Our water heater had a defective sensor and I called Rosenberg Plumbing to see if they had any availability to help swap out some parts, once the mfg sent them to me. As we had been out of hot water for 2 days, it was becoming an urgent matter (I know, first world problems!). Sarah picked up immediately and was very helpful, working with me to try and arrange for her technician to come out as soon as possible. Within 10 minutes, she called me back to let me know her technician will be able to squeeze us in at least for an assessment of the situation. Mike arrived within an hour and checked out and worked on the replacement part for our water heater. He was patient and gave me his professional opinion of our water heater and some necessary updates. Upon leaving, he pointed out what to look for and to call him immediately should we notice anything wrong. Called last night and made an appointment for today to repair a clogged sink and they didn't show up or even call. I tried calling them, but they didn't return my call. This after taking a day off from work to meet them! I had used Rosenberg Plumbing with good results in the past, but it had been some time. Rosenberg Plumbing came through for me on short notice and provided some of the best service I've seen since moving permanently to California. My wife and I had called another plumbing company (never to be mentioned in the same breath with these wonderful people). The other company had left my wife waiting for 2.5 hours and never called to let her know they were even going to be late much less not show up at all. I called Rosenberg Plumbing and spoke to Joyce who was wonderful and pleasant.... AND she laughed at my lame jokes so she's a keeper and her husband is a lucky man! She called one of their plumbers and called me back within 5 minutes to tell me that he would be by within the next 15 minutes! True to their word Mike Rodriguez showed up within 15 minutes but I suspect it was less. He came in checked out the situation went to his truck got the part and had it in place and the faucet fixed in our guest shower within 15 minutes of his arrival! All after 5pm! And to boot he charged us less than the loser plumbing company that we tried to use again because we were in a pinch and needed the work done. Started with backup of toilet and shower with sewage. Called City for them to check the street sewage, they came and "blew" out street, still had blockage... my issue.... Called insurance and they contacted Rosenberg Plumbling to have me schedule service. This was Friday 12noonish... I figured oh no, schedule service, means Monday or Tuesday. Mike called and said, we will be out between 2-4pm (same day) WOW.. 4pm called by JIM, running late, but we will be there. They came, tried to clear from the house clean out valve, no good... have to go back and get camera to find out blockage and where house main line goes... I do not see another clean out and without the other clean out, cant resolve.. will call you... oh no, again figuring another trip probably next week then clean out... .way too long... to be continued....... Jim called back within an hour, said we dont work weekends... BUT we will come out Tomorrow (SAT) 10am... double WOW.... they came out, brought a SNAKE, ran over 80ft, still not cleared.... started looking, searching, probing, crawling, for a second cleanout valve.. found it, opened it (buried under dirt) clean it and all is happy with household once again. so he charged us 1400 dollars for work that he never completed and never even gave us a receipt. This is a slimy guy. Very sad to work so hard for my money and then be taken advantage of. He will not return calls to discuss it and has a phone system where he screens the calls so he can avoid folks he has misrepresented himself. Like another reviewer, I had used Rosenberg Plumbing when it really was Rosenberg Plumbing (many, many years ago). The original owner was fantastic. I don't know when Mike took over, but I started using his services about 5 years ago. He's been fine. But this last time, he promised to send me an invoice and hasn't. I've called him several times (I hate feeling like a pest). Like other reviewers' experiences, he hasn't returned my calls. Maybe that's why he screens calls. I can forgive the big mess he made when he changed my water filter the last time he was here ... water everywhere. Everyone makes mistakes now and then, although he said that was the second time that week he made that mistake. Unforgivable is not keeping a promise you make. I paid him, he cashed the check, but never sent me the invoice he promised. It's been over a month now. I'm sorry to say that I won't be recommending him any more. DON'T USE THIS GUY! His business address is fake. The number is a cell phone. Mike Rodrigues is who we dealt with. He gave us an estimate, we paid him for the estimate ($100), to be applied to the work that was to be done the next week. Called twice to confirm the appt. Guess what? No show. Called twice in two hours to get ahold of "Mike Rodrigues" after the no show, but got no callback. Finally got ahold of him, while he was "on another job". Asked for the address so he could refund us our money and we all could move on. Ol' Mike hung up on us! And wouldn't pickup when we called back. Go figure. Bottom line...this guy is a ripoff. I was paired with Mike in a bit of an emergency - a sink was overflowing with raw sewage in my basement. I was able to get in contact with Mike IMMEDIATELY, and he was beyond communicative while actively on site for another job. He was very calming over the phone. He graciously showed up at my house at the end of his already long work day to help. Even in a pile of crap, Mike was cracking jokes and making me laugh - in the wee hours of the night on his own personal time, he got my drain unclogged! He didn't stop there and made sure to thoroughly check that every plumbing fixture was working properly. I'm a bit of a nerd and was asking lots of questions along the way, and Mike had a great time explaining to me how things work. I am beyond grateful for Mike's help - he's extremely passionate about what he does and extremely caring of his customers. I would absolutely call Mike back for any problems in the future. read more

