We hopped into this place for a quick brunch on one of our travels in Amador County. Food is excellent, service is warm and welcoming. Vibe is contemporary (even reflective for some that catch the significance of the historical site) for an eatery in the middle of so much history and one that is surrounded by what seems like a hundred antique shops. With few options nearby, we returned for breakfast the next day and the place did not disappoint. It is a treat to run into a family-run business like this one. The Beignets are awesome & must try as are their sandos (learned a new term!). Breakfast potatoes are execptional. Well Mary P read your review you gave me , Very interesting , and yes I have worked in many Cafe and restaurants and have tried several Restaurants in Jackson , Ca But I have never been told I should go to another place . If you waitress or waiter had stopped at our table to see if everything was alright I wouldn't have made these comments but they didn't and I this was the problem. Being a Waitress for many years the customer is wright and I can see how you would want the customer to pay ahead no one likes to have a dine and dash. But you never know who you might be serving. I do not drink coffee my Husband does. You place is cute and different and maybe when we are in Jackson I will give it another try. read more

Good food and I always appreciate a place with an abundance of vegan options! However, the wait for our food was so long, and based on my observation that there were not many customers ahead of us, we had to assume they forgot to place our order until we asked when it would be out. We made it a point to politely mention to the cashier that our food took too long to come out and his reply was snarky and passive aggressive. It doesn't matter how good the food is. When business establishments don't treat customers with respect, especially when the customers themselves are being respectful, I decide to not come back. It's too bad because I am a loyal return customer to places that deserve my business. This could have been easily rectified in a dignified and respectful manner, but the person representing the business did not handle it well. Pass on this place if you would like to eat when your hungry and be treated like a person of value. read more

Food was delicious but the beignets were drowned in sweet syrup. In New Orleans the beignet is a square piece of dough, fried and covered with powdered sugar. They are served in orders of three. That is the only thing that qualifes them to be an actual Beignet. There was not one of the beignets offered here without the addition of that extra sugery syrup. read more

Wow - great lunch. I had a steak and grilled cheese sandwich and my wife had the pork belly sandwich. Both were very good hand crafted sandwiches. I had a side of a cup of beer cheese soup that was also amazing. We found Rosebud's Cafe from Yelp reviews and it was so good. We had the Beignets and Pesto Steak Hash. It was delicious! The Beignets were definitely killer Beignets. Love the history of Rosebud's. Ty was telling us that the family has owned Rosebud's for 30 years. They have family pictures around the cafe. They said all the bakery items are made right there. Coffee and Chai drinks are great too. Ty is so friendly too. We will be back! read more

What a treat! Started our day with a nice breakfast at this charming restaurant and it was the highlight of our trip. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The decor is unique and colorful. Food was amazing, started with the beignets and mango sauce and followed by the salmon eggs Benedict, tri tip with eggs and potatoes and fresh orange juice. Portions were just right! We drove up to Jackson for the day. I yelped restaurants. We decided to go to Rosebud Cafe based on Yelps reviews. This place has a great atmosphere, plays calming music over the speaker. The folks here are friendly and like to chat. They make all their bread from scratch. They have cookies and pastries We had the Old School Breakfast with a side of spuds. The biscuits and gravy are home made and delicious. My husband especially likes the spuds. Little red potatoes baked smashed and fried. We didn't need salt or pepper for anything. Friendly staff and a good selection of food items for vegan and vegetarians. We were greeted well and the order was taken and we got seated. The food took slightly longer to arrive than what it should. To our surprise, the portions were huge. I wish I warned of the size of the portions when I was ordering so I would've ordered the right quantities for 2 people. The place is pricey for a small town restaurant and felt like the bay area prices. We ordered falafel sandwich, a falafel plate and an omelette. The omelette was done very well with potatoes. But the falafel in both the sandwich and in the falafel was under cooked. So both my son and myself couldnt eat the falafel in our meals. When we pointed this out to the staff they simply told they will not be able to take it back to the kitchen and neither did they bother to take it do a refund or apologize. I was simply told thats the consistency the falafel comes. Well in that case do not offer falafel in your menu bc it sure needed better skills to cook read more

Came here with my family to enjoy a nice breakfast and order their infamous beignets. Last time I was here they had the raspberry sauce on the side and they were delicious. When they were brought out this time they had mango and raspberry sauce drizzled all over them, this is not what I had in mind at all. We let a server know that we didn't know that's how they came, and she offered to have them remade, we said yes. I then ordered a breakfast burrito with strictly just eggs, sausage, potatoes, and salsa verde. It came with cheese on it...( i don't eat cheese). I asked the server if i accidentally ordered cheese on it and she said no so i asked why it was on there and she said " oh well i figured you would want it on there because that's typically what comes on a breakfast burrito" and i said " no I didn't order it". When the new beignets were brought out, i can't even say they looked like beignets, they were overcooked, they weren't even the size of the normal ones, it looked like someone squeezed the dough in their hands and tore it up and just fried it. I was very disappointed because this was not what I had in mind at all. For 3 people it was also 90 dollars, absolutely ridiculous. Chill vibes and LGBTQ friendly safe space. ‍ we ordered the the iced spicy mx mocha, iced latte, falafel plate, children's French toast, children's grilled cheese & lemon cookies. Vegetarian friendly menu with a couple of vegan options. We were really happy to see the pride decorations especially in a small town. Great first breakfast of 2022!! Trust the outstanding ratings here they are real!! Not cheap but totally worth the price for the food!! Beignetes - best I've had outside of New Orleans! Seriously! Served with fruit garnish. Pancakes - fluffy, light, and 2 large served with syrup or peanut butter. Sandwich - egg, bacon, and cheese on a homemade English muffin. Soooooo good!! Comfort food with a small red potato on the side. Coffee hot and life changing as it should be. Service was friendly, timely, and the chef - knows how to feed foodies!! Well done!! I dont understand the 4 star rating. Eggs and pancakes were cold. The bacon was very good. An average overpriced breakfast.

