I didn't have high expectations as many of the reviews looked a little sketch. Pizza was not bad. The pizza quality itself was not nearly as good as a proper pizzeria. The crust was a little stiff. And visually it looked like oven pizza. The Tikka pizza was decent. I've had this a few times in Northern Cali. This wasn't as flavorful but given that there may not be any alternatives in nj it may be worth checking out. 3 stars for this. The paneer pizza was flat out bad. It didn't have any Indian flavor whatsoever. I'd put this at 2 stars tops. They have a 20% discount code which I took advantage of. At that price point it's fairly reasonable. read more

I was honestly quite surprised about this place. We were having a going away party for a coworker and planned on ordering pizza from another place but they had some issues with their equipment. So we decided to give this place a try. We ordered 2 large cheese pizzas, pepperoni and a veggie pizza. The pizza wasn't bad at all. The veggie and one cheese pizza were completely gone. There was only half left of pepperoni and other cheese. I tried the plain and pepperoni and quite honestly they weren't bad. Staff were very polite. It's quite a combination of being ice cream and pizza. And the only drawback is that they don't sell pizza by the slice. That would be better if they did. read more

Incredible pizzas and incredible service. I've come in multiple times with larger orders for parties. No matter the size of the order Rose's takes it in stride and always gives us delicious, quality food. They are consistent across orders, and within orders: every pizza and sandwich were of the same caliber, there was no skimping on ingredients or over/under cooking the pizzas. Flame Thrower pizza: a great find for Halal foodies looking for pepperoni pizza. Spicy, heart, and still tasty the next day. Chicken Tikka pizza: not just a gimmick but truly tastes like it deserves to be a pizza. Probably the best version of this fusion I've had because the chicken is so nicely spiced. Amazing!! Food is really tasty and the bread for all the sandwiches is incredibly fresh! The chicken tikka pizza was great with the green pepper, but if you get it with the jalapeño, it can be super spicy. The rosé's special sandwich, the chicken cutlet, and the Turkey are our go to! This place was bought out by the neighboring kabob restaurant ,from the previous owners of rose's and made it all halal! read more

Do not let this little unassuming pizza joint fool you, this is some of the best pizza I have ever had, with a twist. If you have a propensity for spicy, South Asian food but you love American classics, this is your place for pizza. First of all, the chicken tikka pizza is INCREDIBLE. A great mix of eat meets west, the cilantro goes so beautifully with the tomato sauce. For vegetarians, the paneer tikka pizza does not disappoint. You all need to try it! I think the prices are very reasonable. They use halal meat if you you're looking for that. Pizza pickup takes about 20 minutes, I usually pick up pizza on my way home. While the service was fine and efficient, the pizza was extremely bland. It lacked sauce and any taste. We tried paneer tikka and chicken tikka pizza. Both were very average. Absolutely no spices. You really need to eat here. I've picked up food from here twice for me and the hubby, and I also have picked up a large order for catering. First, the small orders. We ordered pizza, cold subs, a meatball parm, and chicken wings. Everything is phenomenal. I'm not a huge fan of cold cuts because of how oversalted they are, and often tasteless. However, my understanding is that the owner makes his deli meat in house. That alone is enough to keep me coming back. The wings are definitely in the top 5 I have ever had. For the catering, I appreciated how accommodating the owners were when I called in and order for 40 people the night before. All the food was fresh and delicious, and friends and family who ate it wanted to know where we catered from. Overall, this place has wonderful owners who care about their food. The product they serve clearly reflects that. read more

Chicken tikka pizza a solid 4 and paneer tikka pizza a definite 5. The paneer pizza tasted a little sweeter, and it was great. The chicken tikka was beautifully made. I appreciate the evenness of all the ingredients. There is ample parking at this small strip mall location. I saw a sign for MasterCard and visa only. They use the square device to swipe your card. There's an ATM on the premises. You can use your card for orders over $15. I will definitely get the paneer pizza again. 16" was $17.95. Well worth the cost. Who would've thought how amazing chicken tikka would taste on pizza! Rose's has the most amazing Chicken Tikka Pizza, be warned it is quite spicy with the jalapeno peppers and spicy sauce. Their spicy chicken wings are also amazing, crispy on the outside with the pefect amount of sauce and juicy on the inside. A must tryyy! I came here to check out their chicken tikka pizza and it was not disappointing! Super small spot but they know how to make great pizza- and that's coming from a NYer! The crust is perfectly thin, the chicken tikka was not too overwhelming and worked really well with pizza. Just realized that I never reviewed this place after eating there months ago. I stopped in at Rose's back in June when I was (surprise) down in Edison for a softball tournament. I ordered a personal pan pizza with sausage and I hate to be the one to go against the other reviews, but I wasn't thrilled with it. I love pizza, and as I've said before I'll even admit to being a pizza snob, but I know what I like and this place didn't do it for me. Maybe it was because I got the personal pan pizza, but it reminded me of Pizza Hut pizza. Perhaps their regular pies are better or more traditional, but the flavor isn't what I like with my pizza. The sauce wasn't bad-flavorful, but a little too sweet for me. The crust was a little thicker than I like which was odd because most of the pix on their website show a thinner crust. Who knows, maybe I caught them on a bad day or maybe I shouldn't be comparing their pizza to what I would consider traditional Jersey pizza. Maybe if I had the chicken tikka pizza I would have gotten a better feel for it...that seems to be the favorite for this place. Anyway, sorry Rose's but I just wasn't a fan. If I'm down there again next year maybe I'll give them another shot. I hate giving a pizza place two stars. read more

