Dr Robert Deutch is brilliant. I've now had my permanent dentures for 10 months. I couldn't be pleased more. Yes, it's pricey, but so worth it. I can now eat and chew ANYTHING, even ice cubes. Let me first start by saying that I hate to leave a bad review, but this dentist left a bad taste in my mouth, literally. I originally made an appointment for a root canal. I KNEW I needed a root canal. However, he convinced me that I only needed a filling but that I "might" eventually need a root canal. Less than 2 weeks later my tooth starts throbbing. I am away and cannot make it in for an appointment for another week soI just buy some Orajel and pop some Tylenol. The next morning I wake up with a huge bump on my gum near the tooth and 102 degree fever. It doesn't take a genius to realize that I have an infection. I can't even open my mouth wide enough to chew food on the other side. On the plus side I did lose 3 pounds in 3 days of being unable to open my mouth wide enough to chew solid food. The doctor came highly recommended and I am extremely disappointed and terrified at the damaged he may have caused. read more

Didn't feel right from the beginning. My crown felt rough, the handiwork/ handcraft didn't feel right, and it fell off and chipped a couple months later. I've had a few routine cleanings/check-ups with the younger Dr. Deutch, and I have nothing but good things to say about him: he's professional, friendly, and, as far as I can tell, competent. His dental hygienists are something else, though! They are technically very good, but they are overly anxious! I've had a few different hygienists, and so far all of them have been eager to "diagnose" various issues with my teeth, that they announce to me (before Dr. Deutch has even walked into the room). Then I get to spend the rest of the cleaning worrying that there are terrible problems with my teeth. And then when Dr. Deutch comes in at the end, he inevitably takes a look, reassures me that everything looks great, and sends me on my way. I don't know if the hygienists are just trying to upsell various cosmetic procedures, but they definitely seem to be overstepping their role a little. read more

The office has always been run professionally, so it was no surprise to see the steps R & D had put in place to keep their team and patients safe during the pandemic. At my most recent appointment, said measures made me feel safe, and I appreciated the punctuality and efficiency of the treatment that kept the length of stay in the office to an absolute minimum. I had a really good experience at Rosen & Deutch. From the moment you walk through the door, you begin to learn that the staff is really helpful, patient, and friendly. Beth, who did my cleaning, was quite the conversationalist! It was really nice talking to her and it was a nice distraction from my teeth cleaning (which really wasn't that bad or painful anyway). Beth's been with this practice for 30 years. I felt like I was in really good hands and I really appreciated that she seemed to be trying to get to know me. The dentist, Andrew Deutch, is a modern professional. He is young appearing! What I liked about him was that he didn't seem to be spouting generic nonsense to me like some practitioners. He seemed to give me an honest opinion that he shared with confidence. He didn't feel comfortable removing my crazy wisdom tooth and referred me to someone better suited to handle a stubborn tooth such as mine. I was looking for a new dentist after going to the same practice for years and Dr. Deutch and his team are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, kind, and accommodating. I've always hated going to the dentist. Something about that bright light shining on my face, blinding my eyes, while a stranger pokes around with my mouth flung open is beyond intrusive. Its tooth rape! The sound of a drill to me is worse than nails running down a chalkboard and I can prob. think of over 1 million other things I'd rather be doing with my time. I have been seeing Dr Andrew Deutch for a almost two years now. I would rate him as the best dentist I've seen in NYC. I have lived in this city for over 10 years now, and gone through my share of dentists. From the very first visit, he appeared very knowledgeable regarding any of my dental needs. Sometime last year i went to him with a toothache. Instead of suggesting the usual "remove tooth/ root canal/ crown", he spent a significant amount of time studying the X-Rays and concluded that I did NOT need any of that. He said sometimes such pain is cyclical, and asked me to wait a few days. Sure enough, its been over a year, and I am fine. Rare to find such dentists who dont always recommend you to go for the most expensive options. A few months ago, my TMJ pain started acting up and I went back to him. Over 2-3 visits, he treated me, and I havent had any pain since. For him, always, surgery is only a last resort. This is exactly how it should be. A review is something i rarely write, but this doctor kinda deserves it. Again, i found myself recommending him to several of my friends and co-workers. And most of them now regard him with the same respect I do. Might I add that I have never had to wait for more than 2 minutes at his reception. I always make it a point to get to my appointments on time (not a minute late). And his staff always make it a point to see me on time (not a minute late). Great front desk staff. I dont know their names, but as most newyorkers can relate, its not uncommon to find great practices with rude front-desk staff. But this practice lucked out in every way. In summary, you have a super knowledgeable Dentist, with excellent professional courtesy, summed with fantastic receptionists, and assistants. So this is a win! read more

