Real NY Pizza...in fact, better than the pizza I had in NY just the other month...and no I didn't pull a Michael Scott and hit up Sbarro's. :) I've been coming to this place a long time and they have seen me as a newlywed, pregnant and watched my baby grow into a talkative 3 year old. The owners are friendly and so are the employee's and always ask about the family when we go. The pizza is great and they sell by the slice if you don't want to order a whole pie. Some of our favorites are the white pizza, vegetarian (sun dried tomatoes are great), sausage and the grandma (cheese on the bread and tomato sauce on top). Also, the antipasto salad is huge and delicious. Fresh salad, thin sliced red onion, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, fresh mozzarella, kalamata olives and lots of cold meat. The garlic knots are brimming with crushed garlic and a great combination of crisp outside and soft innards. Perfection! If you are ever in the mood for great NY style pizza stop by here. I work in the area, so I usually order carry-out style. As a 'yankee,' I will say that the pizza is good but it's not 'amazing.' and I've definitely had better NY-style pizza down here. I've had the eggplant parm sub lunch special and it's pretty good. the lunch special includes chips (no drink), but the two times that I've ordered, the chips have tasted stale. I thought it was a fluke the first time but I've learned my lesson the second go-round. I have to note that the service is not that great (at least when I check out), one of the employees (who happens to be female) leaves a lot to be desired in the customer service department. I'm not looking for a smile and some sort of sparkling greeting, but I do expect a "hello." If you're looking to grab a quick slice to satisfy a pizza craving, I'd recommend giving rosario's a try. read more

This is our go to pizza place! The owner is very nice and some of his family works there as well. The pizzas are made with fresh ingredients and they are always a hit with my kids and my parents! They make their own cannolis which are amazing as well!! I am now ready to try out some of the other Italian dishes that they offer. I can't even begin to look at "fast food" pizza chains anymore. I think Rosario's has lost my business for good. As a transplant from the north, I used to count in Rosario's for authentic tasting NY style pizza, but on my most recent visits, the service is terrible, the prices are sky high, and the food is mediocre. Two times in the past two weeks, I have come in to pick up a to-go order. There is no sign offering any option but to get in line behind people who have not ordered yet, so calling in advance doesn't really offer the convenience and efficiency one would expect. During one visit I stood at the counter for several minutes while the young woman behind the counter ignored me as she used her cell phone, and then watched the guys in the back cook. Perhaps she was on a break, in the middle of the dinner rush? If so, it might be best to do that somewhere else, so that customers don't observe that you can clearly see them, and are chosing not to acknowledge them. On my most recent visit, I was charged $3.25 for broccoli- this is a steep charge for a vegetable topping, but I was happy to pay it until I saw that what it bought me was barely 3 bites of broccoli on each slice. Then there was an extra $3.25 charge for garlic on my white pizza. I can buy a whole bulb at Harris Teeter for $0.60, so Rosario's is expecting an over 400% profit for this ingredient, if you assume they used an entire bulb which they surely did not. I know times are tight, but they are tight for everyone, including customers. I know businesses have to charge more, but the quality of the product and service here do not justify the current prices. read more

Holy toppings!! I got a veggie slice and it was overflowing with mushrooms, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, onions and green olives. I love pizza with green olives, so this made me very happy! I also ordered a supreme and it had black olives, peppers, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and onions. I probably could've had just one slice, but I am a glutton so that wasn't happening. I recently ordered a pie - as a treat. I love their food. But on this particular night - the pizza was terribly under cooked. I called the restaurant to tell them - and was told I could drive back across town and they would cook it. My house is being remodeled and I don't have a stove at the moment. So, while trying to explain that - I was told to hang up and don't come back. I am aware of the issues in the world. I wasn't being rude. The following day I drove back to the restaurant to speak to the manager. He told me he had all the business he needed, he gave back money and told me not to come back. What an asshole! read more

After over eight years of dealing with subpar, nasty crappy pizza, this is BY FAR the BEST pizza in NC. If you're from NY/NJ this means something to you, so act accordingly. I've been coming to Rosario's for years. The pizza is always incredible and the place is family owned and operated. Today, I had the chicken parmesan garlic knot. It's basically a huge, soft garlic knot that's been cut in half and stuff with a piece of cheese, sauce, and a hand-breaded chicken cutlet. We moved down here from Long Island, NY, in 2003. We spent several years looking for a good pizza place. Everywhere we went, left us disappointed. Then we found Rosario's! Holy cow! I felt like I was back in NY, from the first minute that I walked in the door. The proof was in the pizza! They sold it by the slice, and my first sample was delicious! They have all of the items you will find at a real pizza place. Calzones, Stromboli, baked pasta and meat dishes...they even have canolis and REAL Italian ices! It's a little far from our house in Kannapolis, but it's well worth the trip! I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for Authentic Italian food. Just got a pick up order from here and I'm curious to know why my pizza has two shades? Oh wait I've been in the business awhile so I'll let you know... it's because was was cooked before the other... because this place does pizza by the slice... so I can imagine they had half my order already made with a lot of pepperoni on one half and one made to order with barely any on the other half. Admittedly it's a bit tough to walk past this place, smell it and not end up stopping in! My husband and I can be a bit pizza snobby sometimes but the smell drew us in! We didn't want to commit to a whole pizza in just one flavor so we grabbed a few slices to try. We ordered the stuffed slice and the grandmas slice. They were huge! We split both and I kept looking at my plate thinking I had the entire slice! They had garlic on the table, too which is really the way to our hearts! The restaurant itself is a little bland but the atmosphere doesn't suffer nor does the service. We will be back to try more of the vegetarian options! read more

I'm in between a 3/4 stars so 3.5? But anyways the pizza looked fantastic, and the slices are so huge! We ordered a large, half cheese and half mushroom & pineapple. The plain cheese honestly was so chewy, and it tasted like the pizza has been out for a while, not fresh out the oven ya know ? The mushroom & pineapple was a bit better, the cheese wasn't as tough and a bit softer. The pizza sauce was a lil way too salty, but I did enjoy the dough & the thinness of the crust! I wished I enjoyed the pizza more because it's sooo close to my home plus it's a local business! Maybe I'll give it another try again sometime. read more

We ordered Rosario's for take out tonight. I called it in a little early around 5ish to beat the Saturday night rush. They were not very busy when I got there. The kid who helped me was nice enough. My pizza's weren't quite ready so I had to wait a bit for them to finish up in the oven. I found an old article on the wall from a local newspaper I never noticed before. Surprisingly, it was from 2005! I had no idea Rosario's was there that long. Good for them. Glad to see that they are still doing well during Covid. Speaking of Covid, no masks were insight sans myself and one other customer. I know the mandate is gone, but man on man, does it ever feel weird getting food made from someone not wearing a mask. As for the food, I ordered a slice of the caprese and a slice of the bruschetta for myself. Those slices were GINORMOUS. I could only eat the caprese. It was just fantastic. The bruschetta will be my lunch tomorrow. :) Hubster and son ordered a grandma and a cheese pie. I didn't try either, but they raved about them. Hubs is in a food coma currently so that's proof positive. The only thing I can ding them for is the cheese completely pulled off of my son's two slices.
