The French dip was loaded with meat. The smash burger was good too. Went on a Friday night. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating, games, and free cookies in a basket at the bar. The other Tony's in Placentia. Tony's Little Italy a couple miles away has the best deep dish pizza. Tony's Bar & Deli has some of the best sandwiches ever. It's was so hard to decide on which sandwich to get, but I went with the Boulevard which is Corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing on rye. My side was macaroni salad. It also came with a deli style pickle wedge. This sandwich was amazing. My tummy was very happy. I really loved their decor, all the old things on the walls and ceiling. Service was amazing. They kept asking how things were. They gave me sandwich ideas for my next visit. I saw they have trivia night on Tuesdays. All the sandwiches other people had looked so good. So let me start by saying it's a very nice deli! Awesome indoor decor and really nice patio to sit at outside. The parking is bad! I ordered the hot corned beef sandwich on rye with mustard. The corned beef was as tender as can be! My only complaint is the sandwich is very small for a "deli" its typical sandwich bread you would use at home. We were looking for a sandwich spot for our picnic at Carbon Canyon Park and although it was about 6 miles from the park, we made the detour and it was worth it. We loved the vibe from the moment we walked in. You can hang out at the bar, sit outside, or dine at one of the tables. We ordered takeout and the service was fast and friendly. We tried the Pastrami Sandwich that was piled high and included swiss cheese and mustard on rye. A side was also included and we chose potato salad. First time eating there, we ordered the Sheepherder ($19) which was packed full of quality meat- it was very good but would have been even better with a side of au-jus for dipping, and the Smash Burger Kelly style (add pastrami and avocado $19). Not really 'smashed' but a hefty double burger that was very tasty. For sides we had fries and a pickled egg with hot honey mustard (strong kick of horseradish)- which was a good on everything. Restaurant vibe was great; a fun, sporty, friendly atmosphere. Our server Kelly was top notch, she was outgoing, great energy, helpful, and she made excellent recommendations. Very impressed. I'm happy to see that Tony's Deli opened up in Placentia! I was sad to see they left the Anaheim location because it was really close to my job. Their veggie sandwich is my absolute favorite. It's a great size and it comes with a side. I always get their macaroni salad. The service was so quick! I ordered, used the bathroom, and a few minutes after, it was ready. The deli has a pub crawl type of vibe and very welcoming..Server Paige and manager Tawnya were really nice. Didn't feel rush since it's my 1st time visiting and looking over the menu on what to order. For a mid day on a Friday, the deli restaurant was pretty busy, especially at bar. They have big screen projection to host the Super Bowl. And have a few regular tv's at the bar. Interior is a bit busy but it's the vibe Tony's deli is looking for. I was a fan of the Tony's in Anaheim, so I was happy to see they have reopened in Placentia! I really like this location, they have an outdoor patio and with all the windows and doors it seems much more open and airy inside than their last spot. There is a small parking lot that was filled up when we arrived, but we easily found street parking about a block away. You seat yourself here and they bring you menus. We already knew we wanted to split a Boulevard, which is hot corned beef, pastrami, swiss and Russian dressing on rye. This was always my favorite sandwich there and it is still awesome! We got potato salad as our side and they gave each of us a cup of it, along with a tasty pickle. Lunch was $33 for the sandwich and one beer, we were both walked out full from our massive halves! Service was fast and friendly, I recall the last location being pretty slow. Was happy that is not the case here. Turns out Friday is "free cookie day" and the waitress brought us two large delicious cookies on the house. They were some combo of oatmeal, chocolate chips, coconut, maybe macadamia nuts? Tony's Original Bar & Deli just opened in downtown Placentia. A friend and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to check it out. They have their own small freshly paved parking lot on the side of the building, but it was full when we arrived. Luckily there were a few spots available just across the street. Parking may be difficult during prime time, especially with El Faralito just a few doors down. They have a nice patio out front with several tables, all of which have their own umbrella to provide shade on sunny days. They have a good number of tables inside and a full bar. The décor inside is fun with string lights up in the rafters above, and a ton of photos, plaques, signs, and license plates on the walls. It had an energetic vibe inside with great rock music playing, sports on the TVs, and a diverse crowd ranging from kids to seniors and everything in between. I thought you were supposed to go up to the counter to order, but a guy at the counter said just go grab a table and they will come and take your order. Just a few minutes later our order was taken, and our sandwiches came out quick. Service was friendly. I had the Boulevard sandwich (hot Vienna corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, rye bread, $18.95). It comes with a side, and I had the potato salad. It was a flavorful, good sized sandwich. The bread