I ordered two pizzas and three drinks for delivery. The driver delivered the pizzas but forgot the drinks. He told me to call the store because he didn't have them. When I called, the manager confirmed the drinks were still at the store. He said he couldn't deliver them because there were only two employees working, and he claimed he couldn't issue a refund because the order was placed through DoorDash. The problem is, I didn't order through DoorDash--I ordered directly through Donato's website, and the charge on my credit card is from Donato's. The manager's only solution was for me to come pick up the drinks myself, saying there was "nothing else he could do." This has happened to me at this location before, and in the past they either delivered the missing drinks or refunded me. This time, it felt like the manager simply didn't want to take the time to resolve the issue. Overall, this was a very disappointing customer service experience. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend ordering Donato's for delivery. UPDATED: I got a call from the General Manager Josh today and he was way more helpful than the gentlemen I spoke to earlier. He gave me a refund and was very helpful in getting things resolved. I hoping it's not a new thing they are doing, but I went in for a take out order, they had no menus on the counter , no menu displayed over the counter or on the wall separating the kitchen from the counter area. I had to use my phone to scan a QR code to pull up a menu. Well I don't have time for all that BS. So I left. Won't be back . I am in tech , I have worked with the biggest tech companies in the world for decades. I won't involve my phone in this nonsense to order a pizza when I am standing in the store . read more

Calling all pizza lovers! This place was amazing! Thin, crispy crust baked to perfection. The place is small, but clean and very welcoming. The service was speedy. Pizza's are made to order so we had a little bit of a wait, but so worth it! The calzato was our favorite, rich flavors and the cheese was oozing out of it. Yum!!! I do not know why I have been craving pizza lately. Maybe I know I'm moving back to my old stomping grounds in a few months & I have to admit there are way more choices of different food on this side of DFW to eat than in the mid-cities, that could be because I grew up there and have tried them all. My bad, about Donatos pizza, I ordered through uber eats. I ordered the signature mariachi beef pizza which consisted of ground beef, freshly cut Roma tomatoes, jalapeños, & mariachi sauce. What really seemed interesting was it came with sour cream to put on top, which was so different, I had to try it. I also ordered a garlic cup to spread over the pizza. The picture does not do it justice. My order came fresh and hot. I was hesitant about the sour cream but I was going to try it the way they intended it to be eaten. I have to scream to everyone out there to get in your vehicles and safely, fast as you can try this monstrosity of a pizza. It is delicious beyond belief. Not what I was expecting at all. Get out of your pizza comfort zone and go try this marvel meat, cheese, & yes sour cream. Oh and the dough was amazing as well. This is our new go to for quick pickup or delivery. So much better than the chains and their service is over and beyond. Case in point, during our last pickup the manager came out and explained the cheese pizza got over cooked "too brown for me". He had already put a replacement in the oven and it was ready in 3 minutes. I would have not thought twice about it. We've had several of the specialty pizzas and they were all delicious. Surprisingly, the very veggie is my favorite. They do not scrimp on toppings. The thin crust is light and crisp. The salads are also generously portioned with lots of green leafy lettuce. read more

Donato's Pizza is finally here in Texas! I'm not from Ohio, but PB is and he's been looking forward to it as he grew up eating Donato's pizza. We ordered Founders favorite, Big Don sub and veggie sub. They don't have a soda fountain machine and they have Pepsi product. People at the counter were very friendly and welcoming. It's a fairly small store with several chairs and tables. Quite cozy. PB met one of the upper management gentlemen at the restaurant and he spoke with him to give him some suggestions since he's sort of an experienced diner for Donato's pizza. PB said it's practically the same pizza he grew up eating. We've seen several fellow Ohio folks eating there. I think they're all excited. The calzato is actually a calzone made with thin pizza dough and crispy on the ends. The selected toppings were fresh and hot. Absolutely delish! Donatos in Texas - YASSSSSS!!!! I was happy to hear that my family franchised Donatos and brought it to the South. This was an Ohio staple for us. Set up is nice with a good amount of seating, from bar tops, to booths, to regular tables. We had a family event of about 12 people and we were all able to socialize, eat, and have a great time comfortably. Atmosphere is welcoming. The pizzas were all amazing. We ordered a few different ones to try but my absolute favorite was the Hot Chicken Who would have thought that pickles on pizza would be life changing. That will be my official go to pizza from now on. All pizzas were cooked perfectly with an evenly distributed amount of toppings. We also ordered desserts - of course. Chocolate Chunk cookies and Party Twist. Both desserts were mouth watering. Great cookies especially with the added hint of salt and the Party Twist omgggg I could eat those everyday - soft and hot with just enough icing on every bite. Yum!!! Great customer service but it did take a while for a few items to be brought out, especially one order of a personal salad which took about 45 minutes to be brought to the table. Maybe they had to actually make the olives and grow the lettuce - who knows. All in all, I'm happy to have Donatos in Texas. We welcome you with arms wide open. read more

