Stopped in just for an after work drink with my team. Upon entering the interior and decor of the restaurant is quite surprising. The exterior is understated but walk in and it's quite nice. Checked in with the front desk. "Party of 3, drinks at the bar." We took our seats and recieved the menus. A round of Paloma's was the move. While the bartender prepped our drinks, servers brought over a complimentary serving of the house made chicharonnes. Although we were there just for a drink, I observed that the place is well equipped to handle large parties. We were also told there's live music on certain days. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the food. For now I can say the ambiance is definitely up to par. As for the bar, its a bit short on top shelf options, not much to offer for a customer looking for an exclusive small batch tequilas. Went here expecting a nice date night after hearing good things, but left honestly shocked by how unprofessional the experience was. The atmosphere and music were great at first, and the food itself was decent, but customer service was very poor which makes this even more disappointing. The service throughout the night was all over the place. We were given chips with no salsa and had to wait forever just trying to get someone's attention to ask for it. It genuinely took almost 20 minutes to flag down our waiter at multiple points during the night. On top of that, the timing of the food made absolutely no sense. Our appetizers came out before our drinks even arrived. Everything felt rushed and poorly coordinated, like no one was paying attention to the table. The issue started when our server recommended add-ons and upgrades without clearly explaining the pricing. Everything was presented casually as if it was a small upgrade, only for the final check to come back WAY higher than expected. When we brought it up politely, the response was basically "yeah, we should've explained it better, but you still have to pay for it." That alone ruined the entire experience. What bothered me most wasn't even the money -- it was the lack of accountability. A good restaurant cares about customer experience and long-term business. Instead of trying to make it right, the staff acted like confusion over the pricing was somehow our fault, even though the communication on their end was unclear from the start. It's unfortunate because the place itself is beautiful and had potential to become one of our regular spots. But when a restaurant leaves customers feeling misled at the end of the night, it completely changes the experience. This place is obviously a vibe. When you first get there you'll be confused because it looks like a random building with no windows but once you step inside its so pretty. Now some of the tables are not leveled or even smooth and I was worried id spill something. Drink wisely they have a lot of mixed drinks and aguas frescas. Rosa Madera is a very plain looking restaurant on the outside. It is a rectangular white building with no windows on the front and no lit overhead sign to help find it in the evening. Once I parked and we started walking to the entrance, it started to look more interesting with the stone work and vines running up the stone around the front door. Then we entered and were wowed by the inside of the restaurant. It is absolutely beautiful inside, dimly lit with a blue lighted ceiling overhead. The lighting fixtures, wall decorations, and flooring are very nice. There are also tree stalks coming up from the floor and many of the tables are made from large pieces of wood. After sitting down for a bit, you almost feel like you're sitting outside. We were quickly greeted and received complementary duritos which had a spicy drizzle on top. This was unique to me as every other Mexican restaurant I have ever been to always serve chips and salsa. We visited on Margarita Monday so I indulged with a spicy jalapeno margarita for half off which was good. My girlfriend enjoyed the Mari Mar cocktail which was very pina colada-ish. For my entrée I had the Enchiladas de Camaron (shrimp enchiladas) which had a very nice presentation and a generous portion of shrimp inside. The avocado slices on top were a nice addition and the dish was delicious and filling. My girlfriend enjoyed the tacos de papa (potato tacos). There is plenty of parking available. Their prices are reasonable and service was ok. This is definitely a place worth checking out for some good Mexican food in a very nice setting. read more

