Best meatball sandwich I've found in Atl area pizza is also excellent, people always very friendly

After doing an Uber eats delivery for them I decided to check them out. I ordered2 sliced one pepperoni and one with mild sausage The pizza was quite good. Nice thin slightly crisp foldable ny slice as I was hoping for. One issue though. The sausage. It tasted like they used breakfast sausage crumbles instead of Italian sausage. Had to pick them all off. Why ruin a perfectly good ny slice by putting Jimmy Dean sausage on top? ‍ Other than that I will definitely come back and would recommend as well. Came here after shopping at Home Depot, I was greeted and he was super friendly and answered all the questions. We ordered their lunch special 2 slices 1 topping , baked ziti and added sausage, and 2 kids spaghetti with meatballs. The pizza slices are very big, and crispy. The ziti wasn't very good at all. The sauce had no flavor what do ever. The pasta was still watery, like they didn't shake it good enough and it was luke warm. The kids spaghetti and meatball, my kids loved it , I tried it and the meat ball was still cold, same sauce and wasn't very flavorful at all. The cashier went to help the cook after taking my order , didn't wash his hand or use gloves. They place was clean , floor sweep and bathrooms were clean. Our grandsons are visiting from MO and after swimming we asked them what they would like to eat and they both wanted pizza. I suggested Rosa's at it is very close to us. We were so pleasantly surprise as to what great service we received and the pizza was amazing. The cheese pizza was cooked to perfection with a thin crust that melted in your mouth and the veggie pizza was fresh and very tasty. Not soggy at all. The crust had a perfect texture and held up to the toppings. The sauce really made it. It was tasty and tangy. We loved it and finished the two medium pizzas. Best kept secret in Marietta. Having eaten or gotten takeout MANY times and they were always spot on, I am wondering if they're under new management or ownership. The last two times we've gone there (or takeout) the food was subpar but our experience over the weekend was truly not up to their past performance. The pizza crust was like cardboard on each pizza except in the very center where it was practically raw. While I could live with that, the cheese "sticks" that they charged $3.50 for was in fact a hogie roll. It was dry, not entirely covered in cheese and oh yea, it was a HOGIE ROLL. Seriously?!! Some seriously good pizza here. Sold by the slice or by the pie. Rosa's has a little bit of everything and most of what you'd expect in a neighborhood pizza place. It's frequented by a lot of people in East Cobb. The employees here couldn't be nicer. And many of them have been there for a while. So, you get to know them the more you dine. Calzones here are amazing. They easily feed 2 people....or 1 if you're really hungry or have a growing teenager. Don't shy away from carryout. If you're not able to dine in, they can whip up anything from the menu in about 15 minutes. It's a great option if you don't feel like going out or if you want to grab something for the family on the way home from work. Call ahead, and it's waiting for you when you arrive. read more

