Another great pick-up from Rosa's, I love their renovation and dedication to continuing to provide the community with great food. This should be on everyone's pizza crawl list. Family-owned businesses need to be supported, stop going to corporate franchises that don't care about anyone but themselves!!! Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Upside down Sicilian is an absolute staple. Sauce is great. Service is efficient. The slice- Crispy under carriage with a firm bite, fluffy dough to transition to gooey cheese topped with a slightly acidic sauce with hits of garlic. You get a traditional new york pizzeria ambience when walking in. They have a lot of other unique slices like the ravioli slice that has high marks. If you are ever in the area Def must try
They accept debit/credit card and now have a soda machine. They also renovated and have more seats! I haven't gone to their bathrooms yet since the renovation, hoping it's clean and able to be used with no problem.

However by comparison, the pizza quality here was better and surprisingly was the best or tied for best among all the places we went to. I went with the Upside Down Sicilian which had a pretty good crust especially with the cheese baked into it from it being reverse but the best thing here was the sauce. Super good quality tomato sauce with a bit of bite but not too much. I also tried an excellent garlicky slice (don't know the name) with someone else saying that the margherita was outstanding and another person loved their classic slice. Not much to say here outside of really liking this place. The price was decent and the flavors were excellent. I can see why it's popular with locals as they were quite crowded when we went there. Rosa's Pizza -- 5 Stars Slices Tried: * Grandma Upside-Down * Grandma Vodka * Gold Medal Plain Cheese I went to Rosa's eager to try a few of their signature pies, and the experience did not disappoint. The Grandma Upside-Down slice was fantastic -- rich, flavorful, with the cheese-on-the-bottom Sicilian style that Rosa's is famous for. The Grandma Vodka slice stood out as my favorite, with a thin crust style that I personally prefer, topped with their signature vodka sauce and perfectly balanced cheese. Both Grandma slices were phenomenal, with a great crust-to-topping ratio, strong flavors, and a perfect bake. The Gold Medal Plain Cheese slice was classic and satisfying -- a testament to Rosa's consistency and quality. Service was excellent -- staff were friendly, attentive, and made the ordering process smooth. Unlike some other pizza experiences, the slices were ready and hot, with no confusion or delays. Overall: Rosa's delivers on every front -- incredible pizza, variety of signature slices, and top-notch service. Whether you're a fan of Sicilian-style, thin-crust, or classic cheese slices, this is a place that consistently shines. Winner: Grandma Vodka slice (for me personally, thanks to the thin crust and perfect sauce-to-cheese balance), but the Grandma Upside-Down is a close second.
I absolutely love the updated decor and interior at Roses on 69th Street in Maspeth! The atmosphere feels fresh and inviting, and it really enhances the dining experience. Best of all, the food is still the same: quality, affordable, and absolutely delicious. Always a fantastic experience here. This is my go-to pizzeria & the only place I will get a chicken Caesar slice from .. who's kidding - I always get the whole pie! Rosa's on 69th is a staple! You can never go wrong!
Well, they charge extra for credit cards and $1 for doing your own drink refills. It could use a scrubbing. I got eggplant parm, spaghetti and a side salad. It was okay but not especially good. I'd go elsewhere next time.
The last time I visited Rosa's Pizza was over 10 years old when I was a kid but since moving back home, I decided to stop back in. I absolutely love the Sicilian Pizza. It always comes out hot and fresh, plus the tomato sauce is just perfect with a nice salty sweetness! The staff is also super nice and one slice came out to be $2.98 which is a steal for compared to worse pizza for more in Manhattan. I might be biased because of the nostalgia but I truly think Rosa's in Maspeth is one of the best pizzerias in NYC! I can't say the same for the other locations I've tried but the Maspeth location never disappoints and reigns as the OG. I'm forever grateful that it's just a short walk away from home and open late to accommodate any late night pizza cravings!
This pizza spot absolutely valid, recommend stopping here if ur in queens, big slices for $3-$5, staff was nice. overall its a 5 star restaurant
BLUF: One of the better pizza chains in New York City. Open late. We stopped by Rosa's Pizza original location on a late weeknight, and ordered two slices. - Upside-Down: A rectangular slice with cheese as the bottom layer (on top of the bread), and tomato sauce on top. The cheese and the bread were good, the tomato sauce was a little too tart. - Regular slice: Everything was very good with this slice, from the cheese to the crispness of the crust. Nothing was burnt, there was no excess grease. There was consistency in every bite. Having recently visited Di Fara's original location in Midwood, Brooklyn, I would say that Rosa's plain slice is much better than Di Fara's, although they are made and might be judged differently.
Sicilian pizza was very good but I think I prefer the traditional Sicilian where the cheese is on top of sauce. The greek salad was refreshing. the eggplant parmigiana hero was huge and a bargain at $8. Service was great. I'd come back to try the regular pizza to see if it lives up to their reputation. read more

