My wife order the Kung Pao Chicken; I ordered the Spicy Chow with beef. Both were excellent and at the right spiciness. One of the things I like is the open kitchen and the flexibility of the menu. All the dishes are available with your common proteins: chicken, pork or tofu and beef and shrimp for an up-charge. The apps and soups are all authentic along with some choice for kids. The ingredients are left in big chunks, resulting in meat being very undercooked and the seasoning leaves much to be desired. Food often tastes as if the cook is not really familiar with Asian food. Ordered take-out for lunch, and I was underwhelmed. My friend's Kung Pao chicken looked (and tasted, apparently) a lot better than my bourbon chicken. My order was 75% rice, and while I appreciated that my dish was not drowning in sauce like you often get with quick-service Asian, some sauce would have been great. The rice and the vegetables were dry, as was the bottom of the take-out container. The chicken was good by itself, but I barely ate any of the meal because the plain steamed rice overwhelmed the chicken and the tiny portion of vegetables. Basically, I way overpaid for a container of white rice with a small side of sauce-less chicken and a few carrot slices. Some vegan options, but they could do so much better when it comes to the plant based options. An employee told me they use the same cornstarch for the chicken and tofu, but you can get the tofu steamed. The only vegan sauces are the Spicy Wok sauce & the Sweet & Sour. Their honey sauce is vegan as it does not contain actual honey. I would love for there to be more animal & insect free sauce options, as well as a separate cornstarch for the tofu. We had the potsticker app which were by far the best I've had in Knoxville. For entrees we had Spicy Wok Chow and Ginger chicken with fried rice and brown rice. We went for lunch and ordered a lunch special which includes an entree, I ordered chicken chow mein and added shrimp, a spring roll, and a salad or soup, as well as a drink. The salad was very tasty, I really liked the ginger dressing. The chow mein was SO GOOD! The shrimp were cooked well, not over cooked. We def got our moneys worth of food in regards to quantity as well as quality. The service was also excellent, super friendly and we had our food brought to our table super quick. My husband and I have eaten at WokChow a few times and I would say that it's decent food. Not mind blowing or great, but decent. You place your order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. It comes out quickly and has always been hot and freshly prepared. The restaurant is comfortable, there are quite a few booths and tables to choose from. The customer service has been hit or miss. We ate here for dinner once and the staff was friendly, attentive and professional, but when we came early for lunch a couple of times they seemed less enthusiastic and spent a lot of time talking amongst themselves. We've tried the Mongolian Beef, Bourbon Chicken, and Hawaiian Jalapeño Chicken, all of which had sauces that were borderline too sweet. The spring rolls and fried rice are okay, and the hot and sour soup is pretty tasty. As you can see from the pics, you get A LOT of food. A year later they have a special if I check-in and a new menu item I can't get enough of. Curry Malai is rice noodles, coconut milk, potatoes, peppers and heaven in a bowl. I ate half and finished the even better tasting other half at lunch the next day. The thing about Asian Fusion restaurants is they often fall into that taste limbo where you like the place, but nothing stands out enough to really care.
