The man and I came here on a Sunday afternoon. We order a cup of clam chowder to start. Really yummy. Hearty and delicious! Next came the burgers. They came out right when we finished our soup. We've lived in Scappoose going on seven years and we've given Rosebud our business, off and on, since moving here. We recognize that the owner is really trying in a tough economic and business time. There's no getting around the fact that restaurant ownership is hard. But, every time we go there, the experience is just that much more of a disappointment. First, you never know when the place is going to be open. Second, the quality of food has really fallen. And the place needs a good cleaning, some adequate marketing and something to make it look even a little inviting from the street. It's great that they are one of the only places in town that offers live music, but the rest of the experience falls pretty short. We wish them the best, but I'm just not sure we'll give it yet one more try. It's too bad, because it could be so much more than it is, potentially one of the better places in Scappoose. If you're just looking for a cocktail and some music, it's not a bad choice, but don't expect much more in its current condition. read more

Great place for a Big size juicy burger and great fries and fry sauce for them. Lasagna was really good and cheese was plenty, is Moms recipe and 2 slices of garlic toast. Everything was good sized but fries cooked to early sort of cold. They have a good sized bar and Oregon lottery game machines. Fun place with an old-school roadhouse vibe. Friendly staff and great music. There's a covered outdoor area and they stream all the music performances on their fb so you can wave hi to your friends to get them to come down and join you and then you can all watch the videos later. Past by for a quick snack, ended up sharing an amazing Reuben sandwich with my lady. It was insanely thick piled high with sauerkraut and delecious pastrami. The rye bread was toasted to buttery pefection. YUM! The fries were excellent. Well seasoned and crisped perfectly. The service was fast and friendly. The kitchen is pretty ok, I'll never understand why they are not twice as busy as Ichabods, which is mediocre at best, for weekend brunch hours. This is THE BEST place in town to go for late night food (or anytime food - they serve breakfast now), hands down. I've been here several times and have never been disappointed. Live music on the weekends, good service, great vibes. I bring all of my out of town guests here to eat the food, listen to great music, and mingle with the locals. The man behind the bar takes pride in his work, service, and the food coming out of the kitchen. I am a bit of a particular food person. He gave us the rundown on the pulled pork, homemade and cooked for above 10 hours! Coleslaw is mixed fresh for each order. (Great! Cause I can't stand a soggy slaw!) Homemade French fry sauce! I got the pulled pork sandwich, it was absolutely delicious even though it was a little too saucy for my taste ( but the flavor was bangin' -and also homemade), The pulled pork was a little too salty, but still great in texture and "cook" right on! The only real criticism is the buns didn't hold up... but I don't mind using a fork for a great tasting meal in a comfortable environment. The cook came out to speak with us as well as the server. Called ahead here to park overnight And buy some food for my family. My partner and I live in a rv/bus and needed a place to park. The owner over the phone said sure no problem, come inside and I'll show you where to park. Instead the owner assumed I was bringing a party bus full of people over. We never said the words bus, party, or group. The owner then became irate and belligerent towards my partner, screaming and yelling while throwing his arms in her face. It was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Also the food was horrible, it was completely unedible. The customers and employees seemed nice. read more

Love this place. They alway have some good beer on tap. Their Burgers are the best. Fries not bad. Unlike The Varsity they give you all the fry sauce, ranch, blue cheese you want without charging. What a fun time! This is the closest restaurant to Sauvie Island and we needed to get out for dinner so stopped in to see how it would be. Walked in and the local bar crowd got us involved in a bingo game before we could even order a drink. :-) So much fun! The bourbon burger is awesome and the Ruben is great and enormous. The food is excellent, most of the time. It has it's cycles between excellent and just ok. The sandwiches are usually very good while the salads and fries are variable. Sometimes the fries are very good, hot and crisp and other times they are just warm and limp covered in warm grease. Often the cooks and servers kids are running around and disrupting diners. As long as you get there during peak hours and not during off-peak hours. read more

Definitely not the best burger in town. It tasted like a frozen Sysco patty with no seasoning. They really should change their sign out front. To even be considered for a great burger, it should be hand formed and seasoned. I also think that the good reviews on here are mostly put up by employees or friends. We have been meaning to try this place since it re-opened but just never got around to it until the other night. It is not the most appealing looking place and can be a bit difficult to get in and out of the place at certain times because of the traffic on Hwy. 30 but you can make it if you want to. Not sure you would want to. The place has a weird layout and you can tell that the bar is where they make their money. It is much larger than the restaurant area. The place seemed kind of dirty and dingy, not enough to make me leave but did not feel overly comfortable about it. The 2 ladies who waited on us were friendly and fairly attentive but the place could use a dress code. Of course the reason to go to a restaurant is for the food and thats what will keep us away in the future. I had a burger and my wife had a french dip neither was very good. The burger was way over cooked and actually was crunchy on one edge, the only flavor was burned meat. My wifes French dip was way over cooked meat with mostly gristle and fat in it, the Au Jus was too salty. I will say this about the food the fries were pretty good and came in a large portion. Normally I would wait until 2 or 3 times before I do a review but that isn't going to happen for this place. read more

Stopped in here last night after warren country inn was closed an hour before promised on a Friday night, and I was really happy they were! Food was great, service was quick and friendly, drinks were perfect, and they had live music! I was pleasantly surprised by this place and it was really reasonably priced. Love the food here! However there service is a 50/50. Went to the rosebud this evening, sat down no one said a word to us. We continued to wait for service for about 10 minutes, no one came to greet us or ask us if we wanted to waters. So we left, because the 4-5 people at the bar were more important than us and the other family waiting for service. read more

The menu is a bit limited but be sure to check the "specials" board on your way in. They have a wonderful selection of specials. Six of us had dinner there last night. The burgers (including the chicken burger) were great, the vegetable soup was excellent and the service was good. The new open floor plan looks great. We'll definitely be back. read more

The sign said "Best Burgers In Town"... Nothing even close to the best. The bun was soggy and not toasted. The meat had a strange taste. I ate 3 bites of my cheese burger and couldn't stomach anymore. The fries were soggy too. The waitress was friendly and nice...But The live music was horrendous. I won't ever go back. read more
