So many issues. I am not a plumber, and I live in San Diego, so I needed a company that can figure out the job without my help. That was not the case. First when I called and told them my house drains were backing up. Notice I said house. I gave them the address of my house and the house code to get in the front door. They told me they would call me when they got underway so I could have someone there to meet them. They did not call until they were at a ski resort building trying to use my front door code. Then I figured out they were not at my house and gave them instructions on how to drive 200 yards up the road to my driveway. They then called me to tell me that it was just the washing machine drain that was stopped up. I had to argue that there was poop coming out of that drain. Finally they did clear a main line. But at a ridiculous charge they would not guarantee the work unless I paid a lot more to have a camera of the line. I have never paid so much to have a simple line cleaning and this is the first that the company does not guarantee their work. No, I'll never use them again. read more

They offer free estimate, that are not free, Ryan was going to go under my house without even discussing the cost, which would have been 380$ and that was just to locate the intake for the tank, even thought I had blue prints that show exactly where it is. He was coming to my house to dig up my yard without discussing any price. When I called the office looking for Ryan and a very RUDE man answered had no idea who I was and proceeded to hang up on me, when I called back very annoyed by the way I was being treated, he said it was an accident, no accident, you said **** and hang up. Worst customer service, they answer there phone in the work area, it is so loud and on speaker phone. I really don't know how they are still in business. When I first contacted this company was 3 years ago, and a very nice older gentleman helped me, he was delightful, I do not know who took over, but I think he would be disappointed. read more

Had a leek under my house and called rooter man. Was given a time of two hours before they could get to me. Four hours later I had to call them back at which time I was told they were running late. When they arrived I told them I believed it was a PVC feeder line however with sever back issues along with age I was not being able to access the leek. After accessing the area through a large access door inside my house, tech was able to see leek without going any further. Confirmed that it was a leek in PVC line. Tech then left for Home Depot for a few fittings and a small piece of pipe and glue. He then returned went back under house to leek which was about seven feet away and took about 15 min. To make repair. Bill was 345.00 with no breakdown on bill. From past experience, I would have to guess that parts were around 20.00 to 25.00 dollars. My entire sewer line from my house to the city sewer was backed-up and needed to be fixed ASAP. When I called Rooter-Man, they picked up immediately and the man on the phone was very friendly. They said it would take about an hour and a half to get somebody out to my house, but they got there in just a half hour. Ryan showed up and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made me aware that the whole sewer line was breaking down due to roots growing into it and age, and that it would need to be fixed very soon to prevent a much bigger problem (which I suspected given the age of the house and past issues). He recommended that they fill the line with a liner, which would prevent roots from coming back and effectively restore the line as best it could be without total replacement. After talking with them for a while, they gave me a great deal under the circumstances I was facing. Ryan even checked out a leaking shower faucet and helped me with that as well. They are coming back next week to complete the larger project and I will update this review after it is complete. For now, however, my experience with them has been great! **Update** They came back this week to finish the project and did an excellent job. Would totally recommend this company. read more

Call them and was told they can come to us 3 days from now and price will be $129 and not their advertise price of $49. called another company and they will be hear in 2 hours. Our toliet plugged Sunday morning. I couldn't get it to clear. Called Rooter-man and Ryan came out within 1 1/2 hrs. Assessed the situation quickly and began checking from the cleanout to the street. He used a camera to determine the problem(s). Roots had begun to clog the lines in three places. He returned the next day with a special machine used to clear the roots. In times like the flood of 2017 (Reno, Nevada) we need honest people and this is not one. My mother had them come out to check under her home to see if there was any water there. After about 20 minutes they came up and said nope all is good. The charge was $259.00. Be aware to always get an estimate before the work is performed, then there are no surprises and you really find out the bad from the good. read more

A plumber from the so Lake Tahoe shop was contacted by my tenant. The plumber replaced a fillmaster on a toilet for which he charged $238 and a supply line for $152. Then he added another $25 just for fun. Total billing was $415 for material cost of less than $30 and labor of probably half an hour. I contacted the office and asked to please have a manager (Dino or Robert) to review the billing. No call back. read more

