For late lunch, I ordered the following: * Mexican Street Corn (prepared with garlic crema, cotija cheese, chili powder, and green onions) * 4 Taco Plate: - 2 Dirty Diana Tacos (prepared with beef birria, red mole tortilla, Monterey Jack, tomatillo salsa, onion, and cilantro) - 2 Sactown Fire Tacos (prepared with garlic, shrimp, red mole tortilla, cilantro slaw, chipotle sauce, and cotija cheese) The corn was absolutely delicious. The tacos were beyond palatable and mouthwatering in every single bite. Even though the Sactown Fire Tacos were super tasty, I favored the Dirty Diana tacos more because the flavor was more in-depth. West Coast Tacos was soooo good! We started with the free chips and salsa. Chips were fresh and still warm. We got the watermelon Agua Fresca and the coconut Horchata. Both were delicious, but the coconut Horchata was out of this world. I got the three taco sampler with Carne Asada, chicken adobada, and the pork Bulgogi. All three were sensational. They made a mistake and left out my burrito. I waited 24 minutes before asking them about it. By then my wife had finished eating. Despite the snafu, it was the best burrito I've ever had. Way better than Chipotle and heftier too. Tortilla was nicely toasted. Flavorful balanced meat and rice. Nice melted cheese. Hot through and through. I ordered it sans beans. It came with two sauces, one more savory, one more citrus. I moaned and chewed loudly while my wife sat there watching me. I offered her a bite, but thankfully she was too full, fighting off her own food coma. More for me! They gave me two complementary servings of chips and salsa so I couldn't be too mad. Update 5/19/26 visit w/daughter Food: 3.2 Service: 3.3 straight forward but friendly Daughter in town to celebrate her graduation from WSU, so needed to bring her to places she has not tried while she was away at college. A late lunch date and my daughter was excited to try their tacos: carnitas, Korean bbq, asada, fish, and 6-hr brisket and added the Mexican street corn. Unfortunately, she was disappointed in some of their tacos, the carnitas ended up crisp and dry and their 6-hr brisket was more like burnt ends but not moist. The other tacos were fine, but their fish taco did stand out = crisp light and flavorful! And the street corn was delicious, messy but delicious. Hard to say it the kitchen was having a bad day because we were dining after the "lunch rush". I was excited to try West Coast Taco Bar, but honestly my experience was a little disappointing. It was extremely busy and they only had one lady handling takeout orders and helping customers inside. I honestly felt bad for her because she was trying her best, but the wait was very long. She did let me know ahead of time that the food would take a while, which I appreciated. The place could have been cleaner, and when I got my food I didn't receive salsa or anything on the side, so I had to go back up and ask while she was already overwhelmed. They also only gave two very tiny lemon pieces, which wasn't enough. The tacos were a little pricey for the taste. My favorite was definitely the Dirty Diana taco, but the other tacos just weren't really my favorite. I also personally didn't like the horchata flavor. Had the pleasure of getting to know West Taco Bar's menu at a recent Yelp event. I had upcoming business in Elk Grove the following week and quickly decided we'd be having lunch. West Coast Taco Bar is small restaurant which lends to an intimate dining experience, but they are big in hospitality, great food and kindness. Chris made my tacos at the Yelp event, so it was nice to see a familiar face in a new to me restaurant. We were also greeted by Michael who was on chips and Jose who was working the grill. We ordered carne asada, chicken adobada and Dirty Diana. All the tacos are delicious, however Dirty Diana is the show stopper. The portions are generous and the watermelon frescas were perrrfection. Almost forgot to mention the chips n salsa. I like heat but for those who may not, please be mindful that the salsa has a nice kick. Suuuper tasty carne asada, though a little on the dry side. Much more carne asada than shrimp. Overall this burrito is definitely one of the better burritos that I've had in the Sac area. I also tried some of the tacos: - Classic asada: has the same meat dryness as in the burrito. Least fave out of the taco trio. - Dirty Diana: wow one of the most tender birria that I've had! The fire mole tortilla complements well with it taste-wise along with the tomatillo salsa! - Sac Town fire: garlic shrimp is buttery-soft and reminds me a lot of the shrimp at The Taco Stand in the San Diego area (albeit not as huge). Highly recommend