We went for the first time for lunch and we like it but is not a place that I would go all the time. It is a small place so not good for large parties. The menu is nice but a little confusing in regard of pizza dough and pricing on ingredients. The reason I remove one star is because there is no wine or beer and for me to eat a pizza it must be enjoy with a nice beer. We order the breadsticks and the cheese bread, both were really good. The bread was so nice and soft with lots of cheese on top and the breadstick with enough garlic and cheese. We also order a thin crust pizza half veggies and half pepperoni. Not bad but for me the sauce was to sweet and I'm not the biggest fan on thin crust but that what they offer as their regular pizza dough. I always felt blessed to be able to have rosati's delivered to my home, and I've been doing so for 8 years since I moved to allen. I love the pizza, the Italian beef, and even make my own giardinara for them. I always felt like I was probably on the outskirts of their delivery area. I know many of you are probably tired of ex-Chicagoans speaking as though they are the all-knowing authorities on what good pizza tastes like... as if other parts of the country have no clue what awesome pizza is. But as a native Chicagoan I must say, when I first came to the South, they told me the best place to get pizza was Papa John's. I thought I was about to commit suicide from the utter disappointment. Those were pre-Yelp days mind you and sure, I've found some good pizza joints outside of Chicago since then, but none have unlocked that pizza passion. You know, the kind of passion that makes a Tightwad like me into an overly-generous tipper. Well, I'm just visiting, so I can't say for sure how good other Dallas area pizza places are, but I can say THIS is some of the best pizza outside of Chicago I've ever had. Staff is eager to earn your business and also gave me a sample of their Italian Beef, which was very good. There are a variety of crust thicknesses from cracker thin to thick pan crust cooked to absolute perfection. Be sure to save the crust edges for dipping in their house made garlic butter! So dang good you just may do a happy dance! I found it just a tad too salty, but still very dance worthy. Overall, I would make it a point to come here if I was anywhere in the Dallas area craving Chicago style pizza. While we aren't pizza snobs, it's been hard trying to find that "go-to" pizza place since relocating to Dallas from the Pacific Northwest. Though we had our pick of the litter with all the gourmet pizza joints in Portland, even finding a simple, but great-tasting pie would have sufficed. Thank Jesus, Rosemary and Joseph that we found Rosati's! The thin crust pizzas, fresh toppings and fast service are AWESOME. We've ordered out twice now, and are already big fans. Love the specials that they offer, the coupons they send you home with and the friendly workers. The "Works" Pizza is great for all you meat lovers, and the Canadian Bacon and Pineapple is awesome too. Definitely worth checking out! We'll try the Chicago Deep Dish next time, but really, you can't go wrong!! read more

The 4.5 stars is for DFW pizza comparison only! Do not compare this with Chicago pizza in the actual city of Chicago. Rosati's is a chain that is legitimately from Illinois and it is very consistent in its preparation and presentation of Chicago style pizza (Deep Dish and Thin Crust). When I can't make it home, its a very satisfying alternative. I don't eat "cheap" food, so I don't eat cheap pizza. The secret behind Chicago's famous food is....quality ingredients. Updated my rating, as I had a much better experience yesterday evening, and with the customer service, I received after my last review. I spoke with management and they explained what happened and were more than helpful. Good customer service is very hard to find and I appreciated it. Needless to say, I gave them another try & called in my order and this time decided to try the pizza. I did an 18inch pizza with mushrooms, jalapenos, Italian sausages and pepperoni. Taste-wise, this pizza is a lot better than your average chains like pizza hut or dominos. Overall, this experience was much better than the last, and I will be returning as this is probably the closest you'll find in regards to Chicago Style pizza. read more

Came here for a change of pace to the usual places we like to visit. What a disappointment. The pizza was just okay. Nothing special by any means. Guilty pleasure. I love this place because it's not just Pizza or just Italian. There is a wide range of foods and pizza styles to satisfy everyone in my family. I have enjoyed both the deep dish and thin crust the most. My daughter loves their breadsticks..but that's also were they lose a star. Consistency is an issue..sometimes the pizzas don't have enough cheese or it's just over the top. The toppings are the same way and even the seasoning and oils on their breadsticks is vastly different. Sometimes it's drowning in oil and garlic and other times it's just dry. The most disappointing (but not the reason they lose a star) is that their calzones are just cheese and your choice of toppings...NO RICOTTA. (this is just my preference) Now It does state that on the menu but I wasn't reading it when I ordered...I just assumed...being from the east coast. I will ask next time if they can put ricotta. I hope so :) Update: I ordered again and decided to try the calzone with ricotta this time. I won't say anything the pics say it all.( and yes that is a calzone not a slice of pizza) I ordered cheese fries..they were about four dollars which is outrageous for how many you get.( in the pic my daughter had taken maybe 5 French-fries max)The price for the chicken parm compared to size is laughable. I'm sorry to say I will never be ordering from here again! It's way to inconsistent..and just not worth the gamble on whether or not dinner will taste good..or even be enough food to feed us. read more

