Fish taco and 6-hr brisket taco
    Edwin C.

Update 5/19/26 visit w/daughter Food: 3.2 Service: 3.3 straight forward but friendly Daughter in town to celebrate her graduation from WSU, so needed to bring her to places she has not tried while she was away at college. A late lunch date and my daughter was excited to try their tacos: carnitas, Korean bbq, asada, fish, and 6-hr brisket and added the Mexican street corn. Unfortunately, she was disappointed in some of their tacos, the carnitas ended up crisp and dry and their 6-hr brisket was more like burnt ends but not moist. The other tacos were fine, but their fish taco did stand out = crisp light and flavorful! And the street corn was delicious, messy but delicious. Hard to say it the kitchen was having a bad day because we were dining after the "lunch rush". There a few items on their menu I haven't tried so hopefully my next visit improves because my other visits was really good.

I was excited to try West Coast Taco Bar, but honestly my experience was a little disappointing. It was extremely busy and they only had one lady handling takeout orders and helping customers inside. I honestly felt bad for her because she was trying her best, but the wait was very long. She did let me know ahead of time that the food would take a while, which I appreciated. The place could have been cleaner, and when I got my food I didn't receive salsa or anything on the side, so I had to go back up and ask while she was already overwhelmed. They also only gave two very tiny lemon pieces, which wasn't enough. The tacos were a little pricey for the taste. My favorite was definitely the Dirty Diana taco, but the other tacos just weren't really my favorite. I also personally didn't like the horchata flavor. Overall, I can see the potential, but the experience didn't fully live up to the hype for me.

We had an amazing experience! Even though we arrived close to 8:00 PM, they still welcomed us warmly and let us place our order without making us feel rushed. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. A special shoutout to Jacob, who provided outstanding customer service. He was kind, patient, and made sure we had everything we needed. His positive attitude really made our dining experience even better. The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was worth it! If you're looking for authentic tacos with excellent service, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend this restaurant, and we'll definitely be coming back again. Thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful experience!

The braised brisket taco is nuts, the Dirty Diana was gas, and the Sactown Fire was bomb!! also my first time trying Elote and now I'm hooked. They're making authentic Mexican food and keeping it all the way Cali. The staff brings a great vibe. They Got that fire.

West Coast Taco Bar in Elk Grove is a must if you're craving great tacos and huge portions. The burritos are massive--seriously bigger than my head--and packed with flavor in every bite. Everything we tried tasted fresh and well made. Their specialty tacos are also a standout with a great variety to choose from, so there's something for everyone. Pair it with one of their refreshing drinks and it's the perfect combo. Between the quality, portion sizes, and flavors, this spot easily earns 5 stars. Highly recommend!

Second time here and it didn't disappoint!!! I love coming to spot that I truly enjoyed the first time around and it was just as amazing the second time!!! Geez these tacos are good! This time around I ordered all the tacos LOL and my alll time favorite is the Korean BBQ Pork and dirty diana! These two have so much flavor!!! I love that they give you chips and salsa when you sit and eat there... it's the perfect bite that completes your meal! The guy taken was order was very nice! I keep wanting to try the burritos but I love the tacos too much to order anything else! My only complaint is that it's SO small inside!! If the weather isn't right then it's hard to enjoy your food inside as they do get pretty busy.

We ordered two 3 street taco plates and one classic chicken burrito. All of our meals had a great portion of meat, and made for overall good sized meals. The beans were amazing. The rice was alright. I ordered in the restaurant to-go. The man who took my order was kind and helpful. Service was pretty quick when they had a lunch rush. There are a few tables/chairs inside and outside.

Had the pleasure of getting to know West Taco Bar's menu at a recent Yelp event. I had upcoming business in Elk Grove the following week and quickly decided we'd be having lunch. West Coast Taco Bar is small restaurant which lends to an intimate dining experience, but they are big in hospitality, great food and kindness. Chris made my tacos at the Yelp event, so it was nice to see a familiar face in a new to me restaurant. We were also greeted by Michael who was on chips and Jose who was working the grill. We ordered carne asada, chicken adobada and Dirty Diana. All the tacos are delicious, however Dirty Diana is the show stopper. The portions are generous and the watermelon frescas were perrrfection. Almost forgot to mention the chips n salsa. I like heat but for those who may not, please be mindful that the salsa has a nice kick. The corn was sweet, fresh, and the combo flavors were delish...we polished off the corn swiftly! I am back in EG in a couple weeks for business and guess where I'll be dining with friends in tow? Thanks again, Chris, Michael and Jose!

