Hey all....again, we went back for our MUST HAVE breakfast to sample more of the wonderful food at Rosebuds...Mary greeted us like we were family returning home from our journey Food once again was incredible...we are total biscuit and gravy fans....we were unable to try this wonderful item from their menu on our previous visit, and Mary made good on the promise we'd be happy with the item when we return. Their gravy is vegetarian .... and.... OMG....bar none, the excellent gravy bar none. "I" make my bacon/sausage gravy from total scratch at home, and we are picky picky when it comes to the flavor our our milk gravy....if you weren't told there was no meat of any kind in it, you'd not know! Plus, if you must have meat with it, just order a side of any they offer on the menu...goodness.....the biscuits we'd had before so knew they rocked...light, fluffy, yummmmmy..... when we were able to have the gravy along with it...have mercy....thought if this was our last meal ever, we'd die happy campers !!! A must when you go in, I promise, and of course, don't forget the "crack sauce" to go with you potato's etc...my my.... The same day we'd left to visit friends we knew down the street and mentioned Rosebuds....mind you, we talked to 3 different people, separately on our visit, when each of them knew we'd be there, individually asked if we'd had the Pork Belly Sandwich..... We had JUST read that on the menu for brunch, and thought cool, we've never had before, so next visit we'll try it.....and BAM, here these 3 peeps come right out with the same item in question from Rosebuds said it's the best thing they've ever eaten, along with Mary's home made jam......unsolicited by anyone....so of course our next meal there, that is an item on our must list.... We were staying in the area and decided to have breakfast on our last day in the area. The food was very good. Everything looked great and home made. The breakfast potatoes were a smashed reds and they were cooked perfectly. The compote on my French toast was yummy. The biggest bonus was the unexpected sensitivity and care they have for the un-housed community. They offer a few choice breakfast offerings for those in need. Absolute joke of food and pricing. Breakfast burrito was no bigger than my iPhone and asked for a large orange that was $18!! Because it was "fresh squeezed" I literally saw them fill up the plastic container in the back with store bought OJ. Burrito tasted ok but was gone in 4 bites. Never again and should be ashamed for charging 18$ for an orange juice with NO alcohol. read more

This place is majestic! We absolutely LOVED everything about this restaurant. We stopped in as a family and loved the atmosphere and the New Orleans inspired ambience. We received a warm greeting, excellent customer service and felt welcomed coming in. I loved seeing all the fundraising and charity that they do to help with food security in the community. That's nice to see! We are huge lovers of beignets and just wow! extremely delightful and delicious yummy pillows of fluffy chewy goodness. Reminded me of New Orleans. Also tried the coffee and it was a damn good cup of caramel espresso! Would definitely recommend and go back to try more. read more

We were in town for a party and stopped in for breakfast. The most amazing breakfast we've had in a very long time. We've already talked about driving the two hours here just to eat here. Was in Jackson one weekend morning and really wanted to find a good brunch spot. Stopped into Rosebuds Cafe and saw that it was popping and we knew that we found the space. I was first attached to the vibe and decor, this was obviously an LGBT friendly establishment. You order your food at the counter and seating is first come first serve. It was pretty busy when we arrived but we were lucky to grab the last table available. The food all in all was pretty good and they offered some gluten free items, including gluten free buns for their breakfast sandwiches and gluten free brownies! We.alao had love music during our meal and the staff were super friendly and accommodating! They were excited to have us done with them and gave us recommendations for local things to do. read more