This plumbing company charged us over$300. 00 to repair a hot water Handel on our tub. Could not tell us how much the replacement part cost. I was told the owner would not be talking to me as requested. I would never ever do business with this company. Only ones who don't charge by the hour and just add as they go! Wonderful service! We had no hot water and they arrived in less than an hour, fixed the issue and saved the day - more like saved the week! I wish I had known about this company 20 years ago when we bought the house. Another company might have tried to tell us the issue was irreparable and that we needed a new water heater but not this company. They were professional and HONEST! Daniel from Rooter man rescued us! Our sewage pump failed and our entire home was out of commission. After call several plumbers, I was referred to Rooter Man. They returned my call immediately and were onsite first thing the next morning. They pumped the tank and replaced the sump pump, tested and cleaned up nicely. Daniel Dave me advice on what to do maintenance wise and how to update the worn parts on the tank. Very polite and professional. Rooter Man will be the first outfit I call every time. If I could give them zero stars I would. I would not inflict this company onto my worst enemy. My landlord hired them to fix a clogged sewer, they came out (late) on Saturday and couldn't fix it, they said they would be here at 10:15 on Sunday and would need to speak to the landlord directly to approve additional work (which in fairness to them, we knew that additional work would have to be done, this is a semi recurring problem, and had been told before that if it happened again more than just snaking it would probably be required). The landlord showed up at 10:00, we had a lovely chat, and waited, and waited, until finally at 12:30 the tech showed up. The landlord had told them up front, she could not be here after 12:30, she waited 5 minutes to talk to him anyway, making herself late for an appointment, while he shushed her and told her to go away because he was on the phone. She left and about 10 minutes later he got aggressive with me asking why the landlord would leave when he was already there. Because dumbass, being in the driveway doesn't do any good if you refuse to talk to her, and being over 2 hours late doesn't help. Don't worry they said, we'll be there at exactly 8 on Monday, guess what, 8:30 on Monday and no sign of them, so the landlord is once again having to completely upend her schedule because these people don't know the definition of the word reliable. My landlord is doing everything she can, I entirely blame Rooter-Man and their lazy don't give a damn techs for me now having to drive to the nearest store to use the bathroom. Seriously, save yourself the hassle and use someone else, and since their techs don't want to work anyway, you'll be doing them a favor too. Edit to update- so Rooter-Man ended up flaking out all together. The plumber that the landlord called to replace them was able to find the clog that Rooter-Man claimed didn't exist, confirmed that their story that our pipes just don't have the right slant is bullshit, and will be fixing it in about half the time and half the cost. When I find out from my landlord who she got as a replacement to Rooter-Man, I'll post another update on who you should go to instead. read more

Do not call this place for anything!! The owner Ralph is by far the most rude and condescending man you will ever speak with. They charge double to triple what the job should be according to several other plumbers. Ralph is abusive and untrustworthy to the elderly and seems to take advantage of anyone he can. Again ,if you want to be ripped off and talked to like it was your fault afterwards for not knowing they were ripping you off then this is your place. RooterMan does NOT Warranty their work. Had local (to Lake Tahoe) Rooterman out to clear sewer line for a six unit condo building on 1/23/18. Charged $475 and we were told the blockage was cleared. Backup occurred again yesterday (2/7/18) so we called them back and they snaked line again. NO WARRANTY on previous call and they charged us another $475!! This time (same plumber on both calls) said line is coated with grease which requires bigger machine to clean drain. Only way to use that bigger machine is to extend cleanout 15' to crawlspace opening for easy access. That will cost $1500 before degreasing can be done. Plumber used camera both times. When I asked why he didn't see grease problem the first time, he said he didn't have a good camera the first time. ?!!??? DO NOT CALL ROOTERMAN. They do not warranty their work and do not honor a good business model of honesty and integrity. read more

Daniel went over and beyond in entering the access point under my house. The work is under warranty for 30 days. This company gets 5 stars from me and I'll use them again if needed in the future. B Collins Sparks Nv 89436 Bought this house in July 2015 A RooterMan was contracted and paid $365.00 to pump clean and inspect the septic system by the former owner at our request to close. On 6-16-16 We had to call another company out for an emergency to pump out the septic tank . The backup into the house was devastating ,all drains sinks and toilets backed up onto the floors,rugs and hall . The company called for the emergency confirmed that the septic tank had not been pumped for a few years and was completely full, Also access to the tank had to be hand dugout to reach the lid ,Also proving the original company ;A RooterMan, had not done the work but had received payment. I have contacted A RooterMan by mail and by phone and haven't been contacted to resolve this problem. read more

My sister in law had a problem with her dishwasher and called to had someone fix it. The service man charged her over $80 and all he did was TURN OFF THE WATER TO THE ENTIRE HOUSE! And left. SHE IS DISABLED AND CONFINED TO A WHEELCHAIR. HE LEFT HER WITH NO WATER AT ALL IN HER HOUSE!! He told her it would cost almost $400 if he had to go under the house at night to fix it. The shut off valve is BEHIND the dishwasher. AND the serviceman smelled of alcohol. After I called too see why he had left a disabled woman without water he called my sister in law and screamed at her about being "ungrateful" and that he had interrupted his dinner. He preceded to call her names and became belligerent to the point that she is had to call me to come stay with her. DO NOT let these rip offs in your house. Could not connect with my normal plumber in a emergency drain blockage situation, so I just picked what came up on a web search under "drain clearing" and chose these guys. They showed up quickly, but the base fee is $180 IF it is easy to get to a clean out. Fee doubles if any extra effort is involved like moving a toilet or going on the roof or going in a crawl space. This much is explained prior to any work being done. What is not provided until after the service is that paying with credit cards incur another fee added on, or if you use a check to pay, you will be asked to give a driver's license number. All in all, they do the job, just not the happiest of experiences.... I miss the days of when a man's word meant something and everyone was not a criminal until proved otherwise. read more