Not bad for a local spot that isn't a major chain. Could be SO MUCH BETTER. Hoagies suck; Cafeteria food/preparation at best (lost a star after that one). Pizzas are better but need -better- ingredients (Better Mozzarella !!, Dough is ok) or charge less.!!. The overkill of toppings is kinda nice in a drunkard way. Mellow Mushroom is SO MUCH Better and about as much so it doesn't make sense, and no punch card system, email list, coupons, etc.. Staff has been friendly so far. PLEASE FIX YOUR MENU.. Geeeeshhh. First time. With a friend after church. Special was slice of pizz a d salad and drink. Fabulous pizza. Thin crust just the way I like it. Salad was huge but not skippy. First time trying this place! I went during my lunch break since I work near by and was impressed at how quick my food was ready. We just left Rosa's- a bit disappointed. The downtown location is quite venerable and many yelpers believe the suburban location is comparable. I hope not. As a neighborhood pizzeria, not bad. But not really a contender. Here are the details on the pie: Appearance: composed like a neighborhood pizza. Crust: Substantial composition. Folded well. Dry at the outer ring. A lot of ring was left on the table Toppings: Fresh enough . Enough quantity. No stand outs. Sauce: Seemed fine- not great. However, let me say enough with the THYME! I don't know if it was in the sauce or sprinkled on top but THYME after THYME does anyone know what THYME it is? If I could save THYME in a bottle but please DON"T give me just a little more THYME! WTF are they thinkin? Next topic, service. OK somebody said "surly". Good word. We were a big party, eating, drinking, and spending some money in there. He wasn't really rude but instead exibhited, in clinical terms, "a significant lack of affect" . You feel like he thinks you are imposing by placing an order. And it is not like he is highly efficient. Looked me in the eye and didn't write down my daughters hero sandwich. What an ass! But BTW, I didn't try it but when they finally brought that sandwich, late, it looked really good- the chicken parm hero. Sandy Plains Road is a za lovers dream. Within a mile or two of each other, is Capozzis, LaBellas AND Rosas. Yes...same Rosa's as downtown, with better hours (notice the evening and weekend hours). Yes, same employees that work in town on weekends, same cook, same owner. How can this not be reviewed? There have been rumblings that this za joint isn't as good as the original downtown, but I didn't see much of a difference...except this place is much bigger, with real tables, and a bunch of nice flat screens to watch games on. Same guys tossing the dough...same guys at the register...same ingredients. The za....who makes better spicy not sweet sauce on a za in Atlanta? Maybe Oz Pizza...but not many others. Cheese that pulls and a nicely charred bottom of da slice. I'll say that the crust was a bit dried out but you can't have it all. The sauce makes that za great. I'm tired of sugar sweet sauces. I love trying the local pizza shops, and tend to cater to them first before the chains. This review is after my second trip to Rosa's. Our first trip we ate indoors. They didn't acknowledge or seat us for about seven minutes despite there being no other guests in front of us. The clueless staff just walked around and passed by us until we literally had to flag them down. Mind you the establishment is not huge. The decor is quaint, and there's a cool neighborhood feel. During this first trip they brought us a pizza and walked away without providing place settings or plates. We again had to flag someone down for help. The pizza was good enough to try again, however. The second visit was a pick up order. No one was in the place except the staff who was eating at a table out front. Slow day I guess. Makes it that much worse to say when we got home we realized our pizza was nearly uncooked. Cheese had never melted, dough was mush. We called and as politely as possible just let them know we had to continue cooking the pizza we just bought. When we said "just thought we'd let you know" they said "no problem." Right! It's no problem for you at all. It's our problem now. Thanks for not trying to make up for it. Sad there's one less local business that will be getting my money. I along with my boyfriend are absolute pizza snobs, and we've had pizza all around the world (literally) and we have come to the conclusion that this place has the best pizza we have ever had. They are all made fresh even if you order by the slice, staff is amazing, and they have wonderful beers on draught. Don't know why it doesn't have 5 stars, probably because the ones who gave this place bad reveiws don't have taste buds and hate themselves. BEST PIZZA EVER. read more

The downtown location has quite the reputation in the city, so my wife and I were excited to find out that one of their stores was open just a few minutes down the road. We finally ate here last night, and we did not leave disappointed. I have to admit, they make a darn good pie. We kept it simple - medium pizza with mushrooms, olives, and hot italian sausage. Everything about it just worked. The first, and most important, thing is that the pizza tasted great. This was probably driven by the fact that there wasn't too much of any component. One problem I've noted at other places is that the pies can get inundated with too many toppings. Now, we only ordered a few things on the pie, so I can't say what it would look like if we ordered one of their more 'stacked' pies. But, for what we ordered, we had enough toppings to know they were there, but not so much as to dominate the flavors. The sauce also had a great flavor, and is in good proportion to the rest of the components. The crust is thin, and came out nice and crispy ... perhaps a bit too crispy. This was probably my only complaint about the pizza - the crust was probably a bit too dry. I like a crispy crust to contrast with the rest of the pizza, but this was just a bit over what I typically prefer. Overall, a great pizza and a great experience. With Capozzi's just across the street, who does the better pizza? Tough to say - I would probably give the slight edge to Rosa's, mostly because of the proportions of all of the components. I'll also give them points for their simple and welcoming decor. Definitely a place we'll be happy to come back to. read more

Ordered three cheese pies for a 10 year olds birthday party last night. Couldn't figure out why the kids weren't eating and just throwing their pizza away until I tasted it. Have eaten at Rosas before and enjoyed it. This pizza was so salty you couldn't eat it. When I called today to tell them the woman in the phone argued with me. Awful customer service and awful pizza. Cheese calzones are awesome (huge), traditional with mozz and ricotta. Pepperoni pizza hits the spot. Salads are generous - try house dressing. Get a pitcher of 420. Kids like the self-serve pop machine. Carry out or dine in... They usually have the news on one television and HGTV on the other. read more

I really do love Rosa's but they're expensive. That said the lunch deal is always your best bet. Pizza is delicious and the slices are decently sized. The restaurant is always clean and there are like 5 TVs so you can find something to watch while you dine. read more

