We went to this place on a rainy/windy evening in Maine. They have individually heated tents with a fireplace in the middle of the table. These tents are great, unless it's pouring and windy outside. The service was a bit slow, but they also had a birthday celebration for one of their staff members which was nice to witness. As of 5/30, the waitresses and kitchen staff are not wearing masks, so if this is something that bothers you, keep that in mind. The food was where we really had an issue. The lobster bisque was almost purely butter, but had a very generous amount of lobster meat. The clam chowder was nothing special. The baked haddock was swimming in butter and was a fairly small portion. In general, most dishes were dunked in butter or deep fried, when it was unnecessary. We were looking for a restaurant that wasn't heavy on fried food, but instead ended up with dishes coated in butter/oil. This ended up ruining the taste and from a higher end restaurant, I would have hoped for a far greater flavor profile other than pure butter. This place is a 10. We sat outside on a busy Thursday afternoon under a retractable awning - right in town providing great people watching. The buzz of Ogunquit is fantastic. Blueberry mule for me, an ice cold bottle of Miller Lite for my wife served with a glass for pouring. She went burger on a homemade bun - I went with clam chowder and their spicy caramel wings. Good heavens was lunch tasty. Portions were ample. Toss in attentive but not smothering service, some great complementary fudge brought with the bill, and a snazzy but chill atmosphere and you can see why this place is an Ogunquit mainstay. read more

Friendly staff, my stuffed fish suppose be with a very generous portion of crab meat, you can't only smell the crab. Small portions. The only good thing was The mashed potatoes . My husband fish and chip very dry, I can tell was frozen when they cooked. I will not recommend this place. read more

We came here a week ago, first time since their opening this season. Have been here a few times last summer. Each time, the food has been very good. I don't usually order a salad for a dinner meal, but coming here during the heat wave had me looking for something cool. I ordered a lobster salad which was the topper of a bed of romaine lettuce complete with blueberries, raspberries and grapes, as well as broccoli, red onion and cokes (They held the tomatoes and mushrooms for me.). The lobster had just a tiny amount of mayo on it, but not so much that it took away from the dressing. It was delicious and refreshing. I usually drink red wine, but decided to have a Blueberry Mule which was excellent (and refreshing)! My partner had a Grilled Chicken Club sandwich and our friend ordered Fried Shrimp. Both really enjoyed their dinners, too. We arrived at 6:30 on a Monday and were seated right away--we asked to be indoors because of the heat. The service was good. This is a winner! Service was excellent, which we greatly appreciated after a complete absence of service at a nearby restaurant we visited just prior to coming here. The fire tables outside are fun, and the whole place has a great ambiance. We had the lobster bisque- very delicious, rich, and heavy with chunks of lobster, and split the fried fish platter ( shrimp, haddock, clam, and scallops). We loved everything. I really was lured into trying this restaurant by being served their home made fudge out in the side walk. The candy was delicious. We sat out on the open patio which was a bit unnerving due to the fact that it slopes. It was a challenge getting out table not to wiggle. Other tables are built around large propane burners set into the table that produce a beautiful and romantic ambiance My meal started with a gazpacho. The flavors were well blended and a nice touch was a bit of sour cream in the center. My main course was the grilled chicken club sandwich. The chicken was tasty but the sandwich was not that flavorful. The bread soon became very soggy with the bottom being so thin that it absorbed all the juices of the tomatoes, thus making it impossible to eat without a knife and fork. There was also avocado that was tasteless and only added to the sogginess. Another factor that contributed to an over all negative experience was our server. She seemed in a great hurry to bring out our food. Our meals arrived before we were even half way through our soup. Balancing all the dishes on a small wiggly table wasn't easy. Our server did ask if we liked our meal. We said it was ok. Two minutes later she brings our check to our table! She never bothered to ask if we wanted any coffee or dessert! We never were even given the opportunity to see a dessert menu so I have no idea what this restaurant offers. I mentioned that I felt rushed and was dismayed about not being asked about wanting dessert and coffee. Our server never made any attempt to rectify the situation so we paid and left. Her tip reflected my displeasure and I wrote a note on the receipt as to why my tip was so low. I will not return to this restaurant. The worst! We were seated right away, but right after we placed our order a huge party came in. Not only did they forget my food.. But my son was missing half his meal. FOOD POISONING. This place is disgusting. I had the "famous" lobster role and broccoli salad and got food poisoning. I called the restaurant and the female I spoke to handed the phone to the manager telling her "this guy's an ass". I called to report an illness I received from dining at this terrible restaurant and was insulted instead. I ate ONLY the lobster role and broccoli salad I purchased here and have been laying horizontal the remainder of the day. I called to report it and was told that it "takes days" for food poisoning to develop. I'm glad the restaurant employs people with such extensive knowledge of gastrointestinal impairment. They must all be MDs. I wouldn't recommend dining at an establishment that treats its customers the way this one does. It's a direct demonstration of how little they care about the customer experience. The food the other members of my dining party received was also horrible. All the fried foods were dark brown because the restaurant uses old oil. They were heavy and sopping in grease. Thanking about dining here? Give it a pass and head to Cornerstone across the street. Should have eaten at the piano bar across the street, we visited on fourth of july weekend it was raining and the patio awning was leaky. Do not recommend especially with young kids! It took nearly 50 minutes for food to come after ordering. We have 3 children 6 and under. We asked for our kids food to come as soon as it was ready. It didn't come until 10 minutes after ours. By that time our youngest was meltdowning so I asked to take mine to go which took another 10 minutes to wrap up. As for the food, our son's grilled cheese was made with a hamburger roll of all things and not even a quality one. Our other son's hot dog also came on the same hamburger roll! My baked stuff shrimp was small shrimp (likely found in a grocer's frozen food aisle) covered in stuffing. They were not apologetic and just kept saying it was busy. Definitely not worth the money. We had a late afternoon coffee/hot chocolate stop here which was very pleasant. They have outdoor seating of adirondack chairs surrounding an outdoor chimney which was perfect in the chill afternoon. The atmosphere was just the icing on the cake. We started with coconut shrimp and fried green beans, both had great flavor. Ok we went here for lunch today. The bartender did not know how to make drinks and spent most of his time talking to other staff. Then he broke a glass trying to show off over 5he ice. He did not empty , throw out LL THE IDE JUST PICKED OUT THE PIECES AND CLOSED IT BACK UP to serve everyone SO NO DRINKS. then Our food came my partner has fish and chips and the French fries came out cold. We finally broke him away from visiting to tell him and said he would let kitchen know. He did not. Then again we had to break him away from visiting to get our check. Went for dinner with family. Service was good. Server was one of the owner's sons. I like seeing a hands on approach when the extended family work in the business. After I pointed out the error, he assured me he credited my account and then charged me the correct amount.