I've lived in Pacifica, in the same house for 55 years. When I was a young lad, my parents used Rosenberg Plumbing when it really was Rosenberg Plumbing. Now, I'm an old lad and it's my house. So, when our water heater blew out Rosenberg was who I called. Mike came out and explained that he had bought the business and was carrying it on. He did a FANTASTIC job. So when I needed a new garbage disposal and pipework done under the sink, I turned to Mike again and, again, he did GREAT work. Same for when we needed new fixtures in the bath. So... what happened since then? He doesn't answer calls, he doesn't return calls. If you do get a hold of him, he can't remember who you are or what you need. He'll give you a date when he'll come by and not call or show up. Totally unreliable. We've been scrambling for 3 days to get work done that he committed to and then blew off without word one. I called Mike on Monday morning as our water heater was dead. Mike was able to give me a firm quote over the phone. His price was a $1000 less than a scam company called Affordable Water Heaters which tried pressuring us on Sunday to commit to their installation. Mike came out a few hours later to size up the situation. He came back out later in the afternoon and within less than an hour he had the new tank installed. I am not sure about the history of this business but I delt with Mike Rodriguez. This is the chain of events of my experience with Mr. Rodriguez. Called to have a valve replaced. He said he could make it out to the office I was located at the following day. Few days go by with no response. I receive a follow up call from Mr. Rodriguez filled with apologies and we rescheduled another date and time to have the job done (either the next day or the day after that). Still nothing. Then, it must have been 3 or 5 days later a tall gentleman enters my office. I say, "Hello, can I help you?" "The job is done" "what?" No warning. From what I was told from the other people occupying the building, Mr. Rodriguez walked into the building. Told the person at the front desk, "the water is going to be shut off for an hour" and then completed the job. I am writing this review because I just saw the invoice. $200 something for the parts (understandable since it is a commercial toilet, sure) But $165 for labor / service fee. Last I checked, I do not work in the White House. So, needless to say, I was not pleased. Also, on the day and time Mr. Rodriguez was suppose to arrive, we circulated a memo to the rest of the office building that water was to be shut off at 4:00 pm so, employee's left work early because of this. Why 2 stars? 1 star for getting the job done. Another star because Mr. Rodriguez (from what I can tell) is a pretty nice guy. Sure he may charge an arm and a leg for labor / service that should only cost approx $60-80. And sure he may have been a week and a half late to the job. And sure he could have chosen a better way of alerting people in the building that the water was going to be shut off. But, I believe he is a nice guy who just needs a better way to organize his time and work. Maybe even a secretary could probably do him wonders. But he is a hard worker. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone though. read more

This company was assigned to me by home warranty for a rush water heater replacement. They call me to set up an appointment, and during the call they said: "your policy covers the tank" but "we have no idea what the contracting cost will be to bring this up to code", "and other additional charges". When I asked what that meant since I have a report from the previous dispatched plumber saying that everything is up to code, they said promptly "we are going to decline your call since you seem to have expectations to not have out of pocket cost". I clarified that I made no such statements, but if I have questions about what they want to charge me, I need to be able to ask questions so I know what to expect. Their shocking reply was "we will definitely decline your call because you are condescending and rude". HMMMM. Weird people, bizarre customer service experience, and certainly not surprised after reading the reviews of overcharging and never invoicing. Avoid them. read more

Recently, my toilet wouldn't flush. The water would back up almost to the rim of the bowl and slowly drain. Yikes! I called an emergency plumber to snake out the pipes because sewage was backing up into the bath tub and I wanted to take a hot shower in the morning. The plumber said that the blockage was in the main sewer pipe underneath the driveway. He said that a portion of the pipe would have to be replaced and he would guarantee the job for only 30 days because the pipe was collapsing. "Oh, great", I thought. Another leak in the already-leaking bucket. A few weeks later I noticed that some city guys were excavating a hole in the street to get to a sewer pipe. I stopped and jokingly said, "Hey, when you're done there, come up to my place and fix my sewer!" One of them was kind enough to ask me if I was aware that the City of Pacifica had a program that refunds the home owner twenty percent (up to $1,000) for the cost of replacing the main sewer pipe if qualified. He gave me a flyer and told me to call the number. The city guys came out and checked out my sewer with a sewer video cam. Our sewer pipe was collapsing in several places and it was cracked in several more places. And there was some root intrusion too. We were qualified! They gave me a list of plumbing contractors to choose from and I chose Rosenberg plumbing to do the job. After speaking with Mike, I was sold. Mike gave me much more detailed information than the other two plumbers that I interviewed. He was prepared to give me a detailed proposal that he printed from his printer in his truck! He even let me watch him work and ask questions while he was working. He explained everything to me. He told me what kind of materials he was using and why. I learned a lot. And my sewer was out of service for only about an hour. Fantastic! Did I learn enough to do it my self somewhere else? Yes. Am I crazy enough to try? No. But why bother? I would just hire Rosenberg plumbing again. Mike was very professional, courteous, and he had a great sense of humor. I tell you, the guy was a pleasure to work with. And his prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Rosenberg Plumbing to my friends and anyone else for that matter. He did a beautiful job. He incorporated improvements in the new sewer and made the sewer clean-out more easily accessible. I couldn't be happier! read more

My water heater's pilot light won't lit up after several tries. Called Rosenberg Plumbing and talked to Mike and told him about the problem. In about half an hour, he came by. I thought initially that it could be another major problem. I had the same problem six months prior and another Pacifica plumber charged me more than $300 for parts and labor. When Mike came by, he was able to relit the pilot light in a nano second! Didn't charge me anything, but I gave him a little something for his effort. Nice guy, good service. Next time I have a plumbing problem, I won't hesitate to call this company. read more

Cleared one at no charge, instead of recommending replacement. Didn't look for ways not to find coverage as some co's will do when they are too busy. We were big fans of Mr. Rosenberg and have become fans of Mike & Joyce. They have always been timely, professional, honest, and as reasonable as can be expected for the plumbing industry. We have NOT had the same experience with other plumbers in Pacifica and when Rosenberg was not available, we had another plumber in Pacifica incorrectly install a dishwasher and insist that a toilet needed to be replaced that was simply clogged.