if you're a shrimp taco fan. Lastly, dooon't sleep on the watermelon agua fresca!! Not overly sweet at all and tastes just like ripe watermelon. We decided to try this place again. I went to a yelp event when they opened long ago. It was a Monday and we came around dinner time. No one was inside the place. They have tables inside and outside . Pretty small place. I think about four tables inside and two outside. We were greeted as we walked in. The menu is on a TV screen above the counter. I got the four street tacos. I got the Classic Asada. It was really small pieces of meat and some gristle. Not my favorite for sure. Nest the Harissa chicken. It was ok , the flavor was a little off. Hidden gem! You can't really see this place from the street nor when in the shopping plaza at Smart and Final. But it's well worth your trip if you're in need of a good taco fix. The service was welcoming and friendly. We got there when they first opened and it was refreshing to see a smile as we walked in. Basically everything on their menu for tacos. Each taco was unique and had good flavor. Seasoning was good. I popped into the West Coast taco bar since I was in Elk Grove, and had read all of the great reviews! My experience was far different than some of the other reviews. I'm not sure if it's because there were four of us at the time, or have things changed that much in the last year?! We ordered a variety of different meats in our tacos, and then scrambled to find seating for the four of us. The inside of the restaurant is incredibly small and you're not meant to get comfortable per se. The description of all of the tacos was absolutely mouthwatering, and we were excited for what we thought was going to be delicious eats. We all opted for the three tacos special, I'm pretty much ended up, ordering the same combination. The Asada looked tasty, but the meat was very chewy and wasn't very seasoned. The chicken ( pollo) was very dry, and I ended up adding a bunch of salsa just to be able to enjoy it. The Korean BBQ was the most enjoyable, and I enjoyed it without the tortilla because the combination of the two just were not working. Everyone else ended up doing the same thing as well. The bonus is that there's plenty of free parking. I don't know if it was just timing on our part, or if this is what their current food status is. read more

This place has been around for a while but I've never been, however I'll definitely be coming back! It's a smaller location with only 4 small tables inside and a few outside. My group of 5 (4 adults and a kid) were able to combine two tables inside, but you might have more difficulty if going during a busy time. You can order directly with a person or using a kiosk to the side of the line. I got the 4 taco plate, chips, salsa and guac. The guac was delicious and a good portion for the regular size. The four tacos I got: Korean BBQ (this might have been my favorite, the flavors mixed with the flour tortilla were great), Dirty Diana (this is a classic birria taco, complete with the oily shell), Classic Asada (this was good, and make traditional flavor), and Pollo a la Brasa (delicious and tender grilled chicken). I have been wanting to try West Coast Taco Bar for soooooo long and I'm glad I finally did! This is a small restaurant, let's say mini restaurant, but there were still table top and bar top seating along with outdoor patio seating (shaded for the most part). Anyway, thank you for a wonderful first time experience! :) I ordered the Dirty Diana, 3 tacos, being nominated as an Award Winner I could not pass this up. It did not disappoint! The meat was succulent and tender. Every bite was deliciously fresh and filling. I do wish it had some acidity to cut through that kind of oily taste with birria. Nonetheless, STILL BOMB! To wash this down I got their coconut horchata. By far my most favorite place to order horchata. Best believe I will return frequently just for the drink! I was hesitant yet the coconut is subtle and horchata itself is thirst quenching. The watermelon drink I got to sample was very refreshing and tasted as if I bit into one. Loved both of these! One of my favorite taco places in Elk Grove. The flavor combinations they have here are on another level. Truly different than anything else that you can find in the suburbs of Elk Grove. They make it really easy by having a 3 or 4 pack of their tacos. My favorites were the dirty diana, the korean bbq pork, and the sactown fire. Love the wide variety of proteins they have. (They also have vegetarian options!!!) Service is fast and friendly. The shop itself is pretty small but there's definitely enough seating for small groups. Very bright and relaxed.