I have to begin by saying I have been avoiding the dentist for 2 years due to the bad experiences I have had from others. Whether it was painful cleanings or a "salesman" approach to how much cosmetic surgery I supposedly should have, I have been disappointed to say the least. So when I was recommended Dr. Deutch, I was weary but let me say..WOW! From the moment I called, the staff was friendly and informative. When I arrived, I waited no more than a couple minutes in their beautiful waiting area to be then greeted by the dental hygienist and brought in to a room for my cleaning. Can I throw in here the massage chair you sit in when getting work done and the relaxing music playing? It may sound crazy but I get very nervous at a dentist office so this helped and was, in a word, AMAZING!! Dr. Deutch sat with me patiently and explained that my teeth were healthy and gave me options on cosmetic procedures such as whitening and veneers but never pushed, saying if I was happy with my smile, that is what mattered. I have great teeth so it has always been frustrating when others sell me something I dont need. So refreshing to have a dentist leave my beauty decisions up to me and actually take more concern in looking for things a dentist should look for...cavities, plaque. You know, the things the cosmetic dentist "forgot" about. I have found my dentist and will never go anywhere else!! Might even get that whitening..... Dr Rosen was absolutely the best dentist out there. He loved teeth, was great with patients, and everyone in his practice was sad to see him retire. After his retirement, I began to see Dr Robert Deutch. After a wisdom tooth extraction, I had a complication and came back to see him for help with the pain. I was sitting in the dentist's chair when out of nowhere Dr. R Deutch appeared from behind and kissed me on the cheek. This is not appropriate behavior for a dentist towards a patient. He should not be kissing patients. Not on the cheek. Not on the hand. Not at all. I was so startled. I stayed for the appointment because I was in pain and needed help. But he should not have put a patient in that position: Feeling uncomfortable due to his poor boundaries. Feeling trapped in a dentist's chair. I am posting this because I want to warn other women about his lack of professionalism. And because I hope it makes Dr. R Deutch think more carefully about his behavior in the future. UPDATE: Dr. Andrew Deutch reached out to me with a very thoughtful message about this incident, and assured me that he has spoken to his father/business partner about making changes moving forward. While I don't feel comfortable removing my review, I do want to acknowledge that I have had no negative experiences with Dr. Andrew Deutch, and that I was impressed by his thoughtful, emotionally connected, validating message. read more

Rude doctor and damaged my lower front tooth. He doesn't listen to patient and full of himself. Erased one side of my lower front tooth (which was the good part. looking not flat now) when I wanted to do a filling for the small dent on the back of it. I don't understand why he was grinding one front side of it while the dent was on the inner/back side.The guy is much older than the picture he posted on his website and zocdoc I went for a teeth filling. I asked the doctor the fill three broken parts. Two top ones and one down. He wanted to do the upper two and told me he will grind the lower front tooth instead, which only had a small dent on the back. I was not very comfortable with this decision. I didn't want any grinding to my tooth. He used his tool to keep poking/pulling that dent on my lower front tooth which made me concerned it would break. What made me so regretful and angry is that the top on the lower front tooth was unevenly ground, one side went down sharp and the top of the tooth has a big angle. It only had a small dent on the back and it doesn't need to one side down of the tooth while the other side is much higher. He didn't listen to what I wanted and failed my trust, erased one side of my tooth which is not regenerative as we know. It doesn't look flat and feel bad. He could just smooth the dent on the back center part. It's very minimal and at least no treatment at all is fine. But he erased one side largely, also the front surface. making one side much lower than the other. IT doesn't make any sense to touch this part It seems the other tooth next to it which I didn't ask for any treatment was ground on the top as well Also his attitude is bad. My teeth are perfectly clean and I brush twice a day, not yellow and not that fake white. What he said is "it's very dirty and he usually do teeth cleaning first before filling". Never had any dental doctor said that Unacceptable and very unhappy read more

What an amazing dental hygienist. I have not left a dentist more satisfied to date! Lauren did a fantastic job, and Andrew wrapped the appointment up with everything I needed to know and prepare for until out next visit in 6 mo. I've tried many dentists throughout my life and never have I felt more at home and comfortable, which removes any stigma about the dentists (i.e. drills etc) that I had before. I feel completely taken advantage of after visiting Rosen & Deutch. They charged my insurance $9,500 for a $2,000 apnea device. I was told during my treatment that the device would cost $1,500 but more likely $1,000. The American Sleep Association confirms this price and refers to a cost of $1,800 to $2,000 for these devices. The description on the invoice submitted to my insurance provider referred to O2 & breathing apparatus which doesn't seem correct for a mouth-guard. I'm sharing this story because this is why health insurance costs are so high. We all end up paying for these charges via our premiums. This claim is excessive! read more

I've been coming to this practice since I was a little kid, and what was true then is even more true now that Andrew has joined the practice: this is the most professional and capable dental office in Manhattan. I've had a few major procedures throughout the years, including a badly infected wisdom tooth. The skill with which Dr. Deutch dealt with my issue was astounding. Dr. Robert Deutch is the most amazing, talented, expert, knowledgeable, committed and compassionate dentist I have ever met. Dr. Deutch and his team are not only professional and polite, they are truly caring and supportive. This is the team that has gotten me through more than 30 years of "dental hell". Drs. Deutch, Robert and Andrew, along with Alescia and other members of their team, have stood by me each step of the way as every attempt was made to save my teeth and keep me out of a denture. Despite all efforts, two years ago, for the second or third time, I was once again left in a denture. Dr. Deutch then referred me to an oral surgeon in March of 2015. In May of 2015 I underwent zygomatic implant surgery, with Dr. Deutch by my side, during which Dr. Neugarten placed four implants (2 on each side) into my cheekbones and Dr. Deutch amazingly placed fixed teeth. I was able to leave the surgery with fixed teeth. Sadly, I became infected over the summer and ultimately these implants began to fail as well. I was an emotional and physical mess. Through the summer and into 2016, I was in constant contact with Dr. Deutch and his team in person, by phone and by e-mail. I could call or write anytime and receive a response. I cried, I yelled, I laughed with them. By January 2016 I was back in a denture. I was emotionally and physically beaten. Dr. Deutch and the surgeon both encouraged me to have the procedure again. I did. On January 4, 2017, this time with Dr. Deutch and Alescia by my side, The oral surgeon placed 6 zygomatic implants into my cheek bones and Dr. Deutch once again worked for hours and placed fixed teeth in my mouth. My new teeth are not only beautiful, they are fixed. I can eat and smile without fear or hesitation. What an amazing, emotional process. I am forever grateful for where I am today. I highly recommend Drs. Deutch on all levels without reservation. read more