seemed a little thin and is very soft. Between a good amount of Russian dressing and the thickness of the sandwich, the bread almost turned to mush and it became a bit of a mess to eat. I would ask them to lightly toast the bread next time which would probably help. I liked the potato salad which is on the peppery side. It also comes with a slice of dill pickle. My friend had the Reuben sandwich (pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Russian dressing, rye bread, $18.95). There was apparently a little confusion when he was ordering, and his sandwich didn't come with the sauerkraut in it. He just ate it as-is, and didn't bother pointing it out. He enjoyed his sandwich also and agreed with me that the bread should be toasted a bit. We enjoyed our food, and it has a great atmosphere inside. It is a little on the expensive side at a bit over $20 after tax for a sandwich, but at least it comes with a side and has a good amount of meat. I'll return again periodically. read more

It was my first visit and the food was delicious. The decor is an eclectic old school vibe.. and as we sat down we noticed they have a full bar. As we were drinking a beer we noticed another table with a purple beer. We asked what they were drinking and found out it was Huckleberry spritzer. They brought us a sample and it was delicious too. Then we saw a large bowl go by and asked a waitress what is that? She said, fresh baked cookies they baked there. Take one, they free to our customers. So I went ahead and took one for each of us. I wasn't too impressed with the sides (potato and pasta salad) neither had a ton of flavor, I think I'll go for chips next time. They offer a full bar with table service, seat yourself. Located in a lovely part of old downtown Placentia is Tony's Bar and Deli. Today was my first time eating here but I will definitely be back. I went with two co-workers and they have both been here before so immediately they were excited about the cookies. That's right! There was a huge basket of warm chocolate chip and macadamia cookies warm and fresh and they were delicious. Unexpectedly I was eating a delicious cookie so I ordered a glass of milk. Wow. On to the sandwiches. I ordered myself the boulevard and the Reuben sandwiches. I got the boulevard with pastrami and corned beef so between the two the only difference is that the Reuben comes with sauerkraut. Both were delicious. Stacked high on warm fresh rye bread with melted cheese. My favorite was the Reuben with the sauerkraut it was perfect. My two coworkers both ordered chili as their side which looked delicious I'll have to try it next time. I got macaroni salad and potato salad. I really like the Mac salad, potato salad was a little plain for my taste but hey the sandwiches are the real deal! Next time I may try the titan or the French dip not sure yet but I'm sure there will be many next times! The decor and overall vibe of this deli is great. Drove all the way from whittier to full fill a father's day craving. Once I received my order i asked the same girl that took my order if everything was in the bag. She nodded yes. I checked it and noticed 3 potato salads were missing. Went back to the register and she asked is there something missing I let her know what was missing. Once I got home realized we got VERY wrong order. The sandwich that was meant for my husband was just a simple pastrami sandwich. Lots of staff readily available and checking on us throughout our visit, very much appreciated. Yesterday was our first visit to Tony's. As a local, I've heard about Tony's for years, dating back to their Anaheim days, and I've seen plenty of recent publicity on Instagram, so I was excited to finally give it a try in their new location. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with the feel of a neighborhood spot. It's a small, busy place, but the staff made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our drinks were great, the beer was ice cold on a hot day, and our food arrived promptly. One downside was the noise level. The music was extremely loud for such a small space, especially on a Saturday afternoon. It made it difficult to have a conversation with our server or even with each other. I could understand that vibe later in the evening, but during lunch it felt excessive. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the French dip. It was honestly one of the worst I've had in quite some time. With so many restaurants serving great French dips and Italian beef sandwiches these days, this one fell far short of expectations. The meat was tough, rubbery, and had a bologna-like texture and flavor that was very off-putting. Considering the price, it was especially disappointing. I've honestly had better French dips from fast-food restaurants. Stopped by during their soft open and it already feels like a it fills a void in the Yorba Linda-Placentia neighborhood. Easy parking. Across the street from El Farlito's. Saw some familiar faces, which is always a good sign. We ordered the Titan and loved it. The pastrami and corned beef were both really good. Big flavors. Super satisfying. Been here 10-12 times. Last 2 times have been disappointing. Ordered a BLT bacon had been sitting around and was hard. It was not fresh cooked bacon. This made the BLT bad. Today ordered the Tony's burger and this has changed. Smaller in size, buns were different was not the $18.95 burger Ive gotten in previous visits. Ice tea taste different and seens watered down the last two visits. Service has been inconsistent as there seems to be a rotating multiple person service strategy. Not a fan of it.