We were a party of five on a Thursday night and I already had a reservation, but if you were to come without one there was no wait time at all. The lighting inside is absolutely gorgeous and the décor is stunning--such a beautiful aesthetic with rich red tones and roses everywhere . It is definitely a spot that feels special and picture worthy. We ordered several dishes from the dinner menu and every single item was a hit at our table. My parents were even impressed, which is saying something considering how judgy old Mexican parents can be. We all loved everything we tried. I ordered the Birria Chimichangas and my mom ordered the Molcajete. Both dishes were generously served and every bite was incredibly delicious. My mouth is watering just typing this. Arrived around 830 no reservation so a table would be 45 to an hour wait. Bar side is first come first served and so we waited for whatever came first. Bar side was ready in 15 we still saw the live band and could actually hear each other talk so that was actually the better option to us. Decided to celebrate my mom's birthday here and it was the perfect choice to celebrate her!! You can either make a reservation ahead of time or add yourself to the waitlist, the day of. I added our party of 5 to the waiting list and it stated the wait time was between 19-30 minutes.. quite a short waiting time compared to when they first opened up and wait times were over four hours !!We arrived to the restaurant about 20 minutes later, there's plenty of parking outside. From the outside, it looks very unassuming but once you go inside, your mind is blown away by the decor absolutely stunning!! Think modern Mexican decor , from their beautiful murals(the Virgin of Guadalupe was our favorite) to the hanging lamps, and mood lighting all so beautiful!! We waited about another 15 minutes or so before were seated. This is where the four star comes the hostess that initially greeted us was not the friendliest for being such a beautiful lively place she did not seem very happy. I requested to be seated by the Virgin Mary mural as I knew my Mom would love it. I told her we were willing to wait. She said there were people already sitting there and that she did not know how long the wait would be. I told her it was fine no problem It was just the manner it was she said it. Shortly, after that, another hostess came, and she was the complete opposite very friendly. She asked how many people in my party ..at this point the other girl had walked away and she took us to our table and it actually ended up being a better spot because you could still see the mural, but we weren't too close to the stage where there was a live mariachi playing. My mom absolutely loved everything about the restaurant. I could tell she was having a good time. She has dementia and a lot of times she has a serious look on her face, but she was moving to the music and commenting on everything around her saying how beautiful everything was!! You get a free appetizer of these crispy round chip like wheels that are light and tasty and we also ordered chips and salsa and oh that salsa was authentic and so tasty!! For food we ordered Enchiladas Michoacanas, Sopes and the Birria for my mom. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food , my mom really enjoyed the Birria The portion is very large. I would say three people could easily eat off of one portion, it comes with home made tortillas that my mom really enjoyed. There is a mariachi that plays here on Sundays and I believe also Wednesdays and Fridays. It really adds to the atmosphere, and they were amazing!! They took the time to sing happy birthday to whoever was celebrating her birthday!! at the very end, they brought out a beautiful large sombrero and a flaming candle and dessert which I believe was flan and Tres Leche cake.. the staff saying happy birthday to her and she loved it!! For drinks, we ordered the tamarindo margarita, mango margarita, two other cocktails (that I cannot remember the names of), and horchata. The horchata was the crowd favorite. It was milky, sweet but not too sweet, and had just the right amount of cinnamon. My sister preferred the tamarind margarita over the mango margarita, but both were still good. I cannot remember the name of the cocktail I ordered, but I was not fond of it. Our server was super attentive, realized I barely drank my cocktail and when I explained I didn't enjoy it he took it off our bill no questions asked. I appreciated his attentiveness, he was great throughout the night. The food itself was seasoned well and comes in generous portions. Our server was kind enough to warn us that the aguachile ceviche was spicy, but we found it to be pretty mild. The molcajete was delicious. My favorite part it was the chicken. Tried to give this place a second chance. Food here is very sub par. Guacamole and chips had no seasoning at all. Not even Guacmole. Just avocado puree topped with pico de gallo but no salt at all. Baja fish tacos were soggy as hell. They were soaked in mayo and also terribly under seasoned but not as bad as the guac. They were huge tacos but a larger low quality product makes no difference. Not to mention the Tortilla shell was overcooked and had a stale texture to each bite. They were not served with any salsa or lime as every typical taco should. The beans were to die for!!! Devoured them!! You guys nailed this. My entire tab was over $140 but it does not equate to what I was served. I can make there food much better at home for a lot less.
