Was craving tacos, and decided to try this place out since the photos looked good and the reviews seemed good. They offer free fresh chips and salsa for dine-in only. It was a small bowl of chips but they do unlimited refills. They gave the red salsa by default, but I asked if we can try a different one. Was super hungry while waiting and had about 3 rounds of chips and 3 different salsas before my taco order was ready. I wasn't a fan of the chips texture. For the tacos, the portions were good and the tacos looked aesthetic. But it was missing the usual sides like radishes, jalapeños, etc. I guess for a place called 'west coast tacos', I shouldn't really expect it to be super authentic or anything. I was disappointed with the flavors and everything was mid.

    Tacos: 1 Asada, 1 birria, 1 Carnitas, 1 shrimp

Small, clean, and inviting. Menus are digital. Service was fast and friendly. I had a flight of 4 tacos for $15 and ordered: Classic Asada, Carnitas, Dirty Diana, Sactown Fire. They don't have tacos Al Pastor which is interesting but they do have Birria tacos and they were really good. Although they aren't crunchy queso birria tacos with consomé, this specific taco sold as "Dirty Diana" (award winning) is loaded with a 'slow braised' beef birria full of flavor, topped with Monterey Jack, tomatillo salsa, pickled red onion and cilantro. Their tortilla is also lightly dipped in a red sauce they advertise as Sac Town Fire Mole. It was definitely a fire taco. Sactown Fire (Award winning) This is a flavorful shrimp taco where the shrimp is cooked in garlic to perfection. Not undercooked not overcooked. Soft, moist, yummy. I love shrimp tacos but this one was better because it was topped with a lime cilantro, chipotle mayo sauce and cotija cheese. Same mole tortilla as with the Dirty Diana. Classic Asada- was not a fan. Not much to the meat, a bit dry. It would have done much better with grilled onions but they add simple chopped cilantro and raw onion. I added lime for some flavor and to add moistness. Carnitas- same. Shredded and dry carnitas with not much flavor. You end up relying on salsa and other toppings for flavor and texture. I wouldn't get the last two again but would go back, despite not living in Elk Grove, for the first two alone! They were that good. My husband and step son also really loved the birria tacos and said they would also go back for those. Horchata- Last and certainly not least, we also really liked the Horchata. It tends to be too sweet at other restaurants but this one has a very balanced flavor. I did notice they pump coconut syrup in your cup so if you don't like coconut you might not like it. We did as it was very subtle. The horchata even tasted like arroz con leche and we bought two to go. **Drinks are not self serve and not refillable. Overall, there's a reason they are in business. The two mains are a clear hit, if you are into either of those meats (shrimp and birria-beef). If you are expecting to have a really good asada taco.. this isn't your spot. I'm definitely taco picky and if that's what I'm craving, I'm going elsewhere or making them at home. They do have other meats and even a mushroom taco I'd want to try.

What a vibrant & cute spot where there's minimal tables inside & some outside. I got the 3 tacos: asada, birria 1, & the shrimp 1. We got their free chips & salsa 2 along w/ sodas. Every1 was friendly & service was quick & easy!!! I really LOVED the shrimp 1-Sac Fire!!! The crunch of the tortilla w/ the shrimp, slaw, & the cheese!!!! Yummy!!! The dirty Diana-was good. The carne asada was pretty dang good 2!!! The chips & salsa was flavorful & I enjoyed it. I would definitely goooooo back!!!

Three tacos... two carne asada and one mushroom taco. All three were soft and full of flavor.

This is one of my favorite places to get Mexican food within elk Grove. Always friendly service and the food is of quality. They have a program where you can accumulate points so that you can get certain offers and discounts on food. You can order online on their website or you can order on one of the various sites to order online ahead. They do have a kiosk which you can order from. You can either eat inside which is a small area or you can eat outside. The tacos are amazing. My favorite is the three taco combo and I have to have a side of the Mexican street corn. If you don't know come find out so you will know how great this place is.

West Coast Taco Bar (Elk Grove, CA): Complimentary chips & salsa

I visited West Coast Taco Bar in Elk Grove, CA [8791 Elk Grove Blvd] on Thursday, 06/11/26, around 3:00 PM. I had a $5 off birthday reward, which was fortunately applied to the bill. For late lunch, I ordered the following: * Mexican Street Corn (prepared with garlic crema, cotija cheese, chili powder, and green onions) * 4 Taco Plate: - 2 Dirty Diana Tacos (prepared with beef birria, red mole tortilla, Monterey Jack, tomatillo salsa, onion, and cilantro) - 2 Sactown Fire Tacos (prepared with garlic, shrimp, red mole tortilla, cilantro slaw, chipotle sauce, and cotija cheese) The corn was absolutely delicious. The tacos were beyond palatable and mouthwatering in every single bite. Even though the Sactown Fire Tacos were super tasty, I favored the Dirty Diana tacos more because the flavor was more in-depth. The inside of the restaurant was small and cozy, with a decent handful of tables and chairs available. The service was amiable. The price point of the food was not too shabby. Overall, the tacos served at this restaurant were delectable. I will be returning in the future.

