The man and I came here on a Sunday afternoon. We order a cup of clam chowder to start. Really yummy. Hearty and delicious! Next came the burgers. They came out right when we finished our soup. I got the bbq burger. It was huge, and really good. WARNING, it's messy. Totally worth it. This place has a great food and great service! Will be back!

Groovy local Pub and Cafe with LIVE Music, good food, and no Cover Charge. Great Band, Chicken Enchiladas and Burgers with generous Fries on this visit. Oct 27 Alexa Wiley and the Wilderness plays for a Haloween Costume Party, with prizes. Love the Deadhead Memorabilia...i will be back. Worth a drive.

Bomb Reuben sandwich. Thick, juicy, buttery, so good.

Past by for a quick snack, ended up sharing an amazing Reuben sandwich with my lady. It was insanely thick piled high with sauerkraut and delecious pastrami. The rye bread was toasted to buttery pefection. YUM! The fries were excellent. Well seasoned and crisped perfectly. The service was fast and friendly. Good place to grab a bite to eat while on the road. Will eat there again while driving the 30.

French Dip with sautéed mushrooms and onions. Taste to die for!

Burgers are especially good, the bacon-bleu burger medium will hit the spot every time, and the garlic fries are delicious if you like garlic. If you don't like garlic, don't bother! The halibut sandwich is also lovely with nice lemony tartar for when it's Friday or when you just want something that swims. Salads are super fresh if you add one, but the portions are large enough that I can't handle burger, fries, salad. Breakfast is also great, but it's not the same "you need to go here for this" that the burgers are, though the hash browns are delightfully crispy! The burgers are worth the trip regardless of where you're going, and my boss swears by the tater tots, but those garlic fries are where it's at. Service is flawless without being intrusive, which is a hard road to hoe, but more importantly nearly every person in the joint, locals to randos, is happy to be there, and that's what a good local restaurant is. It's a place that feels good and makes you happy you ate there. Also, the decor is...well, it's what Applebee's thinks it could be. Except it's real, it's local, and the food is the product of love, not just a product.

When you have family in town for the holidays, you want to take them somewhere that feels welcoming, comfortable, and has good food and this place checked every box. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and genuinely family-friendly, not rushed or chaotic, even with how busy it can get around the holidays. It's the kind of spot where you can actually relax and enjoy your time together. The staff was on top of everything from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and clearly experienced (I overheard one say she had been working there since before one of the regulars kids were even born, 30 years I believe), they made sure drinks stayed full, orders were correct, and everyone at the table felt taken care of without being overbearing. You can tell the team communicates well and actually cares about the experience they're providing, which makes such a difference, especially when you're hosting guests and want to catch up. The food was excellent, we all had breakfast this time, it was well-prepared, and satisfying across the board. Everyone at our table left happy, full, and smiling. Ichabod's really shines as a community staple--a place that feels like home, except they do the dishes. I have lived in Scappoose for only a few years, but love this place. We have so many memories tied to this restaurant already. When our dog passed and we had no desire to cook, we picked up biscuits and gravy. To the annual catching up session I did in this photo, with some guests. Our date night with my wife. It's nice having a place you can count on to be good everytime. We'll absolutely be back, and always recommending it when people ask what's a good place to eat in Scappoose.

They are a scratch kitchen, meaning everything is prepared in their kitchen and it's noticeable. We ran into the chef and he said they make everything but "the bread and the ketchup!" For lunch, we had the meat lover's pizza (real pieces of bacon) and ceasars salad (with an actual anchovy) - both delicious. At breakfast, we got the benedict and spinach mushroom omelet that came with incredible potatoes (trying to figure out how to replicate these!) Also got a side of bacon, which was melt-in-the-mouth good. Super tasty. We only had breakfast and lunch, but we were very happy and would come back in a heartbeat. Every server was incredibly friendly and solicitous, checking in on us with Goldilocks frequency (i.e., just right). Prices were also reasonable and, if this isn't enough for you, how would you like a view of the river while you dine?!? There is a lovely patio but you don't have to sit outside to enjoy the view.

I ordered the pasta bolognese and a seasonal lemon drop, and both were genuinely the best I've ever had. The bolognese was rich and perfectly balanced, with deep, slow-cooked flavor and pasta cooked exactly right. Every bite felt thoughtful and well executed. The lemon drop was just as impressive -- bright, fresh, and not overly sweet, with a clean citrus finish that made it hard not to order another. The atmosphere strikes that ideal balance of relaxed and refined, and the service was attentive with a splash of "feels like home." Everything was clearly itemized on our bill, and there were no surprises. It's clear they care about quality and providing a complete dining experience beyond a great plate of food. Large portions, delicious food, well-made cocktails, solid service, and a unique setting compelled us to tip handsomely. It was a great experience. Wasn't here for the food, though, was here for the absolutely stunning whiskey selection and the fact that this is easily the best Old Fashioned between the Willamette and the ocean. No, really, your fancy stuffy Portland bar does not pour as good and Old Fashioned. And every time, that's the Klondike. The bartenders are awesome and friendly, the...no, sorry, man, the Old Fashioned. I gotta keep talking about it, because it's that good. (Oh, also the zero proof selection is fire. Had some egg nog concoction back around Xmas when I had to drive and you know for an 0.0 that was 100% tasty.) I don't know the magic. Their Manhattan and Brooklyn, also solid, but it's getting the perfect balance in the cocktail and it's real hard to find anything that holds a candle at twice the price. Now, is it Decibel good? Yes, actually, with the same vibe of that I don't feel weird as a blue-collar type here, nor am I surrounded by blue-collarosplayers, a big problem in Portland. So, yeah, amazing to get a snotty bar quality Old Fashioned at a welcoming place for a welcoming price. You should stop in and make sure you're not wearing socks you're too attached to because it will knock them off.
