We ate here recently for All-You-Can-Eat Quesabirria Thursday. It's served on a buffet line with refried beans, Spanish rice, Beef Consomme, and a Salsa bar. The chef fried up the Quesabirrias while we waited. He cooked it fresh continuously throughout the day. The wait time for it to arrive on the buffet line was normally five minutes. The shredded beef Quesabirrias had finely shredded beef which was well done, with small amounts of jack cheese. The outer edges of the corn tortillas were slightly crispy. The Vegan Quesabirrias were good too, though there was no jack cheese in it. Our waiter Sebastian was accommodating to my dad and uncle. The decor of the restrooms were artistically multi-colored. There were several private bathroom stalls which were all Gender Neutral. This is the first time we ate here and the number of AYCE options throughout the week makes us want to eat here again. read more

Tried the $15 Taco Tuesday buffet today it was great! The selections were: grilled chicken, chicken mole, steak, chili verde pork and potatoes. I was very impressed with this place! The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. The ambience of the room was chill and quiet, we did visit on a Friday around 5 and we were shocked it was so empty. There was a point as we were eating where people had been waiting quite a while to be seated. Food was wonderful. I enjoyed the barbacoa tacos and a paloma. He came here during Cinco de Mayo and taco Tuesday. It was really busy and our server did a great job of helping us. The food was really yummy and I thoroughly enjoyed the unlimited taco bar. I wish we had gotten there a little bit earlier so that we could try some of the Menudo but there's always next time! I wish I had taken more pictures. Service was super slow, had to get my own to go containers, and I'm sorry but those were the worst tacos I've ever had. My taco corn tortilla smelled like toilet water, the "carne asada" lacked flavor and was like shaved beef. The only thing that was good was the beans and rice. Wouldn't recommend or go back myself. AYCE Taco Tuesday did not disappoint! Not crowded since we went on a rainy Tuesday. Great service. The choices available were chicken, several various pork (all good, i can't remember the names) and a delicious vegetable one. The Vegetable one was my favorite regarding flavor. The topping bar had raw diced onions, grilled onions (sooo good) peppers and 2 salsas to choose from. They also served beans. I would definitely revisit. I came here on a Sunday afternoon around 3:15 PM -- right after their breakfast/brunch buffet had ended at 3 PM (not totally sure which it's considered). Unfortunately, we had just missed it. I ordered the shrimp plate, and I was told I got the last pieces of shrimp available. I wasn't sure how to feel about that since a meal period had just ended -- maybe they ran out -- but just a heads up in case that's something that happens occasionally. That said, the shrimp plate was very delicious and came with a side of tortillas. My friend ordered the quesabirria plate, and while the main dishes were enjoyable, we weren't big fans of the chips and salsa. The chips were a little oily, and the green salsa was a bit runny -- I definitely preferred the red salsa. Overall, the vibe was nice. It's located downtown, so weekend parking can be a little tricky near the restaurant, but the place itself is very big and spacious, with the option to sit at the bar. Service was quick and attentive, and the menu has lots of variety. AYCE QUESATACOS! YAS! Immediately walking in I was excited, the beautiful interior, the detail to platting on the buffet table, and the passionate host we had was (chefs kiss). They had three options for tacos: beef, chicken, and vegetable (sweet potato). It did lack the QUESA in quesatacos but for AYCE for $19, I'll take it. I also tried their horchata, wasn't my favorite here unfortunately. It was really grainy than what I was personally used to but was still good. Wow! What an unexpectedly good treat! We stopped in here simply because of the sign. "AYE Tacos" Nuff said! Despite my trepidations, the experience turned out to be really good. The entrance is near the bar, with plenty of seating but tables are not so close that it's hard to move around. The hostess quickly found us a seat and our waitress came by very shortly afterward to tale our order. The waitress was extremely personable and attentive. She took time to answer all of our questions and get us set up for the buffet. The tacos were really good. They had chicken, steak, and even a vegetarian option. Plenty of toppings to add to the flavors. After getting our plates, we proceeded to eat ourselves into a stupor. The only downside was when we tried the tres leche cake for dessert. It was rather dry and did not appear to be cooked well, as there was a really hard section of dough. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she took it back and removed it from our bill without any hesitation. Great customer service! We tried this restaurant for the first time on Tuesday for the all you can eat tacos buffet and it was very delicious! They had barbacoa (beef), grilled chicken, potatoes, and mole with all the fixings, salsas qne beans. We received a wrist band $15 per person AYCE tacos and you wait in line near the taco station and wait to be called by the chef to make your tacos. The line isn't very line and goes by quick. They were very tasty and the tortillas were freshly made the service was great! The waiter and other staff were friendly and helpful we also tried the aguas frescas, Jamaica and horchata and they were both very good tasted homemade as well! We came here last night to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful experience! Our reservation was at 6pm and we were immediately seated when we came in. The host was very nice & welcoming. Our waitress came to our table soon after with waters and took our drink orders. I did not catch her name but she was wonderful the whole evening. Our party chose the all you can eat tacos buffet (great choice) which comes with beans. Two of us ordered a side of rice which fed the whole table. AYCE Taco Tuesday was a big disappointment - limited options that (1) did not taste authentic Mexican street taco style, (2) just 3 types to select from and (3) neither looked nor tasted good. I would never do a AYCE taco Tuesday here again. I would maybe consider coming back for the regular a la carte menu. A la carte menu: MUCH better regards to the shrimp, octopus tacos. There's a lot of choices when it comes taco restaurants... so definitely needs to make some changes! The aguas frescas (def the horchata) were also watered down. Visited on a Sunday for the all-you-can-eat brunch ($25), and it was absolutely worth it! Every meat dish was flavorful and clearly cooked with care -- the birria, menudo, and pozole all tasted like they had been simmering for hours. The tacos were fresh and tasty too. Delicious variety of tacos, all top notch: crispy, soft, all the meats, and quesabirria! The rice is cilantro lime, refreshing for the strong flavored tacos, and the beans are soooo creamy! The drinks are beer and tequila signature cocktails, and both lists are long and inventive. We had the best time, and our server gave us the most attentive service we've had in a long time. This review is specifically regarding their breakfast buffet. So close to us we could almost throw a ball and hit it. Why have we waited so long? We love brunch buffets and a Mexican buffet? Yes Please! Upon walking in we were greeted by several super friendly servers and seated immediately. We chose the buffet and went to work. So many variety's of meat! All moist and supremely flavorful. An omelette bar, menudo, pozole, 2 types of rice, 2 types of beans oh my! More than I can even recall. Prices are reasonable as well. Adults 25 / Kids 15. We went for the Saturday brunch buffet. The buffet was adequate serving mainly beef and pork cooked different ways with different sauces. My main objective was to eat as much menudo since I don't eat it often. The interior has this hip vibe with modern Hispanic music playing. They also have a made to order omelette and tortilla station. They offered pozole and menudo, but the menudo was the most popular. They do a great job refilling the trays. My favorite dishes were the birria meat and menudo. I was hoping for enchiladas or chile rellenos, but this place is all about the meats. A couple of things that I didn't like which was parking and the bathrooms. Parking is metered and nonexistent on 16th street. Every other street are one way and difficult to navigate. The bathrooms were gender neutral rooms with a toilet in each room/stall. The one that I picked had rust stains from urine splashing on the lower walls and a detached toilet seat. The stall situation was a bit confusing because the doors didn't have a label, so I wasn't sure if the colored doors were actual stalls. The buffet would be considered on the small side with limited variety. The cost of the buffet was 30.00 with tax included. I would definitely come back for the menudo, but wouldn't come very often because parking is really a nightmare. read more

They can get really busy and forget you checked in with a reservation and seat people who came after you without one. I'm flabbergasted by the terrible service tonight. On graduation day for Sac State, we thought to have dinner here since it was so good last time. What a mistake. From the moment we walked in, it took forever to be seated. Once we did, the waitress could care less about our table and instead took 4 other orders. Such a nice spot to get lunch or dinner! Came here with my friend for our first time and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is spacious, beautifully decorated, and has a great atmosphere. The staff were super nice, our server David was amazing! He was attentive, friendly, and provided great service. They have a great selection of vegetarian options, my friend got the potato flautas, and I got the soy chorizo taco, mushroom taco, and chipotle shrimp taco. The house margarita was well made and their agua de Jamaica was refreshing without being overly sweet. We came during happy hour which gave us 20% off our bill. Our server let us know that Tuesdays is all you can eat tacos on meats/vegetarian options, Thursday is all you can eat seafood tacos, and Saturday and Sunday is all you can eat brunch.