Incredible service, I made a mistake and ordered a burrito on the kiosk (Bitchin Cali) which sounded amazing but didn't realize it had shrimp, I have an allergy, when I recognized the mistake--they were apologetic, even though it wasn't their mistake. They remade the burrito I intended to order despite my intention to pay--they insisted it was free of charge. In today's world that level of service is unheard of and really appreciated. The food is to die for, but service with a smile is a bonus we all take for granted. 10/10 recommend this place on that fact alone! Support small business!

Update 5/19/26 visit w/daughter Food: 3.2 Service: 3.3 straight forward but friendly Daughter in town to celebrate her graduation from WSU, so needed to bring her to places she has not tried while she was away at college. A late lunch date and my daughter was excited to try their tacos: carnitas, Korean bbq, asada, fish, and 6-hr brisket and added the Mexican street corn. Unfortunately, she was disappointed in some of their tacos, the carnitas ended up crisp and dry and their 6-hr brisket was more like burnt ends but not moist. The other tacos were fine, but their fish taco did stand out = crisp light and flavorful! And the street corn was delicious, messy but delicious. Hard to say it the kitchen was having a bad day because we were dining after the "lunch rush". There a few items on their menu I haven't tried so hopefully my next visit improves because my other visits was really good.

I was excited to try West Coast Taco Bar, but honestly my experience was a little disappointing. It was extremely busy and they only had one lady handling takeout orders and helping customers inside. I honestly felt bad for her because she was trying her best, but the wait was very long. She did let me know ahead of time that the food would take a while, which I appreciated. The place could have been cleaner, and when I got my food I didn't receive salsa or anything on the side, so I had to go back up and ask while she was already overwhelmed. They also only gave two very tiny lemon pieces, which wasn't enough. The tacos were a little pricey for the taste. My favorite was definitely the Dirty Diana taco, but the other tacos just weren't really my favorite. I also personally didn't like the horchata flavor. Overall, I can see the potential, but the experience didn't fully live up to the hype for me.

    Three Taco Plate

The service is great and quick. The flavors are incredible! I even went back the next day and will make it a regular thing.

West Coast Tacos was soooo good! We started with the free chips and salsa. Chips were fresh and still warm. We got the watermelon Agua Fresca and the coconut Horchata. Both were delicious, but the coconut Horchata was out of this world. I got the three taco sampler with Carne Asada, chicken adobada, and the pork Bulgogi. All three were sensational. My friend got a chicken salad and it was incredibly fresh, generously sized, and she said it was delicious. I highly recommend this spot to anyone in the Elk Grove area.

Fish taco - came out nice and crispy! I'll need to try this one again--ate it too fast. Sac town fire - garlic shrimp on red mole tortilla. This one was my favorite. Good flavor and spicy. Bella Truffle - baby Bella mushrooms with parmesan cheese and white truffle. Different but good! Would get this again when in the right mood. Dirty Diane - Beef Birria on red mole tortilla. Very good. Single tacos about $3.88 each 3 tacos for $11.something 4 tacos for 12. Or 13.something (can't remember) Fish tacos are their own special menu item about $4.75 Dirty Diane and sac town fire are a little bit extra. They also give you chips and salsa for dine in while you wait for food to come out. The person who took my order was very friendly. No complaints and would definitely come back!

West Coast Taco Bar in Elk Grove is a must if you're craving great tacos and huge portions. The burritos are massive--seriously bigger than my head--and packed with flavor in every bite. Everything we tried tasted fresh and well made. Their specialty tacos are also a standout with a great variety to choose from, so there's something for everyone. Pair it with one of their refreshing drinks and it's the perfect combo. Between the quality, portion sizes, and flavors, this spot easily earns 5 stars. Highly recommend!

The braised brisket taco is nuts, the Dirty Diana was gas, and the Sactown Fire was bomb!! also my first time trying Elote and now I'm hooked. They're making authentic Mexican food and keeping it all the way Cali. The staff brings a great vibe. They Got that fire.

The last time I came by after 6 p.m., they had already sold out of the Garlic Shrimp and Chipotle Pineapple Pork--the two meats I was there to try. This time, I got the chance. I ordered the Queso Tacos, which come with three tacos and your choice of meat (fish and shrimp are available for an additional charge). They're topped with sour cream, Parmesan cheese, onions, and cilantro. Unfortunately, the tacos were only ok. The Chipotle Pineapple Pork was a bit too salty and oily. The Garlic Shrimp was also disappointing. The shrimp had become soft instead of having a nice bite, the shells were mushy, and the generous amount of sour cream overpowered the flavor. I was hoping for a little more texture and crispness. I also tried both the green and red salsas, but neither one stood out to me, as they were both pretty mild and didn't add much flavor to the tacos. The girl was nice though, she answered all of my questions. If I were to try this place again, maybe I'd try the street tacos or their bowl.