Certainly not the place I remember. The quality was ... not there. I was highly disappointed and disgruntled and my poor girlfriend was let down after i hyped Rosas up. Maybe the other locations still good, but I won't risk it when there's better to be had in Manhattan. What really bothers me is they pre-make the Sicilians... and removing an ingredient is apparently too difficult for the staff because the pizza makers make them in the morning and put them in the fridge so they are ready to go in the oven upon order, or so I was told. I got there 23 minutes after I called it in and they said 15 would be plenty, I waited ten for them to give me the third pie that came out of the oven, the first two sat there with no one else around ... I wasted a lot of money and actually told my girl to just throw it out An entire half a pie or more- goes against most everything I believe in yet I condoned it- Heartbroken. read more

Rosa's is a regular pizza spot for my bf and I. It's the only spot around us that closes pretty late & the pizza is amazing. The upside downs are our favorites but we tried something new last night. My bf gives the onion slices 9.5/10 says it was missing a little something maybe garlic. The ravioli slice was the new one I tried and it was amazing 10/10. I think it was made with vodka sauce and the slice is slightly bigger than a regular slice. The staff and owner are super friendly & the place has that 80s pizza spot feel to it. Live, laugh, love, Rosa's. Just to be clear this is the Rosa's in maspeth the only locations close earlier & this one has a better slice imo! read more
I've been coming to Rosa's almost my whole life, and the one thing that I really appreciate about them is their consistency. From the time my elementary school class took a "field trip" here, to as recently as this afternoon, their recipe has not changed a bit. I've tried all the other pizzerias throughout Maspeth and nothing compares. Their sauce is perfectly done- savory, a bit of tang, like true pizza sauce should be. They don't dump mounds of sugar into it like some other joints do. The bread and crust are phenomenal; it's super fluffy until you get to the end where you're met with a nice crunch. They JUST recently started accepting credit cards. I never thought I would see the day. They've never done delivery for as long as I've been alive, not sure if they do now. As with many other pizzerias, sometimes the service can be a bit rough. But most times it's acceptable. It's more than worth it to put up with it. That Barstool pizza guy totally underrated Rosa's in his review. This place is easily a 9 or above. What does he know? read more

WOAHHHHH ravioli on pizza??? That's absolutely sick! Carb heaven right here with the deliciously crunchy pizza dough along with the shells of the ravioli. It is fantastic how the ravioli gets a little crispy from the pizza oven too! Honestly wouldn't get this everyday but it is spectacular for a treat. All the pizza here is delicious and fresh too! read more

One of my favorite pizzerias in Queens, maybe NYC. Rosa's has become an institution in the borough, as they've managed to sprout up various locations all throughout Queens. They are the consummate local pizzeria for NY standards and feature a lineup of slices / flavors as good as they come. This is the original location and it's still as popular as ever. (#1) Their claim to fame has been their take on the Sicilian square slice. It's not the biggest chunk I've ever seen, but surely among the tastiest. The "inside out" approach has the sauce nicely spread on top a semi-thick layer of cheese beneath. Couple that with their similar but truly wonderful grandma slice; a thing of beauty in the pizza game. Together they form some of the best square slices I've ever had. That's no exaggeration. They have a slew of other very interesting combinations that should not go ignored. Chicken & broccoli? Chicken & bacon and ranch? Rigatoni a la vodka? Not bad. Personally, I'm all for the ravioli slice and their regular pepperoni or plain slice. They aren't mind blowing, but there is an addictive quality about them. Something sweet in that sauce that I just love each and every time. The vibe is still as old school as ever. Dated interior, cash only register, and a dining room that is reminiscent of any retro Italian-American establishment. It's got the kind of space that is perfect for a movie / tv show to utilize as a backdrop. The counter folks is usually a makeup of some Latin guys, a teenager handling the register, or the sweet Italian owner who wisecracks with regulars from all walks of life. Maspeth is already home to so many pizzerias and Italian spots, but Rosa's has 100% put it on the map. It would be hard to call this destination pizza, but for any serious pizza lover in NYC, it's always worth a bite. Or two. One of the best pizza spots in Queens. A large variety of specialty pizza slices. My go to slices are the salad slice topped with lettuce, tomato, raw onions, black olives, and oil & vinegar. Next up is the upside down Sicilian with cheese on the bottom and plenty of sauce on top. Finally I recommend the Sfincione (onion) slice with limited amounts of cheese, tomato sauce on the bottom, and cooked onions on top. Throw in a beef patty for good measure. I must also mention I had a delicious chicken parm hero from here. This place is open until 1am during the week and 2am on the weekends. This is Maspeth so parking can be limited at times. read more

