After seeing awesome pictures of the drink settings here, I wanted to check this place out myself. The place is very open and seems to share a space with a children's play area called "Chirp" (or maybe they're the same company? Rosebud is pretty awesome - it works with the community and trains fosters/homeless youth to work in the coffee business. The interior aesthetics are on point, and the staff was very friendly. A good place to study and there is wifi available. We got a Latte and a Chai Latte. Both were beautifully presented, especially the Chai, which was on a wooden palette with a beaker of extra chai on the side. However, the taste of the chai was a little too milky and lacking in chai flavor. The regular Latte was great though, including the standard nice latte art. They have a food menu here too, though we didn't try it. Parking can be found on the street in front and I believe I saw a sign the mentioned there may be additional parking in the back too. Very lackluster ambiance and experience. Customer service was okay. To say I was so disappointed in my matcha latte was an understatement. The moment my husband bought me my drink, I said, "Looks weak," and it was. It lacked the proper dark forest green color of a solid matcha drink. Secondly, it wasn't even hot. It just tasted strange and I couldn't bring myself to finish even half of it, so I just left it. Such a waste. The tables were dirty and dusty. Part of it was the fact that thoughtless customers were not cleaning up after themselves- tables were stained, there were crumbs, used plates and cups just sitting there. Like really, how hard is it to swoop the food remnants off and walk your stuff over to the corner where the rest of the dirty dishware was being collected? The whole shop looked unkempt. They had plants sitting above the tables on a wooden structure hanging from the ceiling that they weren't watering. They were anywhere from yellow and wilted to just brown, which was ironic considering the pictures and posters below were all about taking care of the planet. My husband liked his cold brew with lavender syrup. We also got a Strawberry Almond Crossiant and Curry Puff. The former was boring, the latter was a little on the salty side. +1 for the fact that they tried to be Earth friendly with metal drinking cups and silverware. Rosebud is a new commonly heard word around our household. We LOVE it! We've been coming for a while now, and each experience has been excellent. They have street parking in front of the store, on the west side of the store, and a parking lot in the back with ample parking. Never had a problem finding parking here, regardless of day or time. I'm a pretty simple person, so I will usually opt for a cold brew or a pour over coffee when I'm there. The pastries are delicious, and sometimes we even score day old pastries which are sold at a reduced price! More importantly, this company empowers homeless and transitional-aged youth. YES, YES, YES. As a social worker, I love to see this and will support businesses like this just for the sake of their mission. They are community oriented also, and hold events at night for a variety of purposes. They have also recently integrated work stations within the coffee shop allowing people to come and work in more of an office space. Can't say enough good things about Rosebud, but I'm glad I live close enough to continue coming here! read more

Wow, this coffee shop is HUGEEEEE. I was quite surprised when I walked in to see how spacious it was. I visited in the evening, an hour before it closed, and so it was pretty empty which made me feel like it was even larger than it already was. Enough tables to seat any size of groups. With kids? It's fine too! Theres an area in the back dedicated just for kids with cushioned floor. Want to study? Medium size tables with the divider are available for no interruption from the one sitting across from you. Anyone can come to Rosebud to enjoy having cup of coffee, chatting, and even studying. My brother got an Iced Americano and he said it was great like better than Starbucks. I cannot take a vote since I do not drink coffee at all. My Iced Blueberry Hibiscus Tea was pretty strong in flavor which was sort of similar to Passion Tea from Starbucks and was good for me. My mom and my brother's GF each got Hot Americano and Cappuccino and both enjoyed much. Theres many paintings hanging on the wall with the title of the art piece and the price. Yes, you can buy it. Price ranging from as low as $30 to $600 is what I saw. There can be more. I did NOT check every single one of them. Reminded me of Sencha in Madison, WI. They also sell paintings by students there at their premise. The girl working was nice though I know she could have been annoyed since we came only an hour before the closing time. I've quite possibly found my favorite place