If you feel like being disrespected and ignored by staff...this is the place to go! Assistant Mgr. "Taylor" is beyond disrespectful, he is rude, argumentative and walks away from his clients before resolving the issue. If the customer has a receipt and he shows you what they ordered... why would you still argue about the order? He literally has proof, and yet the assistant manager still argued about it numerous times walked away from the situation and had his employee of the month try to resolve, rather than him dealing with it. He continue to show the paper what his order slip said, but we also had a receipt of the order and it was confirmed 3xs by their system. He blatantly walked away in the middle of discussion and went back to cooking pizzas while we sat there and waited for a resolution. We had to ask again before he came back out and said I told you I would take care of it, didn't I...yet it was then that he finally went to the register to resolve the matter. Was it you were having a bad day, overwhelmed, was this happening all night with incorrect orders or were you just treating me like that because of the color of my skin???? The front desk guy who was the employee of the month (his picture on the wall) was extremely polite, tried to resolve the matter and was apologetic. Sounds like he needs to be in leadership and Taylor needs to go back to scrubbing pots! We just found this place about two weeks ago and our first experience was great. Our second experience was horrible! Just disappointed that not only did we have to eat cold Pizza, but this guy also acted a fool in front of my child! Because of the incompetence of an assistant manager....I do not recommend this place till they do better with staffing! For now, I'm continue to go to Halo and Hideaway pizza! This was, hands down, the worst customer service I've experienced. We received half our order after waiting an hour, only to have the owner argue that we'd received the full order. They avoided resolving the issue for another hour. I 100% do not recommend this place--you're better off going to Papa John's or Domino's. Full Details: We ordered two full cheese breads. After waiting 30 minutes, I went to the counter to check on the status. The owner took over 5 minutes to even address us, only to admit the order hadn't been started yet and then put it in the oven. After another 30-minute wait, we were given what appeared to be half the order--two halves of a cheese bread pie--and told the second part would be out shortly. We clarified with the staff, showing them our order for two full cheese breads. The staff member confirmed this was only part of the order and said the second would be out in a few minutes. We returned to our table, and 3 of us ate the initial "order," which came with just two marinara sauce cups--costing over $20. After another 15 minutes of waiting, I went back to the counter, only to have the owner claim we'd already received both orders. When I asked them to confirm with the staff who had said otherwise, the owner dodged responsibility and ignored multiple other customers also waiting in line with complaints. It took over an hour before the owner finally pulled the staff aside, gave a pep talk, and came back to address us. The staff member who had initially miscommunicated now claimed ignorance and even asked if we wanted to pay for another cold cheese bread with an hour wait time--and did so in a completely disrespectful manner. At that point, we gave up and left. Final Thoughts: As a restaurant owner, your #1 priority should be your customers and their satisfaction. Making customers wait over two hours for food is unacceptable. Blaming customers for staff mistakes or miscommunication is unacceptable. Ignoring customers who patiently wait to address an issue is unacceptable. Misleading reviews by omitting key details and responding weeks later is just sad. read more

As an Ohioan and Ohio State fan, I was ecstatic to learn that a Donato's opened in DFW. We placed an order online, to be picked up an hour and a half later, just in time to get home and watch the game. When we arrived at the store, we waited for 15 minutes before we had to ask for an update. The employee then told us our order has not even been placed in the oven yet, and because they were so far behind, it could be up to an hour for us to receive our order. Frustrated, we cancelled the order, and the employee did not know how to give us a refund. In short: save your time and money and go elsewhere. just had a large margarita pizza that had maybe 8 sliced tomatoes on it. there was no basil. It was just flakes of basil like you would get from a McCormick's spice bottle. For a thin crust pizza it was pretty thick and hard... Cheese was good but that's about all I can say not even close to what I would call a margarita pizza. Where do I start? 1. I ordered through Yelp & the order never showed up in Grubhub app. Never got a notification from Grubhub that the order was left on the porch and the delivery driver never rang the bell. She dropped & left so it sat on the porch for like an additional 20 minutes and therefore was ice cold by the time we realized where it because my husband asked me what's the ETA & I was shocked it showed delivered.