I feel like Rosa's is really underrated at times. The restaurant is really versatile meaning, it's great for families, date nights, or just a quick to go order. The pizza is great (you can buy by the slice or an entire pie) and the calzones are even better! Seriously one calzone could feed two people. We loved the one in downtown ATL. And this one is great too. WE like this one cause is open late and weekends. Came on a Friday evening. It was packed cause their pies are awesome. My husband loves them cause they pack on the toppings, I love the flavor. Every time they always hit the spot. We go her frequently for date night (whether that's my husband and I or my son and I). The calzones are my favorite: they are so customizable and are large enough for two meals (I think I'd be sick if I ate the whole thing in one sitting). My husband likes the beer and my son likes that it's a Pokéstop. The only reason I couldn't give this five stars is the layout/size. We frequently have trouble finding a seat. We have to avoid dinner rush all together, but I guess that's testament to the good food. ;) read more

I've been looking for a good customizable pizza place to replace my hometown Lupi's and this is the closest I've found. The crust was thin and crispy and quality ingredients were in evidence. However at $2 per topping, it gets really expensive fast. Mine had feta cheese, spicy Italian sausage, and pepperoni. They lacked a cohesiveness and their wateriness meant a tendency to entirely slip off the crust (the reheated left-overs, however, had a good binding). The sausage was also disappointingly mild, and unworthy of any "spicy" designation. Also, because the pepperoni wasn't on the top, it didn't get crispy which would normally intensify their flavors. It still managed as a whole to be a decent pizza, so I'll probably be back. read more

My wife and I are both from the North. I was born in NY and raised in CT and she was raised in NJ and since we have been down in GA, there are only a few REAL NY pizza places. Rosa's is definitely one of them. My kids wanted pizza so we ended up getting them a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni. I got chicken and pepperoni and my wife got fresh tomatoes, fresh garlic and chicken. Everything was awesome. Kudos. Great service and Great food. read more

Rosas on shallowford in east Cobb is the pizza joint of choice for my family and I. Everything I have tried there is tasty. I do agree with other reviews that the end of the crust is dry but the sauce is near ideal - a hint of spice not sweet. Free refills on drinks, limited beer (peroni, sweetwater & one other on tap) and wine - I wish they sold new castle. Lasagna & meetball sub are great when not in mood for pizza. The layout in rosas is clean and organized with wood booths, tables & chairs. You order and pay at the front register and then sit down. You get your own drinks and refills. The only thing the waitress/waiter does is bring you your food. To tip or not? They have a tip jar at the front register but the service they provide is minimal. The atmosphere inside is a bit of a letdown. The "Surly Big Guy" (Joe) as other reviewers have called him is in fact that - a personality transplant could do him some good. The rest of the staff is friendly, courtious & hardworking. Spanish speaking employees are kept in cooking and washing area. There are a few regulars - the Home Depot employee/UGA fan who drinks while on break and watches the Bulldogs fall short on their 4 HD screens mounted high on the walls. The weekend crowd consists of families from Sandy Plains Baseball post game, Lassiter High students, local everday families and various others. This place has the ability to be a true neighborhood slice of Italiana but just falls short due to the overall lack of personality. The pizza is really good and they have a good location in the Home Depot shopping center. Give it a try you will be glad you did. Fridays and Saturdays get there before 6 or after 8 for dinner as they get slammed. This place is a Steelers game watching local thanks to The Surly Big Guy. Came in here for lunchtime only the second time. Ws curious to see how their pizza was, since they have some really good reviews here. Last time I came I had a meatball sandwich, which was just ok. When coming in I was a little surprised at how lively and loud it was; don't come here if you want a nice quiet meal. It was full of some groups who looked like they just finished a baseball game with their kids. It was nice to have a few decent beers to choose from to accompany your pizza, including some on tap. I had a Fat Tire. They also had Peroni, 420, and Yuengling on tap. As far as the pizza goes, I would say it was above average. The crust was thin and crisp. The spinach topping I got was good with a strong garlic taste. It was a tad too greasy for my tastes, but overall was quite good. Overall this place is a great value for the money where you can get a decent meal with beer for under $10. Strongly recommend it. read more

Had a large half pepperoni half mushroom pizza. I picked it up and took it home. It was just OK. Really nothing special. The bad thing was.. for some reason in the 3 times I have got a pizza from there the cheese slides off the slice when you try to eat it. Not sure if it is the dough or if it was too oily under the cheese but it falls right off like papa Johns. Salad was good though. Too many pizza options around the area to go back again. read more