Definitely a wonderful little cafe a super cozy atmosphere. We found it interesting that you look at the menu, which is totally delightful,, order at the front counter pay for your meal including tip, and then you're seated and your meal is brought to you. Great service, the beignets were light and fluffy! The good being delivered looked fabulous! Several of the persons working there chatted with persons at the table ... I really wish that one would have stopped to ask us, because the though presentation was wonderful, the studs were great! But the Bearnaise sauce was flavorless, the salmon was extremely salty and they were served barely warm . My husband ate his only because he was hungry... I barely ate the eggs and toast... perfect farm to fork, so many options for vegan. came here yesterday with a friend, and was told we could have breakfast, brunch or lunch menu! so much food, we both took half home!. service wonderful. we stayed and chatted for long time. As a local, I often pop in for a vegan latte and say hi to the owners, staff and cooks. Love how they support the homeless with food and the small change makes a big difference. The ambiance is great, with local art on the walls and music and seasonal decor .... as we left, my friend stopped for fresh baked bread to go! We went for brunch and I was talking very low to my husband about my meal and yes some critiquing and the owner was eavesdropping on our private conversation. Right after we got our meal she walked up to us and said I see you don't like your meal ( sarcastic tone ) so it is on me and I said you were eavesdropping and she just disappeared so we got up and walked out. By the way it was not bad food just bad owner. One of favorite breakfast places and one of the few spots in the area to get vegan meals. Ambiance is quirky, featuring local art on the walls and beautiful warm colors on the walls. The menu is varied and always filled with fresh local produce. If you're lucky to be visiting in a Sunday, their brunch with fresh squeezed mimosas can't be beat. My family and I were looking for a local breakfast spot while visiting Jackson and we stumbled upon this little gem. We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated immediately. The menu did not disappoint either. Some of our favorites were the Old Fashioned Breakfast (I'm coming back for the biscuits and gravy that come with it), the beignets (the one with the strawberry and mango sauce was so yummy) and the crispy potatoes (so savory). And best of all, all of the servers were so nice. One of the owners noticed that my parents were Deaf and used his amazing sign language skills to communicate with us, taking our orders in ASL like a pro... made us feel right at home. Came on. Sunday. Ordered a simple lunch for two. After 50 minutes and no food we asked and was told we are next, 10 more minutes. We said no thanks give us a refund. They said okay. Charged us for two black coffees, kept the tip on the full order and kept the tax on the full order. In all my time on Yelp this is the worst experience I have ever had. This place might have the best food in Amador county. I love that when you walk in the place feels like someone's home. The ambiance is warm, welcoming and you're always greeted with a smile. Once you've chosen a dish from the menu (which is always a very hard choice as everything looks so so so good) you'll place your order at the counter and have a seat wherever you please! The food comes out in a timely manner and it always tastes freshly made. It's always tempting to lick the plate just to get ever last bit on your plate. And the final bit is that once you're done, you can just get up and leave! No waiting around for the bill or waving down one of the very nice staff members. I would personally recommend the beignets to start (which are like little pillows of magic) and the Shrimp&Grits. I love it here! I'm always so excited whenever we go. This place was a perfect little spot. The food was different, in a very good way! The lady at the front register was amazingly helpful and so sweet! The restaurant was clean and well decorated. I loved the whole idea of the restaurant! I'm so glad we stopped. I had the egg sandwich with bacon with flat bread. The bread was spongy, and so yummy delicious!! Had so much yummy bacon and cheese. So glad we stopped after a weekend camping!! I wish I would have took a picture. Oh wait the yummy smashed and fried red potatoe I believe. So yummy and crispy. A group of us stopped by after spending a few days at the Kirkwood Resort hiking and visiting the Woods and Round Top Lakes. We all had brunch and my House or Chefs Eggs Benedict was delicious and the large serving of beignets with the mango and raspberry dipping sauces were amazing...not one left!!! Just want to tell you though that if it is your first time to go there, and you forgot your eyeglasses or for some reason you can't read small prints.. make sure you have your phone with you. Take a picture of the menu, then order what you want. My wife and shared the Keli Benedict and i don't remember the name of this dessert, but it is to die for. It is very good, specially the mango sauce. We might be bias since we come here almost every other month, but we never get tired of the food, ambiance and the service. I came to Rosebud's Cafe for brunch before visiting Daffodil Hill. I had this spot bookmarked from my friend's wedding in Plymouth months prior. Cute little cafe with friendly staff, in the heart of downtown Jackson. I sat in the cafe at the window. I ordered a side order of beignets and their classic eggs Benedict with the side of spuds. The beignets were a little too dense and over-cooked for my liking (I consider myself a beignet connoisseur). They weren't as light and fluffy as I'd like (or they should be). The eggs Benedict was tasty - a hefty portion. They served it with biscuits as opposed to English muffins but I didn't mind. I wasn't a fan of the spuds as a side - they were literally small baked potatoes just served as a side. I could have done without them. All in all, a decent little cafe to grab a bite to eat while in the foothills wine tasting or what not. read more
