Ordered a meatball sub with extra cheese, and boy did they hook me up. The bread was nice and crispy on the outside, but just chewy enough to give it some heft. Meatballs are good sized, seasoned nicely and freshly made. Sauce was thick, but with just enough moisture to soak into the bread, and when I asked for extra cheese, they delivered. All around, great sandwich. One star taken for the dining room, looks like they're renovating, so it's not much to look at right now, but the food was great. read more

Only gave one star for the fact that I needed to post this awful experience. Extremely rude customer service. We ordered a pizza and my husband went in for pick up. When my husband got there the owners son was extremely rude and went on this rant of his version of customer service and how he doesn't tell people to have a nice day???He then gave my husband the pizza and said he wasn't going to charge him?? He then stated that he poisoned the pizza!!! What an idiot!!! Then someone proceeded to call the police. They came and then left because there wasn't any disputes. We've been coming here for years, love the pizza. Was concerned that maybe it would change once long time owners sold the place. It's The Best place to get homemade delicious pizzaFrom the crust and I hate crust but will eat Rosa's Pizza crust to the toppings and cheese it's just ALL good and there portions are great for every size of family to small to very large and also for parties. Rosa's Pizza is a classic pizza parlor that has truly incredible food. I'm an East Coast transplant and this is so much like New York/New Jersey style pizza, I'm in heaven. They sell whole pizzas or by-the-slice and they are hefty portions! I was going to take a pic, but honestly I finished my slice before I had the chance. I remember way back attending Valencia and walking here for lunch. Back then you could get a pizza slice and a XL soda for $1.75...not anymore. I think for a XL soda and a slice it is now like $3.60 or something...I don't even pay attention anymore I just hand them money. The owner of this establishment is very nice and you can tell that he tries. If your attending a party in P-town, chances are there will be a Big Momma pizza from this joint there. The decor is kitchy due to the random-old-ass movie posters (they never even show movies!) and the jukebox. The pizza slices are big and greasy and bland but it's cheap at least. Worst customer service and food I've had the misfortune of ever trying. If you want good service, good food and to be treated like a human being, which i know is asking a lot right?! Avoid this place, run away don't walk. Picked up food from this location, never ever again. It was a slice of cheese pizza, spaghetti with extra meatballs. Simple order one would think. The spaghetti and meatballs were inedible, but the pizza looked good. Took one bite of cheese pizza just to be horribly surprised by my mouth being on fire. Immediately spit it out, to find a jalepaño pepper in my plain cheese pizza. Not cool. I decided to call because now the whole meal was inedible. Huge mistake!! I speak to someone whom places me on hold for a while, hold is just setting the phone down..You get to hear everything. Then a man with a thick Asian accent whom did not speak or understand English hardly at all. He was rude and kept talking over me asking me to tell him what problem is. Except at this point I've told him 7 times exactly what the problem is, except his limited vocabulary wouldn't allow him to have an actually conversation. He kept getting mad at me. I asked to speak to a manager. He said no manager here. I said fine, please give me his name. He repeated over and over no manager here. I tried to politely explain that I understood but still wanted his name. He finally got fed up with me and said, Robber. Then he hung up on me. I called back and asked why he hung up on me. He said I wouldn't tell him what problem is. I then repeated again why I was calling, so he of course misunderstood everything I was saying due to language barrier. He said they didn't make a cheese pizza. I told him it was a slice, apparently that word is not I his vocabulary. How the heck do you not know the word slice when working in a pizza place???? I asked what his name was again. He got mad and said I wouldn't tell him what the problem was. He then hung up on me again... This was literally insane, he is so incompetent it hurts my brain. Ordered the biggest size pizza they here, toppings: pineapple, pepperoni and mushroom. Hands down I will not ever order pizza from the regular food chains Pizza Hut, papa johns, dominoes and little Cesar's. Our pizza was full of flavor and ever piece taste so yummy. Came here specifically for the Big Mama, even though it was just me and my BF. We tried to call in, thinking it might take awhile to make, but we couldnt get through on the phone line. It was doing something strange. So we decided to stop in. No A/C, so thats a big minus, especially when its like 90 out. But the staff was friendly. We ordered the Big Mama Combo, made a minor substitution, and they said it would be 15 mins. They were pretty right on with the time. Didnt have to wait long at all. The pizza itself barely fits through the door and I had to put it in my trunk. So for those of you with small vehicles, keep that in mind when picking up! The pizza itself was yummy! The bottom of the crust was crispy but a little doughy at the same time. I dont mind that they cut pizza in squares. I dont see how that really affects the taste of the pizza anyway. Good coverage with the toppings, not too greasy. Bf has been eating the leftovers all week, so really its a good deal for the price. I believe it was around $50 for what we got, but youd spend more than that on lunches all week. The ambiance could use a little work. Old movie posters all over, big screen tv for sports watching, and plenty of video games and little toys for the kiddies to play with. Purchased an 18 inch pizza that costs over $24. Felt like I threw away my hard-earned money. Was very disappointed. The crust was very,very chewy and I didn't enjoy my pizza at all. Very casual pizza place with lots of room for parties large or small. They have great pizza, Fresh salads, beer, and lots of drinks to pick from. It has lots of posters on the walls, a few arcade games, and multiple TVs. The employees are nice not overly nice but the food is worth it. Here's the catch. Rosa's Pizza is not gourmet pizza. It's not anything fancy. If thats what you're looking for, you will be disappointed. Rosa's Pizza is your typical greasy pizza, but a hell of a delicious treat! It's heavily supported by people who grew up in Placentia, especially those people who attended Valencia high school at some point in their lives. While they have other stuff on the menu, I'll focus on the pizza. The pizza is tasty and always consistent. The individual slices are a good size and delicious. The smaller whole pizza's are also very good as well. Where things start to fall apart is with their 28" Big Mama Pizza's. They are the go to pizza's for birthday party's and such. They're a great bargain and a favorite with children. The Big Mama Pizza itself leaves a bit to be desired though. The bread / cheese ratio is way off. The bread is very thin, as too where it feels like all you get is cheese. Also, throughout the years, Rosa's has steadily raised their prices....especially on their individual slices. Cant really blame them though, thats just how the economy works. However, when the individual slice costs almost $3 a pop, its hard to eat there more often. The pizza is just as good as the first time I ate there in the early 90's. read more

This was my second home in the 1980's. I would come here after I got out of Valencia High School and order two slices and then play video games like Galaga for hours. Sometimes the owner would give two free slices and a drink for anyone that beat the Galaga high score so I would come in every day after collecting for my paper route (delivering the Daily News Tribune) and beat the score by a few points and load up on free pizza. The owner was always so nice giving me free slices from time to time and he would always come out and say hi. The slices were the best I've ever had and I'm so glad to see them still going strong. I had read mixed reviews about this place, but anywhere that sells a 28inch pizza AND slices of said pizza by the slice, I have got to try. I get home with the giant pizza pop open the tape holding the box shut and. . . WTF there are square pieces of pizza inside. Who eats square slices of pizza? Not I.