to work and drink coffee. It's almost as if I had so slay a hundred dragons before I found my prince- (n the form of a coffee shop.) It's spacious, has plenty of different types of seating (solo, group, even designated coworking spaces...more on that in a bit) with great wifi! Not sure how many outlets they actually have. I was lucky enough to sit at a seat close to a wall outlet so I had plenty of juice. The coffee they had was from Demitasse. This is VERY good coffee, imo. Their drip was also "on point". What I almost couldn't believe was that you can get your first refill...for free. The same great coffee...a second cup...for free. Uhh...yes, please! I'd love to try other drinks as well because they seem to have a variety of delicious caffeine drinks! I also ordered a Veggie sandwich. It was very simple: an open face toast with scrambled eggs and mushrooms...topped with arugula and simple dressing. Easy to make, and it was still pretty good! Now let me elaborate on the coworking seating that I mentioned earlier. If I'm not mistaken, if you could claim/reserve a coworking table if you pay $12 (or $10 during their Summer Special) upfront. When you've reserved this spot, you have access to their printer, locker, unlimited wifi, & drip coffee with an additional 10% discount on orders. I think this is amazing, and if I had the privilege to work from home, you bet I'll be here all the time! We were looking for some coffee one Saturday morning in Pasadena and wanted to try something new. We found this place because of the high yelp rating. The place was still kind of empty. A few tables on one side and a few more in this adjacent room where there was a kids karaoke it felt like a place that couldn't just sell coffee and had to have kid parties too. We didn't know about this place as we thought it was coffee and breakfast stuff. First, the coffee was ok. We got two drinks: a mocha and a regular coffee. If I compare them to one of the large coffee chains, I wold prefer the coffee chains. Sorry to say but it was just average. The mocha was kind of bitter. Second, they didn't have anything but a few coffee drinks. You would think they would have a selection of pastries or some food items but there were only a glass case with like a bread or something I can't quite remember. This place is about halfway there. It's sparsely furnished, which is confusing to me. We had no options to sit. In their defense, one of the two employees was slightly embarrassed and took an empty table with no chairs and dragged it to one of the vast, empty expanses so we could sit down. Not before I was made to feel really petty for asking about sitting in one of the many empty reserved tables. This interaction was with a female employee that said, well, sorry, I guess there is nowhere to sit... The coffee is adequate. It seems like they got halfway through the build out and then decided to paint a bunch of cardboard and then stop. They could put in another 10 tables in their empty spaces, easily. I saw the panini sandwiches they served, and I was happy I've already had lunch. This place seems like a nice idea but their delivery is unfocused and slightly unfinished. Didn't have a great experience here, but maybe it was just the day and time I came. When I got to the cash register, I expected to be greeted warmly and welcomed. I stood there for what felt like an eternity, and not a single person acknowledged me. There were people making coffee, but they didn't take a second to look up or let me know they would be right with me. Finally, the cashier mumbled and asked what I wanted. I ordered the Chai Latte. The very unfriendly cashier took my credit card and barely made eye contact or said a word of thanks. While my drink was being made, I looked for a table to sit at with an outlet. There were plenty of tables, which was a plus. It took me 15 minutes to get my drink. I know that places get backed up, so it's fine. But I did expect my latte to be amazing (given the $5 price tag and long wait). The Chai Latte was so bland... I realized after the fact that other customers on Yelp also felt the same way about the Chai Latte. They were right. Additionally, they have a kids corner (they share a space with Chirp), so while I was trying to get work done, there were loud screams from kids every 5 seconds which I could hear through my headphones, making for a very unpleasant work environment. Concrete floors, tons of tables, high ceilings, a small stage, a children's play corner and reasonably priced drinks invite an eclectic mix of college students and families. However... the kids today, and I say this as a single dad, their happy energy runs a bit on the wild side. Cracking giant legos down hard on the floor. Dragging chairs away from their friends and abandoning them in the middle of the room. High pierced cries echo as the mother wrangles one back to the group. I imagine these distractions could be the exception. I bet the time of day plays a role in the level of kid-ness. Free street parking is abundant and lots of other shops within walking distance. read more