Finally trying this place out and ayyy this place gives San Diego Mexican food vibes (if you know, you know)!!! First off, the bitchin' Cali burrito (ya it's called that :p). *Perfectly* sauce-soaked fries in the burrito. Satisfyingly soft & chewy tortilla. Suuuper tasty carne asada, though a little on the dry side. Much more carne asada than shrimp. Overall this burrito is definitely one of the better burritos that I've had in the Sac area. I also tried some of the tacos: - Classic asada: has the same meat dryness as in the burrito. Least fave out of the taco trio. - Dirty Diana: wow one of the most tender birria that I've had! The fire mole tortilla complements well with it taste-wise along with the tomatillo salsa! - Sac Town fire: garlic shrimp is buttery-soft and reminds me a lot of the shrimp at The Taco Stand in the San Diego area (albeit not as huge). Highly recommend if you're a shrimp taco fan. Lastly, dooon't sleep on the watermelon agua fresca!! Not overly sweet at all and tastes just like ripe watermelon. If you miss summertime, here's your drink-calling for it. :p Very friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor seating. No-fuss lot parking.

This is a very unique taco spot. They offer a lot of mixed fusion cuisine tacos and dishes. There is a ton of variety, which can be a good and bad thing. However, we tried about 5 different meats and all were completely different and delicious! * their salsas are pretty spicy so if you aren't a big fan, I'd recommend getting it on the side* My favorite was the west coast chicken fries. They truly take the fusion cuisine to a new level that I have not seen at any restaurant before. I wish I lived closer so we could come here more often! Also, the restaurant does not have many tables inside, but they do have a nice patio out front to sit outside.

One bathroom to serve the West Coast world. Some merch for sale too right next to it.

Thanks Jacob for answering our questions and hookin up the toreados (blistered and grilled jalapeños and onions in yummy sauce) - even though they are no longer on the menu. The toreados are the BOMB! A sweet P taco, street corn, 6 hr brisket taco, and 2 dirty Diana's. And cups and salsa. We always ask for the extra spicy salsa too. The food, good music, good service and the vibe are well worth the price.

I decided to drop by and use my Birthday coupon. I wanted to try something different, but just went with the Bitchin Cali Burrito. I was hoping that it would be a cheaper price if I'm not wanting shrimp. I wonder if they can make a separate Cali Burrito with just Carne Asada. I see that have a Chicken Cali Burrito. So just a thought to the owners of West Coast Taco Bar. I feel slightly cheated since I opted for no shrimp haha. Other than that, service was quick. I forgot they offer chips, however it's only for dine in. They have 4 tables inside along with a long 'L' table along the walls. Looks like they have about 4 tables outside as well. When around the EG area and want some tacos or burrito, stop on by!

We decided to try this place again. I went to a yelp event when they opened long ago. It was a Monday and we came around dinner time. No one was inside the place. They have tables inside and outside . Pretty small place. I think about four tables inside and two outside. We were greeted as we walked in. The menu is on a TV screen above the counter. I got the four street tacos. I got the Classic Asada. It was really small pieces of meat and some gristle. Not my favorite for sure. Nest the Harissa chicken. It was ok , the flavor was a little off. I got the Korean BBQ which was an upcharge of .75 cents. It tasted good and was moist. Lastly I got the Dirty Diana which was the beef birra. It was the best one . Full of flavor and yummy. An upcharge of .75 cents also. My wife got the burrito with the asada. She said it was ok. We ate the food there. The place was clean and the staff were nice. I was hoping for better quality flavors and taste. Oh well. Just ok

I was expecting a blast of flavors and spices in my mouth, but that never happened. I got 1 lime with this order of 3 tacos. 6/10 because it was crispy on one side more so than the other and it was packed with meat and onion. This seriously Lacked flavor. My friend got 3 tacos, asada and al pastor. I tried a bite of each, and the flavor was also lacking there. 3 tacos came with 1 lime. Their rice was very dry. Hard to swallow. 1/10. Fries were decent. My husband got their asada torta. 5/10. It was lacking flavor and the bread was just not good. The veggies in the torta were just not elevating the dish either. Not served with any sauces to go, so ask for it before you leave the restaurant.