I am a chef from Chicago and I know good Chicago style food. Rosati's is world famous and everyone in Chicago loves it bc we know the real thing when we taste it. So the bad reviews here are ridiculous and I find most Texans don't know good food if it bit them. Everything about my pizza and Italian beef was on point and deliciously authentic. Not one complaint. Italian beef is like nothing else and a staple where i come from. So thankful I don't half to go without it any longer! read more

Found some sort of hard pieces in my pizza that resemble chicken bones or wood chips. -- disgusting -- Almost broke my tooth!!! I called Rosati to let them know and was bounced to several different people (3 different people) and was put on hold for some time with each person to figure out what to do. I spoke to the first person and explained what I found plus gave her my address to locate my order and she put me on hold and said she would get someone to help me. I was on hold for a long time (about 5-10mins) and then someone picks up the phone and says, "This is Rosati's how can I help you." With this greeting leads me to believe the first person was not trying to help me and someone just picked up the phone. I again explained to this person what I found in my pizza. She asked me what my order number was which reinforces the first person didn't relay anything to this person. She then tells me she will get a "manager" on the phone. Hold again...(2-3mins). The "manager" says she has to take a look at the hard pieces so to drive it over to the restaurant. What kind of customer service is this?! Note-the pizza was delivered to my house. I didn't pick it up. I then ask her if she could send someone over to pick it up to look at it since the pizza was delivered to my house. She then says, "Let me check with the district manager" (really!?-I'm thinking - aren't you the manager? Can't you make the decision?!) Hold again - 2 mins. What is taking so long? By this time I'm already upset that I found hard pieces in my pizza (whatever it is), was placed on hold many times, getting bounced to several people, and thinking these people do not care about their customers! The "manager" gets back on the phone and starts stating my address and says they will have someone come and pick up the hard pieces. She doesnt say hello when she gets back on the phone just starts stating my address. Note she's saying all of this with disdain and annoyance which of course upsets me even more. So I tell her forget it no need to pick it up and I will be taking my business elsewhere. We were (past tense) really good customers of this pizza joint (ordering the pizza at least once a week). We will NO longer be doing that. read more

But a good friend from Austin swore I would cherish delicious Pizzeria so far from home!!! I've already ordered from this gem at least 13 times already!! I'm from Chicago originally born and raised! The absolute worst experience that I had. I ordered the Italian beef no one as I am gluten-free. It came with a bun and then I called to rectifying the situation and it only resulted in the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I don't know why it deteriorated so quickly but they did not understand the concept and then ask for the Flippin Flippin sandwich with the bun back as if we wanted that I am so incredibly disappointed it was one of my worst experiences with the restaurant ever. read more

This is my favorite neighborhood pizza place. They really pile on the toppings and have really great service, especially from Kathy. It's a tiny dining room, but I think takeout & delivery are their real bread & butter. Thin crust monster is my favorite. read more

Being from Chicago, this was our go-to pizza for thin crust zah. So happy we found this place in Texas. In the south pizza is very hard to come buy when you have the best pizzas coming from New York and Chicago. My husband and I are food snobs so I was a little skeptical about trying this place, but it was actually amazing! We ordered ahead and it was ready when we sat down to eat. The ambiance isn't anything fancy, but our server was a sweet older lady who was fantastic. And the pizza was actually really amazing! Let me just say that we nearly cried tears of joy when we found out that there was a Rosati's in McKinney. This was our go to pizza place back home in Illinois. Since moving to DFW and before we knew this location was open, we tried a couple of local pizza places and settled on another "chain" pizza place. It was a chance meeting with a client of mine who is from Chicago who told me about this location. We have eaten our fair share of pizzas here and they just like home. We have eaten at three of the DFW locations that have been open (one has since closed) during our time here and this is by far the best location. The quality is on oar with back home and we love the coupons as well. It's well worth our making the drive to McKinney for our favorite pizza. read more

Wait times for delivery AND pickup are out of control and beware because the personal answering won't always tell you that it'll be a super long wait until after they've already charged your card/ordered. Also, every time we've called to order, the employees sound bored and irritated to be taking your order - it's as if they'd like to be any other place than there. Again, love the pizza but waiting an hour for delivery AND pickup on a Wednesday night is ridiculous so we probably won't go there again. Are you ready for the most fantastic wings and mozzarella sticks on this size of 380? Okay, that's not saying enough...the best mozzarella sticks EVER!! You know those sticks gonna be good when the cheese is SO fresh and real that there's a little liquid still in the cheese. These sticks are fried to perfection and come with a side of not too acidic, not too sweet marinara. It's not too oil, it's not too spiced! It's just right!! I cannot get enough of these cheese sticks, but let's move on! Surprisingly, this place has great wings as well. I definitely recommend you try them. They are also extremely fresh and well cooked. Not sure if they actually use high quality chicken or if they just have some magic in the kitchen. But either way, it's going to be on my order. Now! THE PIZZA. Probably what actually is bringing you here...abd what initially drew me in. Yum! If you order the pizza correctly (how you like it...which for me mean thin and crispy please!) Then you will receive. But you really need to let them know how you like it, or else you may not be happy. Once we started ordering with more detail, we were a lot happier.
