I contacted Roto ranger on Thursday afternoon, it was 6 o'clock when I got a response from the technician said he was out of emergency so I called and rescheduled for the following morning at 7:30. At 8:45. I finally called again and asked where the tech was. When the tech finally showed up, he ran the water in my shower where the drain was clogged then ran my wife bath because it was a back to back and then flush the toilet and with this information told me that it was the main and then he would be back at 12 o'clock with a camera and a supervisor . 3 o'clock came no one showed 6 o'clock came no one showed and I finally called and said screw this I don't need your service and I'm not paying for the trip that you made. read more

With appointments for between 10-3 for two consecutive days they never showed up! I was told they'd contact me when 30 minutes out. the first day the text came at 7:30 at night saying they'd be here in 45 mins. In 40 minutes I got a call cancelling the service but that they'd come the next day. They never did. I then got a text saying my appointment was cancelled because I didn't contact them. Their dispatch/service is extremely poor. I finally gave up and cancelled the request. i was so disappointed because others have given them such good ratings. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the people with this company. Last time, it was my old house. This time, it's at a new place. Over the course of a few months I have had a few plumbing issues here and the folks at Rooter Ranger ( Mikey, Travis and others ) have been exceptionally easy to work with. Every time I call, I'm fortunate enough to get same day service and the issue resolved the same day. They do more than just sewer stuff. Don't hesitate, call them now. For those interested in details, please read on. Over a period of a month, I'd notice this weird smell coming from the master bedroom and I couldn't quite pinpoint it. At first, I thought it was my dog ( poor guy ). Then, not long after, my dog moved to a farm upstate. Yep. He gone. Anyways, after he left us, the smell returned and I still couldn't quite figure it out. After much frustration, I called the Rangers and Mikey stopped in. He took a look and gave me his thoughts on it. I told him I'd consider the options he presented and get back to them. In a nutshell, he suggested that we could replace the wax ring on the toilet or smoke the place and see where we end up. I called back a few days later and opted for the wax ring ( it was much less expensive ) and when he began the toilet removal, he discovered that the old wax ring hadn't even been mashed down. Apparently, when the wind whips up from our summer storms, it can hit that roof pipe just right and force that stanky sewer air back towards the inside of the house. If the toilet had been sealed properly, I would never have even known that was a thing. Anyway, he was in and out in less than an hour and crisis averted ! Our main line backed up into our kitchen sink at 5:15am (ughhh the smell!!), contacted Rooter Ranger Plumbing at around 6:30am, they got back to me within a short timeframe and set-up for a technician to come out, Gabe, who arrived around 10am. Upon inspecting the issue and clearing the sink he brought in Mike to run a camera and see exactly what was preventing the snake from moving forward. 35+ years of gunk and never cleaned before mains that run out about 120 feet from the house to the city line, is what was causing the problem. They let us know our options, we went with the hydro jet option, expensive but Alfredo did a wonderful job in clearing the lines, by 9pm the problem was solved for good. Mike came back out to video the lines, a world of difference in the two videos letting us know we got our money's worth when all the lines were cleared, except for a portion running from the end of our line to the city line where there was a lip. Alfredo came back out the next day and cleared that part out also. Definitely will be using these guys again, thanks so much! read more

Only did one star because I don't know how to do negative stars.. They will take advantage of you and try to scam you by creating problems that do not exist. do not waste your time or money on this company. we contacted them to clear a clogged kitchen drain, after mgr came out, they insisted it was a major issue with mud & roots in our pipes and would cost $2500-2800 to jet the pipes. then stated it would cost $10k-15k when they start "jackhammering into the bathroom floors". We only hired them because they offered a special to clear the drain for less than $50.. it ended up costing $270 by the time they left, and I still had a clogged drain. we called our normal plumber at Deer Valley Plumbing and they confirmed NO mud or roots in our pipes, it was simple grease clogged in the peatrap. but they stated, even if it was bad & needed a jet, it would only cost $800. definitely would not need any jackhammering into floors. the tech ANDRE and his manager totally took advantage of a woman home alone, offered several hugs, complimented all our hobbies, and played on my stressed emotions. they didn't even bother checking the peatrap or anything under the sink. they immediately went to mud & roots and even claimed to see them on the camera scope. LIARS and SCAMMERS!! I posted this review on their Facebook and they blocked my account within an hour. They are hiding bad reviews!! Do not use this shady company!!!!! read more