it was fine. pizza tastes good if your hungry but otherwise it's kinda mid. chicken was stale, tasted day old. service was fine, the guy there was nice. we saw some bugs around the dining area which was slightly concerning but ehhh whatever we were hungry. all in all wasn't anything too crazy, don't plan on coming back though. read more

Love Rose's!! Yummy pizza (plain cheese, cheese steak, white, and chicken tikka pizza are ALL delicious!), their hot sandwiches are great (i love the cheese steak special and eggplant parm)..all the calzones are great, pasta is pretty decent (i've only tried the ziti and fettucine alfredo)..and they also have Greasetrucks' Fat Sandwiches! So much yummier.. the french fries are KILLER! i'm pretty sure they double-fry them.. so crunchy, so potato-y, and always cooked to order! (well, all their food is.) Be sure to try out some Kwality Ice Cream! They carry a pretty good selection, and the rose falooda flavor is BOMB. Portions are huge, food is super cheap (a lot of their stuff is easily under $10), and you never wait more than 10 minutes. read more

First of all, this is Italian place run by Indians, while the attached place next door is Indian run by Indians. Everything here smells like Indian food, and I was the only white guy around. The wings were good quality, but the breading got soggy from the buffalo sauce they used. The sauce tasted very generic, which was upsetting because a little Indian flare/heat on the wing would have been nice. 3 stars, nothing special. The onion rings were out of a bag, but fried nicely and not overly greasy. 3 stars. The chicken tikka pizza was really good. It's pretty much just a plain pizza topped with chicken tikka kebob sliced thin and jalapeño for a little heat. Would have been nice if the pizza sauce was changed to a tikka masala, but people that don't like overwhelming Indian flavors will still enjoy this pizza. I can also recommend their plain pizza based on the pie I had. Pretty impressive that these guys are doing pizza better than authentic pizzerias. 4 stars. The cheese steak was a mess. Yes it was huge, but I couldn't even identify where the cheese was and the steak was super shredded to the point it had the consistency of ground beef. 1 star. The staff was friendly and they take credit cards, but NO AMMEX. read more

Sooo good! whenever we're in jersey, we try to swing by here to grab their cheesesteaks. they're amazing! the bread is really good, the meat tastes fresh, and the ratio of cheese and toppings to meat is perfect! and they really load them up! it's definitely worth trying! and one cheesesteak is definitely big enough to share! the pizza is another hit as well!! really hits the spot. and the ice cream is delicious and fresh tasting too :) read more

Such a random hidden gem! I stopped by here on the way to a friend's house in Edison because I hadn't had a chance to eat dinner yet. I wasn't expecting much just solely judging on the look of the place (yeah I know, "don't judge a book by it's cover"). I ordered a personal pizza to go and was blown away after the first bite! Definitely one of the best slices that I've had in my life, I still crave it all the time and am planning to stop by next time I'm in the area. I just wish the restaurant had a nicer look and feel. It was very hot in there (no AC I guess) and did not seem very hygienic. But even so, I'm willing to overlook that because the pizza was just THAT good. read more

Definitely recommend the eggplant parm pizza!! There's a pretty good amount of fried eggplant which is a great substitute for meat. Only downside to this pizza shop is that the workers barely speak English. We ordered half chicken parm and half eggplant parm and honestly when he repeated our order it sounded nothing like that... at least the pizza was good! read more

The steak and cheese sub was probably the best i have tasted in awhile. We had ordered the whole sub, which was 16 inches and cut into 4 parts. Warm toasted bread, and melted cheese with the meat. Also ordered the roast beef and cheese to go which was also really good. Definitely will come back every time I am in the area. read more

Terrific, unusual choices! Yelp reviews cited the Chicken Tikka Pizza, which is delicious. Feeling more adventurous? The Flame Thrower Pizza is like having a party in your mouth... and everyone is invited! Operators are courteous and happy to see you, the decor is shoes and shirts, and sometimes there are "unusual characters" about (I have been there different times during the day). It is on a busy road, in a small hidden strip mall with a poorly designed lot (unless it was designed to agitate). The food is absolutely worth any minor inconveniences, including lot or third party interactions! read more

I have tried Rose's pizza twice and am a bonafide fan and super impressed with their food quality. It is attached to an Indian restaurant next door, nothing is fancy but the food is solid. The Indian ice cream is delicious. Chicken tikka pizza is hands down awesome, crunchy fries, good sandwich bread and good wings. The menu is the same old pizza place menu but the food seems to be more freshly made to order than the local pizza place. read more

Great pizza! My boyfriend and I went just to try the chicken tikka pizza because it got great reviews on here and it was well worth it! I live in Edison and didn't even know about this place- definitely a hidden gem. The place is small but there are a few tables to sit down at and the service was fast! My only critique for the chicken tikka pizza would be that I wish it had more sauce. I get why it has marinara on it (not enough though), but I wonder if it'd be better with more of a marinade/curry type of sauce. Other than that it was so yummy and the chicken was delicious. The chicken wrap I got was a plain crispy wrap not the spicy chicken. The meal comes with fries and a drink. The fries were made with something they gave them a very good crunchy taste. The menu is not bad. Good selection for many. The eating area is roomy where you will not feel like you sitting up under others. The staff was friendly and good timing with getting the food out I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. The real taste test comes when my future Yelp Grand daughter taste it.

