My companion and I were lucky to find a spot to sit, so if it's around the lunch hour, you might want to consider take out. Great things about Rosa's. 1. Very polite service. The girl behind the counter was great in her customer service. Very kind. Very aware. Very professional. Sometimes that can make or break a restaurant. 2. Good food! Almost...like a spec away... from amazing food. I had the chili rellano burrito smothered with chili verde as a plate. (With rice and beans.) If you get a burrito, get it smothered. Just trust me on this one! Companion had the Picadillo as a plate. We shared the bread pudding which is topped with ice cream and strawberries. I didn't think it was anything special. If they smothered it with tres leches it would be fantastic! Like I said, GOOD food but just shy of amazing. The burritos are huge! The rice and beans are just...well...the typical Mexican restaurant rice and beans. It's good Mexican food. Give it a try. The not so great things about Rosa's. 1. It would be great if they had fountain drinks. Buying a can or 16oz isn't all that great. 2. The parking isn't great. There is a very small area to park on the side of the building. And it's sort of in an ally that feels dodgy especially with the homeless people constantly walking through. If you drive a little farther down Binford, there is a parking lot for the professional building that you could park in on the left. 3. Small menu. Not a lot of options. Wow! So the first thing you need to know is this is not a traditional restaurant. There are no soda fountains or traditional service, they do have bottled soda, horchata and water. You order at the register and there's enough seating for about 20 people in the whole place. This place is family owned. It is very similar to a traditional authentic food house in Mexico. The food was awesome. The horchata is very good. Everything is made from scratch. The rice and beans are flavorful and authentic. I got the Chile Colorado and it was really good. My wife got the Chile Verde burrito and I liked mine better but it was still very good. We did get a cheese quesadilla for an appetizer and it blew my freaking mind. We wrapped up our meals (couldn't finish them because the burritos are huge) with some bread pudding dessert. It was awesome. We paid $40 for everything including a 20% tip with a couple of extra tortillas. We will be back for sure. read more

I travel a lot! Like I spend close to 100 nights a year in a hotel, all over the west coast. I have been to Mexico on multiple trips; and this place ranks up there as one of my top favorite places. I had the Colorado, and the first bite is great! But then the taste gains as you dig in. Before you know it, you ate your whole meal before all the locals ate their meal because they are spoiled with such amazing food. We have been searching for authentic, homemade Mexican food locally for a year. Well, we found it! It's a mix of California and Texan Mexican (some TexMex, some New Mexico flavors). All scratch-made, all delicious. Some of the best beans I've had in years. The tortillas are massive, hot and fresh. The chile verde is melt in your mouth amazing. The chile Colorado packed a lot of heat but I could not stop eating it. $20 for two people and we both left full. It is tiny (four tables and a counter with stools) but don't let that sway you. If you're looking for chips and salsa as an app and a printed menu, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for great service, fantasize food and wonderful employees (who do it all and are all family) eat here and eat here often! Fresh, fast, clean and oh so tasty! Get the plate if you're starving and the burrito if you just want to fill up. It's a good size burrito, slightly smaller than beto's but larger than taco bell. And obviously WAY better than both. Fresh home made tortillas are superb. Small simple menu, and off menu items too (Pozole on Sunday for example). This used to be a greasy hamburger joint that sat vacant for years, and I'm so glad these guys are here! I got the Chile Verde burrito, and it was delicious. Spicy, plenty of shredded pork and beans, and the warm tortilla tasted great. This is a burrito you eat with a fork, preferably, as the Verde is super juicy and doesn't want to be held in your greedy hungry hands.. We must have came on an off night for this restaurant. A friend suggested we come here. He told us that is was spicy, and delicious. I would have to disagree. The spiciness tasted as though they added a lot of black pepper. I tend to enjoy my mexican food with onions, cilantro, and jalapeño peppers. My wife got the chile verde, and I got the colorado burrito. The colorado was medium on the spicy scale. The waiter told me that was the spiciest. He said the second spiciest thing was the chile verde burrito. My wife said it wasn't even mild. She also said they tried to spice it up with black pepper. The tortilla on my wifes burrito was not cooked all the way, it was gooey still in places. My tortilla was crunchy on the edges. I was hoping for more flavor. But, it was bland, and soupy. It was pretty expensive as well for the food we got. I wasn't full from the meal we got, so I am confused why other reviewers said they only ate half and were stuffed. As with all the other reviews, the staff is friendly. I enjoy Mexican food that not only has heat, but also has flavor. This place has neither. I live in Ogden, UT.
