Thanks Root Autoworks for the new 37 k02 tires, mount/balance, and the alignment for my 21 Ford F150 Raptor.

I asked the owner, Jin, if he knew how to do a Prius catalytic converter shield install, and he said he's never done it but is willing to give it a shot. An appointment was made (thanks for being flexible! I had to reschedule), and then after about half an hour I was back on the road with a Prius whose catalytic converter will (hopefully) not get stolen! He performed the work quicker than we both thought but did it with quality and thoroughness. He gave me a very fair price for the install and I am very happy with it all. I'll be back for anything that I need on my cars.

Jin and company is absolutely great and friendly and HONEST! and fantastic service! Jin knows what his talking about and very very HONEST and helpful what you need and needs to be done! We'll recommend shop for all vehicles and 4x4 vehicles too! If you need alignment for your 4x4 this is the shop to go to! Not overpriced like other 4x4 shop!

First off let me mention that my BF is an extremely picky person when it comes to his car. Our friend that referred us to this shop, is just as difficult. We usually will make it a point to drive this car down to San Diego to let a specific specialized mechanic (who is also our friend) work on it. Again, trust issues mixed with extreme pickiness. But we're older now and time is of the essence, so we don't want to make that 10+ hr trip anymore. Jin was a referral from our friend and though this shop is pretty new, it doesn't mean the person working on it is new to the game. We initially brought it in to get it diagnosed for possible electrical drainage. We were finding ourselves dependent on a portable jumper (even though we bought a new battery) and had to leave the car almost plugged in at all times. We've done everything we possibly could and picked everyone's brain that we knew. Luckily it wasn't too long and Jin solved the issue. While working on the car, Jin noticed that the driver window wasn't closing all the way correctly and it left a small gap. We didn't mind leaving the car with Jin so he can take his time handling the issue when he was available, since it wasn't a quick fix. I highly recommend Jin. He is meticulous and he takes his time but does everything in a reasonable and timely manner.

I bring all my cars here for regular maintenance like oil changes, brake fluids, differential fluid and coolant fluids maintenance, brake pad and rotor replacements. They've also handled bigger repairs such as an axle seal leak, valve cover gasket leak, and fixing warped rotors. Everything has always been done right the first time. What really sets this place apart is that Anthony does most of the work himself, and after the job is done, you hear directly from him about what was done and why. He's very polite and easy to talk to, and you never feel like you're being ripped off. The quality is as good as--or better than--the dealership, using original Toyota parts, but without dealership prices. No middleman, no customer service rep--just straight answers from the person actually working on your car. He also documents major repairs with before-and-after photos and will even check in a day or two later to make sure everything's driving well. Most importantly, they're honest, reliable, and trustworthy. I've never had an issue in the 10+ years I've been coming here. If you're looking for a shop you can actually trust, I highly recommend TLS Auto Service.

I had issues with my CRV and it started making a weird noise that was coming from the wheel well. I took it to two different mechanics. One said it was the brakes. So I paid to have it changed but the noise was still there. The next mechanic said it was an alignment issue so...I paid to have THAT done and the noise was still there. Finally, I heard from a close friend that he knew a guy that could fix it. Took it to Winston and he diagnosed it to be a wheel barring issue. If I didn't get it fixed soon, then it would have caused more damage. Winston fixed it for a good price and the noise went away. Now, I take all my cars and he gets it fixed and at a fair price.

I don't write reviews often but Chet's deserves one here…read more I took my 2007 Honda CRV to Chet's (Vu), as I was having steering issues and some noises after recent repair from two different mechanics. Vu took it immediately for a test drive with me in the passenger seat. He could feel the same issue I did. He then put it on the lift and inspected it thoroughly. He wasn't sure of the issue exactly but was transparent in the discussion and thinking. Given the car had been worked on recently by others, I can understand why he would be hesitant to take it on. He noted that "my reputation is more important than one car" or similar, which I understand and respect too, as he said he has been in business for 20 years. He considered his best recommended repair with available information but wasn't pushing it, as it's a pricey repair. Looking to get a second opinion, he then had a different co-worker take another look. The co-worker slid under the car and was able to identify an issue, which was a loose bolt from the prior mechanic. The team right then lifted the car and tightened all the bolts, then took it on a second test drive, and the sounds went away and the steering issue seemed improved. Vu spent about an hour on this work combined with another 15-20 minutes from two or three other people too. After all that, he told me not to pay anything, though I offered! He could have pushed the more expensive repair and I would have very likely gone ahead with it, but he didn't. I need to test drive it further to see how it ddrives, but Vu said if still having issues to come back then to discuss where we go from there. For now, the sounds at least have gone away which is promising! Thank you!!!
