I try to avoid donuts, but I swear the donuts from Roses call to me! Who makes donuts with Bacon or Fruity pebbles? Some sick genius I'm guessing. Also, the breakfast burritos are fantastic. Add a little avocado and you're in business. (chorizo! chorizo! chorizo!) The people that work there are on happy pills. They know everyone's names (due to the addiction mentioned in the beginning) and are truly pleasant and talk to you. Not just, hand me your cash and get out... They ask you how you are, if you enjoyed your last experience there, how your cat is, etc. etc. I mean, maybe I need a donut and a friend. TRY ROSES! They are open 24 hours a day. read more

San Clemente favorite!! Amazing customer service from young lady and kitchen staff came out to help when the line got a little long. Bagel Sandwiches hands down the best we've had on this trip so far. This place has out of this world options: everything from avocado topped with tomato to the donut burger. The best cafe and donuts in all of south OC. The employees are always so kind and gracious! The food will have you craving it time and time again. Their donuts are the most fresh and delicious in town! Not heavy at all. My go-to is the deluxe breakfast sandwich on a croissant and it brings me back for more each time. My family and I came to California in March of 2024 and found this little gem. The service and the food were fantastic. In March, we came for breakfast almost every day of our stay. Fast forward to August 2024, we decided to revisit California and came back here to eat, and I am still beyond impressed. The service and food were again excellent. Although I never seem to have luck getting buttermilk bars for my husband, Rose Cafe has glazed old fashions which are an okay substitute. I have also enjoyed their delicious and moist muffins. Although I don't come often due to stay at home orders, the occasional visit is a special treat! I usually get a dozen assorted and that's a lot of donuts for just two people but who cares! It's Covid and everyone needs to have something to look forward to! read more

We stopped by on our way south from Oregon to Encinitas, just found on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It was so good we also stopped on our way back north. The lox bagels were an absolute delight, completely unexpected. We also tried the junior breakfast burrito and I loved how simple and still delicious it was. The bacon/egg/cheese breakfast bagel on an everything bagel was fresh and very satisfying. We ordered the plain buttermilk bar (the right amount of crumble and just sweet enough), blueberry fritter (HUGE, crunchy but still soft inside) and old fashioned donuts: wonderful. Been here a couple of times before but only for donuts since the times I went the kitchen was closed. But today, today, my friend I was up all night for GTA5 after hour new dlc to download and I was hungry. Mostly just looking for fruit cups but majority of the grocery store don't open until 6am. So I might as well get a donut or two but nope!! I ended up ordering THE donut burger, and that was some juicy burger!! Along with a fruit cup of course instead of fries. The donut burger tastes like maple syrup, sweet and savory, with the fresh fruits actually balance out the heaviness of the burger. It's like when you have a McMuffin at McDonalds and you just so happen to pour the syrup is one way I can describe if you like putting things together to make one big sandwich or burger. Definitely coming back for sure, especially when they have the freshest fruits!! read more

What happened to this place? We used to love coming here when we lived in Shorecliffs. In fact today we decided to make the small drive back here to enjoy a sticky bun and some bomb burritos from Rose' cafe. We have lived away from here about a year and a half, and WOW! Absolutely terrible customer service and we are wondering what happened to the hometown and friendly atmosphere we always received when we used to come here nearly every weekend. The young man at the register as well as the senior staff should realize that poor attitudes towards their customers absolutely hurts their business. That's what made this place great, besides the fresh squeezed OJ and amazing donuts. So sad to see this today and my hope is that whatever is going on can get senior management to address it quickly and bro g back those friendly employees with a better attitude. I hope they can! read more