Perfect place to get work done. They even have a printer for guests to use, just ask the barista to have you get set up. Tables are nicely spaced out, and there is also large parking in the back. There may be limited seating if you come during a busy time like in the afternoon or early evening, but there are tables on the outdoor patio in the back at the parking. Service was also amazing. Very friendly baristas! I found out that they are a business with a mission to empower at risk youth in Pasadena. Whether it is by providing mentoring or employment to at-risk youth, sponsoring community events, or by partnering with coffee roasters and food caterers from like minded businesses with a social cause, Rosebud strives to make an impact among the youth in their community. It's the Drew "Berry " More with three types of berries and lime flavored syrup that can be made into a tonic or latte. Another drink that I definitely had to try was the Golden milk latte which if you like a robust turmeric taste this is worth the try. Besides the drinks they also have sandwiches wraps and salads to pair up with your liquid concoction. The interior is well dressed with canvases and various artwork pieces. The space is clean and wide open with plenty of room for large groups. Service was good and they're really efficient when it comes to getting the orders out. There's a small lot around the corner for parking or you can just gamble and see if there's availability in the front. I hate leaving a review like this. I have loved Rosebud for many years for their coffee, their ambience and their incredible mission. I hadn't been back since Covid and was excited to return. I loved that they were sharing their location now with a brewery. The unfortunate result of it, though, is that there is limited indoor seating and the seats were primarily taken up by people on their computers. The saddest part though was getting a cappuccino that just wasn't drinkable. The foam was over-aerated with large bubbles, lacking the silkiness that I look forward to in a cappuccino. The espresso tasted bitter and dry. I am not sure what changed so drastically. Rosebud was a reliably exceptional cup of coffee. I hope that this was a one off. read more

Rosebud has some of the best coffee and pastries around. I ordered the lavender latte with pistachio milk and the strawberry almond croissant. This was my first time trying pistachio milk, and it definitely makes the drink creamier than any other milk alternatives that I've tried. The interior was really minimalistic, with one of the walls covered with postcards made by students from Pasadena USD. I love that Rosebud partners with local organizations in the Pasadena community to provide programs for local youth. The shop does appear to be under construction though, with one wall of the shop covered in plastic sheeting. Overall, I'd love to come here again, especially to try their cookies which they only sell on the weekend. read more

It proved to be a good choice. The coffee shop is spacious, and has a good amount of natural light coming in. There is some parking at the front of the shop, and a parking lot at the rear. I found parking to be no problem in the few times I frequented this shop. They have a good selection of coffee, of which I went with an iced latte. The latte was well made, and packed the caffeine punch that I was looking for. An added bonus is that they have food made here. There is a chef that cooks in the name if philanthropy, and he made me the great sandwiches featured in my uploaded photos. The folks here are friendly, they always took care of me. I'm stuck between 3 and 4 stars. I really like how there is free parking in the back, which is rare for a coffee shop in Pasadena! No need to drive around trying to fight for a spot here! Also, the interior is very roomy and has lots of natural lighting. A great ambiance to study and do work. The prices are a big pricey though. I wanted a matcha latte, but it came out to be $6.50, which is a bit on the higher end. It didn't taste that great either, not sure what matcha they use. My fried got a chai latte and she said it just tasted like milk, with barely any chai. For someone like me that generally frequents coffee shops to do work/study while at the same time indulge in great tasting coffee and a comfortable atmosphere, Rosebud is hard to top. Inside is wealth of open space, natural lighting and, most importantly, electrical outlets! The walls are adorned with progressive art pieces while soft, quiet, contemporary music floats through the air. The staff is well-trained, friendly and always helpful.