#15 4.4 (*Sicilian slice*) Known in Queens as one of the better local pizza joints, I finally made it here this week. Went with the Sicilian slice and it was one of the better Sicilian slices around. Fluffy crust with a delicious sauce and the right amount of cheese. It all comes together. read more

I've been coming here for years and they had a sign at the cashier saying yelp loves us ... it's true ... this place is delicious !!!! I should have written a review sooner. I came here especially for the upside down Sicilian slice. The sauce is 10 !!! Everything is good here you really can't go wrong. It's worth the trip for sure UPDATE 3/25/18 I came here this weekend for a quick slice and rice ball and I just had to say it was beyond delicious ! I wish they accepted credit cards but it's still fine I love this place read more

I always crave pizza on a Sunday! I am so glad that I finally tried Rosa's Pizza this past weekend! I had a lot of pizza since I grew up in Brooklyn and this place reminds me of the old-school pizzeria that I used to go to with my grandma. As I grew older, I appreciate Sicilian slices more and this place does an amazing job with it. Grandma Slice. This was my favorite here. It was just the perfect proportion of dough, cheese, and garlic. I love the pronounced garlic flavor. I just wish that the crust was just a bit more crispy. Sicilian Slice. The cheese amount is just perfect here. The dough was really good. The red sauce was just a bit too tangy for my taste. I am not a big fan of tomato-based sauces so it would be good for you red-sauce lovers. I would definitely like to come back to try the Chicken Parm Sandwich! read more

Rosa's pizza has been a very well known pizza spot for a long time. This is one of my go to places to eat. I definitely recommend the Buffalo slice and rigatoni slice but all of the specialty slices are delicious! read more

Great location to grab some New York pizza! The prices are good and the service is excellent. I also like that they sell pasta dishes and beer. Rosa's Round Pies are really large and delicious. Definitely worth the price. If you happen to be in Masbeth, Queens, NY, then this is a place to check out for authentic New York style pizza. read more
Being my boyfriend's childhood pizza place that holds a very special place in his heart, I knew I had to try Rosa's. We ordered the Sicilian, caeser salad slice, chicken slice, and the garlic knots with cheese to share with his family for takeout. The size of the slices were enormous! After sharing just half a Caesar slice and having one garlic knot, I was already getting full. As far as NYC pizza goes, everything was pretty standard. The Caesar salad pizza was pretty unique to me - I'd probably go back for that if I were in the neighborhood and craving pizza. read more

Stopping at Rosa's is a must for us. We live on Long Island previously from queens and whenever we are in the area or passing through we stop for our favorite Sicilian pie! We have been coming to rosas for a very long time! I'll be honest I am not a pizza fan like the rest of my family but I will eat their pizza! The sauce is amazing! That's their secret! The sauce! I recommend this place to who ever is traveling to the city! The best part is they are open till 1AM! So if your are ever in the area it's a MUST STOP! read more
Two years later, I'm finding that Rosa's pizza game is still one of the best around Queens. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's in the middle of Maspeth; the variety is fantastic, with salad slices for the healthy eaters and toppings like buffalo chicken and cheesy ziti that would give any dieter serious cause to hit pause. Fresh pies were being constantly churned out during our last visit, which happened to be the day right after a winter storm. Watching the crowds of people trudge out in blizzard winds to pick up their pies made me realize just how much beloved Rosa's is, not just as a neighborhood restaurant, but as a serious pizza joint. Once you start digging in, it's not hard to see why. The ovens are screaming hot, bringing the crust to that wonderful land of crisp and crunch while making the cheese stubbornly stretch across the distance from slice to mouth. The guys behind the counter provide what I feel is classic Big Apple service - cool, quick, and casual. The long glass display of options makes it hard to create a ready response to their 'What'll ya have?' But if you're crunched for a decision, the sicilian slices (endearingly called 'grandma slices') are a classic and fly off the shelves. If you're a crust fan, ask for a corner slice. Other traditional triangular slices are great as well and since they're larger than the average slice, there's a good chance you'll feel full after just one (though when food is that good, one will find a way to make room). While far from the absolute New York best, Rosa's puts out some solid eats that quietly calls me back time and time again. Parking here can be tough, but there are meter spots across the street and some hydrant spots right out front if you're just dropping by for a quick pickup. read more

This is my favorite local pizzeria and have eaten here for almost 25 years! Their quality has drop a little but I still enjoy a good Sicilian pie on the weekends. Pasta is good and they also may a very good salad pizza pie. Sicilian pie ($16.50)- delicious sauce & cheese , thick crust, love the corners. Rate: 4/5.