The last time I came by after 6 p.m., they had already sold out of the Garlic Shrimp and Chipotle Pineapple Pork--the two meats I was there to try. This time, I got the chance. I ordered the Queso Tacos, which come with three tacos and your choice of meat (fish and shrimp are available for an additional charge). They're topped with sour cream, Parmesan cheese, onions, and cilantro. Unfortunately, the tacos were only ok. The Chipotle Pineapple Pork was a bit too salty and oily. The Garlic Shrimp was also disappointing. The shrimp had become soft instead of having a nice bite, the shells were mushy, and the generous amount of sour cream overpowered the flavor. I was hoping for a little more texture and crispness. I also tried both the green and red salsas, but neither one stood out to me, as they were both pretty mild and didn't add much flavor to the tacos. The girl was nice though, she answered all of my questions. If I were to try this place again, maybe I'd try the street tacos or their bowl.

There was no wait, and the high-top seating was surprisingly comfortable. Our server was welcoming and attentive, and the service was fast from start to finish. Between the great music and lively atmosphere, you can't help but want to dance while you eat! I ordered one of my favorites--the chicken sope. It was perfectly crispy on the outside while still soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicken was packed with flavor, and the rice and beans were just as delicious. The salsa that came with it was the perfect finishing touch, adding just the right amount of spice and an extra kick of flavor. My hubby ordered one of the carne asada dishes (so sorry, I forgot the name!). I found Rosa Madera when searching for "queso" in Yelp...(I really was wanting some queso)…read more Anyways, funnily enough, I read through the menu when I got here and ended up getting nachos in place of the queso...that's fine though, it gave me an excuse to come back another day. It's a nice looking place inside, especially considering its general location. They were busy even at an off hour mid-week, but I can see why because the food is great and so is the atmosphere. My first visit, I tried the following: Enchilada Verde (Lunch Menu), Mini Birria Tacos (Lunch Menu), and Nachos de la Casa (with asada). They also brought out complimentary chicharrones de harina, which was especially nice because I was super hungry! My second visit I had the following: Queso Con Rajás Dip, Los Favoritos, and the Burrito de Carnitas (Lunch Menu). I ended up liking the nachos way more than the queso. I wasn't expecting the queso to just be the consistency of slightly melted cheese. I also wish they were a bit more generous with the chips since I ran out of chips way sooner than the dips. No complaints on my main dish portions though! Really loved most things I've tried. The presentation of my dishes I've ordered here, the Enchilada Verde and the Burrito de Carnitas, was great too. The chicken was just slightly too dry for the Enchilada, but the flavor made up for it. Only complaint is while the service was nice, it was SO slow both times I've been here. It took forever to get the check and when they did bring out the card reader you can't see the receipt, only a total. Then their lowest automatic tipping button is set at over 22% (with two higher percent options), which is honestly crazy to me since most places start at around 18%. I way overtipped on accident the first time I came. I think it's highly likely they get overtipped for this reason, which is nice for them but kind of not fair to the customer. I'll continue to return!

I visited this past Saturday and it was quite busy inside like it always is. The restaurant is large enough to fit a lot of people, so finding a seat isn't an issue. To order, you line up in front of the register and wait until they call you. Once it was my turn, I ordered a Super Burrito with Al Pastor, which is my favorite protein choice there. Usually I order 2 tacos with my burrito but I was saving room for Korean bbq that day! The Super Burrito comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I also ordered a medium pineapple agua fresca, which paired perfectly with my burrito. After ordering, you're handed a number to take to your table so the servers know where to bring your food. As I'm waiting for my food, I helped myself to the self-serve chip bar. The chip bar is my favorite thing about the restaurant besides the food and quick service. I always get loads of both the white and red pickled onions, and some salsa to go with my chips. They offer many sides to choose from so that anyone can customize their meal to their liking. The pickled onions have the perfect level spice and acidity to them which helps with cutting down the greasiness you may get from a burrito. I also like to snack on them for fun too! The food comes out extremely quickly. When I finished placing my order and brought my number to my table, I went to the self-serve bar right after to get some chips. Not even 2-3 minutes later, I came back to my table with my burrito already there! The burrito was absolutely delicious and piping hot. It's the perfect size for me and eating it with the pineapple agua fresca and some chips makes it a perfect meal! Coming to La Favorita Taqueria is always a treat and I appreciate the quick customer service, self-serve bar, and delicious food!