Inconsistent, no shows, keeps raising prices. I had them replace a water heater a year and a half ago and the new one already went out so I called them back hoping it was still under warranty since those are usually 5 year warranties. They told me it was not sadly. I don't believe them but I have a tenant in and it's Christmas so I agreed to the outrageous quote in hopes that it would get handled quickly. The tenant could not get them to come out and do the replacement for almost 2 weeks. Rooter Ranger no showed them. When they finally came back out, they tried telling me it would be $2800 instead of the $1700 I already agreed upon. They gave me some explanation that didn't make any sense so I told them I would go with a different company. They told me that the plumber who came out and gave me the original quote no longer works there and made a mistake and they couldn't honor his quote. I will be going with a different vendor. I just feel bad for my tenant who has now gone 2 weeks without hot water for Christmas. read more

This job was way over priced in my opinion, nearly $8K to repair the sewer line just before Christmas. They told us it would be a very deep dig, and would need to be done by a special machine, a master plumber, and that they would be finished in 3-4 days. The price seemed high but worth it to get'er done before Christmas, and done right. They put 2 laborers there to 'start' digging but never got the machine. For 3 very long days one or two guys dug with shovels, using flood lights after dark. They had to use their own tools, and were not trained well for safety, but these laborers had a great attitude and worked hard. My husband had to stop them and call the supervisor to complain that the hole needed to be shored up or it might cave in on them. The supervisor dropped off wood and left. They did their best but needed more guidance. The laborers were great, never complained, and seemed happy to have my husband watching out for them. It has been over a year and we have had no problems, so it did get done right, which is why they earned 3 stars. Even if they paid the laborers $25 an hour for 100 man-hours of digging/filling in that's $2500. The 'master plumber' that sold us this job was in that hole for 2 hours max, let's give him $500/hour. No expensive machine. For overhead, insurance, $1500. That's $5000. We just felt ripped off once we saw that most of the job was digging by untrained labor and very little supervision! read more

We had a water main break in our front yard. Isaac came out within an hour and found the break. He worked well past sundown to get us hooked up with temporary water. They came back the next day and replaced our whole line. They did a great job and cleaned up well after themselves. I will be calling them next time I need plumbing done! read more

Service was great but pricing is ridiculously exorbitant. $4.5K for a one day job for one employee to replace a 2-foot section of pipe under our driveway (not an emergency, done during regular business hours). Took the guy 8 hours to jackhammer the concrete, dig down, replace the pipe, rebar around it and put dirt back in the hole - all in 8 hrs. They also told us initially it would be more effective and only slightly more money to just replace the whole 8 x 8 slab of concrete rather than cutting a 4 x 4 hole and patching. Thankfully we checked with our handyman about filling the hole ($300) versus using their concrete people ($3250!). We only used this company because they made it seem like it was going to be a much bigger job that would be too big for our regular plumber (who is not cheap, is a licensed contractor and does beautiful work) who told us he would have charged us half what this company charged. read more

As we brought up a list of highly rated companies, we noticed that Rooter Ranger clearly stated that most minor situations can cost $47. We took a chance. Thank God we did! We called them nearing 5 PM. Nikko arrived at 7 PM after phoning he'd be here in 30 minutes. He was. Then he took the time to snake the sink not once, not twice, but three times. He said, "The third time was the charm." After taking that much time and being so personable, the charge was $47. We were thrilled! Nikko fixed the problem and the company really only charged us what the internet site had stated. We now have our new plumbing company. And when we call again, and we will, we will ask for Nikko. Choosing to call Rooter Ranger was the worst mistake I made since becoming a homeowner. They charged me over $40k to replace my plumbing system in a relatively small home which is over double what it should cost. Clearly I am an idiot for not doing more research, and I'll take the blame for that, but that was just the beginning of the worst experience I've had with a business. They promised that insurance would cover the cost, because I had great insurance according to them, and they would do all the work dealing with them. The insurance company only covered $9k and they didn't assist with the process at all. Additionally, the project took much, much longer than quoted. You would think with all the money I was giving them that more than one person would be working but for the most part it was one individual doing the work. Sometimes he was at my home until 9pm which was uncomfortable given that I am a single female. Oh and then he started contacting me after the job and leaving notes at my home. Please get numerous quotes before choosing a company. You will absolutely find better than Rooter Ranger. read more

Our water heater went out and we were looking into going tankless instead of using our home warranty to repair/replace the standard tank heater that failed us, so we asked Rooter Ranger to come out for a quote. We agreed on a time and, unfortunately, we weren't able to be there when they arrived, but they were very understanding and looked at our project while we weren't there and quickly provided a quote. Though we ultimately decided to stay with the home-warranty repair due to costs, Rooter Ranger was very professional and seemed very thorough and knowledgeable, so we will definitely contact them for any future plumbing needs. read more
