sure this could happen here. The bbq sauce is part of the dish for them. Greens: overly salted, underseasoned...they needed to be eaten by the pinto beans Pinto beans: absolutely no salt--would not order again Macaroni and cheese: this is the creamy kind, not the baked kind (not my preference. Gravy: excellent Blackberry Cobbler: FIVE STARS. Delicious, buttery, so tasty. I went home and tried to make one. Seriously: no notes here. It is a must try. Charging 2 dollars for a cup of kool-aid is insane. with this kind of customer services, it would be nice if they threw that sugar water in for free. I skipped it, but just thought I would mention if you plan on trying to have some for nostalgic reasons. I haven't had any in about 30 years and I was planning on it but not when I saw the price tag. I live in Illinois, but if I ever do visit again I will call my order in, go sight seeing and then pick up my food. Don't bring your kids to this establishment unless they have confirmed your order is ready!

First off - I love this local gem, and I think it was just an odd/off night. It started with a scary trip to the ladies room, and it was just a mess. The first part of our evening (meeting friends) was great. Cocktails were tasty and the music was vibing. Fried pickles were AWESOME. At one point, the bartender changed the record and it became crazy loud - we literally couldn't hear the person 2 feet away speaking. A member of our party got up and asked the bartender if he could turn it down (asked politely), and was ignored. Literally ignored - bartender looked at my friend and the just walked away (and not to turn down the music). Next cocktail was AWFUL... food came out, and it was hot but nothing great; fries were oily. Churros were tough and overcooked as well. Our server (a younger woman) was attentive and friendly, and that was the highlight of our visit. She did turn down the music when we asked (and after another table I believe also asked). It wasn't a busy night, and I love the vinyl vibe and cool venue - we will come back and try again, but when 3 cocktails, an appetizer, and entree cost close to $100 before tip (for 2 - our friends were the same, so $200 for a table), you really need to be on point and provide solid service.
