This is an old-fashioned diner with good service and good food. The diner was busy every time I visited. This is a good diner with affordable prices. I liked their cranberry pancakes. The pancakes were fluffy with the sour cranberries elevating the flavor of the pancakes. The home fried were also well seasoned. I appreciate the watermelon wedge that comes with every meal, which gives it a whimsical touch. All in all, I recommend giving this place a visit.

We loved our breakfast!! They did a great job cooking everything... The service was prompt and helpful. The ambiance was that of a typical breakfast restaurant. It was clean and well lit. It was a great place to have breakfast...They did a great job on the hollandaise sauce and with correctly poaching the eggs on my eggs Benedict....

I ordered carry out for breakfast and it was very good. We had cranberry pancakes which were so flavorful tangy and sweet! We had a side of potatoes and they made them The right way!!! We also had eggs with corn-beef hash and it too was delicious. The staff was efficient and polite. The decor has never changed since day one which makes it fun and historic.

    Fresh hot coffee.

Inhaled that! It was yummy. Hash & eggs with a side sausage. Plenty of choices though. Menu was two full pages worth of breakfast foods. All the staples and then some. Nice waitress who probably has been here for years. It was a Friday morning and there were 4-5 tables seated so there's room when not rush hour. If you're in Waltham or surrounding and need a breakfast fix. This is a good choice.

Beware. Refills of coffee are extra cost unknown to us at the time. Most places charge one price per cup which includes refills. She kept coming by topping off our two cups and on the check charging us almost $14 for two coffees. Everything is extra in this place. You can see for yourself in picture of slip. Just a heads up..

Breakfast special - scambled eggs, homestyle potatoes, bacon, cheese.

If you've heard the saying that looks can be deceiving, it would apply to the breakfast/lunch spot! On the outside it doesn't look like anything special. On the inside it is also a humble view. The food however makes it worth the trip. I stopped here for brunch to meet my cousin while in town. We got some coffee, fresh OJ, and I got the breakfast special while my hubby & my cousin both got the steak and eggs. Everything was good.

Used to be our go to brunch spot since it is walking distance from my place. But during our recent visit, the food was not that great. Hope the quality doesn't g downhill.

Cranberry pancakes w/ eggs and bacon! 2nd time there!! Awesome as the first time

Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I ordered an Old-Fashioned and my companion a glass of chardonnay, both of which came promptly and were enjoyable. After some inquiries I settled on the self-advertised fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs. My companion asked about a favorite no longer on the menu, a salad with grilled chicken, and after checking with the kitchen our server was happy to report it could be ordered. My companion asked for dressing on the side and unfortunatel the salad came out dressed. Our server was happy to return it to the kitchen and it came out after not too much time had elapsed, the way she'd ordered it. I'm always skeptical that ribs will be fall-off-the-bone but these were close. Unfortunately, they seemed a little off; I still can't decide if they were on the dry side, lacking in flavor, or both. But the meat did come off the bone easily, so there was that. They came with french fries which were good, The location is handy and there is on-site parking. The atmosphere was energetic and it must be a popular after-work place because there were several large (10+) tables occupied. Still, not sure I would go back soon when there are other comparable places in the area.

It had a…read more3.4-star rating, but some of the reviews were positive and the location was convenient, so I decided to give it a try. We were asked whether we preferred a table or a booth, which I always appreciate, and we chose the latter. My first impression was that the open dining room was very loud. The noise was amplified by a party of about 10 people to our left and the ambient bar and TV noise to our right. Our friendly waiter arrived immediately, as did water and menus. Service started off nicely and remained good throughout our lunch. I wish I could say the same for the food. I was considering the Salmon Poke Bowl, but our waiter explained that the salmon wasn't served sushi-style, so we both ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl ($23.95). The bowls arrived in about 15 minutes, with the wasabi dressing on the side as requested, although technically the cup was placed inside the bowl. The portion was substantial and included seaweed salad, some avocado and a generous amount of grain. Unfortunately, the tuna had a noticeably fishy taste and an unappealing texture. Very disappointing. I left much of it untouched, along with quite a few of the other ingredients. When our waiter asked whether I wanted to take the remainder home, my answer was definitely no. Would I return? Probably not. I'd be more inclined to try some of the other restaurants in the area in search of better-executed cuisine.

Nice cocktail menu (but we didn't partake...). Casual diner-ish seating around an old school bar with a cool take on breakfast classics. The biscuit with butter and hot honey is big (share it) and outstanding. Our awesome server recommended the burrito ... but we went with a classic breakfast plate (great bacon) and their unique take on chilaquiles ... delicious all around. Can tell a lot about a restaurant by how they handle a hiccup. One of our dishes came out cold, and they were quick to remake it with courtesy, professionalism, and an apology. Bravo. Five stars for service, food, and ambience. Highly recommend.