Fist time walking in this place I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich, and let me tell you this Sandwich was made with love The most delicious meal and the fries perfectly crispy and seasoned to perfection. When reviewing a restaurant I assess 3 things. 1. The environment and atmosphere, for example, a restaurant's interior design, decor, table settings etc. 2. Exceptional Cuisine. Mastering flavor and cooking techniques. Value. 3. Hospitality and service. Willingly welcoming and taking care of guests. Roses Donuts Cafe (since new ownership) passes all these three points easily. I have known Ali for decades and now I know he is there, I will be returning often. Omg great donuts at incredible prices. Got a breakfast burrito but only to get protein and the dog needs to eat eggs, not just fried dough. The glazed buttermilk bar donut was fresh and tender; my favorite blueberry apple fritter as so many crispy nooks & crannies, powder donut holes were perfect to snack on while waiting for coffee. This place is always great. It is busy anytime you go so expect to wait a bit. The donuts are always fresh and the breakfast sandwiches are exceptional. Service has been great every time. This place has given me the wrong order every time I have visited. This mornings episode was only for an order of three donuts. Two were chocolate and the third was a blue sprinkle for my child. We ended up with three chocolate donuts. And when I went back to purchase the correct donut for my child and explained what happened. The gentleman was the same person who helped me initially; responded with "oh whatever" about me having to buy additional food because he got the order wrong. Which seems on par for this place. If you want to REALLY experience what a delicious donut tastes like... GET HERE NOW! Rose's always has the MOST amazing donuts, beautifully decorated, and they basically just melt in your mouth! My kids (and myself )DIE for these every weekend, and it's become our Sunday ritual. Always super friendly service, and the coffee is the best In town too!! You will not be disappointed! Rose Donuts and Cafe was open and operate by the same family since 1984...3 generations. In 1984, we served homemade pies, muffins, donuts and burgers. Over the years, we added bagel sandwiches to the menu, then breakfast burritos when we realized the demands are there for a good breakfast spot to come to. Now, 35 years later... we renamed Rose donuts to Rose Cafe because it's not just a donut shop anymore. We had become the best breakfast spot for the community. We baked everything fresh on the premise. From bagels, croissants, donuts and making everything to order as breakfast burritos, wraps, burgers and salads as well. We also, are big on cappuccino and fresh brewed organic artisan coffee. There's are many flavor coffees to choose from, every morning. They've seen both of our children grow -- literally from in the womb, to infants, to toddlers, and now our kids are 2 and 7 years old. We'll be posting photos through the years because... yeah, this place is part of our family history. That's not something you can fake. This is one of those rare neighborhood spots where you sit for hours in the morning, coffee in hand, talking with locals, laughing, and catching up. It's where the community actually feels like a community. The owners, Dave and Dani, are some of the kindest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. Dave is basically a big kid himself (especially when it comes to cars) and somehow always finds ways to surprise my kids with random little toys -- the kind of moments kids remember forever. I grew up in a small town in Virginia, out of my own mom's deli and convenience store -- where locals gathered over coffee, the Washington Post (and yes... cigarettes back then ). Living on the West Coast without family nearby, Niguel Bakery & Donuts gives me that same feeling of home. This is a place where kids can still feel safe like the old days -- riding bikes with friends, scraping together change for a snack... and if they're a little short and have been on their best behavior, Dave and Dani might just take care of them anyway. That kind of generosity can't be taught -- it's who they are. It's an East Coast bodega-style bakery/deli, right here in Laguna Niguel, and they don't just talk about community -- they show it through the countless non-profit events, food donations, and local causes they support. If you're looking for more than just donuts -- if you want great food, real people, and a place that feels like home -- this is it. We'll be here tomorrow morning. And the next day. And probably for years to come.

The night before my dissertation defense, I ordered a 96 oz coffee (joe-to-go) to go with a note saying I was defending my PhD (preemptively apologizing if I looked like a frazzled raccoon and worried anyone on accident while picking up). When I walked in at 7:45 AM (15 min earlier than my pick up time, bc anxiety), the staff immediately complimented my defense outfit -- instant confidence boost -- and when I said I was the person picking up "lots of coffee," they led me to the coffee, already packed and ready :') They all wished me good luck with the warmest, most dazzling smiles. They even included a note that said, "You got this~!" which I kept in front of me during my defense. (see photo) And I passed!!! Also, they gave me half-and-half and oat milk?? In this economy?? Oat milk is basically liquid gold. I felt so loved. So caffeinated. So non-dairy option supported. Usually after defenses, there is leftover coffee that people are trying to give away. But me and High Tide Coffee? No sir. No leftovers. One of my committee members had about 4-5 cups, and I am not exaggerating., (Even in a field that basically runs on coffee, academics are running on caffeine.... and wine, so a room of 12 people, not all drinking coffee, and still finishing 96 oz of coffee is a record.) Thank you, High Tide, for the excellent coffee, the kindness, the emotional support, and the very necessary academic bean juice. I am officially glad I chose you to help caffeinate the most important morning of my PhD. and thank you again for supporting me emotionally and caffeine-induced confidence :)

By the time we got there (around 10am) it was packed and the rain was just picking up because before we got here, the car in front of us hydroplane and skid off the road and hit the curb. Yet, this place was still pack and parking was full. (We found street parking near Starbucks) I had my staff placed our name down since she lives closer, but they won't see you until all your party is here and that's fine. We ended up seating at the bar and left the booth for other parties. Love the teamwork, the staff were super stars doing a rush like that, let me tell you it PACKED HOUSE and we got our food and drinks on time, no one in my party had to wait to eat and I forgot to take pictures of my staff meals, only took mines and what I got for the table to share was a croissant french toast, which I believe was their special of the day. I got the chicken fried steak and the portion are MASSIVE!!! All of us took our food home because the portion size are insanely big and bang for the buck!! Great place to eat breakfast or brunch or even a 'Team Building Breakfast Time' LOL Just happy to treating out my amazing staff on their work. I will be coming back again to try out their lox bagels and chai tea. (It was in a massive cup that reminds me of the show FRIENDS.)

I am complete disgusted that you even reply this response. I don't ever walk in and cut in front of anyone and I can't believe you are defending this behavior. You are a disgrace. This was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've ever had…read more The woman at the main cashier, who was dressed very professionally, was incredibly rude, dismissive, and impatient with my parents. They speak English with an accent, and instead of showing even a little patience or kindness, she rushed them through their order and acted like they were an inconvenience. It was embarrassing and upsetting to watch. What made it even worse was seeing her completely change her attitude with the white customers who came up behind us. Suddenly she was friendly, smiling, and patient. The contrast was impossible to ignore and left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. The woman taking the donut orders was perfectly pleasant, so this review is specifically about the cashier. One rude employee can completely ruin what should have been a simple visit. No customer deserves to be treated differently because they have an accent or don't speak perfect English. Respect and basic courtesy should be given to everyone. We won't be returning, and I hope management addresses this behavior because no family should leave feeling the way we did.