I had really high expectations. Farm to Fork and 4.5 stars on Yelp, how could we go wrong? We walked in and there was another couple at the counter placing their order. While we waited in line, the young man in the tie-dyed shirt decided he needed to show them his art that was in the next room. We patiently waited for him to return. When he returned, he said, "I need to see if I have a table available". The server next to him said there was one available, but he walked away without listening to her and went to check on his own. When he returned, he said, there was only a six-person table. He then asked the server if he should break that up into separate tables. She said "Yes, as there were several more couples behind them". But again, he didn't wait for her answer and walked away. He then went into the kitchen to talk to people in the back. He came out with a plate of food for a table and then returned almost to us but stopped halfway up the counter to begin pouring wine and beer for another table. The server asked if she could do that and he said yes. He returned the PoS, asked us what we wanted, and we placed our orders. We ordered a burger with potatoes and the Monte Christo with a green salad, and two glasses of wine. He asked if we wanted beignets with our order (which we thought was odd), which we declined. We then sat in the window seats and the server brought out our wines. We then waited for about 40 minutes for our sandwiches. The burger: The bun was stale and the burger was maybe a ¼" in thickness. Possibly it was grass-fed or something, but the burger to bun ratio was way off. The smashed potatoes were just OK. The Monte Christo: The salad was the best part of the plate. The two slices of bread were very thick. There was a small amount of bacon that wasn't quite rock solid, but was overcooked. The caramelized onions were still crunchy. We don't like to make scenes in restaurants and with a 40-minute turnaround time on sandwich orders, we weren't going to send anything back. We ate about half of our plates and left. Believe me, we understand how trying things are in these COVID times and how difficult it is to find the right staff for front- and back-of-the-house positions. As our dining choices in Jackson are so limited, I'm writing this in hopes that you can educate your staff on a few points so that they can improve: 1. Make the customer feel welcome and get the order in ASAP. Don't leave us standing at the counter as you wander around the restaurant doing tasks others could be doing. 2. We're here to eat. Don't worry about selling art unless it is a slow period and there is no one in line. 3. Make sure the dish is designed properly. Thick slabs of bread with next to nothing in the middle isn't good (nor is thick slabs in the middle with thin bread that falls apart). It's all about balance. 4. Once the plate is designed right, execute. Make sure that the burger isn't overcooked and the onions aren't undercooked. read more

Listen up, folks! Hear ye, hear ye! I grew up in Amador County and had gone to Rosebud's once or twice when it was more of a diner/cafe style with Scotty dogs everywhere. It was good. Good food, good atmosphere. But now? Wow. Hold on to your hats, because your taste buds are going to explode causing you to rocket off of your chair onto the floor. First off, the quality is amazing. We're talking farm fresh here people! I couldn't believe the high quality of ingredients. Next, is the atmosphere. It's super down to earth and chill. It's like a little cafe out of San Francisco in the 60s. There's a relaxed, hippie vibe goin on that I totally dig. And... get this... some of the tables... the real fancy looking ones.. were made by the owner herself! What!? Far out! Finally, the taste. The food tastes amazing! They have a big variety to choose from and it will not leave you wanting. I have had the full breakfast which was awesome. But what really surprised me were these potatoes. Holy Moly and Good Golly Miss Molly! They are super addicting with so much flavor. I went today and had the Salmon Benedict. And surprise surprise (not really though), I was floored. The highest quality and fresh, bold flavors. Seriously, I haven't yelped that much, but I am awarding Rosebud's five out of five stars! This is probably one of the BEST restaurants in all of Amador. Hands down. If you want an exciting new experience and you're super pumped to get your restaurant experience on after staying inside for what seemed like years... then this is the place for you! read more

I grew up in Amador County and haven't been back in 20+ years. Stumbled upon this place while looking for some lunch. I am glad I did. Living in the Bay Area I am use to all of the lgbtq+ love and support but seeing this in Amador County just hits differently. Along with everyone being accepted and welcomed no matter who they are is so wonderful! But, on to the food.. I had the pesto steak hash and omg I will be thinking about this meal for a while. It was so fresh and the steak was cooked perfectly. My friend and I split the beignets and they were delicious sweet start to our day. I highly recommend freshly squeezed mimosas also! Oh how I wish this place was in my town! The owner greeted us with a, "Hello! Sit wherever you like!" The town is old and charming...as is the building of this restaurant. They served water with strawberries floating in the pitcher for just a hint if refreshing flavor. The coffee was terrific too. I ordered the challa french toast with fresh berries and lovely cream. It was served with greens and a balsalmic dressing. I wish the bread was a bit more crisp and would have preferred a meat instead of salad, but the flavor was delicious. I split this with my husband who had an amazing steak burrito with delightful pickled onion and jalapeno on top! The steak was tender and tasty. They were all out of any benedicts, which is what we had hoped to order, but we will be back next time in hopes of trying a bennie. read more
