Overall, I had a good experience with this company. I reached out on a Saturday morning because I had a clogged tub, and they were able to send someone right away. Unfortunately, the problem was bigger than anticipated and they gave me an estimate, and then came back the next day to do the word. What was only going to take a few hours took literally the entire day because, again, there was a bigger problem. The guys were helpful, and we ultimately got the problem fixed, but the tiles they placed back broke a couple of times and someone had to return to finish the job and lay the cement properly and I wish they had patched the wall better. I would use the company again, but just be more direct about if they are leaving to get a part, what time will they be back, things like that. I probably didn't ask enough questions. I am thoroughly grateful for the professional, efficient, and fair hard day's work (on a hot day no less) the guys at 1-800-PLUMBING did for our house yesterday. We had a pipe burst on the main water line connecting to our house overnight and we had water wasting away like a babbling brook in this drought! Lynn took my call professionally and empathetically, making sure a technician can come out within the hour. Sure enough, Chris called me within 20 min and he was at my house within the hour. In January, along with rain and foul weather came foul water from a clogged toilet line in the 2nd story master bedroom of my south Orange County home. The overflow of water made possible by a clog, 5-feet from the toilet, and found only by a camera sent down the poop-shoot. Well, after all the damaged drywall, cabinetry and flooring was removed, the decision was made to remove the problematic pipe which had caused similar problems almost one year earlier. Quotes were obtained from several, well documented companies throughout the Orange County area, including the company which responded to unclog the initial fouling of the pipe. Bids ranged from $1,150-$2,800 dollars to replace the old cast-iron pipe. The last bid obtained came from 1-800-Plumbing (Orange County-they also have an LA Office). Chris arrived on Friday morning and provided me an estimate of $1,000 to remove the old cast-iron pipe and replace it with ABS, including a pipe clean-out "T" allowing me access both the upper and lower portions of the pipe. Saturday morning Chris arrived and completed the job leaving nothing but a clean garage worksite and new ABS where the pipe removal had left nothing less than quite a mess. Best thing here is, Saturday is not an overtime day, so you don't have to worry about paying extra for a weekend call-out service. That, in itself, is a huge benefit since you do not need to worry about your 2-3+ hour job costing you twice as much in labor costs. Called three other plumbers before I called these guys and they were willing to come out which is awesome! Had a total pipe leakage and it was flooding the place. Two plumbers weren't available and one didn't fix pipes. I was so glad this company fixed pipes and was available! The person who answered the phone was very nice and they kept me updated on when they were coming and who was coming. Joseph was the guy who came and he was quite nice. He made a bunch of holes in the ceiling to check out the pipes which we now have to figure out how to repair. He did offer a couple options from his side on repairing it but they were really expensive. Anyway, Joseph was really nice and although I think his fee was a little on the pricey side, it's sometimes worth it to have a guy who is willing to fix things and get it done right away and have a good attitude. It was very professional of him to bring in a bunch of covers when he was inspecting and then to clean up after he was done doing the work. He seemed quite knowledgeable. We had a problem that seemed unrelated to plumbing but was causing leaking and he honestly told us the problem he thinks it is and didn't try and push some unnecessary services to fix or try to fix a non-existent problem. Called to request a quote for a leak inspection at a property we manage yesterday and I was initially told that the inspection could cost approximately $200. I told the person who answered the phone that we are not on site and we just need a quote. She told me that someone would go out to the property and take a look then they would call me back with pricing for the inspection. I never got a call and I decided to follow up. The man that answered (said he was the vice president) told me that no one would charge that much and that he has no clue where that number came from. So it's the day before Thanksgiving and our plumbing goes out. We call these guys hoping by any chance they can come and they said no problem we can have someone but it won't be until some time between 3 and 6pm. Thank goodness we will take it. Wow! I came home to my front room ceiling bulging. There was a big bubble in the middle of the room. I am single so I went to bed knowing I was going to contact someone in the morning. Bad IDEA, I had nightmares the walls and ceiling were caving in on me as the bubble grew. When I woke up in the morning the bubble was twice its size of one foot by 1/2 foot. Right next to the sprinkler system on my ceiling. I just knew that if the puppy popped my front room would be a flood. Lee to the rescue. I called RPM plumbing and Lee the plumber was amazing. He evaluated the problem and got a bucket, holding it to the bubble. Oh my gosh, there was over a gallon of water in the bubble. He then had to find out where the leak came from. It was not the sprinkler system. It was a pipe that was 6 feet away from the bubble. He not only fixed the problem but he made sure nothing was damaged. He cleaned up completely after the repair and even offered to vacuum because there were little flakes on the carpet. I did not have him vacuum, he was so professional, kind and friendly. We all try to be do it ourself types. And for the most part I am. But one night I got in a bind and couldn't get my main water line valve to act right. The damn gate valve broke and left the family without running water right before super bowl. So I had a few options - 1 say forget it and be without water for the next two days or 2- call someone and get it fixed before game day. Because the wife couldn't find the joy of using a bucket I made a call. Of course it was 5pm on Saturday but I was able to reach RPM plumbing. Okay, these guys are awesome. Most especially for Felix and Joe. Who took on a job on a Sunday to make our lives less miserable by fixing our jetbut and it as fast and efficient as they could. So first off, thanks Felix hugely for taking us up on this job. These guys tackled on an almost impossible job on a what it seems like more than a day job. Hard to get pipelines and to top it off, no access panel to get into our broken faucet on our tub. But they did it! Great efficiency and quality work. These guys were pros! Got it done from 9am-2pm. I really thought they'd have to come back another day to finish the work but they refused to. Because they knew we needed it done by today. I called these guys in desperate need of a plumber for a tenant of mine that needed there tankless water heater fixed cause they had no hot water and their toilet would not fill up fast enough when flushed, it took 30 mins for bowl to fill up. So the plumber comes out takes a look at everything and tells me automatically that we need a new water heater( which I understand because we ended up getting a new one for them) He told me how much it would be but he couldn't work on it that day because of the manufacturer situation plus it was a Saturday and the time was 2:00pm so he didn't have the resources, then he say the toilet needs a new float and it would be $189 to do that....I was like.. No!!! Lol That was a little steep to replace a float in a toilet, the guy was nice but this plumbing company is not for me. My tenant is pretty handy and he changed out the float himself and it cost $11 for the part and it was a simple job. $189??!! Yeah right!! Lol I will not be calling this company again. read more
