Unhappy with our breakfast. The menu had barely anything on it. My food was fine and tasted okay but it just was something I could've made at home. I was hoping to get a skillet or something like that but they didn't have any of that. I feel like I didn't get much food either. I asked for 1 pancake on the side but they don't have pancakes either so they gave me a waffle. When I got the bill and saw the 1 normal sized waffle was $10 I almost had a heart attack, I felt ripped off. Didn't have powder sugar or anything on it to spice it up either. the food is not bad many choices but service is either non-existent or over bearing . first time I was here I could not get my coffee refilled. the second time I left before I could ordered The waitress was overly helpful. I asked about a toast item and she then started to go over what I could create as a meal. I told her I would find something on the menu she gave me but she would not go away. She kept talking and telling me what I can order when I am perfectly capable of reading the menu. I wanted a minute to myself to look it over. Since she would not leave, I did.. However, the menu is on the slimmer side and they don't offer many traditional options (no pancakes??) My initial visit was great. Five stars all around but every subsequent visit has had issues. I received dirty silverware twice in a row. The lady manager doesn't seem to put in half the effort as the guy. The waitresses too are hit or miss. The one consistent high note was the food and coffee. Never a bad cook. I don't care for the steak crepe but I think that's a recipe issue. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. There were some other good flavors there as well- put together however, not so pleasant. It looks like a mess too. If you're a purist I'd suggest this requesting the sauce on the side for some dishes. One unforgivable issue is their complaint response. After a particularly disappointing visit I went to the website to voice my concerns. My response was an automated email apologizing for my dissatisfaction in a very generalized way that left me even more unhappy. Sadly I cannot recommend this business. Very good overall. Attitude and atmosphere were pleasant. My waitress was very nice. I was seated immediately. The menu is a good size. My food came in a timely manner. The cook on my steak and my eggs was very good. The weak link for me was seasoning. There was no seasoning on either protein. It felt like the cook was hiding behind the sauce for flavor regarding the steak. They used to offer flavored creamers but apparently not any longer. They also can offer a to go cup of coffee but you have to ask your server. I would recommend this establishment. The food is after all cooked properly. Brand new little diner that just recently opened. Owned by the same folks that own Hamburgerseria and Cut 158. Came in for lunch on a Monday and the place was packed! Server came over right away and brought waters. Coffee is by Lavazza and is amazing! Lots of great beverages to pick from. Menu focuses mainly on breakfast items but also a few lunch items as well. This morning I went with a friend for breakfast. I ordered the steak Benedict. Eggs were small and there was an odd sweet taste to either the sauce or the onions and mushrooms. My friend ordered a dish with scrambled eggs, potatoes and avocado. It came with some kind of greens which were just plain. She had to ask for some kind of dressing. The eggs were dry and over cooked and she didn't like the potatoes at all. At the beginning we had to wait for the coffee which was $3.50 a cup! Neither of us felt well shortly after eating. Prices are high. There are many other breakfast/lunch restaurants and we will not be returning to this one. read more

Delicious food! Many options to choose from and we will definitely be back for more. The cafe reminded us lightly of our experience in Germany which was fun. We ordered our coffees first, an iced London fog & a hot oat milk mocha. The sizes were smaller than expected and the London fog was lightly brewed. Overall the drinks were fine. For our meals we ordered the Cuban with fries, and the French breakfast/ croque madame, we also shared a turtle cheese cake crepe. The Cuban was good & very much enjoyed! The fries were perfectly hot and delicious. The croque madame was delicious as well, they put theirs on an open faced crossaint with ham & Brie. I had my egg poached and it was perfectly cooked. I do wish they had added more cheese/ gruyere & in the past I've had bechamel sauce. For the price a little side of potatoes or salad would have been nice too. The service was quick and kind during the brunch rush. The ambiance was fresh and bright. The cafe was a bit loud with a large party in the corner but when they left the noise level went down as well. For just opening I would say this is the new talk of the town as far as breakfast places go in the Joliet area. The large menu allows for everyone to have something they'll enjoy. I am a steak lover and so the steak and eggs caught my eye. The steak was an amazing cut of meat and cooked to perfection. The mocktails are a must to try, I loved the strawberry fields and the starburst. I've also been able to try the savory crepes which are a great alternative when debating between breakfast or lunch. The wife and I had a day to ourselves while the kids were in school. Looked for a place to have breakfast. This place is just around the corner. Everything inside looks newly done, but it had an old diner feel to it. We ordered the Portuguese and Norwegian breakfasts with iced coffee. Portions were more than generous and looked amazing. Instead I received a flat thin pancake filled with lunch meat and so much sharp Asiago I needed syrup to balance it.
