I just visited this place, I witnessed a female pick up her croc pin from the floor and insert back into her croc in the kitchen and then pick up trash from the floor and the head straight to touching kitchen items and utensils without changing her gloves and or washing her hands. I addressed this with her and she said "it's none of your business" I asked she changed her gloves and she then proceeded to continue touching kitchen tools with same dirty gloves and saying it was not my problem. Absolutely disgusting!!!! Will never return to this place again. And to top it off my bagel was burnt! read more

I guess there's new owners? The staff seemed a bit disoriented so be patient with them. Service was not great, had to repeat my order multiple times and they still messed it up. An old classic favorite place to get my bagel sandwiches. I'm always conflicted since next door they also sell bagel sandwiches. It's also listed cheaper on the menu but I'm staying loyal to my avenue bagel! I normally get the egg cheese and bacon and switch up my bagel preferences. Lately the total comes up to about $8 with tip and it kinda hurts to pay that much for a Sammy :( read more

My Nova Lox $11.50 was perfect! I chose the plain bagel with no regrets. Their bagel was SOFT, firm, and just overall one of the best bagels I've ever had. I regretted not taking a bunch of bagels home! The wild salmon and accompanying ingredients tasted very fresh. It was a great pick me up in the morning. Took a while to make the sandwich as I'm sure they get quite a few orders, but it was worth the wait. Looking forward to have some more bagels from them! They keep their shop clean. Horrible! You think you want to support small local businesses. They made a disgusting philly cheese steak sandwich that has an obvious after taste. They wouldn't change it or even give us something else instead. The manager Addie is rude is disrespectful. For the money you spend here I would rather support another decent business not a zero manner manager who doesn't know how to treat his customers. Was shocked by how much I enjoyed my hybrid croissant bagel. Number 12. Ham, bacon, egg, cheese. Each bite was good, especially that bagel croissant with their melty cheesy sauce, something along that line. What I would have liked was if the egg was prepared better. Even though its alright, cooking it from a microwave will have it tasting not the best. But regardless was pretty nice meal. read more

The guy at the counter couldn't be bothered taking my order correctly as he was on his phone. When I said that I didn't want it toasted and cream cheese on the side, he said that's how it comes. Not even trying to fix my order. I come here a lot and that will be my last time. Maybe when a customer states that is not what they want, you might want to fix it. On top of that my bagel was burnt so I was not able to eat it. Waste of $5. read more

I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese, tomato, avocado and lemon pepper seasoning (next time I will go without the lemon pepper). First time stop by this bagel shop for my breakfast , wow ; got amazed by their bagels , like the New York bagels , the textures are so good and make fresh everyday. They also serve lots of other breakfast like burritos and omelet . I got my jalapeño bagel sandwiches with the Vietnamese ice coffee . Definitely will comeback a lot . So glad I found this place while waiting for my dog getting groomed near by. The guys that work here are nice and friendly. I got a ham and cheese croissant with jalapenos which was amazing! Their fresh squeezed juices are great too! I got a juice with apples, cucumbers, beats and celery. It usually comes with ginger but I opted out since I only like pickled ginger. The juice was perfect! Looking forward to coming back soon! read more

The omelette was decent and the Vietnamese used coffee was good. Neither was amazing. The floors are a bit dirty, tables chipped with a broken surface or two. I had been looking for a nice quiet Starbucks however Maps gave me poor directions and I saw this place. Very loud inside due to a mother letting her small children watch a video at full volume. Later a guy came in and briefly spoke via speaker phone. The food and drink prices were a bit high $20 total for the place. Not a really bad experience but not what I wanted. Far from sipping my coffee and eating food in a quiet coffee shop. I rarely go to SJC but next time I'll spend more effort to locate a Starbucks. read more

I loved this place! I came here 3 to 4 time a week until the owner accused me of lying. The young man who took my order was on the phone while taking my order not really paying attention to my order. I ordered a smoothie paid for it, and then decided to get a croissant. Got the croissant but had to ask for my smoothie. The kid didn't really remember the transaction because he was busy talking to someone in his earpiece. Then the owner started insinuating I was lying because he only heard the croissant purchase. Nobody likes to be called a liar, then he told me to calm down. I was calm. In the end I got my smoothie once they checked the register showing I paid for it. Be professional, don't be on personal calls and then accuse people of lying because your employees aren't doing their job. read more

Mushroom crepe was large portion, good enough for two people to share as a large snack. Filling to crepe ratio was good, although a sauce would have been nice. We tried our friends smoked salmon crepe and we liked that better. Overall solid vibe with not too heavy food. Would love to try the pastries my next visit.

If it was possible to rate shop no stars I would. I don't think it gets worse than going into a restaurant to order and being spoken to so rudely and in such a filthy environment. THERE WERE RODENTS AND INSECTS IN THE KITCHEN ( and I saw this). To top it the service was atrocious. Several other customers were complaining of the rude attendant and being made to wait for unforgivably long periods before their order was ready. I was famished but I had to leave. Would rather starve than eat in/from a shop with deplorable hygiene and even worse customer service/ethics. Extremely disappointed with the hostile treatment I received from an employee here. There is a clear line between a worker having a bad day and an employee selectively weaponizing condescension and bias. The interaction was deeply uncomfortable, and the employee made his underlying prejudice clear when he told me, "Then don't come here again." It is shocking to see a business tolerate this kind of discriminatory energy and toxic customer service. If you expect a basic level of human decency and equal respect, avoid this place. read more

Refreshing surprise! This place is clean, the food is fresh and delicious. Had the bacon egg and cheese croissant for breakfast, it was huge and tasted great. That was the impression I got when the cashier boy kept walking away to do other things as I was in the middle of ordering like he was annoyed that I didn't have my order ready to give him all in one shot. It wasn't like I was just ordering for myself. I was ordering for two other people. I don't know if this bagel shop is under new management but whoever is running this store needs to re-train their current staff on what "customer service" is. They also took forever to complete our order. This will definitely be our last visit. We spent over 50 bucks for a few bagel sandwiches and a coffee! That's insane. Food sucks, prices suck, and even the new staff sucks. No thank you. I'd rather take my business elsewhere to Laguna Niguel or San Juan when we're craving bagels again. Audios.

We hope the café can do better when it comes to treating all customers with kindness, patience, and respect. Because of this experience, we unfortunately won't be coming back.