It was disappointing because the presentation was excellent, but the broth ultimately fell short of expectations. Overall, the experience had a strong start with friendly service and prompt food delivery, but the lack of follow-up service and the underwhelming broth left me disappointed. To think I worked at fast food once upon a time despite having a college degree during the financial crisis and worked much harder for only $7 an hour, and yeah even with inflation it's nowhere near the minimum wage now. Anyway, I did like the bit of kick in the batter of the chicken sandwich. I didn't like that you couldn't add extra pickles and frankly Popeye's has a better (and cheaper) crispier sandwich, which you can add a spicy sauce to. Oh yeah, looks like Bojangles also charge for sauce. Shouldn't at least one or two come per entree? Literally using the sauce to make your food taste better so we'll want to return, these are bizarre choices fast food chains are making these days. I can go to CFA for a better experience, and staff will seem friendlier and happier there. Even the Wendy's and BK next door have people who are at least chill (instead of downright cold) if not friendlier, which they are. At least the sauce cups are a good size though and I just paid it without a complaint. Still, so much for Southern hospitality! Mac & cheese was also very bland and generic, enough though I thought I read it was made with 4 types of cheese. I'll need to give their tenders and peach cobbler a try next time, but also noticed there was no way to order tenders without making it a combo. Not much of a first impression, what a shame!

Unlike other fast food chains you can watch the staff prepare biscuits fresh in front of you, surprisingly rolling the dough out and not premade from frozen! While the sausage wasn't anything special (just tasted like a standard fast food frozen sausage) the chicken was incredible. Crispy, expertly seasoned, I completely understand the hype behind this chain. The Bo Rounds, their version of hash browns, were amazing. Their iced cold brew and coffee were surprisingly good, not something you expect from a fast food place. I'm only giving this 4 stars because it does seem like a good chunk of the original Bojangles menu is missing. I've heard such great things about their fried chicken, but it looks like this location only sells chicken tenders. What a shame, but we will definitely be returning!

Sunmerry appears to be a chain but one that I have never visited before until now so I can't really comment on what they have, but I did manage to grab: MATCHA CLOUD DONUT - This reminded me vaguely of the im donut donuts I tried in NYC. Very soft and pillowy and filled to the brim with a lightly sweet, matcha filling. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this. RED BEAN MATCHA BAGEL - it's a matcha dough with red bean filling BUT the filling doesn't go all the way around. It goes maybe 65% so if you're splitting this with someone like I did, fingers crossed you both get a decent amount. The bagel was soft and in a bagel shape but it lacked the chew of a bagel. The filling was nice and different but the matcha taste was subtle - if that. Overall, liked the idea, but I wanted more of a bagel chew than what I got and to taste the matcha better. It's smaller than the pineapple bun and the topping is a little sweeter - I remember crunching on sugar crystals. It's not bad but also not filled so it's a tiny bit on the dry side. The place has tables to the side where you can enjoy your goodies. I didn't stay too long but they definitely serve drinks and delicious cakes as well. The staff were nice and the place seemed on the dim side. Fingers crossed I can go back during the day to get a better idea of what they have! In the meantime, this is a good place for an Asian bakery fix. They do list out ingredients under the names of their baked goods so that's awesome! From what I could see, their baked goodies are likely not vegan or gluten-free friendly, though...

This dessert shop offers authentic Taiwanese treats featuring grass jelly, tofu pudding, taro mochi balls, red bean soup, and the aforementioned shaved ice, along with egg waffles, various teas and other beverages. The limited edition summer osmanthus series caught my eye, so I went for an osmanthus milk shaved ice, infused with condensed sweetened milk and osmanthus syrup, a cloud of almond tofu pudding on top, with mochi balls, red beans, and lychee jelly tucked around the base. The flavor of the cool fluffy shaved ice is subtly sweet, lightly creamy, with just a hint of floral, and the snow melts on your tongue. The osmanthus flavor is not very strong or fragrant, however, though I've never had successful encounters with commercial osmanthus-flavored things outside of Asia, as it's a very distinctive and delicate taste that's also one of my favorite scents and culinary condiments, so I'm very particular about its faithfulness. We ordered a large since it's only $1 more than the medium, so practically begs one to order the oversized version, which is enough for 2+ people to share. But why so enormous? How about offering a personal sized one for a little less? Premium as the ingredients are, $18 feels like a lot for shaved ice.
